AndiMac Sun 18-Nov-12 13:01:44

Just starting a new thread before tonight's elimination, as I'm sure we'll all have something to say about that.

Mrsjay Sun 18-Nov-12 13:05:17

oh fabulous grin just marking my spot

Oodthunkit Sun 18-Nov-12 13:18:20

Thanks andi smile

AndiMac Sun 18-Nov-12 13:42:41

Rather excited, it's the first time I've started a sequel thread. smile blush

WrathdePan Sun 18-Nov-12 13:58:57

Admiring the thread step-ball-change Andi.

sassytheFIRST Sun 18-Nov-12 14:01:24

Surely it's got to be Richard tonight. I'd have said Victoria as well (esp as she didn't dance that well) but after the blatent attempt at getting sympathy with the Olympic Hero-themed costume and set, she'll prob stay.

Mrsjay Sun 18-Nov-12 14:03:19

but after the blatent attempt at getting sympathy with the Olympic Hero-themed costume and set, she'll prob stay.

yes I know it was like remember when i got a couple of medals grin her dance was awful and Brendans faffing with the cape was cringey

Oodthunkit Sun 18-Nov-12 14:08:22

Wouldn't object to Richard or Victoria. Felt a few weeks ago she was worth the shot but she's one of the weakest now so one this week one next please. Then probably Nicky or Micheal.

Who does that leave ? crap memory alert

Think that's it?

Thanks AndiMac. smile

Oodthunkit Sun 18-Nov-12 14:09:03

Want Louis and Dani in the final btw

Mrsjay Sun 18-Nov-12 14:10:39

Want Louis and Dani in the final btw

yes and maybe Lisa I do like them they are fab and full of energy and really give a good performance

AndiMac Sun 18-Nov-12 14:10:43

I've had enough of Richard now too. Even as liberal minded as I am, asking Darcey to check for VPL was just moronic and crass. And he is a lousy dancer more to the point.

Anyone else amazed at how Michael Vaughn has really managed to do so well after nearly being eliminated early on??

Mrsjay Sun 18-Nov-12 14:11:45

I think I said id like kimberly in the final way back but I dont now , I think she has peaked

Mrsjay Sun 18-Nov-12 14:12:46

Anyone else amazed at how Michael Vaughn has really managed to do so well after nearly being eliminated early on??

yes he is the only one that you can see has improved cos he was so bad at the start he is better at the ballroom than latin though,

"Brendans faffing with the cape was cringey"
He was waving it around so long we were convinced Victoria couldn't get out of her harness off-screen. I still think it went on long enough to suggest that IS what happened ...

WrathdePan Sun 18-Nov-12 14:33:57

None of this would have happened in Blackpool.<learning to let go emocion>

Mrsjay Sun 18-Nov-12 14:49:07

. I still think it went on long enough to suggest that IS what happened ...

I think your right maybe a floor manager was shouting at Brendan more faffing just keep going grin

Mrsjay Sun 18-Nov-12 14:49:48

None of this would have happened in Blackpool.

there would be no flying bikes in Blackpool would there grin

DilysPrice Sun 18-Nov-12 14:52:14

Marking place - have read spoiler and will want to discuss this evening as it vindicates one of my Pet Theories grin.

(this is not a spoiler because I have not voiced this theory on MN ever).

Mrsjay Sun 18-Nov-12 14:53:47

och tell us your theory go on grin

bet nicky bloody westlife is still in it I dont read the results

DilysPrice Sun 18-Nov-12 15:04:36

No, cos that would be spoilertastic. But will say this evening.

ppeatfruit Sun 18-Nov-12 15:05:24

Thanks Andi for the shiny, new, slippery as the floor at Wembley grin thread. No mrsjay I don't look at the results either.

I can't remember who was asking and I'm new to SCD as well so I didn't know but Steve Wright said today that the audience tele votes and the judges' are added together for the results so no skulduggery grin.

Marking spot, just about to watch last night's.

confuddledDOTcom Sun 18-Nov-12 15:09:44

He seemed to be getting a little tangled in that cape!

It's been a good year (especially if you watched CiN on Friday for the memories!) but Richard and Victoria are definitely the ones who are showing themselves to not be as strong and progressing as well as the others.

DilysPrice, please tell!

AmIthatScary Sun 18-Nov-12 15:14:00

Will be back later to hear Dilys's theory grin

LetUsPrey Sun 18-Nov-12 15:21:32

Didn't watch last night. I watched the last five minutes or so to see the clips of the dances and the scoreboard. Can't say i'm that bothered about watching it, although TBH the comments on the previous thread have been very helpfulgrin

I have seen the results as I can never wait for the Sunday show.

ScatterChasse Sun 18-Nov-12 15:22:23

I don't think Lisa'a always that good either... she was at the beginning, but she seems to be getting similar corrections for every dance now.

Also I'm finding it harder and harder to muster up enthusiasm for some of the fast Latin...there just seems to be too many of them, and all to rotten music!

I'd quite like a week of just rumbas and Viennese waltzes tbh.

Sparklingbrook Sun 18-Nov-12 15:25:58

Thanks for the new thread Andi. grin

Glad someone else pointed out that the Charleston choreography was not James's, and in fact had to be changed because he couldn't do the neck isolations.

I would like them to leave in this order:

I want Dani to win. I would also MUCH rather Vincent won than James.
I think Lisa is not very good technically, but I think Michael will go before her if he stuffs up a Latin dance.

cocolepew Sun 18-Nov-12 15:46:13

marking place smile

ppeatfruit Sun 18-Nov-12 15:59:15

Interesting about the choreo. does anyone know if the dancers\pros. are just helped or do the actual choreos. do it ALL ?

ScatterChasse Sun 18-Nov-12 16:01:15

They used to do ten normal ones themselves and be helped for the ones they didn't know (so salsa, AT and now charleston) but I don't know if that's still the same.

FrankelDeBeauvoir Sun 18-Nov-12 16:01:46

Marking my spot grin

ShotgunNotDoingThePans Sun 18-Nov-12 18:16:41

Room for one more?

Just marking my place smile

RedZombie Sun 18-Nov-12 18:33:56

Evening all.
Looking forward to the results show. I think it might be Richard vs Victoria or micheal. Richard to go not before time either

Badvocsanta Sun 18-Nov-12 18:40:36

Think it will be Richard and Victoria in bottom 2.
What was Brendan thinking??
Wouldn't mind either going tbh.
My ds1 (aged 9) had correctly predicted the last 3 winners from the first show....I am sorry to say he thinks Denise and James will win sad
Hope not.
Anyne but them actually.
Like Louis, Lisa and Kimberley. Michael is doing well in ballroom, shame about the Latin! I think he is the most improved though. Brendan pushes Victoria around the floor...glad Bruno picked up on that last week.

FrankelDeBeauvoir Sun 18-Nov-12 18:58:37

I had a dance lesson this morning, my teacher said she's tempted to send Len (who she knows well) an email to tell him to pull Darcey up on her mistakes grin

Minimammoth Sun 18-Nov-12 18:59:30

Also marking place. I too would love to see Vincent and Dani in the final. Thumbs down for DVO. Don't know why but there ya go. Victoria must go, I get tired just thinking of the emotional input that must have to go in every week. Hard work IMO.

dementedma Sun 18-Nov-12 19:01:35

Hope Victoria goes, she is scary!

Ok, finished watching it and reading through all yesterday's comments.

My verdict is:

Tess's dress was awful but she was less anoying than usual
Bruce - well, same old, same old. He was a bit abrupt with RA but RA was making a complete tit of himself and loweering the tone.
VTs being mainly of rehearsal and not silly staged comedy moments is a great improvement
Music was not great, almost impossible in that arena and some poor music choices this week.

I think Victoria should go, at least Richard has had some good weeks. I didn't like the bicycle thing, am also convinced that Brendan was twirling his cloak while they unstrapped VP off camera.

Kimberley was so-so and overmarked.
DVO was awful but did dance well IYSWIM
Dani and Vincent are so endearing but I don't think they will win
Louis has gone right off the boil
I have never taken to Natalie before but I am loving her this year.

ScatterChasse Sun 18-Nov-12 19:23:55

Grrr at some of the camerawork...the bits I saw of that looked really good!

Minimammoth Sun 18-Nov-12 19:25:26

Claudia's had her fringe cut!!

AndiMac Sun 18-Nov-12 19:26:59

I liked that opening number.

cocolepew Sun 18-Nov-12 19:27:22

Love Tess' dress.

AndiMac Sun 18-Nov-12 19:27:44

Ooh, and Claudia is wearing something less sack-like!

Doinmummy Sun 18-Nov-12 19:29:00

Please make Darcy talk properly without that awful rise in her voice at the end of every sentence.

cocolepew Sun 18-Nov-12 19:31:00

Doesn't Natalie look glamourous envy

EnjoyResponsibly Sun 18-Nov-12 19:31:14

Whoknows good summary.

I think it is very poor form to have Girls Aloud on whilst kimboreley is still in the show.

In fact I think it's poor form to have Girls Aloud on at all angry

Like both their dresses, but claud looks orange- for wembley or the wedding do you reckon?!

RedZombie Sun 18-Nov-12 19:32:07

Don't like Tess' dress, looks like something my mum would wear on Christmas day, although she'd have a nice pair of slacks on.

How come they never do anything with Flavia's hair?

AndiMac Sun 18-Nov-12 19:33:20

Thanks be that Richard is in the dance-off.

cocolepew Sun 18-Nov-12 19:33:35

Claudias always orange, maybe she went more nuclear tangoed for the wedding though.

cocolepew Sun 18-Nov-12 19:34:15

shock Flavia has perfect hair <flicks>

cocolepew Sun 18-Nov-12 19:34:38

Kill me know, Girls Aloud sad

RedZombie Sun 18-Nov-12 19:35:00

Claudia is unapologetically orange.
Looks like she's trimmed her fringe a bit.

ScatterChasse Sun 18-Nov-12 19:35:19

Didn't she have red hair when she was in the audience the other week? confused

EnjoyResponsibly Sun 18-Nov-12 19:35:39

I love Flavias hair, its always so shiny and perfect.

I do not love Girls Aloud.

FrankelDeBeauvoir Sun 18-Nov-12 19:35:59

Doinmummy, Darcey has picked up the Aussie inflection while she was living there. I agree it's very annoying.

Surprised GA are singing live wink

cocolepew Sun 18-Nov-12 19:36:01

Oh my god that's awful.

Oodthunkit Sun 18-Nov-12 19:36:26

Flavia is always perfect envy

ShotgunNotDoingThePans Sun 18-Nov-12 19:37:07

I can't bear this < cringe >.

Oodthunkit Sun 18-Nov-12 19:37:37

At least girls aloud aren't wearing the pumpkin dresses from Friday.

RedZombie Sun 18-Nov-12 19:38:46

Hello Pasha.

Girls Aloud are dreadful
Claudia's hair looks nice
Flavia doesn't need to do anything with her hair, it is stunning just the way it is.

FrankelDeBeauvoir Sun 18-Nov-12 19:39:04

Blimey, Lisa's splits looked painful shock

AndiMac Sun 18-Nov-12 19:39:21

I'm very appreciative of Len's lens showing Pascha's chest in slow motion. grin

sailorsgal Sun 18-Nov-12 19:39:38

I've warmed to Richard but its time for him to go.

cocolepew Sun 18-Nov-12 19:39:46

Blimely, look at cheryls hair, she'll be losing her L'Oreal contract.

BRANdishingMistletoe Sun 18-Nov-12 19:39:47

Blimey, GA really can't sing live. In fact half of that song is shouting, and they can't even do that. hmm

EnjoyResponsibly Sun 18-Nov-12 19:41:26

Coco good. She's not worth it.

Horsemad Sun 18-Nov-12 19:42:58

Thought Cheryl's hair was awful.

EnjoyResponsibly Sun 18-Nov-12 19:43:15

No way! She's fucking shite!

FrankelDeBeauvoir Sun 18-Nov-12 19:43:21

I think Kimbers could be in the dance off again!

AndiMac Sun 18-Nov-12 19:43:24

Just burst out laughing at Bruno shouting "I am THIN!" looking at the rehearsal photos of himself.

Doinmummy Sun 18-Nov-12 19:43:25

Booo I wanted Victoria to go

ScatterChasse Sun 18-Nov-12 19:43:42

Aaw at Flavia smile

Oodthunkit Sun 18-Nov-12 19:43:53

Phew on Louis

sailorsgal Sun 18-Nov-12 19:44:29

Kimberley was looking a bit worried then.

EnjoyResponsibly Sun 18-Nov-12 19:44:56

Kimberley's just not getting it is she. If she keeps dragging Girls Shrieking Aloud along she will lose votes.

Figgygal Sun 18-Nov-12 19:45:00

Kimberley Walsh is an amazing looking woman and dancer glad she's ok this week surprised about nicky this week thought he was good yesterday.

I thought Pendleton would go this week

FrankelDeBeauvoir Sun 18-Nov-12 19:45:09

I'm wrong grin

Richard's going home.

BRANdishingMistletoe Sun 18-Nov-12 19:45:25

Pah! I wanted Victoria in the dance off.

It was a bit mean leaving Kimberly until the end to tell her she's safe. I thought she was going to faint last week when she had to dance again.

cocolepew Sun 18-Nov-12 19:45:42

Maybe the hairdresser who did Victorias did Cheryls mop.

FrankelDeBeauvoir Sun 18-Nov-12 19:46:34

Ooooo Locamotion! grin

Oodthunkit Sun 18-Nov-12 19:47:01

Richard will go over anyone so suppose it doesn't matter who's in it

ScatterChasse Sun 18-Nov-12 19:47:09

This is much better than GA grin

AndiMac Sun 18-Nov-12 19:47:11

What ARE the men wearing in Kylie's number??

cocolepew Sun 18-Nov-12 19:47:15

Bring back miming.

FrankelDeBeauvoir Sun 18-Nov-12 19:47:53

Er, men in corsets? Not my cuppa hmm

sailorsgal Sun 18-Nov-12 19:48:28

I never did get Kylie I've never had botox Minogue.

ScatterChasse Sun 18-Nov-12 19:48:37

Ok, the men in corsets are weird.

Horsemad Sun 18-Nov-12 19:49:13

WTF? Men in corsets?????

ScatterChasse Sun 18-Nov-12 19:49:26

I quite like the 'aerobics with chairs' class going on around her though.

Still better than Girls Aloud grin

cocolepew Sun 18-Nov-12 19:49:44

Me neither sailorsgal, no sex appeal, no vocal talent.

ShotgunNotDoingThePans Sun 18-Nov-12 19:50:13

Why were the dancers dressed like the cast of Chicago? And no one doing the feckin Locomotion!

Doinmummy Sun 18-Nov-12 19:50:15

I didn't know that Richard is a lawyer by trade

sailorsgal Sun 18-Nov-12 19:50:35

We got to go through the murder of Club Tropicana again. Aaargh!

Horsemad Sun 18-Nov-12 19:51:15

My BIL's ex-partner looks like Kylie.

ShotgunNotDoingThePans Sun 18-Nov-12 19:52:28

Shocking singing again. George Michael must be turning in his grave - no wait . . .

FrankelDeBeauvoir Sun 18-Nov-12 19:53:09

Erin is a beautiful ballroom dancer, simply exquisite, but her Latin just isn't up to the same level as the other pros.

Nicky needs to stop looking at his feet!

Teahouse Sun 18-Nov-12 19:53:27

Rubbish song kylie...boring and the male dancers look so, well, just so bizarre but wrong bizarre

babbas Sun 18-Nov-12 19:53:51

Oh really hating wembley. How come darcy can't dance properly? She looked so awkward in the start routine. Richard and nicky in bottom two pls.

FrankelDeBeauvoir Sun 18-Nov-12 19:54:11

Oops, Nicky almost knocks the set over!

cocolepew Sun 18-Nov-12 19:55:45

Darcys hair is a mess too, what's going on with the barnets?

cocolepew Sun 18-Nov-12 19:56:37

Byebye Richard, Victoria next please grin

ScatterChasse Sun 18-Nov-12 19:57:22

Claudia still can't get the slash the right way grin

Agree totally about Erin, she just seems too much girl next door for the Latin dances. She comes across as a lovely, modest down to earth person and is one of my favourite pros despite the Latin shortcomings.

Horsemad Sun 18-Nov-12 19:57:49

Claudia's dress makes her look even shorter than usual.

babbas Sun 18-Nov-12 19:57:59

Girls aloud. Love the song. Terrible singing.

Minimammoth Sun 18-Nov-12 19:58:10

Gawd what is up with the singers this year.

babbas Sun 18-Nov-12 19:58:47

Really hating darcy too. She's rubbish.

ScatterChasse Sun 18-Nov-12 20:00:38

Erin's probably my favourite too. Her ballroom's fantastic, and she's done some really lovely rumbas too imo.

Her Latin probably looks worse too as most of the newer pros are Latin specialists aren't they?

AndiMac Sun 18-Nov-12 20:02:09

I like Darcy, I think she's still finding her feet and her mannerisms aren't any worse than the other judges' quirks. She at least usually has something sensible to say about the actual performance.

Not sorry to see the end of Richard, but he did give a sweet little speech towards Erin. And her back as well.

Oodthunkit Sun 18-Nov-12 20:03:03

Waiting on dilys theory

meatpiesausageroll Sun 18-Nov-12 20:03:18

I agree with Andi, i like darcy aswell at last a touch of class on the show imo

ScatterChasse Sun 18-Nov-12 20:04:39

I like Darcey too, I think she just needs a series to get her feet under the table properly.

Mrsjay Sun 18-Nov-12 20:05:28

Waiting on dilys theory

I just logged on just for the theory grin the right people went I liked Richard and Erin they were fun and i like Erin anyway , should have been victoria imo I wonder if there is going to be an olympian in the final hmm

Chubfuddler Sun 18-Nov-12 20:08:23

I want to know dilys's theory.

You realise just what a wonderful singer George Michael is when you hear another professional singer slaughter club tropicana like that. When he sang it, it was effortless.

Chubfuddler Sun 18-Nov-12 20:09:30

I love darcey. Can't be mean about saint darcey! I can't understand why she's not a dame, frankly.

DilysPrice Sun 18-Nov-12 20:14:10

OK, since I know you were all on tenterhooks for my Theory <deluded>, here it is.

Popularity of a celeb's band/soap/gold medals has no predictive power whatsoever. I've read "oh the Eastenders/Girls Aloud/McFly/Corrie/Man U vote will keep people in and I honestly can't think of a case where it's been true. People stay in beyond their level of dance ability because they are likeable, funny, have hilarious car crash potential, have a great relationship with their pros or if they are male and staggeringly hot. But the fanbase they came in with has never made a difference. And I've not seen it make a difference with any other competitive reality show either, certainly not DOI (with the arguable exemption of the Loose Women vote).

Discuss/ refute if you can with examples.

Mrsjay Sun 18-Nov-12 20:14:51

I liked her as soon as she stopped saying YAH every 2 seconds grin

DilysPrice Sun 18-Nov-12 20:15:20

X-posted with people who actually were waiting on my Theory shock.

Chubfuddler Sun 18-Nov-12 20:17:24

I think you're right dilys. Not least because I don't know who half these people are so I can only judge on the dancing.

FrankelDeBeauvoir Sun 18-Nov-12 20:20:43

I like Darcey and she is eminently more qualified than Alesha ever was, but she is still giving incorrect advice.

In the last 2 weeks alone she has told dancers to

1. lead with their feet - works for ballet not for ballroom/latin
2. that Samba bounce comes from the knees - nope, it comes from the feet and ankles
3. That leaning back and sticking your nose in the air constitutes a correct head line for a lady dancing ballroom - of course it doesn't! You create the line through an upwards rotation of the body and using your head weight to counterbalance yourself.

<gets off soapbox>

I agree Dilys, DH is convinced people vote because they like them in EE or whatever, I just don't agree with him. It's definitely not just about the dancing though, personalities make a big difference.

awaynboilyurheid Sun 18-Nov-12 20:25:46

At last sailorsgal someone else who like me can see right through the talentless zone that is Kylie, even girls allowed shouting their new song looked talented next to her wink

Mrsjay Sun 18-Nov-12 20:27:56

personalities make a big difference.

yes It does make a difference if people are enjoying it then they will vote, although Nicky westlife must have loads and loads of fans

I was wondering if Kylie had to be carried off the stage by the corset men because she didn't look as though she could walk in those shoes.

DilysPrice Sun 18-Nov-12 20:29:42

I submit to back me up - the four people who have most over-performed in the public vote: John Sargeant, Anne Widdicombe, Russell Grant and Nancy del Olio. I didn't watch Series one though, so I don't know whether Christopher Parker was a charmless nerk coasting on his soap fame or whether people voted for him because he was entertaining on the show.

And if you look at the winners, pretty much all of them were C list before the show, and far from the least popular and famous of their cohort before it started. (the cricketers were famous if you follow cricket but there's a very limited overlap between the fanbases).

LetUsPrey Sun 18-Nov-12 20:31:49

Louis Smith - get your act together sharpish. Flavia is totally amazing and deserves to win.

Frankel - I luffs you, you know! Your dancing talk is always easy to follow smile

ScatterChasse Sun 18-Nov-12 20:37:51

I think you're right Dilys. I think it might make a bit of a difference in the first couple of weeks (or goodness knows how Nicky got through, nobody really thought his first two dances were good did they?!) but after that, nope. It's how they come across on the show.

Minimammoth Sun 18-Nov-12 20:43:22

The judges have been using lots more classical dance terms since Darcy joined the panel. Is it to help her to 'gel' do you think? She obviously needs some time with Frankelgrin

PuffPants Sun 18-Nov-12 20:49:38

How did Claudia get from David Mitchell and Victoria Coren's wedding yesterday afternoon to Wembley? She was a bridesmaid wasn't she? She must have had to leave straight after the service!

FrankelDeBeauvoir Sun 18-Nov-12 20:56:57

Aww thanks chaps and chapesses grin <cops a feel of Prey> grin

I get all my terminology from my dance teacher, she's great at breaking things down and using visualisation to get you to do the right thing.

WrathdePan Sun 18-Nov-12 20:58:42

Err...we'll have none of that Frankel - it's a family thread.

DilysPrice Sun 18-Nov-12 21:01:44

Wedding was in North London, so very do-able to Wembley, last night's show finished at 8pm - presumably results show started immediately afterwards.

PuffPants Sun 18-Nov-12 21:31:04

Yes but she can't just turn up at 8 can she? She's surely have to be there at least a couple if hours before if they were making an exception - more like 4/5 hrs ahead on a normal week. I can't see how she could have stayed at the wedding beyond 5pm. And in the photos it's clearly going dark when they come out of the church so 4.30ish.

She must have literally done her duties at the service then fled!

LetUsPrey Sun 18-Nov-12 21:56:11

She's just helping me with my dance steps Pan. Not sure how much of it applies to tap TBH but I take it all on board.

wink at Frankel.

Going to watch results show. Expect to whizz through much of it.

confuddledDOTcom Mon 19-Nov-12 00:23:04

Must watch the results show, we turned over after they announced that it was Richard, which we'd already worked out before the show!

Dilys, I've always said similar. I think voters also vote for a laugh, if they see that it winds the panel up (of any show) that a particular act is still going through they will keep voting them in. I think "I'd Do Anything" that sort of voting really backfired and ALW was obviously furious! I'm not an X-Factor watcher but did follow the whole Jedward and whatever the guy is called this year thing, people vote to wind up the panel because the panel's reaction is entertaining. As far as that show is concerned they should only be putting people forward from boot camp who has a voice suitable for radio, fireworks are useful on a Christmas #1!

Darcy was winding me up early on, her patronising "Yeah. Yes?" made me want to hit her! At least you know the advice she is giving comes from professional experience as a dancer not as a singer who won the show once! Anyone else noticed we now seem to have two groups? Darcy tends to score low with Craig (unless he's in a mean mood) whilst Len and Bruno always seem to score the the same.

confuddledDOTcom Mon 19-Nov-12 01:01:15

Oh and is it me or does Claudia always look like she's doing Debra Stephenson doing Claudia?

Wow! Claudia was actually wearing a nice dress. Please do the same again next week you never know she might be a MNer. And her fringe looked better too. This wedding must have been a good thing! smile.

And DVO. Well, you managed to thank James and then say 'I was told I had to say that' hmm. Seriously love, everyone else actually (rightly) genuinely thinks they have something to thank their partner for apart from Nicky who thinks he does it all himself. And they do! You might think you're all that, but I bet James works his arse off to choreograph and teach you the routines. And I have never heard her thank him or make any mention of him other than in a joke-derogatory way. I think someone else mentioned when James hurt his foot and not once did we see her show any concern. Now of course maybe she did off camera but she looked thoroughly unbothered when we did see the medic looking at it.

I'm not trying to dislike her but she is making it hard not to hmm

Still dislike DvO, but she keeps getting the votes. Would love to see her in the bottom two next week just to see her face.

Flavia's hair is perfect. Flavia is perfect.

Claudia's hair and dress was better, but love her so she could wear a bin bag. Tess def better again with her yesterday. She looks happier than when BF is in.

I want Dani and Vincent to win, but if I hear bloody Darcey condescendingly calling them munchkins again. angry. How would she like it if someone called her man-lady or giant for being tall. Nobody's height, whether tall or short, should be commented on! She doesn't call Lisa fat so....

Cheryl's hair looked like I had done it for her. Do you think she perhaps turned up late and didn't have time to do it?

DilysPrice Mon 19-Nov-12 08:18:01

Biscuits I hold little brief for DVO (and would be staggered if her vote will sustain her if she slips off the top of the leader board now the dead wood has gone) but her sniping at James is definitely "banter" and pre-agreed with him. I'm sure she'll do a massive sincere speech of grovelling thanks when the time comes - possibly involving what a miracle it is that he's taught clumsy little old her how to dance hmm.

Oh I'm sure it is all banter and I can see that they have that sort of jokey relationship but all that aside I think it is just plain manners to thank your professional partner at some point. They have plenty of opportunities between talking to the judges and Tess and ITT. Nicky could learn from this too. In the first few weeks when they slated Karen's choreography I wondered if he didn't say anything about her because he blamed her a bit but her choreo is fine now?

ppeatfruit Mon 19-Nov-12 08:43:37

Thanks for the info about the choreos. scatterchasse Well last night's was interesting:-

BUT WTF were the BEEB thinking about with that vile Kylie S&M show? And her shoesshock!!!!!! It's a teatime show shock !!!!!

Girls Aloud lived up to their name LOUD LOUD and not much else.

I reckon Richard looked relieved to go as did Erin grin She wasn't crying grin

ppeatfruit Mon 19-Nov-12 08:54:18

Ooh forgot the Tess and Claudia show; did anyone else notice they almost SWOPPED looks grin? I liked Tess in that dress but there was a weird effect on our telly anyway IMO she looked like a tranny with a bit of beard growth! because the dress seemed to reflect onto her face with her WHITE lippy( I looked to see if Claudia had red lippy and it was a bit more colourful than usual!!

I agree about Girls Aloud and Kylie. Dd was quite bemused by the men in corsets and said the looked weird. She asked me why they were wearing them and I had no idea what to tell her. confused

It was nice to see Claudia's eyes though. grin

notyummy Mon 19-Nov-12 09:46:48

I also laughed hugely at Bruno's reaction to seeing himself in that harness. I know from bitter experience how unflaterring those sorts of things are. I have never really recovered from seeing a photo of my arse in one.

Liked Lisa, DVO, Dani, Kimberley and quite enjoyed Louis.

The right person left.

VP should go next.

knottyhair Mon 19-Nov-12 09:49:43

I like the same people you do notyummy.
I get the feeling DVO can't do right for doing wrong on here. Her banter with James is clearly just that, and they seem to have a nice relationship. She's hardly the only contestant to have had any dance training. I met her once in the loo of Joe Allen's and she was lovely. I don't get the "hard eyes" thing at all, and as for her applause for other contestants being "too enthusiastic", blimey, what's she supposed to do?

Mrsjay Mon 19-Nov-12 10:12:41

agree about Girls Aloud and Kylie. Dd was quite bemused by the men in corsets and said the looked weird. She asked me why they were wearing them and I had no idea what to tell her

I couldnt take my eyes off them and not in a good way it just looked odd the corset and shirt and the legs was not a great combo hmm the right people went didn't they although it should have been victoria and Richard in the bottom 2 even if Nicky westlife gets on my wick

I want Nicky to go next. I think Nicky, Victoria and Micheal are all not great but I think I'm on my own in liking VP. I'd keep her over Nicky for that reason alone.

Mrsjay Mon 19-Nov-12 10:53:20

I like Victoria she is just a bit reserved and is doing razzle dazzle dances to cover up she isnt that great but I do like her

ppeatfruit Mon 19-Nov-12 11:20:20

Yes I like Victoria as well she comes across as quite sweet and always looks great (not sure about the relevance to the dance of the E.T. flying bike though hmm!) More to duo with the producers trying to throw everything possible at the audience at Wembley; they don't seem to have heard the saying "LESS IS MORE"!!!!!

Mrsjay Mon 19-Nov-12 11:24:48

was supposed to be homage to victoria and the olympics but yes she just looked like she was 'doing ET , hmm

forehead Mon 19-Nov-12 11:30:34

Really hope Nicky goes next week. He irritates me as he is so far up his own arse.

I'm glad I'm not the only one! smile

suburbandream Mon 19-Nov-12 12:17:18

Was v.disappointed with the Wembley show, had high hopes for Louis and Flavia's american smooth and although the dance itself was technically good the music, cosumes and horrid floor illumination things were awful.
Disappointed with the "entertainment" too - Girls Aloud were mediocre (although Nadine looked lovely and it was nice to see Sarah looking so well).

Why, why, why did Kylie do the locomotion and yet not actually "do" the locomotion??? When they announced it I thought "odd, but maybe they'll all be doing the dance round the floor and get the crowd going, might be a bit kitsch but fun" But sadly not. C'mon Kylie, remember this I so wanted that outfit grin

TheSmallClanger Mon 19-Nov-12 12:24:25

Victoria isn't really improving. I think it would be fair if she left next week. Nicky is also vulnerable, although he is showing more signs of improvement than she is.

DVO will be the classic judges' pet contestant who gets to the last three and is voted off, like Zoe Ball and Rachel Stevens before her. She is being very disingenous about her dance experience, and her repartee with James isn't coming across as well as it used to in her past TV work with others.

Her charleston was over-marked this week, and that can often mean the voting knives come out.

BRANdishingMistletoe Mon 19-Nov-12 12:29:23

I thought the charleston was over-marked too. But I thought that perhaps it was the Wembly effect and it would have looked better in a smaller area. I'm sure it was very proficient, but it just seemed a bit joyless and not exuberant enough. It looked like they were working hard, but shouldn't it have looked like they were having fun?

TheSmallClanger Mon 19-Nov-12 12:42:08

I think several of the dances looked weird in that huge space, Louis and Flavia's really suffered through having to travel so much in a circle.

I've learned the partner and solo charleston, and what DVO and James did was a showdance with a few charleston bits. The whole point of the charleston and its close cousins is that it should be performable in a small space, to very fast music.

Mrsjay Mon 19-Nov-12 12:55:30

Y Y to Kylies non locomotion just weirdy men mincing walking about i was already to dance along grin

Mrsjay Mon 19-Nov-12 13:03:41

Oj Kylie has a new album out an abbey road album and she has reworked all her old songs that is why we were not locomoting (not a word)

Mrsjay Mon 19-Nov-12 13:03:47

TheSmallClanger Mon 19-Nov-12 13:15:08

Charleston video, partly performed by non-pros

None of the ones on Strictly have the loose, bendy style you really need for it.

I thought the Kylie performance was rather weird, a bit pretentious and not quite suitable for early evening, tbh.

ppeatfruit Mon 19-Nov-12 13:30:42

Thesmall thanks for the video it was great. DVO's charleston was spoiled by the over pretension of the 'Show" bit!!

Danny's was nearly there IMO. DANNY TO WIN!!!!

ppeatfruit Mon 19-Nov-12 13:32:09

DANNI TO WIN I meant of course.

suburbandream Mon 19-Nov-12 13:36:41

Great Charleston video! And I disagree with Len (I think it was) who said it was the best ever stricly charleston, my favourite is still Chris and Ola's (especially the swimming bit!) here. Just brilliant fun to watch, they were a great couple smile

ppeatfruit Mon 19-Nov-12 13:48:35

That was fab suburban Thanks! Yes much better and more 'real' then DVO's.

RedZombie Mon 19-Nov-12 14:04:08

Thing that annoys me about DVO is the whole 'I'm finding this so hard this week, it all went wrong in rehearsal' bollocks. She's brilliant and everyone knows it. For me this makes everything else she does Seem a bit fake and forced. and I've never been keen on James either.
she needs to have a disastrous week l

BRANdishingMistletoe Mon 19-Nov-12 14:06:27

That video was great, they danced with gusto and enthusiasm and they were clearly enjoying themselves. DVO and James were being careful and concentrating hard and their smiles were very stagey. There was no abandon.

RedZombie Mon 19-Nov-12 14:06:58

Should have saId, she needs to have a disastrous week and get herself into the dance off.

ppeatfruit Mon 19-Nov-12 14:39:35

And as some o.p.'s have said the voting was far too generous.

Horsemad Mon 19-Nov-12 15:17:31

Chris & Ola's Charleston - Happy Days! Just looks such fun and happy go lucky smile

marking place.
forehead -*TheOneWithTheHair * I couldn't agree more!

and TheOneWithTheHair that should have said!

suburbandream Mon 19-Nov-12 17:01:02

My predictions for the final: DVO and James, Danni and Vincent, Louis and Flavia. Danni to win, v.popular with the public (as long as she keeps those tats covered up wink)

ScatterChasse Mon 19-Nov-12 18:40:45

"Left, the other left foot" I can definitely identify with that grin

Oodthunkit Mon 19-Nov-12 18:51:17

Me too scatter blush

Snowstorm Mon 19-Nov-12 20:33:01

Do the pros choose the music for each dance or are they given it? If it's the latter then I think it'd explain why so often they look like they want to say that they did the best with what they were given ... but don't.

RedZombie Mon 19-Nov-12 20:58:22

I always thought that the pros decide on a list of possible songs they could use and then the producers choose depending in what the band can perform.
But, a couple of them have made comments which would suggest otherwise. st Flavia said she couldn't do the salsa (?) to the Dirty Dancing music and Artem phwoar said he couldn't do a paso to Killer Queen.

Snowstorm Mon 19-Nov-12 21:11:51

Nicely phrased grin

ppeatfruit Tue 20-Nov-12 08:50:56

Horsemad Did you see CRH on TT2 last night? 'cos he agrees with you and me about Chris and Ola's charleston he gave it a 10 shock. great minds eh? grin

I wasn't sure about the appearance of the guy in the budgie smugglers "For Craig" Would they have done that with a woman I wonder? hmm

DilysPrice Tue 20-Nov-12 09:06:18

Yes I think they probably would - If Darcey had been in CRH's place I'm sure they'd have had her escorted off by Budgie Smuggler Bloke.

ppeatfruit Tue 20-Nov-12 09:30:44

Maybe you're right Dilys I forget about the influence of sexist B.F. on the show (even in absentia grin)

Horsemad Tue 20-Nov-12 09:31:07

I didn't ppeat - only caught the last seconds of last night's ITT sad but glad to hear he agrees with us! We obviously know a good Charleston when we see one!! grin

ppeatfruit Tue 20-Nov-12 09:47:57

Listmaker Tue 20-Nov-12 10:56:44

Hello all.

I have to take back my remarks about Claudia never wearing anything fitted! I agree with others who said it looked like Tess and Claudia swapped dresses on Sunday night. Don't think it suited Tess with her bambi like legs grin.

I don't like Wembley - terrible camera angles etc and the band didn't sound good. I'll be happy when they are back in the studio on Saturday.

I agree it was Richard's time to go and think VP should go next. Still not sure who I want to win - maybe Dani - more because I'd like Vincent to win than anything! I can't take to DVO and don't want James to win.

AndiMac Tue 20-Nov-12 12:34:42

But ppeatfruit, Craig was the one who said he thought it was the best Charleston he had ever seen on Strictly! confused Must watch ITT to catch up. As I said, I think I like it as much as the weekend shows!

ppeatfruit Tue 20-Nov-12 12:45:35

Yes you're right andimac I remembered that too Zoe didn't!; he didn't give it 10 though did he? praps he was carried away by Wembley grin

ITT is fun esp. waiting for Zo to fall A over T down the stairs with those terrifying shoes she wears . I like her though grin Apart from the munchkin comments to Danni and Vincent shock Darcey said it as well I don't understand; as another poster said they wouldn't call Lisa fat.

AndiMac Tue 20-Nov-12 12:50:04

No, he gave it a 9. And he gave the other one a 10?

OMG, Craig Revel Horwood revealed to be human and capable of mistakes!!

Horsemad Tue 20-Nov-12 12:50:33

How on earth she manages to walk in those shoes....! Sound like my mother now. grin

ppeatfruit Tue 20-Nov-12 12:59:52

andiYes he's human with the emphasis on the MAN grin

horsemad she doesn't walk normally IMO watch her tonight she has her knees bent all the time and she sits down a LOT grin nothing wrong in sounding like yr. mum in my mumsyish opinion grin

Horsemad Tue 20-Nov-12 13:07:59

I will watch tonight ppeat

ppeatfruit Tue 20-Nov-12 13:13:12

Oodthunkit Tue 20-Nov-12 18:50:15

So do we think Dani & Vincebt were undermarked?

chipstick10 Tue 20-Nov-12 18:54:18

I like dani and Vincent muchly. I would very much like them to win. His choreography is always great. I so hope Dvo doesn't win.

PuffPants Tue 20-Nov-12 18:58:02

Anyone see It Takes 2 tonight? Zoe congratulated Dani and Vincent on their "standing ovulation" gringringrin

Sparklingbrook Tue 20-Nov-12 18:58:59

'Tulle illusion'. grin

Oodthunkit Tue 20-Nov-12 19:02:04

Me me me I did puff dd2 didn't get what I was laughing at!

Wasn't the standing ovulation a running joke from the conversation with Vincent last week and a few times where he's got words mixed up? There was something he was getting confused with 'pause' the other week wasn't there?

PuffPants Tue 20-Nov-12 20:41:00

I didn't know that Biscuits - first time I've seen it actually, I'm normally tied up at that time of the evening!

I suppose it makes more sense as an in-joke. I couldn't believe nobody laughed grin

RedZombie Tue 20-Nov-12 20:47:23

I like Vincent a lot this year, never realised how funny he is.

Oodthunkit Tue 20-Nov-12 21:11:31

He was funny on R2 last Friday with Flavia.

ppeatfruit Wed 21-Nov-12 09:33:22

Horsemad Did you see Karen Hardy last night? she has totally vindicated us about Chris and Ola's charleston she reckoned it was BETTER than DVO's grin grin.

I LIKE her now! I also understood her better (either I'm getting used to the way she speaks or she's not gabbling so much )

Yes Redzombie Vincent is fun. Danni to win!!!! I reckon I'm going to vote for them and remove DVO from the final grin

Horsemad Wed 21-Nov-12 11:43:30

Yes ppeat I was cheering at the tv! grin

ppeatfruit Wed 21-Nov-12 13:15:20

Me too grin!!!

AndiMac Wed 21-Nov-12 21:25:58

I watched Tuesday's ITT, and after all the comments here, listened and watched Nicky carefully. He really is all me me me. When he was talking, he didn't look at Karen at all, nor did he refer to "we" when talking about dancing at Wembley even once. Whereas in comparison, Dani constantly said "we" about her and Vincent and always looked at him to include him in the talk.

Karen annoys me a bit with her one finger wave (reminiscent of how I move my finger when singing the Peter Pointer round of Tommy Thumb) and her hissing in the practice studio is scary. But she's nothing compared to what a cock Nicky is coming across as.

My only caveat is that maybe his wife is insecure/jealous type and he's trying to keep things smooth on the home front by not looking to be at all interested in his dance partner.

I noticed that andi - Karen said 'we', Nicky said 'I' hmm

ppeatfruit Thu 22-Nov-12 08:28:48

Somehow Nicky doesn't come across as the sensitive loving husband scared of upsetting the jealous wifey though does he? grin

Oodthunkit Thu 22-Nov-12 08:40:57

Yes they are the only couple who aren't hugging

ppeatfruit Thu 22-Nov-12 08:45:09

I don't blame karen hissing at him !!grin

Does anyone know if Danni be doing the tour ?

RedZombie Thu 22-Nov-12 20:04:54

When darcey said to him that Karen should help him with his hamstrings, he said something like 'what about my wife' so maybe that's an issue (or maybe he's an arse). That hissing thing is freaky though.

Dani, Michael, Louis and Lisa are confirmed for the tour so far.

RedZombie Thu 22-Nov-12 20:22:18

And as Vincent and Flavia don't usually do the tour, I wonder who Louis and Sani will be paired with.

Ty ok I'm going to see if any tickets dd loves Dani and Lisa and has enjoyed watching with me

Red I wonder about pascha maybe but not sure on what height differance be ? Would not thought Kimberley doing tour

If Vincent and Dani win won't Vincent be obliged to do the tour?

RedZombie Thu 22-Nov-12 21:29:32

The tour isn't anything to do with the BBC so he doesn't have to do it. Him and Flavia do their own show, as do Anton and Erin. I think Brenda's might do a show as well.

Oh shame. Thanks RedZombie.

tablefor4 Fri 23-Nov-12 12:58:11

For what it's worth, I thought that DVO and James seemed to be gettnig on beter in ITT this week. More relaxed, amicable laughing with each other rather than at. I wonder if they've reached a truce of some sort. It must be pretty intense all those hours rehearsing together that every little niggle is magnified. I

also suspect that James is not easy to be with when he is edgy (and that he gets stressed quite easily), like when doing the Charleston. James is one of the few professionals to acknowledge that there are other choreograhers for certain dances and that those dances are not in the normal pro repertoire. He's happier and nicer now he's back to the "10" (as I believe it is called!)

ppeatfruit Fri 23-Nov-12 16:17:29

Yes tablefor They did seem more relaxed; I didn't realise he's married to Ola! I still think they're more like 2 pros and for that reason I don't think DVO should win.

I thought they got on better too. smile

I think some reference should be made / credit given where other specialist choreographers help the professionals. In the olden days they used to show them both learning it. Maybe they think it would undermine the professionals if they're shown getting help but if they are having help then it is only fair that the helpers get a mention / some credit?

It's like trying to fool us with the Sunday night results hmm

RedZombie Fri 23-Nov-12 18:53:01

* I didn't realise he's married to Ola! *

Whaaaaat! Are you new? It's mentioned A LOT. smile

Was supposed to be out with a friend sat night and she cancelled and my first thought was 'excellent, I can watch Strictly live!'. <Saddo alert>
Although if he rearranges for the final night I'll be distraught.

You'll just have to tell him you're busy RedZombie. Just don't say what with! shockgrin

LetUsPrey Fri 23-Nov-12 22:13:59

I'm just catching up with tonight's ITT.

Have to say I don't think I'm that keen on Il Divo.

Horsemad Fri 23-Nov-12 22:36:09

Yep, I thought they were rubbish too LetUsPrey!

LetUsPrey Fri 23-Nov-12 22:42:18

Remember when the Friday Panel consisted of someone to talk about the dancing (wasn't it usually one of the judges), someone to talk about the clothes, and someone to talk about the music?

And all the someones each knew about their subject.

Not some bunch of randoms who feel the need to burst into impromptu song - which may as well have been Aren't We Amazing With Fantastic Voices, Listen To Us rather than Happy Birthday - who know bugger all about the show.

Horsemad Fri 23-Nov-12 22:52:19

ppeatfruit Sat 24-Nov-12 08:36:09

Yes * redzombie* I'm new to SCD 'cos I got into it when watching Harry Judd winning last year he was so good (and cute grin) I ignored the shrieking audience (which had put me off before TBH) and got into the dancing grin

I was out last night so I obviously didn't miss much grin!!.

RedZombie Sat 24-Nov-12 12:31:39

Ppeatfruit - ok I'll let you off then grin

The Friday panel was particularly rubbish yesterday. Whats she wasting time asking them about their album for? If i wanted to watch people plugging their own stuff Id be watching x factor.
Miranda is always a brillaint friday panellist, and that fashion lady who looks over the top of her glasses when she talks, she's good sack Julien

ppeatfruit Sat 24-Nov-12 13:06:46

I like Miranda she's actually a nice person grin

Oodthunkit Sat 24-Nov-12 16:00:55

Toddler watching ITT again. She's almost as obsessed as dd2 now. confused

Sparklingbrook Sat 24-Nov-12 18:20:58

Just warming the TV up and lo and behold SCD 'stars' on Pointless. confused

WrathdePan Sat 24-Nov-12 18:23:00

<lays on the spray tan>

Sparklingbrook Sat 24-Nov-12 18:24:51

Chelsy is being a little bit thick.

They are all being a bit thick

cocolepew Sat 24-Nov-12 18:45:45

Oh good . Bruce is back. sad

EnjoyResponsibly Sat 24-Nov-12 18:47:45

Now I love Brucie, but even I can see he's really starting to creak. How big must the auto cue text be, and he still fluffs his lines.

I want Victoria to go this week so we can all concentrate an the competition proper.

Sparklingbrook Sat 24-Nov-12 18:48:23

8 minutes in and bog all has happened. angry STFU Bruce FGS.

LittleBairn Sat 24-Nov-12 18:48:32

Danni looks stunning tonight.

we3kingsoforientRaahh Sat 24-Nov-12 18:51:31

I'm glad they've dressed her in something other than shin length prom dresses, which haven't flattered her at all. She looks lovelyenvy

FrankelDeBeauvoir Sat 24-Nov-12 18:52:31

She looked great, but an awful song choice for a Samba and I didn't see much in the way of bounce action.

Oodthunkit Sat 24-Nov-12 18:54:09

Awful awful music for that dance. They did the best they could with the choreography though. Go Dani!

WrathdePan Sat 24-Nov-12 18:54:37

FrankelDeBeauvoir Sat 24-Nov-12 18:54:50

Judges disagree with me tonight grin

It was good, don't get me wrong, just didn't inspire me to get up and dance which is what a Samba should do.

WrathdePan Sat 24-Nov-12 18:55:37

"Judges disagree with me tonight" shock

cocolepew Sat 24-Nov-12 18:55:52

I loved it, she looks great tonight.

WrathdePan Sat 24-Nov-12 18:56:15

Me too! Overscored.....

Horsemad Sat 24-Nov-12 18:57:23

I thought it lacked bounce too Frankel

Sparklingbrook Sat 24-Nov-12 18:57:52

Bruce, you are not funny.

LittleBairn Sat 24-Nov-12 18:57:55

I'm cringing out of my Jamie's good god someone retire him!

WrathdePan Sat 24-Nov-12 18:58:06

Oh just what the hell

Sparklingbrook Sat 24-Nov-12 18:58:35

Do you think Terry Wogan would be a good host of SCD?

Oh good god! Who wants to even imagine that?!

Loved Dani. I thought she looked good too.

I think he would actually Sparkling.

Sparklingbrook Sat 24-Nov-12 19:00:16

Oh no. Murder of a Prince song now. sad

WrathdePan Sat 24-Nov-12 19:01:33

Loved loved loved it!!

FrankelDeBeauvoir Sat 24-Nov-12 19:02:09

Another dodgy song choice hmm Not keen on her facial expressions either.

I don't know much about Tango, not danced it yet myself, but from what I do know you need to dance with flexed knees and she looked a little too straight legged to me.

I thought it was boring. sorry Pan

Horsemad Sat 24-Nov-12 19:02:40

Too pouty.

chipstick10 Sat 24-Nov-12 19:02:50

I have to mute or turn the tv over when Bruce is on. Omg he makes me cringe. Kim nailed that IMO. Love dani and Vincent.

Sparklingbrook Sat 24-Nov-12 19:02:55

I think he could do 'vaguely amusing' better than Bruce TheOne and we wouldn't be cringing the whole time.

Liked Kimberley's dance despite the duff music.

LittleBairn Sat 24-Nov-12 19:02:55

Lol her face did seem very forced pouty.

cocolepew Sat 24-Nov-12 19:03:02

A Prince song yay! Unfortunately it was mangled.

Great dance, loved it.

Horsemad Sat 24-Nov-12 19:03:23

It wasn't passionate enough sad

coffeeinbed Sat 24-Nov-12 19:03:45

She's a bit full of herself, Kimberly..

jellibelli Sat 24-Nov-12 19:03:48

DD says someone has spewed her hair onto her head.

Didn't like the face but dance was good.

Terry Wogan would be the end of it for me.

chipstick10 Sat 24-Nov-12 19:04:00

Kimberley is very pretty.

EnjoyResponsibly Sat 24-Nov-12 19:04:01

Sparkling Terry would be a great choice. We love Brucie so much that we named our dog after him smile but his time has come now.

sailorsgal Sat 24-Nov-12 19:04:25

Kimberley looks stunning tonight! I thought she did well and Dani has got so much confidence from where she started from.

Sparklingbrook Sat 24-Nov-12 19:04:58

I just can't think of anyone else who would have the right personality than Terry Wogan.

FrankelDeBeauvoir Sat 24-Nov-12 19:05:06

Agree, it was all a bit "meh". A Tango should, to be blunt, turn you on. That left me cold.

cocolepew Sat 24-Nov-12 19:05:10

God but Darcy irritates me, her voice grates on me.

Kim and Pasha didn't do it for me, I didn't feel the intensity it just seemed wooden.

EnjoyResponsibly Sat 24-Nov-12 19:05:48

I thought that dance was weird actually. Kimberley's face was mad, and I saw a wobble too. No tens for her tonight.

chipstick10 Sat 24-Nov-12 19:06:15

I always think they under mark dani and over mark Dvo. Mind you I cannot abide Dvo so maybe it's just me picking fault.

sailorsgal Sat 24-Nov-12 19:06:15

I must agree she did over do the pout. grin

cocolepew Sat 24-Nov-12 19:07:12

Kimberley mouth is massive shock

Totally wrong for it but I would love Tim Minchin to take over from Bruce. I think it would be hysterical. smile

WrathdePan Sat 24-Nov-12 19:07:29

Oh Victoria - please get through it!

chipstick10 Sat 24-Nov-12 19:07:39

Go away Bruce. Please

Oodthunkit Sat 24-Nov-12 19:08:18

Re Dani, I felt that the judges thought they'd done their best with a bad music choice.

chipstick10 Sat 24-Nov-12 19:08:27

Let Claudia take over.

Sparklingbrook Sat 24-Nov-12 19:08:28

Come on Victoria. Don't make me feel uncomfortable.

Oodthunkit Sat 24-Nov-12 19:08:51

Bit of a geeky question but what dances does Micheal have left?

FrankelDeBeauvoir Sat 24-Nov-12 19:09:15

Eek, "Candy" is not a good choice for a Salsa.

Sparklingbrook Sat 24-Nov-12 19:10:00

Music fail. Again.

FrankelDeBeauvoir Sat 24-Nov-12 19:10:08

Arms, arms, arms! <hides behind hands>

EnjoyResponsibly Sat 24-Nov-12 19:10:14

Oh woe.

Horsemad Sat 24-Nov-12 19:10:34

Not enough 'wiggle'

chipstick10 Sat 24-Nov-12 19:10:36

Victoria is totally sexless IMO [me ? I'm a stunner of course]

Sparklingbrook Sat 24-Nov-12 19:10:44

<Grabs cushion and hides.>

Oodthunkit Sat 24-Nov-12 19:10:52

Another dodgy music choice.

Sparklingbrook Sat 24-Nov-12 19:11:09

Has it stopped?

thenightsky Sat 24-Nov-12 19:11:10

Poor Victoria. She always looks so self-conscious and shy.

sailorsgal Sat 24-Nov-12 19:11:12

I totally agree. WTF Salsa to this.

FrankelDeBeauvoir Sat 24-Nov-12 19:11:14

Barring the lifts, that was a very basic Salsa and she struggled to be honest.

WrathdePan Sat 24-Nov-12 19:11:33

oh Vicky....sad

Sparklingbrook Sat 24-Nov-12 19:11:48

Oh FGS Bruce. angry

Doinmummy Sat 24-Nov-12 19:12:09

Victoria needs to go , that was cringey.

LittleBairn Sat 24-Nov-12 19:12:28

Honestly this is getting embarrassing he just can time anything or read any lines just coming across as a bumbling fool.

Sparklingbrook Sat 24-Nov-12 19:12:42

'Armography' hmm

cocolepew Sat 24-Nov-12 19:12:46

I agree chipstick, no sex appeal what so ever. She always seems embarrassed.

I hate to say it because I love Victoria but that was not good. It may be time to go. sad

chipstick10 Sat 24-Nov-12 19:12:51

Omg how is Bruce allowed to continue hosting this show? Can you imagine if it was a woman who was past her sell by date, she would've been got rid of years ago.

AndiMac Sat 24-Nov-12 19:13:11

A bit behind, but I loved the Kimberly and Pascha's tango. Liked Dani's samba, but it can't compare to the Glee football team doing the Beyonce's dance. grin

forehead Sat 24-Nov-12 19:13:13

Whatever happened to June Sarpong.? She would be excellent at co hosting SCD. Tess and Brucie need to go.

FrankelDeBeauvoir Sat 24-Nov-12 19:13:24

Darcey, that was not complicated choreography (lifts aside). You'll see more complex moves in any Salsa club on a Friday night.

Sparklingbrook Sat 24-Nov-12 19:13:24

I think maybe Sue Perkins to present then?

LittleBairn Sat 24-Nov-12 19:13:24

Ewe Brendan I don't think your pregnant wife will be too pleased with your obvious perving!

confuddledDOTcom Sat 24-Nov-12 19:13:25

VP still not keeping up, always seems like she's being pulled around the floor.

Anyone else not fans of the music group? Some songs they do are OK...

Oodthunkit Sat 24-Nov-12 19:14:12

Aww 'when you stand still you are fabulous'

Sparklingbrook Sat 24-Nov-12 19:15:18

sad Victoria.

forehead Sat 24-Nov-12 19:15:20

I wish they would stick to traditional music for these dances.

FrankelDeBeauvoir Sat 24-Nov-12 19:15:52

She's very wet. She needs, to use a colloquialism, to man up!

cocolepew Sat 24-Nov-12 19:15:53

Is Brendan getting a little tummy?

Sparklingbrook Sat 24-Nov-12 19:16:03

Exactky Forehead we don't need 'pop toons'.

thenightsky Sat 24-Nov-12 19:16:28

I think Victoria would love to be voted out tonight. She looks at the end of her tether emotionally, poor thing sad

Horsemad Sat 24-Nov-12 19:16:43

Vic should have a drink before her Latin dances!!

Oodthunkit Sat 24-Nov-12 19:17:01

She was talking like she had already been voted off

WrathdePan Sat 24-Nov-12 19:17:05

Hate to say it as well...time to go.

LadyIsabellaWrotham Sat 24-Nov-12 19:17:12

Liked Dani, but Tracey Beaker is never going to be Beyonce for me.

Kimberley's dance was beautifully choreographed but she lacked strength for a tango, she was too ragdolly and light on her feet.

Victoria is entering into spot the odd one out territory - she's increasingly standing out as a different class to the others. Bruno is having the most terrible cognitive dissonance when confronted with Beautiful woman =/= has any sense of rhythm. Loved him talking to "Brenda" though - this entire season is turning into a series of Monkseal shutout.

Sparklingbrook Sat 24-Nov-12 19:17:12

I agree night i think she would be hugely relieved.

FrankelDeBeauvoir Sat 24-Nov-12 19:17:21

Agree Forehead, there are so many good Salsa songs out there - I've got an iPod stuffed full of them - so why try to force a current pop song to fit?

cocolepew Sat 24-Nov-12 19:17:28

Stop crying woman!

FrankelDeBeauvoir Sat 24-Nov-12 19:18:49

Hmm, Dirty Diana could work as a Paso. It has the right atmosphere behind it at least.

FrankelDeBeauvoir Sat 24-Nov-12 19:19:57

He's not got his posture right - hips forward, chest out.

Horsemad Sat 24-Nov-12 19:20:04

Flavia is teeny tiny & she's wearing heels.

chipstick10 Sat 24-Nov-12 19:20:52

Flav and the charmless child seem so awkward together

WrathdePan Sat 24-Nov-12 19:20:55

nice armography

Horsemad Sat 24-Nov-12 19:21:01

I liked that grin

chipstick10 Sat 24-Nov-12 19:21:51

I didn't like that very much, it was a bit of a dud

WrathdePan Sat 24-Nov-12 19:22:13

Judges agree with me.grin

LittleBairn Sat 24-Nov-12 19:22:50

Louis seems rather angry.

dementedma Sat 24-Nov-12 19:23:36

Brendan definitely getting chubby, Louis - great body but no passion

cocolepew Sat 24-Nov-12 19:23:44

I never noticed what Louis was doing, I was too busy looking at Flavia blush

confuddledDOTcom Sat 24-Nov-12 19:24:22

Did anyone notice Bruce moving about and talking to people during that last dance? I found him a bit distracting.

Oodthunkit Sat 24-Nov-12 19:24:33

Was it only one point better than Victoria though?

AndiMac Sat 24-Nov-12 19:24:58

Nice dance, but Louis is just not clicking enough with Flavia. I agree with Darcey and Len; clean and precise but not a good performance.

chipstick10 Sat 24-Nov-12 19:25:10

I think Michael will win the glitter ball this year. It's just a feeling I have.

AndiMac Sat 24-Nov-12 19:26:05

Confuddled, I saw that too. Bruce probably got lost and didn't know where the dance floor was.

FrankelDeBeauvoir Sat 24-Nov-12 19:26:10

It did lack attack. The thing with Paso is that it really is the man's dance. All the other dances are about the woman - showing her off and making her look good. The Paso is the only one that is all about the man, the woman is merely an accessory.

Robin looks, er, stoned. This Rumba could go either way. I've not seen a good Rumba for ages on Stritcly.

RedZombie Sat 24-Nov-12 19:27:30

Evening all.
Louis needs to pull his finger out. Flavia deserves to win.

FrankelDeBeauvoir Sat 24-Nov-12 19:28:43

Lacking foot pressure, off time in places and generally felt quite rushed.

thenightsky Sat 24-Nov-12 19:29:20

Lisa's music was crap.

RedZombie Sat 24-Nov-12 19:29:31

I'm not a fan of the rumbA. Celebs never do a good one.

LittleBairn Sat 24-Nov-12 19:29:35

I agree it was a bit dull.

WhatTheFookIsGangnamStyle Sat 24-Nov-12 19:29:55

Craig wasn't even watching Lisa and Robin. He had his head in his papers!

Horsemad Sat 24-Nov-12 19:30:11

I liked Rachel Stevens' rumba * Frankel*

chipstick10 Sat 24-Nov-12 19:30:47

Lisa is a bit meh, I didn't like that.

FrankelDeBeauvoir Sat 24-Nov-12 19:31:02

Rumba is beautiful when danced properly, it's just that we don't get to see it danced in the right way, with the RIGHT music on SCD!

dementedma Sat 24-Nov-12 19:32:23

Robin often looks stoned I think, bit I still would!

I would too.

LadyIsabellaWrotham Sat 24-Nov-12 19:34:48

Not Lisa's best dance and in the past I've moaned that she hasn't really progressed, but putting her back to back with Victoria points out that she actually can dance, and definitely deserves to still be here.

RedZombie Sat 24-Nov-12 19:34:50

Well he's no Artem, but I still would.

FrankelDeBeauvoir Sat 24-Nov-12 19:34:55

Some proper music, at last!

AndiMac Sat 24-Nov-12 19:35:28

Not sure Robin would however. ;) I was laughing as Robin and Lisa both stood up straighter when Craig's score wasn't as low as they feared. I also laughed as Len and Bruno mocked-joined in with the crowd booing Darcey's 6. Glad they enjoy themselves on the show.

Horsemad Sat 24-Nov-12 19:35:36

Michael looks a bit self conscious.

ifancyashandy Sat 24-Nov-12 19:36:31

He was not good. Not 'staccato' enough.

RedZombie Sat 24-Nov-12 19:36:45

Natalie was doing all the work there.

WrathdePan Sat 24-Nov-12 19:36:47

How can you NOT be passionate when dancing with Natalie!!!

FrankelDeBeauvoir Sat 24-Nov-12 19:36:52

There was more passion in that than Kimberley's Tango!

I enjoyed that more than I thought I would.

cocolepew Sat 24-Nov-12 19:37:24

Darcy was writing notes with her hand over her eyes while lisa was on! She must have missed loads.

AndiMac Sat 24-Nov-12 19:37:46

Michael does good for a poor guy that really doesn't have a sense of rhythm.

chipstick10 Sat 24-Nov-12 19:38:45

I missed Michael the phone rang.

LadyIsabellaWrotham Sat 24-Nov-12 19:39:10

I thought Michael was OK, but suffering from the fact that Natalie is wearing Aliona's dress from Harry's AT last year, he's always going to suffer by comparison.

FrankelDeBeauvoir Sat 24-Nov-12 19:39:24

Go Len! He's so right!

RedZombie Sat 24-Nov-12 19:40:33

The fringe is throwing me off.
She is brilliant though.

ShotgunNotDoingThePans Sat 24-Nov-12 19:40:46

Backtracking a bit - why are they so mean to other people but never to Victoria? Louis was ao much better then her but he got all the nasty comments they obviously held back from her!

digerd Sat 24-Nov-12 19:41:14

Love that music Windows of my Mind, - a sultry, rousing Tango, which Natalie expressed very well - pity about Michael

chipstick10 Sat 24-Nov-12 19:41:49

Denise getting the best spot, dancing last. Natch

thenightsky Sat 24-Nov-12 19:42:06

I think they all realise how fragile victoria is and are gentle on her.

ifancyashandy Sat 24-Nov-12 19:42:25

I miss Aliona. She's the best dancer / choreographer IMHO.

ShotgunNotDoingThePans Sat 24-Nov-12 19:42:36

Lisa doesn't seem capable of a sway - for want of a better word.

RedZombie Sat 24-Nov-12 19:42:48

Because Victoria has hit her peak. No point be harsh with her, she's as good as it gets.
Louis could be Sooo much better.

FrankelDeBeauvoir Sat 24-Nov-12 19:42:51

A good celeb Rumba, though it is from DWtS rather than SCD.

Derek Hough trained in the UK under Lorna Lee and Michael Stylianos, who are still the top coaches in the world. They should try and get him for SCD one year.

digerd Sat 24-Nov-12 19:43:15

Very disappointed in Victoria tonight.

thenightsky Sat 24-Nov-12 19:43:25

LadyIsabellaWrotham Well done on spotting Aliona's dress grin

AndiMac Sat 24-Nov-12 19:43:42

LadyIsabella, well-remembered, definitely the same base material.

ifancyashandy Sat 24-Nov-12 19:44:10

I have insider info - they rigorously make sure every single dancer goes first / last in equal measure. As much as is possible when people leave etc... They have a chart in the office. Allegedly...

chipstick10 Sat 24-Nov-12 19:44:35

Nicky is dullsville

ifancyashandy Sat 24-Nov-12 19:45:26

You can't take your eyes of her. Not so good...

AndiMac Sat 24-Nov-12 19:45:26

Ooh, I'm loving this Charleston music. But dancing on the train tracks, won't anyone think of the children????

forehead Sat 24-Nov-12 19:45:30

Nicky is so full of himself

Horsemad Sat 24-Nov-12 19:45:46

Liked the Charleston.

Oodthunkit Sat 24-Nov-12 19:46:36

Thought they were pretty tough on Micheal. Maybe they think he can go further.

LadyIsabellaWrotham Sat 24-Nov-12 19:47:23

Nicky is a very lucky boy - got the pick of the Charleston music and Karen was absolutely phenomenal.

chipstick10 Sat 24-Nov-12 19:48:18

No way was that worth nines.

AndiMac Sat 24-Nov-12 19:48:41

Yes, Karen did one of those flip lifts basically on her own!

Oodthunkit Sat 24-Nov-12 19:48:46

Liked the charleston music.

Haha. Dd was very upset that they were dancing on the track. grin

FrankelDeBeauvoir Sat 24-Nov-12 19:49:12

BTW, I highly recommend going to this event if you can. Tickets are usually about £80. We went this year and it was fabulous, with some amazing dancers.

Oodthunkit Sat 24-Nov-12 19:49:44

Karen looked shocked at the scores.

Bruce seem much worse than usual tonight.

confuddledDOTcom Sat 24-Nov-12 19:49:57

But the prime minister does live at number 9 Downing St... confused
