Does anyone know if we will get the new series of the Good Wife in the UK?

It usually starts about this time of year but I have not seen any mention of it this year sad

Bue Tue 27-Nov-12 21:06:31

Last year it started in January so I imagine it will again this time. I'm so excited!!

Bue Tue 27-Nov-12 21:10:49

Just found online that the new series has definitely been picked up by More 4 and will start sometime early 2013 smile

valiumredhead Wed 28-Nov-12 08:51:55

Can't wait!

gilmoregirl Wed 28-Nov-12 22:09:38

oh great. Thank you. Something to look forward to in the new year then!

joolsandfrances Wed 28-Nov-12 22:16:09

Best thing on TV grin

Best thing since ER.

CrispyTheCow Thu 29-Nov-12 22:34:53

Woo hoo! I love The Good Wife!

What series are we on in the UK then?. I watched the first series about 2/3 yrs ago and thought it was great but Ive not seen anything since

northender Fri 30-Nov-12 19:02:05

Series 4 I think woohoo grin. Definitely my favourite programme on tv. Glad More4 have it again

SpanishFly Mon 03-Dec-12 08:29:03

I love this programme. Totally underrated imo. I hope Michael j fox has a HUGE role this season - his character is wonderful

Sharksandfishes Mon 03-Dec-12 09:55:22

We have it over here [smug]
We're on the 5th or 6th episode and its reeeeally good!

CleansLate Mon 03-Dec-12 09:57:39

Yes, am in the USA and think this series is a return to form. LOVE TGW and am total anorak - I live in Chicago now and got all geeky when we drove past Highland Park.

ArtfulAardvark Tue 04-Dec-12 00:44:29

Oh im glad its not just me I LOVE this and strangely its not the main characters that grab me either, all the supporting cast are so brilliant too. Like you said Michael J Fox, Martha Plimpton, Carrie Preston as the opposing Lawyers are brilliant. I totally love Alan Cumming as Eli - he gets the best bitchy lines.

Oh and of course the Mother in Law from hell (make mine look tame!)

Bue Wed 09-Jan-13 13:27:10

FYI - starts Thurs Jan 31 at 9 on More4 grin

Countdown on!

SlatternismyMiddlename Wed 09-Jan-13 14:42:06

Ooooh, thanks for the info, I can't wait!

valiumredhead Thu 10-Jan-13 13:23:25

Can't wait!

1991all Sat 12-Jan-13 20:38:44

Great news
Watches the first episode in the US in September, been desperate!

tribpot Sat 12-Jan-13 22:03:06

No spoilers! Although I sincerely hope the dream team of Michael J and Martha P will be back. smile

mam29 Sat 12-Jan-13 22:13:57

Fab as was such great ending to last series. Thankgod getting new sky plus box in bedroom.

Pendipidy Sat 12-Jan-13 22:15:15

Yay !

mam29 Sat 12-Jan-13 22:32:27

remember she had the sledgehammer, the gun and someone her ex was coming? best character in the series.

Hoping will be less annoying new series.

Also the kids annoy me especially the daughter she just so odd.

tribpot Sat 12-Jan-13 23:50:07

Ooh yes, good one. I find it increasingly unbelievable that she would have slept with Peter except for political gain.

1991all Sun 13-Jan-13 15:20:58

D'ya know who the ex is?!

<happy dance>

lilibet Thu 17-Jan-13 16:17:40

I am just finishing series two - it's very, very good, can I do a full series before this one starts?

{sits down, glues backside to couch}

Whoop - so glad it is back on! This Thursday, not long now.

Watched the first 12 episodes of series 4, it's bloody brilliant. My fave show at the moment.

Loquace Fri 18-Jan-13 19:03:52

I totally love Alan Cumming as Eli

Seconded!

Bellebelle Fri 18-Jan-13 21:38:50

I know that I watched every episode in the last series but sledgehammer, ex, gun etc ringing no bells at all. Please can someone explain exactly what happened in the last episode?

Bellebelle Fri 18-Jan-13 21:39:19

Oh, was it something to do with Kalinda (sp?)

HalleLouja Sat 19-Jan-13 20:12:35

I love The Good Wife. Cannot remember what happened at the end of the last series. I remember the fit young one is back, did Will get back too? Need to look at Wiki.

Nancy66 Sun 20-Jan-13 10:31:43

I hope they do a recap - I can't remember how it ended at all.

Smudging Sun 20-Jan-13 21:57:43

Message withdrawn at poster's request.

northender Tue 22-Jan-13 21:32:04

I'm ridiculously excited about this coming back grin
From what I remember, Alicia was sorting through Kalinda's and rang someone about an unpaid cheque. The someone turns out to be K's ex husband so she holes up in her flat ready for him to turn up. Wasn't the last scene of Alicia outside the house where Peter and the kids are?

northender Tue 22-Jan-13 21:32:50

So excited I failed to say Kalinda's tax papers grin

northender Thu 24-Jan-13 20:25:28

Excitement reaching fever pitch here grin. Anyone else?

Bellebelle Thu 24-Jan-13 20:32:23

Northender Thanks for the recap, it's all come back to me know.

I can't watch it tonight as I'm out so looking forward to a Friday Good Wife night.

bunchamunchycrunchycarrots Thu 24-Jan-13 20:50:24

Signing in. Waiting with munchies. 10 minutes and counting...

northender Thu 24-Jan-13 20:52:32

Oops! Clearly over excited blush . Will try just to post this once grin

Forgetfulmog Thu 24-Jan-13 20:56:58

It starts tonight at 9 smile

Forgetfulmog Thu 24-Jan-13 20:57:36

Sorry x post!

bunchamunchycrunchycarrots Thu 24-Jan-13 21:00:46

So, how often is Michael J Fox going to feature I wonder? I luffs him I do.

tribpot Thu 24-Jan-13 21:01:18

Here we go ...

LesBOFerables Thu 24-Jan-13 21:37:08

Woohoo! I'm going to watch it on +1 at ten. Can't wait.

tribpot Thu 24-Jan-13 21:39:58

Everyone is looking excessively tanned, except for the marvellous Alicia.

northender Thu 24-Jan-13 21:45:12

Its as good as ever so far. Will is really not my type but yet when I watch this, I so wouldblush

God, I'd forgotten how hard you have to concentrate!
I can;t remember the KAlinda story line properly.

I think Kalinda's ex hubby is that guy whose name I can't remember who is English and used to do those Tevo ads! (Marc Warren) Anyway, they seperated/divorced and she's got some money, she says it's hers, he says it's his and anyway, watch tonight's episode. I thought too much violence, rather glorifying domestic violence and not nearly as exciting as Zac's clever exploits on line!

LesBOFerables Fri 25-Jan-13 00:25:17

Julianna Margulies is as beautiful as ever. That was a great episode.

tribpot Fri 25-Jan-13 00:28:52

The violence was very odd, wasn't it? Not in keeping with the series at all. Rather too noirish and faux-glam, apart from when Kalinda gets busy with the handy mallet-thingy <wince> Definitely too much violence at the expense of the more interesting Zac storyline.

I recognise Marc Warren only from Ballet Shoes where he played the marvellous Mr Simpson. Now I will never be able to reconcile him with this godawful character at all!

Still too much tanning though. I can't get over how old it made Chris Noth and the divine Ms Chenoweth look.

bunchamunchycrunchycarrots Fri 25-Jan-13 00:30:29

I thought too much violence, rather glorifying domestic violence

I agree with that. Made me shift about uncomfortably, especially with Kalinda having that smirk on her face at all times - hitting him, being hit by him, having sex, in the office next day. And I agree it detracted from Zac's plot, which was pretty good.

valiumredhead Fri 25-Jan-13 15:52:21

WTF was the whole Kalinda thing about? confused

northender Fri 25-Jan-13 18:11:27

I've felt like that about lots of Kalinda's storylines

Bajas Fri 25-Jan-13 19:49:06

Love this show especially Eli!

Found the Kalinda/ ex husband sex/ fighting thing a bit disturbing.

Overall though a great first episode.

Bue Fri 25-Jan-13 21:34:24

Didn't like the Kalinda storyline at all. Also, although the police officer was completely dodgy, I thought Zack acted like a little shit from the beginning, with wanting to get name drop Peter. And then Alicia rewarded the behaviour with her praise of his "legal" skills, when what he deserved was a kick up the arse!

Nancy66 Fri 25-Jan-13 21:43:47

the Matrix style fight scene with Kalinda felt very out of place.

hope the series gets better - wasn't blown away by the first episode.

LesBOFerables Fri 25-Jan-13 21:45:20

Yes, I have a special loathing for the smug little Florrick juniors.

Bellebelle Fri 25-Jan-13 22:14:47

Didn't think it was a great episode (have no interest whatsoever in the Kalinda story, it was better when she played more of a supporting role). However it felt more like the setting up of some good storylines to come.

I love the music, the chicken type music at the beginining, Mucka Blucka.

I read this .... "In many ways the chicken rap song reminded me of the talking lion phone speaker from season 2, a moment so surreal, funny and poignant that no Good Wife fan can forget it."

www.buddytv.com/articles/the-good-wife/the-good-wife-music-that-chick-47721.aspx

I loved the music while Zac is searching ... Carbon Silicon - The News ...

www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lbu4Of75CAw

Nice to see smug David Lee getting some sort of 'comeupance' sp confused!

I thought (for what it is worth) Zac was stupid and yet brilliantly clever; if my kid did that I would be hopping mad they had emailed that clip and so proud they did all that stuff on line smile IMHO.

Off to bed, before I go in case you missed the talking lion phone and want to see it.....

mindy-tv.blogspot.co.uk/2011/04/where-to-buy-talking-lion-phone-on-good.html

SconeRhymesWithGone Sat 26-Jan-13 01:21:20

TGW is great! I love Alan Cumming's Eli especially. His American accent wobbled a bit in the early days, but it is pitch perfect now.

diddl Sat 26-Jan-13 09:17:03

AC-best part of the show!

Just watched on 4OD & the AD was on-anyone know how to switch it off?

thepeanutsparent Sat 26-Jan-13 19:11:29

diddl argh me too with the audio- so annoying I had no idea what was going on at 1 st. never found how to switch off. Must have been a glitch on the site.

Arithmeticulous Sat 26-Jan-13 19:28:06

grin about David Lee and the mediator ... and what Will said to Diane about needing a man in charge 'no, I just added that to piss you off'

Junior Florricks are awful but Chris Not looked overcooked and once again came over as a twat yelling the odds at that guy on the phone. Given he's so horrible and cheats, why would Alicia want to get back with him?

Bue Sat 26-Jan-13 19:58:01

Arith that was brilliant - my favourite line of the epidsode grin I love feminist Diane! And the mediator is going to be great, I think. Nathan Lane is a terrific character actor.

Chris Noth looks absurd these days!

HalleLouja Mon 28-Jan-13 09:14:40

Alicia seemed peed off that Diane was with Will. Maybe that will be reignited. I liked the Willicia story line. Peter looks odd these days.

The Kalinda story line was odd but they have brought in another English actor I see.

HanneHolm Mon 28-Jan-13 09:16:48

STOP PRESS

has no one mentioned the yellow leather jacket?

HanneHolm Mon 28-Jan-13 09:17:51

kalinda dressed as slaggy as ever and american accent still a but meh

she had a nose job i think

Nancy66 Mon 28-Jan-13 09:31:29

I really hope they don't make Kalinda and her 'dark secrets' a key storyline going forwards. I think she is good as a secondary character - but if she starts having major storylines featuring gangsters etc then I'll be switching off.

flatmouse Tue 29-Jan-13 16:18:55

I really enjoyed the episode. I like that there's a few stories going on at a time. The Florrick kids amused me (but in RL i would be incredibly irritated by them!) and the traffic cop wasn't bad on the eye either! Loved Alicia interview with the odd looking PR lady.

diddl Tue 29-Jan-13 18:20:15

thepeanut-I have just watched something else on 4OD & there was an obvious AD "button" next to the subtitle button.

Didn´t see it when I watched TGW.confused

thepeanutsparent Tue 29-Jan-13 19:13:47

diddl I don't think it was there when we watched as i was fiddling with subtitles and clicking everything to try and get the weird British interloping voice away. Hope they sort it out, though was impressed to see the service being offered at all

diddl Tue 29-Jan-13 19:20:33

Well just looked at TGW again, & there it is!

Maybe there was a blip before.

northender Thu 31-Jan-13 22:44:55

Didnt enjoy tonight's as much. Don't know where the Kalinda story is going and didnt warm to the Maura Tierney character. What's her game?

Not a good episode.

Yuk yul yuk to the ice cream.

tribpot Sat 02-Feb-13 14:14:56

Yes, the ice cream bit was gross.

Maura Tierney's character is a bit left-field. Why on earth would she finance Peter, whose main contribution to women's rights appears to have been funding prostitutes?! Does she think Alicia should run instead (which is not unreasonable)?

Tribpot, agree it is a bit odd. My guess (wonder what other guess but please no spoilers if you know) is she is either:
Someone whose husband who has cheated so she wants to know how to 'stand by her man' (sang in a country and western voice)
or
she want to de-rail his campaign from within
!!!

I looked for this thread before and couldn't find it, it wasn't there and now it is. Bizzare!

AllOverIt Sat 02-Feb-13 17:19:41

Love TGW. Eli is best character, Kalinda is annoying though. Her storyline is boring. Much preferred it when she was obviously gutted about losing Alicia's friendship. It really showed off her acting skills. Wish the actress had been allowed to keep her accent. Especially as her husband is a Brit.

Agree also that small Florrickp

AllOverIt Sat 02-Feb-13 17:24:00

Aaagh! DD pressed send.

Florrick small children are irritating.

Love Diane.

thepeanutsparent Sat 02-Feb-13 19:09:31

Diane for President! Funny seeing another ER face but aside from that a really disappointing episode. Huff.

Want to be watching the moment Diane finds out that Will did not 'dump' Alicia but vice versa!

OK now I can't see the thread again, and am only finding it by searching! Why is that!!

Jbck Tue 05-Feb-13 18:08:31

Just catching up with this.

I wonder if it will come out that Kalinda is hiding her accent in her efforts to hide from him.
Are there some new writers because the violence in the first one, and the ice cream scene in the second, just don't fit with the usual tone. Not bothered by either in the right show but just not here.
Will and Diane have much more chemistry than Willicia, not sexual just better onscreen partnership.
Still hooked so far.

Yes, agree the violence is not in place.

I think it needs to get going a bit. I think the law stuff is what I love. One of my fav episodes was the 'filing' one!!

Can anyone tell me why I can't find this thread without searching for it, please?

tribpot Thu 07-Feb-13 22:02:30

Euw. WHY?

I didn't like the free speech argument, that was obviously silly. Great to see Rita Wilson back in, though!

BOF Fri 08-Feb-13 00:33:18

Have you hidden it by accident, Italian?

I can't wait for them to wrap this crappy Kalinda storyline up, hate hate hate it. But apparently so did all the US viewers, so the writers cut it short.

tribpot Fri 08-Feb-13 07:26:02

oh thank goodness. Glad to know this misery will soon be over.

noddyholder Fri 08-Feb-13 07:30:59

Gone off it this series same with borgen just can't get into either of them.

Don't know what but the thread is back. just out of interest how do you unhide?

I thought last night was not good but then I missed the begining and I was having my hair done so wasn't concentrating 100%. I miss the legal bits, those were the best. These last few have not been so strong on the law, I am in the mould of Crown Court and LA Law, and I want to be wowed!

However, unlike some others I love the kids story line. Especially Grace and her Christian buddy and Zac and his black girlfriend story line and the grandma! Plus Kalinda and Alicia's elusive friendship!

The only bit I am not so keen on is Kalinda's abusive husband and her complicated love life and domestic omlette and ice cream affairs!

What Is going on with an get abusive husband?! I don't get it.... Is she sleeping with him? I'm sure she would just shoot him and dispose of the body if he was just abusing her? And what was that guy that she went ape with a baseball bat on in the last serious series about? Confused to say the least....

Also did Alicia lie about seeing Peter and that campaign girl together in bed? Very sneaky if so. Are all the characters on some sort of drugs this series?......

Nancy66 Sat 09-Feb-13 09:10:56

I'm close to giving up on this show. Always enjoyed it but the whole Kalinda and her husband War of the Roses storyline is not doing it for me.

BOF Sat 09-Feb-13 09:17:35

Utter shit, isn't it? I feel like throwing something through the telly. He isn't even very convincing as a sinister badass- he looks more like someone who would try to flog you stolen clobber from Marks and Spencer than try to flog you, iykwim.

tribpot Sat 09-Feb-13 09:53:25

I'm sure she would just shoot him and dispose of the body if he was just abusing her?

Well I suppose the writers could be highlighting the fact that abuse isn't just about physical or financial power over another person - that even someone as kick-arse as Kalinda could be emotionally abused. Except all the gun play doesn't really tie up with that. And if she's merely biding her time to off him, which seems more likely, some hint to the viewer to confirm that (and explain why) would be better than this sort of vomitous pseudo-sexy drama. Is it in some way linked to the '50 Shades' effect? I've never read the books but isn't there supposed to be a phenomenon exploiting 'rough sex' relationships as a result? In any case - it's shit. And needs to end.

In terms of the bloke she kicked the crap out of last series, that was Blake. And his 'crime' appeared to be hinting that he knew who or where her husband was. Which is why it makes no sense that Kalinda has basically allowed the husband back into her life / to threaten her girlfriend when she was prepared to take such extreme measures against a guy who merely knew the guy last series.

Why would Alicia possibly want to go back to Peter? It all makes no sense.

Arithmeticulous Sat 09-Feb-13 10:14:57

I only half watched that episode- the better bits were the courtroom ones, the mediator and Will/Alicia tension.

Kalinda is hard to feel sorry for (or admire) She only slept with her FBI girlfriend to scare off the totally unscary Marc Warren, and given she could physically take him on, why doesn't she?

SlatternismyMiddlename Sat 09-Feb-13 11:16:25

I normally love TGW but I agree it's going in a strange direction at the moment.

I think the point of Kalinda going from being terrified of being found by husband to shagging him is to show her awareness that he would seem to be her blind spot - she previously had to get away from him because she knew they were destructive together but equally she knew that if he found her this would happen again. Whatever the rationale I don't like it, I want the old Kalinda back.

Please, please do not let Alicia get back with Peter. It makes no sense given the current storyline.

Of course she needs to get back with him, so she can be tempted by Will again....

diddl Sun 10-Feb-13 08:57:21

What a weird episode!

Kalinda?? WTAF??!!

Alicia & Peter?? WTAF??!!

Mind you, I don´t know what she ever saw in Will tbh.

fussychica Sun 10-Feb-13 14:41:20

Kalinda - sex on legs - I would and I'm straight shock

HanneHolm Sun 10-Feb-13 14:42:52

oh kalinda YAWN THE FUCK OFF, she is so irrelevant and so dull.

HanneHolm Sun 10-Feb-13 14:44:58
northender Sun 10-Feb-13 15:52:35

Thank God for that! Thanks for the link. I am simply not interested in that part of the story.
I thought it was better than Ep2 and that Eli was great this week. Hope it picks up soon.

tribpot Sun 10-Feb-13 18:38:31

I'd just like to see Kalinda dressed not as some kind of mid-80s Joan Collins with less permed hair. It still wouldn't make her storyline more interesting, though.

vjg13 Sun 10-Feb-13 19:26:48

I think Kalinda will kill him off eventually, hopefully sooner now if the script writers know it isn't working well.

tribpot Sun 10-Feb-13 19:28:41

Yes, start of next episode wouldn't be too soon for me. Or even him just leaving and never being mentioned again. There's no 'story arc' that needs to be brought to conclusion - exit stage left pursued by a bear.

BookFairy Sun 10-Feb-13 20:21:13

Oh good I'm glad other people agree. I preferred Kalinda when she was more mysterious. I don't like her this season. Hoping the husband disappears soon!

whatphididnext Sun 10-Feb-13 21:06:43

Keeping my place, but nothing to add.

ddil Will is gorgeous!

I finally watched it through properly and not as bad as I thought at first, although it's the law I like and not all Kalinda's shananagins!

The music is good too.

Roll on a new story line romance, who will it be?? Diane??

northender Thu 14-Feb-13 10:04:39

I'm with you on Will Italian. I love the interaction between him and Diane.

Dozer Thu 14-Feb-13 22:03:37

Will is gorgeous! And clever.

And peter is a cheating, bullying, entitled scumbag.

Dozer Thu 14-Feb-13 22:04:09

Diane is fab.

juneau Fri 15-Feb-13 10:46:01

I'm another one who's baffled by the change in Kalinda this season. Bring back the old Kalinda!

I love Diane - actually I love all the show's strong female characters.

Bue Fri 15-Feb-13 15:16:24

Well that was the best episode yet, primarily because Kalinda's bloomin' husband didn't make an appearance! He looks like someone who sells cheap horsemeat out of the back of a van. At any rate this was the first episode that DH hasn't wandered away to practise his golf swing. And he has always been glued to TGW in the past.

Think Diane is my favourite character on television. The Dr Abby Lockhart storyline is awkward and weird though.

northender Fri 15-Feb-13 17:58:28

Thought that was definitely the best ep so far. Peters mum is a great character and Eli's face at the end was priceless. Agree about the Abby Lockhart character though, why is she supporting Peter?

Ooo must remember to watch on catch up.

Good episode, good story, lots of clever lines and of course Diane working well. The judge was an odd ball! All adds to the fun

Bue Sat 16-Feb-13 19:02:37

I was very amused by the judge. I know a lot people don't like that every judge has a quirk, but I also think it's fun.

BookFairy Sat 16-Feb-13 23:03:22

Great episode! I agree that I'm not sure what the deal is with the Abby Lockheart character? Is she trying to get dirt on Alicia? Diane is fantastic smile

I agree with the majority vote about Kalinda and her strange husband. Hopefully there'll be no more mention of him!

tribpot Sun 17-Feb-13 07:17:12

Agreed - I watched it yesterday and didn't realise til this morning that there had been no stupid Kalinda's husband storyline in to spoil it. Woot!

No follow-up on Alicia having kissed Peter, I think i might pretend that never happened.

I loved Diane getting a fire in her belly from a trip to the 27th floor. 'We're going to rebuild our firm. Then we're going to take on Louis Canning. Then we're going to open an office in New York - and DC!' Yeah, bring it on!

northender Thu 21-Feb-13 22:14:22

I enjoyed it again tonight. Apart from Kalindas husband, the characters are great. Thought Eli was fab again tonight. Still slightly bemused by Maura Tierney.
Thought Cary and Will looked hot tonight grin grin

SlatternismyMiddlename Fri 22-Feb-13 11:14:45

Totally agree Northender. There was something very yum about Will and Carey in casual clothes. I didn't think Carey was that hot, until last night!

I do like Kalinda's husband just not the effect he has on her. What in the world is going on with the FBI girlfriend?

Arithmeticulous Fri 22-Feb-13 12:35:13

That was more like it.

bleedingheart Fri 22-Feb-13 15:20:27

I'm a few episodes behind but just wondered what others were thinking of the Kalinda storyline and see most of you think it's shite too.
It makes me very uncomfortable as it risks portraying women as enjoying violence and abuse.
Her character was better when she was a loner with a mysterious back story.
She was supposedly terrified of him turning up and now he's here they fight a bit, have an ice cream and threaten each other with weapons. No real development.

Bue Fri 22-Feb-13 23:20:30

Does anyone else now love domestic dad Lamont Bishop, big time criminal with a heart of gold? grin Poor little Dylan!

tribpot Sat 23-Feb-13 18:35:32

bleedingheart - I think we have all hated the Kalinda storyline, as have audiences in America. I would like to believe this week's ep was the end of it although it hasn't really reached a conclusion, except she appears to have decided randomly not to be in thrall to him any more.

So has Kalinda's gf just been stringing her along to get closer to Bishop? Bit odd.

And Bishop - the murderer and drug dealer / crim-with-a-heart-of-gold - 'no drug dealing in the legit businesses'. Hmm yes!

Bue Sun 24-Feb-13 13:10:30

Sadly I just went through the episode guide on Wikipedia and we're not rid of him yet for several more episodes sad

tribpot Sun 24-Feb-13 18:01:46

Ugh. How much more we can take??? <shakes fist at sky>

BlueSkySunnyDay Mon 25-Feb-13 14:29:41

I really like the actor who plays Kalinda's husband but am not feeling the relationship at all, it would work better if he were just an annoying ex.

Totally feeling Cary in the non work clothes grin

How many other series would make you feel such sympathy for a drug dealer - I admit it I rather like looking at him wink

Love Diane, love that she is an older lady who is not trying to look 20 but is still very attractive.

Seriously love Eli, how he is so scheming and stressed, then SMILES and pretends to be calm (shaking the houseplant, how funny was that!!)

Am very jealous that Juliana Margulies manages to be so pale and attractive at the same time...im just looking pale and ill (need sunshine!)

Love the judges and their quirks I have been missing that this season, along with a lot of the other regular quirky characters who have not shown up (yet?)

Cary. Yes please. Or Mr Bishop. He'll do too wink

northender Fri 01-Mar-13 18:20:12

Another good episode I thought. Peter is in it a lot so far this series. Eli just gets better and now we know what Maura Tierney's up to.

clangermum Sat 02-Mar-13 11:20:00

Yes really strong this week - all the threads interesting and not too much about the annoying Kalinda/husband stuff.

Maura Tierney - didn't see that coming

tribpot Sat 02-Mar-13 13:56:33

Yep, great episode. Nice turn from Amanda Peet - I thought they could have made more of her character. Some proper law stuff and not just melodrama.

HalleLouja Wed 06-Mar-13 19:56:06

Really great episode. Didn't expect Nurse Abi to be such a schemer. Amanda Peet was fab I thought she had a good chemistry with Alicia. I liked Cary too. He is looking rather cute and is having some of the action! grin

I'm missing where Maura Tierney fits in, have I missed an episode?? Last week was the army rape trial right?

I want to see Elsbeth Tascioni back. And Louis Canning!!

SpanishFly Thu 07-Mar-13 08:24:56

anyone noticed kalindas accent getting more English each week? Is this deliberate or just poor acting? *disclaimer - I haven't watched tjis week's yet.

northender Thu 07-Mar-13 11:58:29

I agree re Kalinda's English accent. Italian Maura Tierney is supposedly a feminist businesswoman (not sure what) who hired the floor in the building that Lockhart Gardner vacated I think. She then befriended Alicia, funded Peter for about 24 hours , withdrew from funding Peter and is now standing against him for governor. This poses a problem for the Florrick campaign as Alicia apparently confided in her although I have no recollection as to what was said that may pose a threat. Does that help or make sense? grin

HalleLouja Thu 07-Mar-13 12:10:16

She owns the building that L&g reside I believe.

Ah so Maura Tierney is Maddie Hayward! And Maddie is not very nice, surprise, surprise!

Listmaker Fri 08-Mar-13 11:10:07

Could I ask - is Alicia back with Peter or not? I am not sure if I've just missed something or if it's just being left very unclear. Where do they all live now? We haven't seen them at home recently have we? Didn't Jackie buy their old house? Did they all move in there?

Help!

HalleLouja Fri 08-Mar-13 11:23:12

I think Alicia is still in her flat.

Listmaker Fri 08-Mar-13 12:26:40

Thanks Halle. Do we think the kids are with her there then?

HalleLouja Fri 08-Mar-13 12:39:19

I think so but could be wrong.

clangermum Fri 08-Mar-13 14:13:28

I got from last week's that Maddie befriended Alicia and at some point decided to use the information to run against Peter, but wasn't sure if she only befriended Alicia for that reason.

But from this week's it seems the planning goes back weeks before that. She was behind the newspaper story against Peter, so absolutely everything about her has been calculating. Is that right? Got a phone call at a crucial point.

HalleLouja Fri 08-Mar-13 21:15:12

I heart Amanda Peet she is lovely. Nurse Abi not so lovely.

Cary is getting sexier by the episode.

Bue Sat 09-Mar-13 13:33:36

Spanish, YES Kalinda's accent is as bad as it always has been, if not actually getting worse. Seriously, get this actress some voice coaching! She couldn't pronounce a hard 'r' if her life depended on it.

I thought Amanda Peet was going to end up working for Louis Canning! Hope he's coming back soon, by the way, and I hope we are going to return to Lamont Bishop's case.

Christina Ricci was specatcularly unfunny. I'm not sure if that was intentional.

tribpot Sat 09-Mar-13 18:37:38

I heart Amanda Peet too. I'm glad last week's ep was just to introduce her. Although ... couldn't you picture her ending up with Peter because she obviously isn't interested in him or his world? I could imagine that being quite compelling for him.

Cary's backstory was good - and no bloody Mr Kalinda thank god!

The Maddie revelation was unexpected, I thought she was sincere about having only just decided to get in the race.

Christina Ricci - rubbish 'shocker' jokes, and a character that never really made any sense.

SpanishFly Tue 12-Mar-13 15:00:20

Hated this episode. Hate when they have a famous guest star and make it all a bit silly

northender Tue 12-Mar-13 17:39:14

I liked the episode apart from the silly "comic" bits. Am becoming torn between Will and Cary but Cary has won for the last couple of weeks grin. Liked him playing things straight while Alicia used her influence with Peter.

SpanishFly Tue 12-Mar-13 18:20:11

ugh, Will is NOT attractive - why do so few of you believe me?!! smile
I always thought Cary was sweet, but lately I've revised that to "hot"...

I just hated that Cristina Ricci's acting was AWFUL, tho jokes were cringey, etc etc. And Alicia saying she found some of her jokes funny didnt seem believable, really. And the jokey car horns blaring every time she said something rude in court - it was just all silly, not what we're expecting from this show. It was just all a bit Ally McBeal.

Thank heavens for no Marc Warren this week, though.

AllOverIt Wed 13-Mar-13 13:09:41

I agree Spanish, Will is not attractive. At all.

Cary on the other hand....! wink

Hate the Kalinda husband storyline.

Love it when Alicia gets the giggles <girl crush>

I can't believe that the blond in the Good Wife was that dark hairded girl from mermaids, Christina Ricci! What a surprise! No surprise on the Maddie thing, knew she was up to no good.

Tonight! Shock horror. Poor Cary, I know it's not real but please get that bastard husband of Kalinda's out of there. TOO crap for words!

Tonight's storyline was good.

I recognise this week's judge, who was he??

Not one of the famous ones!

www.buddytv.com/slideshows/the-good-wife/the-good-wife-most-memorable-judges-36463.aspx

Oh yes, Independence Day.

fiftyval Fri 15-Mar-13 11:39:06

Italiangreyhound - last night's judge was Judd Hirsch who was in 'Taxi'

Ah yes! Thank you fiftyval.

Have just started watching Nashville but it's not nearly as good as the Good Wife. The clues in the name!

AllOverIt Sat 16-Mar-13 07:56:18

Poor Cary sad

tribpot Sat 16-Mar-13 16:06:18

Best review of the Kalinda storyline from Kalinda herself

Will - you've been absent from work
Her - personal stuff. Boring.

YOU GOT THAT RIGHT, LADY.

And now she's sleeping with him again? I thought she told him to go f**k himself? Methinks this may be due to dodgy editing in order to get the story to end quicker.

AllOverIt Sun 17-Mar-13 16:59:48

I haven't chatted to anyone who likes the Kalinda storyline. It's pants!

SpanishFly Mon 18-Mar-13 23:37:26

It's horrendous. And him being jealous of Cary kind of appeared from nowhere. It's all a bit shoddy.

tribpot Tue 19-Mar-13 07:46:40

I guess they wanted him to do something for which he could then be banged up / removed from the plot. But why not just make him GO AWAY? Blake vanished without explanation simply for mentioning this tosser's existence!

SpanishFly Tue 19-Mar-13 07:51:52

Hopefully that's what happens next. Pleeeease don't drag out a court case. Cary doesn't know hes kalinda's husband, does he?

tribpot Tue 19-Mar-13 11:30:40

No, no-one knows except Alicia. But more to the point: no-one cares! God this must be one of the worst plots ever.

I'm glad you're all finding the Kalinda story so boring. I thought it was just me! I love Kalinda, and at the end of last series I'm sure she was scared of the husband turning up. Now he's turned up, they've had a few aggressive tussles and are apparently back together?

It is boring and serves no purpose. I also don't especially like the actor playing him even though up until ten minutes ago I thought it was Neil Stuke

I want to see more of Grace and <insert the son's name here>

BookFairy Tue 19-Mar-13 22:15:21

Great episode, aside from Kalinda's husband. I agree that he should just slope off quietly with no further mention of his existence. I like the new Grace story. I sense something is going to happen with the school bad boy/loner/heart throb. Interesting moment at the end with Alicia and Grace sitting together. The Good Wife does those heavy with meaning moments v well.

Bue Tue 19-Mar-13 22:37:27

tribpot grin Bang on! I am pretty sure we've only got a couple of hubby episodes left though.

I have such a girl crush on Amanda Peet. I can't believe she is 41!

I found last week's episode interesting because I think it's the first time I have ever actively disliked the Lockhart Gardner gang. We are conditioned to always be on their side, and yet, although they were legally correct, I found their actions in forcing Cary's 'friend' and the woman from AA to testify pretty despicable. Anyone else think the decision to pursue the judge is going to seriously come back to bite them in the ass with the judicial community?

HalleLouja Thu 21-Mar-13 12:56:36

Amanda Peet is 41 - I want her secret!

SpanishFly Thu 21-Mar-13 17:03:42

She REALLY reminds me of Sarah Jessica Parker - she doesn't really LOOK like her but her mannerisms, build, hair etc are v like her

VictorTango Thu 21-Mar-13 17:05:53

They cut Kalinidas husband out of it three episodes early because of viewers hating the story line. So not long left!

HalleLouja Sat 23-Mar-13 14:42:19

Whoop. I do quite like the actor who plays her husband he was in Hustle and I liked Hustle especially Adrian Lester.

The bit with the high supreme judge on TV at the end was good. Not sure I am a fan of P & A getting back together. Am in team Willicia.

SpanishFly Mon 25-Mar-13 10:25:23

Yeah Marc Warren. He's great in Mad Dogs (starting again 1st April btw!)

HalleLouja Mon 25-Mar-13 11:24:57

Is Mad Dogs worth a watch?

LornaEds Mon 25-Mar-13 13:57:09

I really enjoyed Mad Dogs, didn't realise it was back on so thanks for that Spanishfly.
Marc Warren was great in the first series, although I preferred John Simm myself!

SpanishFly Mon 25-Mar-13 16:53:08

Yes it's worth watching. The first series was better than the second, but you'd need to watch from the start as it's quite a complex storyline.
Ive just checked the sky schedules and Pick TV are showing the first episode of the first series on Thursday, so possibly they're repeating the lot before series 3 starts

SpanishFly Mon 25-Mar-13 16:54:00

Lorna, I preferred him too - I hadnt found him attractive til I saw him in Mad Dogs

great story last week.

Nospringchickendipper Fri 29-Mar-13 13:44:16

Did anyone watch last nights episode,do you think Kalinda has done something to her husband.

She was sure he wouldn't come back.

Bajas Fri 29-Mar-13 14:17:04

I hope so. Then we'll never have to see him again grin

Loved that it was Jackie looking up the condoms- that poor carer!

SpanishFly Fri 29-Mar-13 15:01:12

Stockard Channing's plastic surgery! !! Horrendous.

LornMowa Fri 29-Mar-13 15:04:58

Perhaps I'm not very tuned into American sensibilities but did anyone think that it seemed very out of character for Alicia to get so worried that someone was ChumHumming (Their name for Googling) condoms?

Are Americans so protective of their children that they don't think it appropriate for children who are well into their teens to know about such things?

nailak Fri 29-Mar-13 15:08:16

She didn't have an issue with them googling condoms, she just wanted to talk to her kids about sex if they were planning to have sex.

tribpot Fri 29-Mar-13 20:06:05

Yup, far too much plot just to push Kalinda's husband off a bridge or something. Don't know, don't care - they can drag it back up as a murder plot being investigated by the FBI or summat in a few series time.

Is the whole 'two people being tried AND found guilty' thing actually plausible? Wouldn't the other's guilty verdict immediately nullify the first? I don't think the moral dilemma of defending the guilty client was very well explored, given they've only just seen Bishop banged up.

Bue Fri 29-Mar-13 21:33:54

Soooo... where do you think Kalinda hid the body?

Spanish, yes Stockard Channing looks tragic! Such a waste sad

I didn't understand how two people could be concurrently tried for the same crime at all. Is this some weird American quirk of justice?

And FWIW I thought it was quite in character for Alicia to be worried about condom googling. I don't think she's a 'right on' mom who would be thrilled with her kids having sex, I think she's pretty conservative when it comes to the kids.

BOEUF Fri 29-Mar-13 21:38:45

Jackie's carer is so after a big bequest in her will. It will be a tough gig if Alicia opposes it though.

I don't give a shit if Kalinda killed her husband, as long as we never have to see him again. She should have done it weeks ago: he was about as menacing as a 12 year old after your dinner money.

northender Fri 29-Mar-13 23:03:13

And what about Will and the ex army woman?? How will Alicia react to them getting close? Quick comment to mark my place!

BOEUF Fri 29-Mar-13 23:50:40

Oh, they are definitely going to get it on! Alicia seems to be giving her marriage a go though. God knows why- he is quite repulsive.

HappyDogRedDogToss Sun 31-Mar-13 21:52:28

Will and Amanda Peet seemed to be using that trial as emotional foreplay. I didn't get the two trials thing either, and I didn't like the way Will went for it knowing the guy was guilty.

Luckily that's the last we'll see of Kalinda's husband- perhaps she'll regain control of her accent without him distracting her.

Bajas Fri 05-Apr-13 12:40:24

Cracking episode last night. Love Michael J Fox's character and looks like he'll be in it for a while to come grin

northender Fri 05-Apr-13 18:02:52

I thought this was easily the best episode this series so far. I'm loving the different dynamic this series with Lockhart Gardner so much on the back foot. It started a bit last series with the Will suspension story but much more so this time round.

tribpot Tue 09-Apr-13 22:52:01

The return of the Fox. LOVE IT. Would have been a nice touch if his real wife had played his telly wife in this ep but hey ho.

Surprised Alicia wasn't more suspicious of why she seemed to have the upper hand in the whole encounter with Canning. They never really win against him.

Evil Lewis Canning!! Northerner yes agree it was the best or at least one of the best this season.

Such lovely scenery.

Nasty meanies, lovely Cary, helpful Kalinda arriving with a bottle of wine and no sadistic hubby, Alicia looking radient and a cracking case. What more could we want. Except maybe Cary doing some sport work out as well!

polyhymnia Thu 11-Apr-13 12:52:53

Have only picked this up in this series and am loving it. Reasonably easy to work out who's who and a bit of their back stories.

Must say I agree that Alicias husband/ex is repulsive. Am one of the few people in the world who didn't really watch Sex and the City but I presume that if SJP was so keen on him, he was a bit more attractive in that??

tribpot Thu 11-Apr-13 20:58:21

He wasn't as repulsive in that, although it was a somewhat baffling relationship in that she chucked away a good man because Big came a-calling. Fortunately they managed to pair her up with someone truly appalling (not to mention up his own arse) in the final series, so you were rooting for Big to come and rescue her smile As for the films, we Do Not Speak Of Them.

I think he's good at playing that kind of politician - somewhat old school now, a bit too obviously in love with himself. But steely and not afraid of a good old barney. God knows what Alicia sees in him - perhaps they will play the same trick and pair her up with someone appalling so we want Big/Peter to come and save her, too!

tribpot Fri 12-Apr-13 22:45:46

Always good to see Elspeth making an appearance! Mad as ever but sharp as a razor.

northender Sat 13-Apr-13 07:21:23

Agreed. Elspeth and Eli should be entertaining.

tribpot Sat 13-Apr-13 07:22:53

I don't get why Alicia seems to be using Peter for sex at the moment. Why not Will?!

Loved all the Olympic nonsense, I was worried at first when they said 'this isn't like American court' that it was just going to be like when they do military court and have no idea how to handle it. But very entertaining in a silly way.

sarahandemily Sat 13-Apr-13 07:41:40

Loved it this week, especially elspeth (what a great sounding name - think I might name change to it). Peter is looking really rough these days he was never my type but I could see that others might find him attractive but now. Eurgh - sweaty, losing his hair, flabby. What is Alicia doing

HalleLouja Sat 13-Apr-13 09:29:35

I am happy to use Will for sex if she isn't interested grin.

DinoSnores Sat 13-Apr-13 10:26:34

The character is called ElsBeth, rather than ElsPeth, but I agree it is a lovely name. It is a Scottish version of Elizabeth, and I would have loved to have used it but it really wouldn't work with our surname.

LadyMountbatten Sat 13-Apr-13 10:36:27

BEST EPISODE ever this week

YoniOneWayOfLife Sat 13-Apr-13 19:05:51

The actor that plays Diane is very good at subtle comedy.

Peter on the other hand is just greasy and why on earth would she go there?

tribpot Sat 13-Apr-13 19:06:02

I did wonder if they were deliberately over-pronouncing the name, to make the point that it is Elsbeth rather than Elspeth. But figured a nation that can't even say Bernard properly didn't have much chance of getting Elspeth right wink

Bue Sat 13-Apr-13 19:55:38

That episode was AMAZING. The doping court was absolute comedy and I am so excited that Elsbeth will be representing Eli - she is going to drive him mental grin

Diane was also wonderful as usual - but why was she speaking in a fake English accent? confused I think the peppering of French throughout was confusing her!

tribpot Sat 13-Apr-13 20:02:08

I think Diane had moved herself up the social scale a few notches when she discovered her fine command of the French language.

northender Sun 14-Apr-13 09:15:15

The whole sex with Peter thing is just YUK!!

AllOverIt Sun 21-Apr-13 08:03:25

Any one watch this week's episode. I thought it was a corker...

tribpot Sun 21-Apr-13 08:10:22

Yep, liked it. Although I notice that Alicia still had to get in a one-liner about wanting to shag Peter. Is this the new 'Kalinda's Husband', the storyline no-one wants to see?

Always good to see the Fox in action, but the whole 'get the fourth years to buy in to the failing business' thing is a bit evil. If any of them can raise 600 grand (other than by asking their rich but hideous husbands) they can't afford to risk it on a company in bankruptcy but they can't afford to turn the partnership offer down either sad

diddl Sun 21-Apr-13 09:21:42

Eli & Elsbeth-can`t wait!!!

Love,love, love Alan Cumming!

AllOverIt Sun 21-Apr-13 12:05:57

I loved Diane's face as she watched Alicia fake her way round the room. She's such a good actress.

I thought last week's episode (French speaking Olympic one) was fantastic and then this week's was just as good!

Agree, Alicia is crazy to go back to hubby, think something happened to make her want (last season) but can't remember what it was? Him getting kids into a good school? Sounds crazy but I think something happened to make her like him again (???).

YoniOneWayOfLife Thu 25-Apr-13 21:46:29

Whoops grin

This is really getting good again!

northender Thu 25-Apr-13 23:37:37

Thought tonight's episode was fab.

BOF Thu 25-Apr-13 23:39:49

It was great- I thought Cary was lovely in it.

SpringMoreLikeSag Fri 26-Apr-13 19:15:07

Ooh ooh ooooh! What was that look that Alicia exchanged with Carey right at the end of the episode at the end of the congratulations? Is something afoot?

BOF Fri 26-Apr-13 20:08:09

I think he was just wishing her well and feeling sad that they wouldn't be setting up together. She was probably feeing a bit shifty for behaving like a backstabbing worm.

Dozer Fri 26-Apr-13 21:16:19

I have been naughtily reading spoilers, season finale on sunday in the states, am going to have to find out what happens!

IMO she should help peter to win the election, then go back to the lovely will.

Am v envious of her office power wardrobe and looks, despite never being seen at the gym, maybe it's the unrequited love / tequila that does it!

tribpot Sat 27-Apr-13 16:42:29

Alicia and Cary setting up a rival firm (backed by Michael J Fox?) would be epic.

On the other hand, Alicia and Will back together, even if it means enduring more scenes of her shagging in toilet cubicles, has to be a good thing.

Oh Alicia, no no no no no no.... don't walk all over Cary he is tooooo cute.

can't believe the firm are being so shitty, think Cary and Alicia would kick ass!!

Yes, it is getting better and better....

Elspeth rock, if I were in trouble I would want her on my side.....

AllOverIt Sun 28-Apr-13 20:19:35

Just caught up with this.

Can't believe Alicia shat on Carey, well I can believe it as she's a lawyer and they're pretty ruthless generally, but still. It's CAREY. I LOVE HIM blush

tribpot Mon 29-Apr-13 12:15:56

We surely can't imagine that Cary wouldn't have done the same - the guy is a total weasel after all. But they must have discussed with the other fourth years what to do if the partners tried to pull off a 'divide and conquer'. Plus there was always the risk that Alicia would get the nod purely for being married to the reptilian Peter.

Quenelle Mon 29-Apr-13 12:32:00

I'm really enjoying this season now.

I was surprised at the turn of events last week. But I did roll my eyes when she and Will did that passionate, mid-argument snog. It was very cliched.

It's a shame she and Will have been set against each other again, I like both characters. But maybe they want us to see that Alicia Florrick actually has a ruthless, ambitious side to her character?

Maybe one day, not this season or next, but soon, Alicia Florrick will run for Governor...?

Quenelle Mon 29-Apr-13 12:32:44

Not Will, Carey. I like Alicia and Carey.

tribpot Mon 29-Apr-13 12:38:10

It'd be awesome if Maddy won and then offered Alicia Deputy Governor.

Quenelle Mon 29-Apr-13 12:47:53

She's got to get into politics soon, surely? It seems such a natural progression when you think about her current status and all her connections?

Bue Mon 29-Apr-13 13:29:43

I think we have to remember that at the end of the day, these people are top lawyers in a cut throat environment. They are ultimately out for themselves. (Apologies to any lawyers here, no offence meant! grin) Carey would have done the same, as he told Alicia. But it was so touching and sad at the end when they exchanged looks through the glass. Also Canning, Florrick, Agos and Associates would be epic!

Top episode, it hasn't been this good in aaaaaaaages!

It's got totally good again. I love Cary!! I think Cary might have really wanted to go out on his own.

MunchkinsMumof2 Thu 02-May-13 09:49:13

Phew, The Good Wfe's got its mojo back, I was wondering whether to give up on it but last week's episode was fab.

Comedy moment, the shared sneezing, a bit like the ring tone incident a long way back! Elspeth rules. Josh Creepy. Carey, I just want to give you a hug!

tribpot Fri 03-May-13 20:34:35

Urgh the Sex and the City reunion is not going well. Big awful, the dreadful Trey MacDougal even more mad and creepy-smooth than before.

Will flirting with Laura Hellinger about 15 seconds after snogging Alicia? Urgh. Alicia agreeing to date night with Peter? Urgh.

Plus I could not follow the two court cases at all - I have got a bad cold so perhaps that's why but it didn't make a hell of a lot of sense.

Kalinda's English accent seems to be coming on apace - they might as well write it into the plot. She adopted an American accent when on the run from He Who Must Not Be Named, now he's <cough> gone away she can revert to her usual accent.

SlatternismyMiddlename Sat 04-May-13 10:55:47

I loved the last episode. I am wondering if I'm in the minority by wanting Alicia and Will to get back together. I just don't understand how she could contemplate getting back with Peter after he had affairs.

I thought Elspeth was very funny and liked her interaction with Josh.

I will volunteer to give Carey the big hug he obviously needs. the sacrifices I make for mumsnet

Nehru Sat 04-May-13 10:57:09

I thought this weeks was weak.

PLus Elspeth is being overused

tribpot Sat 04-May-13 11:11:03

Yes, I thought Elsbeth was not as well-written this week. A bit too much quirkiness and not enough of the razor-sharp intelligence that goes along with it.

I would quite like to see Alicia and Will make a go of it as a public couple. Ideally though Alicia would just bloody divorce the lizard man and have done.

northender Thu 09-May-13 16:18:56

Hoping for a sharper episode tonight......

BOF Fri 10-May-13 00:14:18

It was a cracking episode tonight, I thought. I'm looking forward to seeing more of the new investigator.

HalleLouja Fri 10-May-13 14:58:04

Kalinda needs to snog Cary or I will. Also the Alicia and Peter story line needs to stop!

That's all.

HalleLouja Fri 10-May-13 14:58:21

Apart from that I loved it.

MunchkinsMumof2 Fri 10-May-13 22:05:34

Another cracker last night, I'm glad it's back on form.

Good episode but sort of creepy, creepy, creepy!

Love the way they play with expectations! young black lawyer is actually old fuddy white guy who looks like butter wouldn't melt but could be angel of death!!!

HalleLouja Fri 24-May-13 10:18:34

Alicia choose Will! That is all.

northender Sat 25-May-13 09:22:25

I know hallelouja, I agree but the choice isn't really there anymore is it? Thought this week's episode was good, did we hear Diane's decision in the end? Think I missed a bit, may have to go back and recap....

HalleLouja Sat 25-May-13 16:57:53

I don't think we saw the decision. I was thinking that too.

SlatternismyMiddlename Sat 25-May-13 17:18:57

I agree, chose Will.

I thought it was a good episode. John Noble, as always, was great.

tribpot Sat 25-May-13 18:25:59

One of The Good Wife's surreal episodes. We never found out who murdered the client, did we?

I did like Big punching Chandler, though.

I'm lost, what did Diane have to decide?

The dog lover killed the man, Kalinda spotted a dog-ball-throwing-thing (not it's real name) in the car of the man who sent the killer.

northender Wed 29-May-13 15:06:42

Whether to accept the judge position Peter was offering.

BlingLoving Wed 29-May-13 16:31:08

I completely missed that we didn't get the Dianne decision. But it's a no brainer surely? Are we getting to the end of this season now? We must be.

I hope Alicia and Cary are friends again soon. It's all a bit ridiculous currently.

Thanks Northerner I did hear that bit but just forgot it!

I actually came into the episode half way through then watched it from the beginning and it was totally confusing!

Dozer Wed 29-May-13 22:32:43

I enjoyed it but thought alicia was odd and superior to will in the police station.

What was with cary grabbing kalinda's thigh?

The teenagers are just too square! I guess they're trying to avoid cliches about teens, and not sure how old they're meant to be, but it'd be nice change if one of them got drunk or whatever!

BranchingOut Fri 31-May-13 18:54:06

I do really enjoy the series and it is the only thing I am following at the moment. But it is difficult to see where it is going.

I wonder if Alicia will end up exactly as she was before, back with Peter and living in the old house as wife to the states attorney/governor?

springytate Sat 01-Jun-13 22:52:43

First time I didn't enjoy it. Getting too 'obvious' somehow (they're believing their own hype?), cocksure. I'm tiring of the 'slick lawyers' stuff [LOL]. Dianne's ridiculousness with check shirt guy was cringeable.

And I actually thought 'Tart!' re Alicia keeping both Will and Peter on the boil <puritan>

Ponks Sun 02-Jun-13 18:25:42

Only just caught the last episode on catch up. Love this programme. Didn't Alicia look gorgeous in her ballgown?

springytate Sun 02-Jun-13 22:12:36

No! not imo, anyway. Ropey and far too thin

Bue Mon 03-Jun-13 14:21:42

I keep on wondering if they're setting us up for an alcoholic storyline with the constant focus on Alicia's red wine habit. More likely they're just trying to show a realistic portrayal of a harried working mother in a high powered job! grin

Really wondering about Dianne, check shirt guy and marriage...

And the Will-Amanda Peet storyline went nowhere fast. What was even the point?

HalleLouja Sat 08-Jun-13 10:11:48

Oh Alicia does have sense and is looking at Will.

Cary is going to get found out soon. I hope he is in the next series.

RavenVonChaos Sat 08-Jun-13 19:46:35

Why was Alicia shivering?

SlatternismyMiddlename Sat 08-Jun-13 20:39:19

I wondered that too Raven - I felt that I had missed a scene, especially as she was so rattled when her daughter said Will phoned.

I though I was good episode but was a bit disappointed at a quick ending.

RavenVonChaos Sun 09-Jun-13 00:02:52

Maybe she's coming down with a touch of flu....wish she would just get it on with Will!

PoppyAmex Wed 12-Jun-13 12:50:39

I'm sure someone has said this a few times, but the wardrobe department is doing a fab job - Alicia wears some seriously smart separates!

Bue Wed 12-Jun-13 12:59:16

I didn't understand the shivering either.

lilibet Wed 12-Jun-13 13:17:53

I didn't know there was a thread for this and I find out two weeks before the end of the series angry

I really hope that Daine gets married to Gary Cole's character, [sorry. memory lapse!] I think they are very good together.

doings Wed 12-Jun-13 14:43:15

I think its all shaping up nicely for the next series.

Cary will have set up rival firm - they need a new adversary as MJFox's Parkinson's is getting too advanced.

Diane's going to get the Judge job and that'll cause probs when Will's up in front of her as she's got to fall out with him and his reputation before getting the job.

Think new detective girl will be standing in for Kalinda as she goes off on different different acting jobs for next season (she's in The Fall at the mo).

Think the Will/Alicia story is wet and will be sidestepped for other storylines next series.

That's my twopenny's worth anyway

tribpot Sat 15-Jun-13 11:25:14

Further urgh-ing that Alicia would consider renewing vows with Peter. WHY?

Seems like they might be setting Alicia up to consider going with Cary - whilst hopefully still getting together with Will to avoid the horror of being married to Peter.

HalleLouja Mon 17-Jun-13 10:37:11

Go Alicia's mum. She has sense.

I wonder if Cary will set up his new company. Next series would be good if he did. I think we see more of him when he is an adversary to Lockhart Gardener and that has to be a good thing.

I quite like the new investigator and hope they bring back Amanda Peet and the fact that she split up with Will doesn't mean she is gone for good.

HalleLouja Mon 17-Jun-13 10:38:20

I like Owen too. He was funny at the start.

BadSkiingMum Mon 17-Jun-13 12:01:30

I think that Will might be gearing up to propose to Alicia.

northender Mon 17-Jun-13 20:20:01

BSM really, you think he'll propose? that would be a good cliffhanger I suppose.

I've warmed to Owen, used to irritate me but I like him now.

Think it may be the last episode this week sad

tribpot Mon 17-Jun-13 20:27:08

Yes - last episode. I'm delighted to see that Martha Plimpton is back, love her as Patty Nyholm.

Dozer Mon 17-Jun-13 22:35:50

Really don't like the going back to Peter storyline, no proper reasons shown, except that she doesn't want to be like her mum.

I worry that I'm a bit like patty nyholm at work! blush

HalleLouja Tue 18-Jun-13 18:20:38

What are we going to do when the Good Wife is over? Thankfully I have Netflix and 24 to entertain me.

TracyK Tue 18-Jun-13 19:57:47

Scandal is back when good wife finishes I think.

Dozer Thu 20-Jun-13 23:11:34

Excellent finale! Setting up for good drama next series. Bah to having to wait with nothing decent to watch in the meantime.

Wish I had as good a wardrobe!

northender Thu 20-Jun-13 23:19:37

Thought it was a cracking finale too. Plenty for the next series to work on. Will vs Alicia in court with Diane presiding?
I'm going to try Scandal I think to fill the hole that this leaves.

HalleLouja Fri 21-Jun-13 13:55:17

When and where Scandal on?

What are we going to do without Alicia and Co until it comes back?

It was a great ending. I was surprised Will didn't grass on Peter who I thought was being a dick but no change there. Maybe Alicia wanted a bit of space from him.

Hopefully this doesn't mean less Diane time. She is awesome.

The judge yesterday made me giggle and so did the rival lawyer whose baby seemed to disappear half way through the episode.

Bue Sun 30-Jun-13 11:26:11

Have just seen the finale. Wow, that was epic! Next year will be very interesting, presumably with time split between Florrick Agos and Lockhart Gardner (and all the court battles that will ensue).

Nice to see breastfeeding promoted too grin I just love Patty Nyholm.

I didn't quite understand what is going on with Jackie's nurse though. The concerns about him seemed to come out of nowhere.

I loved it, dear old Zack confused but wanting to do the right thing. I love the law!! I will miss it so much. Is there a scandal thread??

Bue Mon 06-Jan-14 23:43:18

Does anyone happen to know the start date? The Good Wife premiere is my favourite thing about January!
