Ooh er creepy...!

VolumeOfACone Sun 18-Nov-12 21:24:02

Why I thought it was a good idea to watch this alone I have no idea.

I am scared too.... Eek... Verrrry creepy!

legoqueen Sun 18-Nov-12 21:27:57

Anyone know where this is filmed...very atmospheric!

thekidsrule Sun 18-Nov-12 21:49:54

im gripped

3b1g Sun 18-Nov-12 21:51:37

I'm watching it in the background: too scared to give it my full attention. The girl from Game of Thrones is good in it.

3b1g Sun 18-Nov-12 21:52:24

There's not enough of Tom Ellis...

MadameBoolala Sun 18-Nov-12 21:53:03

It's making me so sad sad

60sname Sun 18-Nov-12 21:54:27

Wow, that is some wooden acting!

BigFatSpider Sun 18-Nov-12 21:57:51

I just shat my pants when his face appeared. Jeez.

DuchessofMalfi Sun 18-Nov-12 21:59:16

Scary - I'm gripped. DH read the book recently.

F1rstT1meMummy Sun 18-Nov-12 22:03:00

Shit scared!!! I'm never going to sleep nowblush

LakeFlyPie Sun 18-Nov-12 22:03:15

What channel are you on?

Wasn't sure whether to watch it, the scary playground scene was filmed in the park next door shock

F1rstT1meMummy Sun 18-Nov-12 22:05:34

It was on bbc1- but will be on I player wink

colleysmill Sun 18-Nov-12 22:07:04

I may not sleep ever again. Why I watch these things I'll never know.

AuntFini Sun 18-Nov-12 22:08:00

Does anyone know the ending and could PM it to me? I'm creeped out and hate any sort of horror, but I'm watching it as my lovely dad did some filming as an extra. I was hoping his bit would be in it today but it seems not! So I'll have to watch the next two episodes and I'll feel better about it if I know what happens.

It is brilliant though, really really good

Vagndidit Sun 18-Nov-12 22:13:28

Was it good? I couldn't get past the first 5 minutes as I left the room in tears over the thought of that sweet little boy missing (Am massive hormonal and thought the boy looked like my son...) sad

wellilikemytwinklinglights Sun 18-Nov-12 22:13:43

I've just finished watching it as I had paused it and now my tv just gone off and won't cone back on! Now I'm creeped out!
It's okay but the book is fab

incogneetow Sun 18-Nov-12 22:16:33

legoqueen - it was filmed somewhere near Chapel-en-le-Frith in Derbyshire.

It was very spooky/scary: seriously disturbing. I prefer Douglas Henshall playing a taciturn goodie though (with a Scottish accent).

elah11 Sun 18-Nov-12 22:19:40

Just watched the first episode, I loved it!! The little girl in it really reminded me of the kid who plays Karen in Outnumbered smile

SinisterBuggyMonth Sun 18-Nov-12 22:21:01

I've recorded it and, after a quick glance on here, made dp promise to watch it with me

MrsTomHardy Sun 18-Nov-12 22:22:39

Omg I can't believe I've missed this!!!!!!!!!

MrsTomHardy Sun 18-Nov-12 22:23:15

How can I watch it????
I player??? Help!!!!

wellilikemytwinklinglights Sun 18-Nov-12 22:24:56

Is the little girl from the Oreo advert?

CanYouHearMe Sun 18-Nov-12 22:25:31

I'm glad it wasn't Karen. Lovely little actress but voice grates on me.

DuchessofMalfi Sun 18-Nov-12 22:25:54

That was good. But I'm watching a comedy to calm down now so I can sleep grin.

KenDoddsDadsDog Sun 18-Nov-12 22:26:46

It was good !

edam Sun 18-Nov-12 22:28:13

ooh, I thought it was the Peak District, am oddly pleased I was right. Laughed at the way they all went to bed in separate rooms after the scary goings on - I'd have been insisting on everyone sleeping in the same room, if not the same bed! Missed the start so didn't see what appears to have been the most harrowing part.

BigFatSpider Sun 18-Nov-12 22:28:14

Here you are smile Next episode next Sunday at 9.00pm, BBC1.

MrsTomHardy Sun 18-Nov-12 22:29:16

Thank you smile

I really enjoyed it. Just the right mix of incredibly creepy with a good story.

I hope I remember to watch it next week.

YY to not going back to bed in separate rooms though!

bruffin Sun 18-Nov-12 22:32:39

Yes it is the little girl from the oreo advert.

Dillydollydaydream Sun 18-Nov-12 22:34:26

I'm going to have to watch this. I've read the book so I know what happens though. It's not too scary I hope?!

Very creepy. <Mentally takes stock of all ghost weapons in the house>

MacAndCheese Sun 18-Nov-12 22:44:18

What happens in the book?!

legoqueen Sun 18-Nov-12 23:18:48

Thanks incogneetow, I thought Yorkshire but my husband thought Derbyshire...both with similar buildings & geographical features. I couldn't watch this if I was home alone, it's haunting & sad on so many levels...

PenguinBear Sun 18-Nov-12 23:36:42

Anyone read the book and able to message me the ending please?

MrsTomHardy Sun 18-Nov-12 23:48:48

Omg...just watched it on my own on my iPhone in the dark grin

Loved it!
Didn't know it was a book too

Blondeshavemorefun Mon 19-Nov-12 16:04:21

clashed with celeb, but marking place and will watch on sky planner hopefully tomorrow

working tonight and not sure brave enough to watch in a darkened room via my iphone

dont want to squeal and wake my babies grin

MrsTomHardy Mon 19-Nov-12 16:43:37

It was great tho, can't wait for next episode

Crocklebog Mon 19-Nov-12 20:22:38

It looks like it was filmed in a place called Downham (I was brought up round there), which is Lancashire.

Yes, enjoyed this, nice and creepy. Though I couldn't figure out why when the older daughter had seen the ghost, they all went back to their separate rooms to sleep. Wouldn't you all sleep in the same room after that?

germyrabbit Mon 19-Nov-12 21:45:14

i quite liked it but hope it doesn't turn into the film 'the orphanage'.

MrsTomHardy Mon 19-Nov-12 22:42:55

Yeah I thought that Notgood

Like hell would I go back to sleep full stop.

edam Mon 19-Nov-12 23:03:42

imdb says filmed in Greater Manchester, so Crockle's probably closest to the actual location.

edam Mon 19-Nov-12 23:05:14

They weren't very bothered about their dog going missing, either. I mean, I'm sure if you've lost a child it puts losing a dog into perspective but you'd expect some concern, maybe even added anguish because the kids have already lost their brother and now the ruddy dog's gone too!

AitchTwoOhOneTwo Tue 20-Nov-12 20:14:17

i couldn't watch it, had to switch it off. it was nasty, obvious and exploitative imo. fair enough on ITV...

Oblomov Tue 20-Nov-12 20:19:41

Agree with Edam, couldn't work out why they didn't make more if the dog going missing. Can't see where they are going with this, though. Is it going to be a total anti-climax and totally naff-ola?

edam Tue 20-Nov-12 20:21:22

I suppose you could get hold of the Herbert story, but I'd rather wait for the next episode, don't want to spoil it!
