MsNobodyAgain Tue 13-Nov-12 21:33:21

This is a thread for any fans of the afternoon soap called 'Doctors'

It's coming up to the festive season:

- Will Mrs T be permanently stationed under the mistletoe while Dr Cah-tah sweeps by, un-seduced by her fanciest wig and chrrrrrrrrrrrristmas cake?

- Will Zara and Daniel be reunited and have a Christmas kiss?

- Will Barry tie mistletoe to his security hat and go in search of true love?

- Has Kevin been getting my fan mail and will abandon Doctors to go forth with me and have a perfect life? <arf>

Please join in if you want to. Acronyms to follow but you don't have to use them, we are just glad desperate you are here grin

Well, when you put it like that I'm going to have to keep watching aren't I?

Sparklingbrook Tue 13-Nov-12 21:45:43

<combusts with excitement and expectation>

Thanks for the new thread MsN. You are spoiling us as usual. thanks

MsNobodyAgain Tue 13-Nov-12 21:50:22

Ta to Raahh (that rhymes) for this:

O.k- here goes, the SDTP's guide to Doctors

SDTP -sad Doctors thread participators, because that is what we are. And proud.
WTF?!- what the fuck- the usual exclamation of an SDTP, after an episode. Plots must not make sense.
BAH - boring as hell. An episode that fails to meet WTF standards.
TBFE - Practice manager Howard-a.k.a 'the bloke from Emmerdale'
Gobby - Karen the receptionist. Because she is.
Gobbyplod - Husband of Karen, Rob. Also know as 'The Only plod in the Village'
Princess Bubblegum - Cherry, annoying practice nurse, erstwhile perma-chirpy wife of Dr Jimmi. Latterly, miserable caaaahh after liason with fellow doctor, Daniel (see 'merlot o'clock'). has now left thank fuck
Chimmi - Cherry and Jimmi
Chaniel - Cherry and Daniel
Red trousers of luuuurve - Dr Kevin's pulling pants.
6tl - Emma, new locum, so named due to the fact she has been a different character 5 times before. This is 'sixth time lucky'
Merlot o'clock - the act of shagging best friend of husband, after boozing in the afternoon.
Beanbags - now redundant seating of choice, now Elaine the lentil weavery doctor has left. She of the 'necklaces of doom'. New seating arrangements tbc. Kevin's lap a possibility. ( reserved for MsN ) grin
Jizz - annoying new moany doctor. So named after she took to sex chat line work to supplement income. All her clients very speedy in the finishing department.
Mrs T - Mrs Tembe, wig wearing receptionist. Judgemental Christian. Hopes of a Hestembe relationship diminishing-see Dr Heston
Dr Heston - unlucky in love bow tie wearing doctor, unaware of Mrs T's affections.
Juuuuuuuliaaa - previous practice manager, Heston still lives in her house. She lives in Wales with MtM.
FOD - Lesbian practice nurse Mandy. Annoying. Her girlfriend (Freya) is dead. we are not allowed to forget. FOD stands for Forehead of Doom. It's mahoosive
MCL - Mad Cat Lady Val, hopefully temporary receptionist. Irritating beyond belief

MsNobodyAgain Tue 13-Nov-12 21:54:12

Thank you!!!! I put way to much energy into this thread. A proper SDTP indeed.

Now, where are the others? <cracks whip>

Horsemad Tue 13-Nov-12 21:55:53

Oodthunkit Tue 13-Nov-12 21:57:40

Now which of the empty waiting room chairs shall I have?

Horsemad (when you arrive) - re references- It's usually you've got the job subject to clearence. Don't hand your notice in before you've received confirmation.

Horsemad Tue 13-Nov-12 22:03:58

Just saw your post on the old thread Ood thanks!

MsNobodyAgain Tue 13-Nov-12 22:06:08

I've forgotten the policewoman as well. Erm,

CWPP Creepy Woman Police Person. Gobbyplods boss. Currently working undercover with him and getting all touchy feely with him.

Oodthunkit Tue 13-Nov-12 22:06:44

X-post!

we3kingsoforientRaahh Tue 13-Nov-12 22:32:49

MsNobodyAgain Tue 13-Nov-12 22:40:09

<preens>

I have a glass of.....Merlot! Totally unconscious decision to buy it in Home Bargains (classy) earlier. Along with toothbrushes, glue sticks, Moshi Monster mouthwash and a nail brush. Oh, you've gotta love a bit of Home Bargain shopping.

Wow, no Home Bargains near us envy.

I will raise a glass of wine with you though, thanks for the new thread.

BiscuitNibbler Wed 14-Nov-12 01:46:02

Signing in to lovely new thread from holiday so I don't lose you all on my return. I need support with my embarrassing addiction.

Can't believe there is a new doctor. Have they decided to start seeing patients or is that a step too far?

MsNobodyAgain Wed 14-Nov-12 13:48:44

Missed first few minutes. Damnation!

we3kingsoforientRaahh Wed 14-Nov-12 13:49:12

Right here we go. Finally get to watch live- tomorrow prob won't as dcs are off school due to the school being used for polling. Blimmin' police commissioners!grin

on my fb feed the Doctors bit said something like 'today is is cloudy in Leatherbridge'. It's like Balamorygrin

I'm not buying this Gobby plot- they were happy as larry a week ago. confused

MsNobodyAgain Wed 14-Nov-12 13:49:26

Gobbyplods got hair like Jeremy Kyle

MsNobodyAgain Wed 14-Nov-12 13:50:50

Is that a skeleton?

we3kingsoforientRaahh Wed 14-Nov-12 13:50:54

MsNo- you didn't miss muchgrin

Sparklingbrook Wed 14-Nov-12 13:52:32

Just tuned in. Lost. confused

MsNobodyAgain Wed 14-Nov-12 13:53:37

Don't ask me Sparkling. I'm juggling a sick kid, making corned beef hash and watching Doctors. I am lost too. confused

MsNobodyAgain Wed 14-Nov-12 13:54:16

Karen's lost weight.

we3kingsoforientRaahh Wed 14-Nov-12 13:54:23

poor Gobbysad

Sparklingbrook Wed 14-Nov-12 13:56:25

I have a poorly DS2. He is coughing like a barking dog. sad

Sparklingbrook Wed 14-Nov-12 13:57:28

What time of day is it supposed to be?

MsNobodyAgain Wed 14-Nov-12 13:57:43

We're a happy bunch aren't we? grin

At least that gold jacket is a classic.

we3kingsoforientRaahh Wed 14-Nov-12 13:57:51

Strange drunk old manhmm

They seem to be setting heston up to lose the quiz.

we3kingsoforientRaahh Wed 14-Nov-12 13:58:26

Stalker has had one too manygrin

Sparklingbrook Wed 14-Nov-12 13:58:37

Your wife is in the garden. <arf>

MsNobodyAgain Wed 14-Nov-12 13:58:49

It must be early evening? After all the patients have been <arf>

Sparklingbrook Wed 14-Nov-12 13:58:54

hahahahahahaha

we3kingsoforientRaahh Wed 14-Nov-12 13:59:17

oooh, she's going to mess it up. Nice shoulder padsgrin

we3kingsoforientRaahh Wed 14-Nov-12 14:04:25

right- confused

and dd2 keeps insisting I draw UpsyDaisy.

Sparklingbrook Wed 14-Nov-12 14:04:59

It's Al!!

MsNobodyAgain Wed 14-Nov-12 14:05:15

Oh goodness, not the new doc. I don't like him.

we3kingsoforientRaahh Wed 14-Nov-12 14:05:19

New Doctor is a bit of a geek.

Sparklingbrook Wed 14-Nov-12 14:06:05

This jimmi story is a bit BAH. Is it daylight again? Was dark at the undercover house.

MsNobodyAgain Wed 14-Nov-12 14:06:21

sad

we3kingsoforientRaahh Wed 14-Nov-12 14:06:38

Bloody hell this is complicated. And sadsad

Sparklingbrook Wed 14-Nov-12 14:07:59

Ooh we are off round Brum. My old stomping ground.

we3kingsoforientRaahh Wed 14-Nov-12 14:09:24

This is as close to a nail biting car chase as it gets for Leatherbridgegrin

Sparklingbrook Wed 14-Nov-12 14:09:53

This is going to go wrong presumably....

Sparklingbrook Wed 14-Nov-12 14:11:26

The storylines are all over the place today.

Sparklingbrook Wed 14-Nov-12 14:11:52

Another slap on it's way?

MsNobodyAgain Wed 14-Nov-12 14:12:05

ohhhh, where's Karen?

Sparklingbrook Wed 14-Nov-12 14:12:28

Eh? What? etc....

we3kingsoforientRaahh Wed 14-Nov-12 14:13:02

Would you give a baby to a man with a tache like that? Even for money?grin

I feel sorry for Gobby.

ooh goody- a nearly- wedding tomorrow, and the geezer who used to be in the Bill!

Iceaddict Wed 14-Nov-12 14:14:28

Freya is dead!!! Omg I turned my back for a few months. Ha. I used to book myself a fake client in to go and watch blush

MsNobodyAgain Wed 14-Nov-12 14:14:59

What was the point of the Jimmi / patient storyline? Mind you, it is Doctors so there is no point really grin

Poor Gobby.

Iceaddict Wed 14-Nov-12 14:16:31

To go home and watch doctors not a fake client. How odd!

we3kingsoforientRaahh Wed 14-Nov-12 14:17:26

pmsl @ Freya is dead!

we3kingsoforientRaahh Wed 14-Nov-12 14:19:22

I have no idea what the point of the Jimmi story was. He seems to spend a lot more time 'out of the office' than he used to.

Just finished watching. I thought the Jimmi storyline was quite moving if a bit unlikely.

As for the adoption, daylight when the plods went out for a meal (presumably it was a weekday?), daylight at the point when "your wife is in the garden", night time a few minutes later, unbelievable that Gobbyplod and CWPP would have gone on the chase and potentially broken their cover.

As for the quiz, what was the point of that?

Today's patient count was 1 (but already dead).

Sparklingbrook Wed 14-Nov-12 14:32:17

It's almost like the actor that plays Jimmi was away and just filmed his scenes nearby and sent the film in. That storyline could have been inserted into any old episode randomly.

MsNobodyAgain Wed 14-Nov-12 14:39:19

"Today's patient count was 1 (but already dead)"

Classic grin

MildredIsMyAlterEgo Wed 14-Nov-12 17:57:55

Many thanks for the new thread MsNo (very thorough, Mrs T would be verrrry proud grin )

Apologies for absence, I'm away in Poland and have missed loads - will I ever be able to catch up?

<lines up shot glasses for all and gets the Polish vodka out>

MsNobodyAgain Thu 15-Nov-12 01:23:23

Did I hear mention of vodka? <grabs glass>

I have 2 sick DC's. One with a temperature, and one that has been sick all over my bed an hour ago. Lovely. sad

I think you'll be safe on catching up Mildred grin, just ask and I'll explain any WTF'ness that has been going on in your absence.

<re-starts washing machine>

<curses fact I have white bedsheets>

Aha! I was looking at other thread and wondering why nobody had watched todaysblush

Perhaps Jimmis scenes were some sort of back up scene they filmed in case of emergency crap script writers or summat. A bit like I keep a home made lasagne and a curry in my freezer for when I can't be arsed cooking.

MsNobodyAgain Thu 15-Nov-12 01:38:34

TWTs you're probably right. Either that or the sun rises and set many times a day in Letherbridge.

Anyway, there goes my uncovered duvet...I'm going to have to sleep in my slanket now blush.

Sparklingbrook Thu 15-Nov-12 10:08:14

Morning MsN. how are the poorly children. DS2 still lolling around in bed all boiling hot and coughing. He has an episode of the squits just to add to the fun. sad

MsNobodyAgain Thu 15-Nov-12 10:30:40

Morning Sparkling. Hope your DS2 gets better soon.

DD still has a temperature - 3rd day running confused. DS2 is napping. Seems quite poorly sad.

My Mum is being sent on a mission to get me a new duvet, patterned duvet covers, sheets and towels. All I need now is a phone call from the school telling me DS1 is ill...

Oodthunkit Thu 15-Nov-12 12:46:39

Just caught up. Andre must be incredibly stupid to not notice the tail, Gobby knows he is doing an undercover thing so shouldn't be following him and why are they undercover in their own area anyway!

we3kingsoforientRaahh Thu 15-Nov-12 13:14:47

sad about the poorly dcs MrsN- hope they recover soon.

Mine are off due to polling. I'm not sure what to do about voting, knowing nothing about the candidates, or the job or anythingconfused Might as well vote GobbyPlod in as Police commissioner, reallygrin.

I LOVE the idea that Leatherbridge is the Land of the Three Sunsets(or something). The now it's evening/now it's mid-afternoon business was very odd!

I cba to catch up, but I HAVE INTERNET!

Sorry about all the poorly DCs, hope they are all better soon. Mine are at school, oblivious to the fact that lots of other schools are closed today. I'm going to vote but only to try and keep out a candidate I detest.

Re the undercover thing, was that actually CWPP's real house? Surely not. The most amateur bunch of police officers ever seen on TV.

The theory of keeping storylines in cold storage ready for CBA days may go some way towards explaining the bizarreness and lack of continuity of much of it. Maybe they do all the location stuff separately and then add it in randomly (would explain the weird day to night stuff).

MsNobodyAgain Thu 15-Nov-12 13:47:25

Thanks all.

Now here we go on todays WTF-fest. grin

we3kingsoforientRaahh Thu 15-Nov-12 13:47:50

Is Bill bloke's mum in the baggrin?

MsNobodyAgain Thu 15-Nov-12 13:48:41

The Gobbys are on form.

we3kingsoforientRaahh Thu 15-Nov-12 13:48:46

wow- a room full of patients!!

Yes, blink and you missed them though.

we3kingsoforientRaahh Thu 15-Nov-12 13:50:03

short marriage!

we3kingsoforientRaahh Thu 15-Nov-12 13:51:12

Have they not got a lift? Not very disabled friendlyhmm

MsNobodyAgain Thu 15-Nov-12 13:51:14

What's in the bag? What's in the bag? What's in the bag?????

Why are a middle aged honeymoon couple pitching up at a campus surgery?

we3kingsoforientRaahh Thu 15-Nov-12 13:54:06

either his mother, or he's a cross dresser.

Not had a cross dressing storyline for about a weekgrin

we3kingsoforientRaahh Thu 15-Nov-12 13:55:17

or he has a ventriloquist dummy.

Or a teddy bear. Has anyone seen the film Ted? It's very funnynotforkids!

Keep breathing, did she think he was going to stop?

MsNobodyAgain Thu 15-Nov-12 13:55:52

grin

her tiara doesn't go with the beading on her dress <wedding dress-a-holic>

subtle, Gobby. Don;t wait 'til he's left before you crack out the Febreze...

MsNobodyAgain Thu 15-Nov-12 14:00:28

The length of that marriage beats Britneys shock

MsNobodyAgain Thu 15-Nov-12 14:02:04

It's not an urn again is it?

Too much information alert!

hah - he's got mother's ashes in the bag!

we3kingsoforientRaahh Thu 15-Nov-12 14:03:55

I SAID it was his mum!

Dh just rang me- I've lost 5 minutes and am very confused....

MsNobodyAgain Thu 15-Nov-12 14:05:46

Oh dear God, Gobby, you idiot.

OMG - Gobby fostering!

Jeezus.

wotaknob

we3kingsoforientRaahh Thu 15-Nov-12 14:06:48

Poor Gobbysad

we3kingsoforientRaahh Thu 15-Nov-12 14:07:50

'stupid brainless selfish pig' grin

No way is that a vintage dress

MsNobodyAgain Thu 15-Nov-12 14:09:52

A woman after my own heart. Exactly what I would have done.

we3kingsoforientRaahh Thu 15-Nov-12 14:09:55

She's taken off the dressgrinshock

think I'd wander round in my undies if I had a figure like that.... nice pins.

Anyone wishing my intenet had stayed dead yet?

MsNobodyAgain Thu 15-Nov-12 14:11:48

I'm liking it Cakes smile

we3kingsoforientRaahh Thu 15-Nov-12 14:12:10

I'm confused about6tl's son...

WTF is it with men with controlling mothers? Are we to assume the scriptwriters have got ISHOOS?

stoatie Thu 15-Nov-12 14:14:44

Haven't children suffered enough without being fostered by gobby and gobbyplod!

MsNobodyAgain Thu 15-Nov-12 14:15:30

Yes, Chris is obviously resentful about something.

Kevin has ishoooooos about his heritage.

Heston is a cricket bat wielding rage machine.

Jimmi is a clean/running OCD freak.

Daniel ... list is too long!

All perfectly normal hmm

Sparklingbrook Thu 15-Nov-12 15:18:08

Just watching today's. The groom is Huw Higginson who had a baby with Hannah Waterman. Who was in Doctors a few weeks ago. wink

we3kingsoforientRaahh Thu 15-Nov-12 15:20:34

Sparkling- I know- was all a bit seedy. Poor child- him for a father and that whiny woman for a mother!

Sparklingbrook Thu 15-Nov-12 15:24:48

Who did she leave for Huw? I can't remember.

I have no idea what's going on here TBH.

Sparklingbrook Thu 15-Nov-12 15:32:04

Poor Gobby. sad

Horsemad Thu 15-Nov-12 16:06:23

Sparkling didn't she leave the bloke who was in Eastenders & was on Strictly a few series ago? Don't know his name 'cause don't watch EE but it might be Gary? He was quite good on Strictly as I recall...

Sparklingbrook Thu 15-Nov-12 16:31:30

YY that was him Horse. Ricky Groves.

Horsemad Thu 15-Nov-12 16:42:14

Ah yes, Ricky grin

toldmywrath Thu 15-Nov-12 19:28:57

Thanks for the new thread MsNo you wrote & I quote "Has Kevin been getting my fan mail and will abandon Doctors to go forth with me and have a perfect life? <arf>"
I really wish you'd misspelt forth, and instead said he'd gone fourth with you. I could've gone second, who would've gone first??

MsNobodyAgain Fri 16-Nov-12 12:32:14

grin told, first would probably have been some dirty bint he picked up at the Icon. Although he may be wary of liaisons now since girlfriends keep dying and setting fire to things.

That's why he needs a nice, quiet, middle aged woman. We're a lot more stable don't ya know wink

MsNobodyAgain Fri 16-Nov-12 13:47:23

A cat hater is featured today Sparkling sad

Sparklingbrook Fri 16-Nov-12 13:47:32

Hello. Me and DS2 signing in. He's still lolling on the sofa. hmm

Cool. Turns out my telly has some funky features I knew nothing about, like setting reminders for programmes that cause the tv to turn itself on or switch over from dvd so I haven't missed an episode this week! Love it.

MsNobodyAgain Fri 16-Nov-12 13:52:20

Sounds impressive Cakes

Sparkling I've still got DS2 and DD off. And don't even get me started on the doctors appointment we had this morning... angry

Sparklingbrook Fri 16-Nov-12 13:54:38

Ha he hasn't got an allergy. Thanks for the warning MsN. sad Have you still got the DC at home?

No home visit then, Ms. No...?

Sparklingbrook Fri 16-Nov-12 13:55:41

'Honey I'm home' <arf>

OMG CWPP has lost the plot.

Sparklingbrook Fri 16-Nov-12 13:56:56

WATERFALL CARDI shock

MsNobodyAgain Fri 16-Nov-12 13:57:23

Still at home.

And no home visit, but an hour waiting to be seen shock. Wouldn't happen at The Mill.

Methinks Gobbys boss is getting into this a bit too much...

MsNobodyAgain Fri 16-Nov-12 13:58:12

Who has the waterfall cardi on? CWPP?

MsNobodyAgain Fri 16-Nov-12 13:58:58

Is it only in the area where I live live where all the doctors receptionists are behind security glass?

Sparklingbrook Fri 16-Nov-12 13:59:22

YY a grey one MsN. They are obviously using Elaine's wardrobe.

V cute baby.

Is that meant to be the same baby? Looks about 6 months younger

Sparklingbrook Fri 16-Nov-12 14:00:31

That cat has a v loud purr.

Sparklingbrook Fri 16-Nov-12 14:01:23

This thing with beefy and CWPP and the baby is creepy.

MsNobodyAgain Fri 16-Nov-12 14:03:22

I'm getting broody

When I was in Cov they had the security glass, but not here in the sarf east. far too naice ;)

How come they haven't got a social worker involved with this baby story?

Sparklingbrook Fri 16-Nov-12 14:05:37

The baby looks fine. confused This storyline is odd. Do the Police really do this sort of thing?

Hilarious!

And feel free to borrow Baby Cakes, that might cure you, especially if you have him overnight!

Sparklingbrook Fri 16-Nov-12 14:06:54

Exactly Who. Wouldn't the baby be whisked away straight away to foster parents? Are they going to live in the house with the baby? confused

MsNobodyAgain Fri 16-Nov-12 14:07:52

ha cakes, my broodiness passes in about 5 minutes.

Hang on......a painting cat! That is proper WTF'ness of a whole new level.

Sparklingbrook Fri 16-Nov-12 14:09:57

'Early night' shock

Noooooooo

MsNobodyAgain Fri 16-Nov-12 14:12:56

"I do a great back rub" shock

DS2 has just said "Next time on Doctors" blush

This whole episode is reeking of desperation.

And why is the baby wearing a hat inside?

That was dire <shakes head>.

Sparklingbrook Fri 16-Nov-12 14:17:07

The WTFness is WTF now. Just as you thought it couldn't get any more WTF. confused

Horsemad Fri 16-Nov-12 15:40:48

Was the cat bit good? Will watch if it was. My cat wasn't around this morning when I called her, so I actually looked in the bin just in case some odd person had put her in the bins (bin day here today).

MsNobodyAgain Fri 16-Nov-12 15:48:24

No it wasn't Horsemad. You never saw the cat actually paint hmm

Hope your cat turned up. I remember that awful story about the woman who put the cat in the bin last year. Bizarre. That could have been a Doctors WTF storyline for sure.

Horsemad Fri 16-Nov-12 16:07:50

Yes she did turn up thanks MsNo - after I'd gone to work. I made DH get out of bed to find her! grin

we3kingsoforientRaahh Fri 16-Nov-12 17:03:41

Right- watching now. What's this about a painting cat??

I hope Gobby and Plod don't split up over this. It will be like my parent's splitting upgrin

we3kingsoforientRaahh Fri 16-Nov-12 17:04:38

Stalker Val needs to go. Along with Plods 'tache.

Sparklingbrook Fri 16-Nov-12 17:08:20

Raahh Val reminds me of the ditzy, thick blonde girl in the Vicar of Dibley -was it Alice?

we3kingsoforientRaahh Fri 16-Nov-12 17:11:02

Alice had some redeeming qualities, though Sparklinggrin

The woman at the polling station yesterday looked scarily like Valhmm.

we3kingsoforientRaahh Fri 16-Nov-12 17:12:24

Cute babygrin

we3kingsoforientRaahh Fri 16-Nov-12 17:15:18

The cat would have to go hidesfrom*Sparkling*

we3kingsoforientRaahh Fri 16-Nov-12 17:20:09

I really wanted the baby to throw up down Poddy's back....

we3kingsoforientRaahh Fri 16-Nov-12 17:20:22

ploddy

we3kingsoforientRaahh Fri 16-Nov-12 17:22:28

ffs. WTF.
pmsl

and other acronymsgrin

we3kingsoforientRaahh Fri 16-Nov-12 17:24:26

Early night??

we3kingsoforientRaahh Fri 16-Nov-12 17:26:31

Val's an idiot.

Val really sounds like Alice. But Alice is nicer. Maybe they could have a little slot at the end where one of the Doctors tells Val a joke and she completely fails to understand it.

Sparklingbrook Fri 16-Nov-12 18:08:49

YY I would love that Who. grinThe thing is being a proper Doctors' Receptionist is a bloody hard job and I doubt Val would have got through the interview TBH.

I do realise I have a really good GP surgery with non scary, intelligent staff, and a 24 hour automated appointment booking line. grin

toldmywrath Fri 16-Nov-12 18:38:05

No security glass at our GP's surgery (yet)
Truly WTF today-taken to a whole new wtf level.
Our neighbours have a new car & the reg is FOD !! Whenever I come back I immediately think of Doctors, I wonder what they would say if they knew..

MsNobodyAgain Fri 16-Nov-12 18:47:26

My schools have security glass on reception. I must be rough as a bears arse shock

MsNobodyAgain Fri 16-Nov-12 18:48:42

grin at FOD car plate.

Your surgery sounds like mine Sparkling. However the big difference is that in Doctors there is only one patient per day and half of those just roll in randomly without an appointment. There are no baby clinics, flu jabs, midwives, even Val ought to be able to cope.

we3kingsoforientRaahh Fri 16-Nov-12 19:14:55

grin @FOD.

I've spent too much time looking at cars lately. Including an unfortune 08 plate with the pre-fix Kn- so it looked like 'KNOB'- < childish snigger>

we3kingsoforientRaahh Fri 16-Nov-12 19:15:36

I'm still a bithmm that the campus appears to not have a lift.

I agree, who on earth would open a GP surgery in an upstairs premises without a lift? Anyone would think they didn't want to see any patients <penny drops>

we3kingsoforientRaahh Fri 16-Nov-12 19:37:59

patients...there's a novel idea...

<e-mails writers>

MsNobodyAgain Fri 16-Nov-12 20:40:38

Poke Martin. His episode should be on soon. There has got to be a prize for whoever sees his name first.

My prizes are shit and from the Poundshop so don't kill yourselves grin

we3kingsoforientRaahh Fri 16-Nov-12 20:56:49

Martin said his episode was Spooks inspiredgrin

Sparklingbrook Fri 16-Nov-12 21:58:54

I have found this. Hanbury Hall is just up the road from me. But WTF is that picture all about??

Horsemad Fri 16-Nov-12 22:02:33

Sparkling have u seen the kittens video on chat? Is lovely grin

Sparklingbrook Fri 16-Nov-12 22:04:35

I have thanks Horsemad. grin Nearest I am going to get to a real life one. sad

Horsemad Fri 16-Nov-12 22:07:50

I'm obsessed by them!! grin

Is it the Doctors Christmas do?

we3kingsoforientRaahh Fri 16-Nov-12 22:14:20

I love that Doctors picture! They should do -- an x-rated-- Panto.

MsNobodyAgain Fri 16-Nov-12 22:17:01

What's that all about then? I'm not on weird stalkery place FB any more.

It must be a Christmas do. TBFE looks mighty fine.

Sparklingbrook Fri 16-Nov-12 22:17:11

I think it looked a bit 'Murder mystery Christmas do'. But have no idea.

MsNobodyAgain Sun 18-Nov-12 08:47:25

Just bumping the thread back up the page. I don't like to see it halfway down the list...we may miss on on new recruits (yeah, right) grin

Oodthunkit Sun 18-Nov-12 09:28:14

Am caught up now. Picking so many holes in the baby plot line that I can't be bothered to list them here blush

Can we hunt martin down and get him back when it's his episode?

MsNobodyAgain Sun 18-Nov-12 10:07:59

holes in a Doctors plot line shock

grin

I bet Martin will secretly check our thread for feedback or he may have a life, unlike me

Oodthunkit Sun 18-Nov-12 11:42:57

I thought this was life ?!?!?!?

I can't remember the last time I watched Doctors but I saw a bit of Wednesdays on catchup.

WTF is the 'tasche all about GobbyPlod??????

I need to get hold of him and wax him grin

Sparklingbrook Sun 18-Nov-12 14:39:22

It's for Movember 70, he has set up an undercover house with another plod and she seems to find it very attractive. sad

Who's Martin?

Sparklingbrook Sun 18-Nov-12 15:02:38

It was many threads back Who and IIRC someone knew a scriptwriter called Martin that wrote scrips for Doctors amongst other things.

I see, well let's hope they are keeping up with the thread.

Sparklingbrook Sun 18-Nov-12 15:05:40

He was pointed in this direction Who. I don't know whether the scriptwriters would be proud or disappointed that we don't know what's going on. grin

MsNobodyAgain Mon 19-Nov-12 13:46:56

Chris has been added to the opening credits so I guess he is staying.

Sparklingbrook Mon 19-Nov-12 13:47:55

Afternoon all.

MsNobodyAgain Mon 19-Nov-12 13:49:25

Hello Sparkling

I'm not liking this new doctor, Al. Just the quick sight of him annoyed me.

Raw egg - wtf?
They've still got the baby - wtf?
Jimmi has a full patient list - come on!

MsNobodyAgain Mon 19-Nov-12 13:50:56

I was wondering about the egg confused

Four patients already

MsNobodyAgain Mon 19-Nov-12 13:56:51

Shades of Freya storyline. Remember when she was observing with Zara and kept butting in and jumping to conclusions.

MsNobodyAgain Mon 19-Nov-12 13:57:59

I've just realised I dislike Al so much as he looks very like my last boyfriend blush

Sparklingbrook Mon 19-Nov-12 14:02:37

WTF????

Scary husband

MsNobodyAgain Mon 19-Nov-12 14:03:25

sad

Sparklingbrook Mon 19-Nov-12 14:03:48

Home visit!!!!!

Sparklingbrook Mon 19-Nov-12 14:05:47

I am glad DS2 has gone back to school and he's not watching this one with me. sad

MistressFord Mon 19-Nov-12 14:06:02

Why have they still got the baby?

MistressFord Mon 19-Nov-12 14:06:03

Why have they still got the baby?

Sparklingbrook Mon 19-Nov-12 14:06:23

Who does the baby actually belong to?

Sparklingbrook Mon 19-Nov-12 14:07:31

Leave the Bastard Judith!

Sparklingbrook Mon 19-Nov-12 14:08:38

OMG has she killed him? shock

MsNobodyAgain Mon 19-Nov-12 14:09:19

The baby plot is getting more WTF by the minute.

Why is Jimmi frozen?

MistressFord Mon 19-Nov-12 14:09:31

Ooops, too late to leave him

Sparklingbrook Mon 19-Nov-12 14:09:44

Jimmi hmm

Sparklingbrook Mon 19-Nov-12 14:10:15

She's going to come down the stairs and kill them all perhaps. grin

MsNobodyAgain Mon 19-Nov-12 14:10:26

'wife abusing waste of skin'. Yep, that's about right.

Sparklingbrook Mon 19-Nov-12 14:11:23

Well isn't this jolly for a Monday lunchtime?? sad

I can't believe they let him take the baby.

MsNobodyAgain Mon 19-Nov-12 14:13:58

If Val makes it into the credits, I'm off. Hate that woman.

And where's Mrs T and when will Daniel be back?

stoatie Mon 19-Nov-12 14:14:22

Is Jimmi having flashbacks to his abusive childhood - or when he was held hostage a few years ago (chained toradiator?)

MsNobodyAgain Mon 19-Nov-12 14:17:37

I think it was the hostage thing. He looks close to a breakdown tries to remember it's not real

Wiki says Val leaves on 3rd Dec (but she is listed as a recurring character).

MsNobodyAgain Mon 19-Nov-12 14:31:57

Ta Who. I'm sure they have all these actors secured with elastic and they just ping them back in as and when needed.

we3kingsoforientRaahh Mon 19-Nov-12 18:06:10

I haven't seen today- but woot! to Stalker leavinggrin

2plus2 Mon 19-Nov-12 19:24:50

Hi all, I'm still watching but lost your updates for a while blush anyway, like the new doc, but very worried about Jimmi he's gone all serious, think he's going to crack. Can't wait grin

we3kingsoforientRaahh Mon 19-Nov-12 19:30:57

ok- here we are. It is the 19th- so not much longer to suffer Gobbyplod's 'tache'.grin

Jimmi is really quite rude, I mean, I know his wife has left him and all...

Surely, surely SS wouldn't allow 2 police officers to keep hold of a baby, whoever they are. It is too odd. And CWPP is too creepy to look after a child.

Ooh, Al rolls his own. And how come Jimmi is bothered about Al's fashion sense, when Freya was allowed to flaunt her ample boobs in vest tops every dayconfused

we3kingsoforientRaahh Mon 19-Nov-12 19:33:23

I like Dr Al's doodlesgrin

And that woman is way too skinny for a gastric bandhmm Size 14 for a gastric band???

Sparklingbrook Mon 19-Nov-12 19:34:08

Raahh the baby storyline really bothers me. Do the police really do this? Why have they given the baby back? Are beefyplod and CWPP sleeping at that house with the baby? confused

Today's episode was quite grim and dare I say not really suitable for lunchtime viewing.

we3kingsoforientRaahh Mon 19-Nov-12 19:38:58

I don't get the baby storyline Sparkling. Sure, whilst the people they are watching are around they can keep up the family pretence, but the rest of the time? Just doesn't seem right at all.

I'm also worried about CWPP getting too close to the baby.

I didn't think it was suitable either, I would have been reaching for the off button if the DCs had been at home.

The police thing is one of the most unrealistic bits of drama I have ever seen. They would have been trained and counselled by specialists, would have social services hovering and trained foster parents on hand, would not be keeping the baby overnight and would not have let the baby go again.

Sparklingbrook Mon 19-Nov-12 19:40:09

Who does the baby really belong to?

we3kingsoforientRaahh Mon 19-Nov-12 19:40:35

The self harming bit was grim.

Sparklingbrook Mon 19-Nov-12 19:43:00

The self harming thing was just unnecessary, and creepy. The blood in the bin and the poor woman was clearly suffering very badly with mental health problems. sad She was a good actress actually.

we3kingsoforientRaahh Mon 19-Nov-12 19:47:25

She is a good actress.

Leatherbridge is worse than Midsomer, body count wisehmm

we3kingsoforientRaahh Mon 19-Nov-12 19:48:27

I'm probably alone, but I liked Al, and him getting Jimmi to shape himselfgrin

Sparklingbrook Mon 19-Nov-12 19:50:04

I am willing to let Al grow on me IYKWIM. He's in the credits so I will make an effort.

we3kingsoforientRaahh Mon 19-Nov-12 19:53:56

At least he can act- unlike Jizz/Stalker/CWPP most of the cast....

grin

MsNobodyAgain Mon 19-Nov-12 19:59:57

Al's in the credits shock

How did I miss that one? Oh I know, I've got DS2's bug and have spent half the day puking. G.R.E.A.T. Lone parenthood and being ill sucks, big time.
envy <--- sick face

LizzieVereker Mon 19-Nov-12 20:00:36

Can I join? I have a waterfall cardigan or three and always watch on I Player while I am cooking tea. The plots get more "WTAF" when you've got your back to the IPad because you're cooking summat.

I've got high hopes for Al after his"useless waste of skin" comment to the dying nutter. I need to know:
What's up with Jimmy?
Why did the CWPP steal the baby shoe? Is she going to steal Rob's shoe when he has to go home to Gobby?

MsNobodyAgain Mon 19-Nov-12 20:06:24

<clings to Lizzie>

Welcome! grin

I think Jimmy is having flashbacks to when he was kidnapped by a mad patient some years ago.

CWPP presumably has some baby issues. Never had children. Regrets she never had them. <arf> at stealing Rob's shoe. Could you imagine Gobbys wrath??

Sparklingbrook Mon 19-Nov-12 20:13:52

Do the scriptwriters honestly believe that we will remember something that happened years ago? Bit of an ask when we don't know what the bobbins went on today, yesterday or last week? confused

LizzieVereker Mon 19-Nov-12 20:15:54

Thank you for the lovely welcome,MsN! If it's Ok, I'll sit on this plastic chair here, and to earn my keep, perhaps I could be in charge of monitoring the cleanliness of Heston's Port Meirion?.

I think Gobby probably still puts a name tape in all Rob's clothes so she will DEFINITELY know if he loses a shoe to CWPP's clutches. I feel sorry for the baby, but she's probably relieved to get away from that woman's tuneless cooing, and get back to the Pizza shop with Andre.

Sparklingbrook Mon 19-Nov-12 20:18:42

Hi Lizzie. I think you will like it on this thread. We try and understand the 'storylines' we really do but we never quite get there. grin

toldmywrath Mon 19-Nov-12 20:21:49

Hello Lizzie & welcome to the surgery!
I quite warmed to Al today as well. Snog marry avoid the nurses to Jimmy (arf)
I think Jimmy is heading for a breakdown & he was reminded of his hostage situation today -was it 2 Stoatie & MsNo who said this earlier?
There is a shoe theme developing here-didn't someone's mum sniff new shoes on an epsiode last week (is there a fetishist amongst the writers perhaps?)

MsNobodyAgain Mon 19-Nov-12 20:23:28

There's always plenty of spare chairs Lizzie - I blame the lack of patients myself.

I had to Google Port Meirion grin. Neanderthal that I am.

Sparkling is right. You'll like this thread and the 'storylines' wouldn't make much sense even if you were glued to your iPad.

toldmywrath Mon 19-Nov-12 20:23:36

Oops cross thread with MsNo!

MsNobodyAgain Mon 19-Nov-12 20:25:03

grin at shoe fetishist. That's all we need. It'll get more WTF by the minute.

LizzieVereker Mon 19-Nov-12 20:34:49

Thanks all for the welcome. Just to be clear, I own no Port Meirion. I have cheapo plates, because I break so many trying to cook and keep up with events in Letherbridge (Leatherbridge?) at the same time.

My favourite Doctors personage is Mrs T. She is top quality telly.

MsNobodyAgain Mon 19-Nov-12 20:53:31

Mrs T is ace! I didn't like her at first but she is great (when she's not in judgy-pants Christian mode). She was very nice to the guy who had a blow up doll for a girlfriend the other week...

we3kingsoforientRaahh Mon 19-Nov-12 23:16:43

I love Mrs T and her wigs- but it still freaks me out when I see her on Grandpa in my pocket (GIMP) or worse, Tikkabillagrin

LizzieVereker Mon 19-Nov-12 23:46:23

The other day I found myself wondering how close Letherbridge might be to Ambridge. I really need to get out more, and take in interest in real people.

we3kingsoforientRaahh Tue 20-Nov-12 13:42:23

Real people?grin
nope, much too scary!

MsNobodyAgain Tue 20-Nov-12 13:48:35

Al isn't doing himself any favours.

we3kingsoforientRaahh Tue 20-Nov-12 13:48:54

Another week, another cross dressing storyline.

I think one of the writers is trying to tell us something.

Stalker Val is annoying me. I even feel sorry for FODgrin

MsNobodyAgain Tue 20-Nov-12 13:50:31

Feel sorry for FOD shock. Never.

Val is so desperate it's quite sad.

we3kingsoforientRaahh Tue 20-Nov-12 13:51:40

ok- confused. Is the woman Jimmi is treating, the stolen baby's mother?

MsNobodyAgain Tue 20-Nov-12 13:52:02

Oh god, not another cancer storyline.

MsNobodyAgain Tue 20-Nov-12 13:52:42

That would be a WTF coincidence Raahh so you're probably right.

we3kingsoforientRaahh Tue 20-Nov-12 13:53:58

Absolutely, MrsN- after all in the real world these investigations would take months. In Doctors, it has to be wrapped up in a fortnight!

MsNobodyAgain Tue 20-Nov-12 13:58:12

Why is Val there? Has she gatecrashed?

we3kingsoforientRaahh Tue 20-Nov-12 13:58:35

Stalker must go.

we3kingsoforientRaahh Tue 20-Nov-12 13:59:03

Yes-- she guilted FOD into letting her tag along.

MsNobodyAgain Tue 20-Nov-12 13:59:47

Not exactly playing the doting son is he hmm

Where have I seen cancer back man before?

I'm 5 mins behind, but my first thought isthat shoplifter is the baby's mum.

we3kingsoforientRaahh Tue 20-Nov-12 14:01:28

He was Victoria Wood's boyfriend in Dinnerladies- but he's been in a few things. I liked Dinnerladiesblush

Val really is Alice Tinker isn't she?

we3kingsoforientRaahh Tue 20-Nov-12 14:02:00

Ta da!

we3kingsoforientRaahh Tue 20-Nov-12 14:04:40

Nice to know that Doctors doesn't let us down in the coincidence stakes!

MsNobodyAgain Tue 20-Nov-12 14:05:00

Bingo for Raahh!

we3kingsoforientRaahh Tue 20-Nov-12 14:10:16

Spit it out FOD

MsNobodyAgain Tue 20-Nov-12 14:10:40

Val, you're being dumped luv...

we3kingsoforientRaahh Tue 20-Nov-12 14:10:57

Nice blouse.

we3kingsoforientRaahh Tue 20-Nov-12 14:11:49

pmsl @'shoes'

Writer is def a shoe fetishist!

MsNobodyAgain Tue 20-Nov-12 14:12:24

I hope he knows not to wear suede shoes in the rain. Neighbour was nice.

Wheresmygalaxy Tue 20-Nov-12 14:17:32

I had to go and settle the baby but what did i miss, 1 minute he had cancer in his back, the next thing he was in a womans outfit.

thats 2 whole episodes worth of storylines right there...

Good for the neighbour. Do you think Al and Val could get together?

MsNobodyAgain Tue 20-Nov-12 14:26:27

Wheres his family had left him because he was a cross-dresser. Dr Carter told him to be as comfortable as possible so he nipped upstairs and did a quick change.

Al and Val...could you imagine how the babies would look? <shudder>

I didn't think as far ahead as baby making! Was thinking of cosy evenings of him throwing insults at her and her totally misunderstanding everything. How old do you think she's meant to be? 40 or so I would say.

we3kingsoforientRaahh Tue 20-Nov-12 20:25:21

Al and Val can't get together, because then we would just have to call them...Val. Which is boringgrin

Horsemad Tue 20-Nov-12 20:37:51

grin grin grin

Oodthunkit Tue 20-Nov-12 21:13:29

Catching up. Baby story convenient!

Horsemad Wed 21-Nov-12 11:47:10

I will be watching today's episode with a hot/cold compress on my neck sad I have cricked my neck during bedroom athletics last night grin & am in pain!

MsNobodyAgain Wed 21-Nov-12 12:56:49

envy at 'bedroom athletics'. And here's me sat with a bowl and a spare bog-roll because of a tummy bug.

Apologies to anyone eating lunch grin

Sparklingbrook Wed 21-Nov-12 13:00:46

Hi all. I am here and Ds2 has gone back to school Yay! But DS2 is now off sick Boo!!

MsNobodyAgain Wed 21-Nov-12 13:03:10

It's like an illness roundabout when you've got more than one child isn't it?

Sigh.

Sparklingbrook Wed 21-Nov-12 13:15:22

He's upstairs lolling about in bed. Don't think he will be joining me for Doctors. sad

MsNobodyAgain Wed 21-Nov-12 13:18:27

That's probably a good thing given the WTFness that is Doctors. It could possibly make him feel worse. Poor DS. x

Horsemad Wed 21-Nov-12 13:24:34

Horsemad Cat is doing my head in. She keeps miaowing to go out, but doesn't want to because it's raining!!

MsNobodyAgain Wed 21-Nov-12 13:47:44

Ha! in the 'previously' bit, did you see Jimmi's face when he got confronted by that womans chest? shock

Sparklingbrook Wed 21-Nov-12 13:52:53

So he's running a brothel too. sad

MsNobodyAgain Wed 21-Nov-12 13:54:08

A right charmer.

That actresses accent keeps changing.

Just no way would those two be doing the questioning as well as the undercover part.

Sparklingbrook Wed 21-Nov-12 13:56:04

Comedy decorators hmm

MsNobodyAgain Wed 21-Nov-12 13:57:29

'Cabbage Drab' paint colour. Can't see that catching on at Farrow and Ball.

Sparklingbrook Wed 21-Nov-12 14:00:40
MsNobodyAgain Wed 21-Nov-12 14:03:21

He's tainted Dok-tah Cah-tahs china shock

Chest area!

MsNobodyAgain Wed 21-Nov-12 14:04:00

"will you stop looking at my chest area". Oh, Mrs T, I luvs you.

Horsemad Wed 21-Nov-12 14:04:04

Doctors is fast becoming the 'Crossroads' of this era grin

Sparklingbrook Wed 21-Nov-12 14:04:32

How have Val and Mrs T got time to do this? confused

No patients as usual.

Wrist action, hmmm.

MsNobodyAgain Wed 21-Nov-12 14:05:59

They need bigger rollers.

Sparklingbrook Wed 21-Nov-12 14:06:06

Rollers and brushes? confused

Horsemad Wed 21-Nov-12 14:06:08

Nobody has any work to do!! Loving the 'wrist action'

God, I though he was going to push the pregnant one down the stairs

Sparklingbrook Wed 21-Nov-12 14:07:38

Has the baby shrunk?

MsNobodyAgain Wed 21-Nov-12 14:07:40

You use rollers for the big bits and brushes for the cutting in. Mandy had it all wrong - including her wrist action grin

Sparklingbrook Wed 21-Nov-12 14:08:07

Oh no it's all going pear shaped. shock

Shambles

Sparklingbrook Wed 21-Nov-12 14:08:47

Well another cheery episode for any pre-schoolers watching. sad

Sparklingbrook Wed 21-Nov-12 14:09:39

Go beefyplod!!!!

Horsemad Wed 21-Nov-12 14:09:56

Oooh manly Gobby.

Horsemad Wed 21-Nov-12 14:10:34

Cute baby smile

Sparklingbrook Wed 21-Nov-12 14:12:11

Well thank goodness that storyline has come to an end.

Horsemad Wed 21-Nov-12 14:12:59

Escape to the Country next grin

Another one I would have not wanted the DCs watching. Worked out quite well in the end.

toldmywrath Wed 21-Nov-12 15:17:26

Horsemad cat will dissolve in this weather (that's what my cats tell me anyway when they dither about in/out/in out).
Is Sparklingcat in or out?
Yay to shoe bingo!

Horsemad Wed 21-Nov-12 15:24:31

told she ventured out for 5 mins then sat outside miaowing to come in!!

Sparklingbrook Wed 21-Nov-12 15:34:20

Sparkling Cat is very much in and fast asleep told has been since 7am this morning.hmm She may go out for a poke about if her tabby boyfriend from over the road appears. grin

toldmywrath Wed 21-Nov-12 15:37:35

shock at Sparklingcat
Hello to Horsemadcat

LizzieVereker Wed 21-Nov-12 19:26:18

Well, my IPlayer went mad and randomly tuned in half way through. When I saw the painting suits I thought there had been an outbreak of Ebola and Mrs T was in a biohazard suit. Very confusing.

I can't believe how many "plots" we've been through in the last 2 episodes. I'm quite worn out.

Oodthunkit Wed 21-Nov-12 20:05:29

Well that was a particularly tense episode especially since iplayer kept stopping so took an hour

Am glad the baby story is over though.

MsNobodyAgain Wed 21-Nov-12 21:18:36

The baby story was one of the longest we have had recently. I find those more tiring than the mini plots as I have the memory span of a goldfish.

we3kingsoforientRaahh Wed 21-Nov-12 21:24:21

ok. WTF was going on with the decorators? 'Cabbage drab' grin

we3kingsoforientRaahh Wed 21-Nov-12 21:26:30

Does the conclusion of the story mean poor Gobbyplod is back on the beat? His tache is starting to look like a comedy paintbrushgrin

we3kingsoforientRaahh Wed 21-Nov-12 21:28:17

The paint is kermit green!!

we3kingsoforientRaahh Wed 21-Nov-12 21:30:06

He used the Portmerionshock

Oodthunkit Wed 21-Nov-12 21:31:36

I found the baby story more frustrating than the normal inaccuracies.

MsNobodyAgain Thu 22-Nov-12 12:37:22

I hope it's a good, happy episode today because I feel a lot better and have finally traded in the stupidly over-priced watch my ex-h bought me.

I got a much nicer (cheap) watch and I still have a credit note to spend on sparkly stuff in the New Year sale. Yay! grin

Oh, just Sky+ info'd it. Kevin has a spot. Should be entertaining and quite possibly high in the WTF stakes.

Sparklingbrook Thu 22-Nov-12 12:43:05

Hi MsN. Ds1 has made it from his bed to the sofa so will be watching with me. Good job he's off school. All the roads are flooded and his school is shutting early to get everybody safely home on the coach.

MsNobodyAgain Thu 22-Nov-12 12:50:37

Hi Sparkling Eeek! to flooded roads.

Glad DS1 has progressed from his bed and hopefully you should be safe with an episode featuring Kevin getting a spot smile

Oodthunkit Thu 22-Nov-12 13:35:54

I'm in today. Should have been at hospital but not well so cancelled for today.

we3kingsoforientRaahh Thu 22-Nov-12 13:48:07

ooh- Kevin dreaming. Is he going to wear his red pants of lurve...

we3kingsoforientRaahh Thu 22-Nov-12 13:49:14

he has a spot??

MsNobodyAgain Thu 22-Nov-12 13:49:48

Hope you are better soon Ood.

If the title is "Out Damned Spot" isn't that Shakespeare? Will we see the red pulling pants of lurve?

The spot is putting me off my lunch

we3kingsoforientRaahh Thu 22-Nov-12 13:51:27

it's Macbeth. Flashbacks to Shakespeare week!

we3kingsoforientRaahh Thu 22-Nov-12 13:52:03

70's sitcom actress alert!

MsNobodyAgain Thu 22-Nov-12 13:52:39

A home visit and 6tl is going to join her at the appointment?! I'm at the wrong doctors.

MsNobodyAgain Thu 22-Nov-12 13:53:24

What sitcom Raahh?

we3kingsoforientRaahh Thu 22-Nov-12 13:54:59

She was in'a fine romance' whichwas 80's reallygrin. And loads of drama inthe 70's.Susan Penhaligon. I always get her mixed up with Angharad Rees (as you dogrin)

MsNobodyAgain Thu 22-Nov-12 13:57:06

"A fine romance, with kisses...". I remember it.

grin at Mrs T being woo with the spot.

Angharad Rees is dead isn't she?

we3kingsoforientRaahh Thu 22-Nov-12 13:59:54

Yes, Angharad died this summer,I think. My mum used tolove Poldark...

2 patients and we are only 15 mins in woohoo!

we3kingsoforientRaahh Thu 22-Nov-12 14:01:31

With all these patients, they are spoiling us...grin

MsNobodyAgain Thu 22-Nov-12 14:02:15

Jizz telling Kevin off for being superficial when she was saying his date would be ordering an early bill because he had a spot confused

Inconsistent.

Is DS1 enjoying it Sparkling? Nothing unsuitable remotely interesting so far......

we3kingsoforientRaahh Thu 22-Nov-12 14:11:15

the son is a terrible actorgrin

we3kingsoforientRaahh Thu 22-Nov-12 14:11:59

'bring a friend' grin

MsNobodyAgain Thu 22-Nov-12 14:14:44

Well that was quite fun.

<admires new watch> ohhh, is that the time? grin. I have another half hour to do nothing. Sweeeeeeet!

'Rrrrendezvous with rrrromance!' Love Mrs T! grin

How does 6tl have time to spend all morning at St Phils and buy coffee etc?

Also. Neck woman's dressing appears to be on the opposite side of the neck to the side the growth was on earlier.

And what surgical hospital nurse has time to paint patients nails?!

For someone who had just come round from (presumably) general anaesthetic she seemed pretty perky.

Sparklingbrook Thu 22-Nov-12 15:54:21

Missed today's. My Mum came round to mop her poorly grandson's brow. hmm

LizzieVereker Thu 22-Nov-12 19:19:19

Kevin's dream sequence was BRILLIANT. I was cooking away as usual, and going by the soundtrack, turned around expecting to see a group of chanting monks on the plastic chairs. I was surprised to see Kevin frolicking with several glamorous hair flicky women in a hazy dream sequence. Quality. I recommend watching with your back to the screen, you get some fabulous surprises.

LizzieVereker Thu 22-Nov-12 19:21:11

DP is suggesting an explanation for the misplaced dressing - perhaps they went in on one side of her neck, and pulled the lump out of the other.

LizzieVereker Thu 22-Nov-12 19:23:35

Me again. Just to say hope Ood and Sparkling Junior are feeling better.

MsNobodyAgain Thu 22-Nov-12 20:02:30

Makes me wonder what your DP works as Lizzie.

I liked todays. I will like it even more when Gobbyplod rids himself of that hairy caterpillar on his top lip.

Signing off now to watch 'Young Apprentice'. Gotta love the enthusiasm of youth.

Oodthunkit Thu 22-Nov-12 20:08:13

Am a lot better thanks. Good job I didn't go to hospital roads were all flooded at the time I'd be coming back

toldmywrath Thu 22-Nov-12 20:08:41

I thought that about the lump on her neck switching sides MsNo but now wonder if we saw it in a mirror at first (who's going to watch it on replay to check please??)
Loved Kev's Freudian slips today.
I remember you saying a while ago about trading in exh watch-or was it another item?

MsNobodyAgain Thu 22-Nov-12 22:28:34

told yes, the watch was the item I mentioned some months ago. Just took me a while to get round to it...too busy watching Doctors!

Kevin was good today, but I am biased as you know.

Ah yes I bet it was in the mirror- she was at the dressing table.
Plenty of WTF today anyway.

Sparklingbrook Fri 23-Nov-12 13:46:42

Afternoon. Watching live having not yet caught up. How will I manage?

Sparklingbrook Fri 23-Nov-12 13:47:00

Is that a snake skin coat Gobby has on?

MsNobodyAgain Fri 23-Nov-12 13:47:36

Gobby - I wouldn't put that coat, scarf and top combo together. My eyes hurt.

Sparklingbrook Fri 23-Nov-12 13:48:32

Beefy's a fisherman? confused

we3kingsoforientRaahh Fri 23-Nov-12 13:48:52

Go Mrs T! She won an award the Midlands soap awards or something. She looks so different out of character- lots younger.

Aww, Gobby. I'm still not convinced by the sudden frost between them- Imean, would anyone really think CWPP is a threat? Gobby is sounding increasingly shrill and Hartley Hare-esque.

Sparklingbrook Fri 23-Nov-12 13:49:08

How's things MsN what's the germ count today? DS1 still off. sad

MsNobodyAgain Fri 23-Nov-12 13:49:17

Surely you know that Sparkling shock

we3kingsoforientRaahh Fri 23-Nov-12 13:49:46

Is this woman related to Kevin? or does she fancy him?grin

MsNobodyAgain Fri 23-Nov-12 13:50:30

X post Sparkling, I meant Gobby is a fisherman.

Germ count, not great. I'm okish but DS2 is waning again, but I've sent him to school anyway. Your poor DS1. Sigh.

we3kingsoforientRaahh Fri 23-Nov-12 13:51:01

They were meant to get a new car months ago, weren't they? around the same time as the 2 part wtf-sofa storygrin

Sparklingbrook Fri 23-Nov-12 13:52:32
MsNobodyAgain Fri 23-Nov-12 13:52:48

"I bet you could handle a bit of thrust" <arf>

we3kingsoforientRaahh Fri 23-Nov-12 13:52:49

Sparklingbrook Fri 23-Nov-12 13:53:17

we3kingsoforientRaahh Fri 23-Nov-12 13:53:51

Sparkling- I lovedPipkins. I showed a clip to ds last week- it hasn't aged wellgrin

we3kingsoforientRaahh Fri 23-Nov-12 13:55:03

Oh dear- best send stalker home.

Sparklingbrook Fri 23-Nov-12 13:55:29

Hartley Hare looks like he's flea ridden doesn't he? I loved Pig.

Sparklingbrook Fri 23-Nov-12 13:55:56

Sensitive bones. confused

Sparklingbrook Fri 23-Nov-12 13:56:35

<arf> at 'Bossy Fairy' Raahh.

MsNobodyAgain Fri 23-Nov-12 13:57:24

Gobbys looking a bit 'Thelma and Louise'. Hope their are no cliffs in Letherbridge...

we3kingsoforientRaahh Fri 23-Nov-12 13:58:13

I loved the monkey - Topov?

Ooh, get Gobby and her Thelma/Louise headwear.

Lots of innuendo this episodegrin

we3kingsoforientRaahh Fri 23-Nov-12 13:58:28

x-postgrin

Sparklingbrook Fri 23-Nov-12 13:59:16

I take it Gobby's back is all mended?

we3kingsoforientRaahh Fri 23-Nov-12 13:59:28

<snort> @ Mrs T's messed up wig.

MsNobodyAgain Fri 23-Nov-12 13:59:36

grin grin at Mrs T wig adjustment. Classic!

we3kingsoforientRaahh Fri 23-Nov-12 14:00:11

It was never broken- it was all just a ploy to inflict Stalker on usangry

MsNobodyAgain Fri 23-Nov-12 14:00:13

Great minds Raahh smile

Sparklingbrook Fri 23-Nov-12 14:00:40

Are they on a trailer? The car is very high up.

we3kingsoforientRaahh Fri 23-Nov-12 14:01:09

Spillages can kill!

Sparklingbrook Fri 23-Nov-12 14:01:11

'Spillages can kill'

Sparklingbrook Fri 23-Nov-12 14:01:33

I'll keep her on a leash. shock

we3kingsoforientRaahh Fri 23-Nov-12 14:02:55

Punctuation, Stalker.

we3kingsoforientRaahh Fri 23-Nov-12 14:03:45

Gobbyplod is looking a bit YMCA.

Sparklingbrook Fri 23-Nov-12 14:04:25

Middle aged penis extensions R Us? confused

we3kingsoforientRaahh Fri 23-Nov-12 14:04:26

'boss'

oh dear,dear me.

MsNobodyAgain Fri 23-Nov-12 14:05:07

Oh dear, using the word penis and then he calls his wife 'boss', not good GobbyPlod.

we3kingsoforientRaahh Fri 23-Nov-12 14:05:36

Rrrrrreallly.

I love Mrs T.

Is Gobby packing?

we3kingsoforientRaahh Fri 23-Nov-12 14:06:29

awwww<sniff>

Sparklingbrook Fri 23-Nov-12 14:06:29

Awwww. Beefy is confused.

Icelollycraving Fri 23-Nov-12 14:06:53

I love Mrs Tembe more every day grin
Haven't been on the thread lately, been watching late night. It's even better with a big old glass of wine. I feel I know too much about doctors,I noticed the curtains in Andre the child traffickers kitchen have been in several other episodes.

Sparklingbrook Fri 23-Nov-12 14:08:20

He's still got the hat on. grin

we3kingsoforientRaahh Fri 23-Nov-12 14:08:39

Oh dear.

we3kingsoforientRaahh Fri 23-Nov-12 14:09:04

At least it wasn't the Full Monty...

we3kingsoforientRaahh Fri 23-Nov-12 14:09:39

Bingo! It's his sister!

we3kingsoforientRaahh Fri 23-Nov-12 14:10:15

we3kingsoforientRaahh Fri 23-Nov-12 14:10:35

Sparklingbrook Fri 23-Nov-12 14:10:43

we3kingsoforientRaahh Fri 23-Nov-12 14:11:07

ohhhhhh- pmsl@ mermaid.

MsNobodyAgain Fri 23-Nov-12 14:12:26

Phone rang. Damn, who is she meant to be, Kevins sister?

we3kingsoforientRaahh Fri 23-Nov-12 14:12:39

sad

Kevin has family ishoos

Sparklingbrook Fri 23-Nov-12 14:12:40

Oh no. CWPP is back in it next week.

we3kingsoforientRaahh Fri 23-Nov-12 14:13:34

yup, his sister. We will finally get to the bottom of the Asian doctor called 'Kevin' conundrumgrin

Sparklingbrook Fri 23-Nov-12 14:14:20

perhaps the sister's name is Sharon or Tracey?

we3kingsoforientRaahh Fri 23-Nov-12 14:16:10

yy, she looked like a Sharongrin

MsNobodyAgain Fri 23-Nov-12 14:16:10

Yep, he won't like that. He gets outraged if someone offers him spicy food!

In my haste to get off the phone, I've agreed to a meeting with a social worker the day after a big family party that is taking place at my house. Probably not a good idea.

we3kingsoforientRaahh Fri 23-Nov-12 14:17:20

<as an aside, I really like the name Sharonblush.Good, biblical name. It's a shame it's now a comedy classic>

we3kingsoforientRaahh Fri 23-Nov-12 14:18:17

Save themsome cake, MrsN or booze

MsNobodyAgain Fri 23-Nov-12 14:21:42

It'll have to be cake, SW is coming at 10am the morning after. I'll have to shift the empties and polish the floor. Botheration.

Sparklingbrook Fri 23-Nov-12 14:22:50

Ooh what's the family party MsN?

MsNobodyAgain Fri 23-Nov-12 14:27:46

My boys will be 8 grin, so we have a kiddies party and then my family stay for drinks after. I'm from a large family so the house will be full of fun. Can't wait. smile

Sparklingbrook Fri 23-Nov-12 14:31:41

That sounds fab MsN. grin Just invite the SW to the party and have done with it.

Just checking in, watched it a bit late. That was quite entertaining. Maybe Kevin is adopted, I've got a friend who is Asian in appearance but was adopted by a white family and has a Kevin Tyler type name and no interest in his birth heritage. He's a GP too <ponders>.

Save the SW some birthday cake MsN, that'll keep her happy.

toldmywrath Fri 23-Nov-12 15:13:03

Who knows WhoKnows -you may have worked out the Kev plotline to a tee. smile
Topov the monkey he's always funky(?) in the Pipkin puppet van. Although I remember we sang different words than these.(Ruder ones iykwim)

Horsemad Fri 23-Nov-12 15:37:25

They mentioned the word penis in Doctors?? Stunned shock

I know, I was shocked, especially as I had the subtitles on.

BiscuitNibbler Fri 23-Nov-12 20:10:07

Ok, I've started the mammoth catch-up. I'm on episode 2 of 13.

I will be rocking back-and-forth, staring into space, and muttering "Doc-tah Cah-tah" by the end.

BiscuitNibbler Fri 23-Nov-12 20:11:26

Also, the guy who plays Kevin is called Simon in real life. I don't think a "western" name is that unusual in British-Asian families.

we3kingsoforientRaahh Fri 23-Nov-12 20:38:29

Biscuit- I think it is just the choice of 'Kevin' that has always seemed a bit odd. He seems too young to be a Kevin(there were loads when I was a kid).grin

And the Doctor he replaced was called Simon...spooky!grin

we3kingsoforientRaahh Fri 23-Nov-12 20:39:11

also

'episode 2 of 13' shock
grin

I don't know any Kevins under the age of about 40. I am starting to realise that although I have been watching daily now for about 6 weeks I still don't know half the character's names, only their MN nicknames.

BiscuitNibbler Fri 23-Nov-12 21:02:05

That is spooky, Raah. Yes, Kevins should be in their 40s, but so should Simons. I know tonnes of them, too.

Just started episode 4 of 13. There is a man in bed with a plastic girlfriend. WTF-ness abounds.

we3kingsoforientRaahh Fri 23-Nov-12 21:50:23

Ahhh, the blow-up doll in the bath...wtf-ness at it's very best and slightly icky

BiscuitNibbler Fri 23-Nov-12 23:37:06

Just had to spend an hour and a half settling DD who has jet lag and got used to sharing a room with us during our holiday. Nightmare.

Ooh, the one I just watched (adoption bloke visiting Gobbyplod & CWPP) was directed by the bloke who played Ronnie Woodson. I loved him and George. They had proper storylines.

BiscuitNibbler Sat 24-Nov-12 01:34:17

Eight down, five to go. I look like this confused. There is a hell of a lot of WTF-ness about.

Will watch one more then go to bed. I want to catch up before Monday so they don't pile up again.

BiscuitNibbler Sat 24-Nov-12 02:00:35

Ok, one more and then that's definitely it. Can't believe I will have watched ten in a row by the end of this episode. I will end up in St Phil's with brain rot.

BiscuitNibbler Sat 24-Nov-12 02:01:46

Jimmi is more annoying than usual, lately.

BiscuitNibbler Sat 24-Nov-12 02:51:32

Ooh! Car chase! It is like the Sweeney! (Without the realism)

Yes, I accidentally watched another episode. That's 11. I must be insane.

MsNobodyAgain Sat 24-Nov-12 06:25:36

Welcome back biscuit.

That is some SDTP dedication you have shown there grin

You get a dodgy MN mug for watching 5 in a row so you have earned 2!!

brew brew

toldmywrath Sat 24-Nov-12 14:33:09

I second what MsNo has said Biscuit True dedication to the cause, congrats on your feat of endurance!

BiscuitNibbler Sat 24-Nov-12 17:30:48

I have just watched the final two, to bring me up to date. Not enough of TBFE for my liking, he needs more prominent storylines. Preferably in casual gear. At the gym, or swimming pool, perhaps?

Sparklingbrook Sat 24-Nov-12 17:33:52

Ladies and Gentleman may I have your attention. I Sparklingbrook present this to BiscuitNibbler for services to the daytime soap called Doctors. Round of applause please.

Speech!!

we3kingsoforientRaahh Sat 24-Nov-12 18:17:01

<claps politely>
<not bitter at not winning owt for watching ^every sodding day^>
<insincere smiley>
grin

we3kingsoforientRaahh Sat 24-Nov-12 18:18:52

There was a fab TBFE pic on my facebook, of him wearing a plastic rain hat,to cover his quiffgrin

A suppose he had to be absent, so we could have the oh so necessary decorating storylinehmm

Sparklingbrook Sat 24-Nov-12 18:19:28

Raahh we need a few more categories of prizes don't we? grin I would love to win 'Best understanding of the Daytime soap Doctors'. Not going to happen any time soon.

MsNobodyAgain Sat 24-Nov-12 18:34:47

I give biscuit 2 virtual druggy MN mugs and sparkling outdoes me with a trophy!

I am like Raahh , I watch nearly every day but live, LIVE ... 'tis proper dedication that is (doesn't apply to bingo days obviously) grin

We should have SDTP Christmas awards.

we3kingsoforientRaahh Sat 24-Nov-12 18:39:58

Ooh,the SDTP Christmas awards. To cover that fortnight when it won't on<sob>

Christmas schedules, bah humbug!grin

MsNobodyAgain Sat 24-Nov-12 19:31:37

<thinks about potential categories and winners>

It's a minefield and could end up in a Dallas style bitch fight. grin

Poor Larry (JR). RIP. X

BiscuitNibbler Sat 24-Nov-12 20:37:16

Thank you all very much. I couldn't have done it without the help and support of all my SDTP colleagues.

Having watched since before they blew up the old practice and virtually every day since, I have few brain cells left, but with those that remain I can say I think that you are all wonderful.

I shall keep this trophy in pride of place on my computer. I love you all. <blubs>

BiscuitNibbler Sat 24-Nov-12 23:12:40

Meant to say, I am currently wading through 13 episodes of Corrie. Not half as interesting! I can at least use the fast-forward button on Corrie for big chunks without losing the plot. Could never do that with Doctors.

2plus2 Sun 25-Nov-12 14:51:11

Just caught up with this week had to rewind a whole episode to see if I had missed who that women with Kevin was, then came on here to get the answer grin is life too short for trying to understand doctors?

MsNobodyAgain Sun 25-Nov-12 15:14:02

Yes grin

No, sorry, can't agree Biscuit <prepares to be thrown off the thread>, if I had to choose between Corrie and Doctors, Corrie would win hands down.

Sparklingbrook Sun 25-Nov-12 17:14:23

OMG Who. shock

BiscuitNibbler Sun 25-Nov-12 18:39:00

But with Corrie, Who, you can miss episodes, weeks, months, even years and still follow what is happening. Blink in Doctors and it is "WTF??". In Corrie I always fast forward the Lloyd bits, most of Rita, & anything involving Dev and / or Sunita. Life is too short for them.

Have just caught up with Corrie. Nick is looking more and more handsome. Never thought I'd say that.

Now I just have Neighbours and Eastenders to catch up with. Eastenders can be done with a bit of fast-forwarding too. Neighbours I will just leave on in the background whilst doing other things.

toldmywrath Sun 25-Nov-12 18:39:33

Who was it that wondered whether Letherbridge was near Ambridge- whilst listening to the Archers omnibus this morning I started wondering the same.
Don't worry WhoKnows I believe you will NOT be thrown off the thread (hmm unless that was your cunning plan)

MsNobodyAgain Sun 25-Nov-12 18:43:43

Nobody leaves the thread. Right?

<wonders off into the night mist wearing dodgy camel-hair coat a la Ray Winstone>

wink

Sparklingbrook Sun 25-Nov-12 18:45:47

Too right MsN. Rules is rules.

Biscuit - I never miss an episode of Corrie. Ever. However I don't watch EE, Emmerdale, Neighbours, any of the rest of them.

Horsemad Sun 25-Nov-12 19:16:40

I used to watch Corrie, EE, Emmerdale, & Brookie. Always taped them when I went on hols so always had loads to watch when I got home.
Only watch Drs now and that's not every day sad Still - at least this thread keeps me in touch grin

Horsemad Sun 25-Nov-12 19:17:32

Forgot Neighbours - watched that too!

Sparklingbrook Sun 25-Nov-12 19:18:33

Me too Horse. I used to watch Bollyoaks too. blush Just Doctors now.

I used to watch EE, Emmerdale, Brookie as well as Corrie when they were all only on twice a week, but then real life (children) got in the way alongside them all increasing to 5 a week and I just couldn't do it any more. Oh and Neighbours on and off as well. But Corrie is my first love soap wise, been watching since I was about 12.

Horsemad Sun 25-Nov-12 19:24:57

I used to watch the Brookie omnibus on Saturday afternoons - that all stopped when DS1 arrived!

BiscuitNibbler Sun 25-Nov-12 20:55:53

I gave up Eastenders and Corrie for about 5 years but got sucked back in. I found it was as thought I'd never been away, which made me realise how little actually changes in them.

I used to love Emmerdale Farm too. Hence my delight at TBFE turning up in Doctors!

Yes, I was still watching Emmerdale when TBFE was in it. It was the Dingles that switched me off Emmerdale in the end, they just took over far too much and I found them repulsive on the whole. Except Mandy.

MsNobodyAgain Sun 25-Nov-12 21:09:59

I gave up most of the soaps when they went to nightly episodes instead of once or twice a week. I couldn't keep up with them all especially when my boys were born.

I miss Eldorado the most. I was gutted when that was cancelled.

Doctors fits in because it is on when the kids are in school.

we3kingsoforientRaahh Sun 25-Nov-12 22:11:32

I watch Eastenders, when i remember. And Hollyoaksblush

I think the last time I bothered with Emmerdale, it was sponsored by the Daz dog. The dog was cute. I loved Brookside.
I never watch Corrie. Gives us Mancunian types a bad rep but not as bad as Shameless (and in my many years in retail, I've served A LOT of up themselves Corrie ac-torrrrs. And they were mostly rudegrin--looking at you, Anne Kirkbride--)

Eldorado was so bad, it was GENIUS.

Anyone here today? Missed the first couple of minutes, Kevin's sister is back.

OMG, Val in stalker drama, only it's her being stalked.

OOh <excited>
The stalker has a stalker!!
But am sure he's been in Doctors before...that could never happen surely.....

<creepy man>
'I'm not a weirdo'. Arf.

Ohh, he's just using her to meet his sales target.

Oh no, she's going to start talking about her pussy.
This is all going to end in tears.

Oh the passion! Hestembe rrrrrrrromance might not be a thing so outside the realms of possibility!!
PMSL at Heston trying to rip up laminated sign.

Sparklingbrook Mon 26-Nov-12 15:36:46

Hi all, just watching today's. Yawn.

Sparklingbrook Mon 26-Nov-12 15:37:31

Oh FGS it's CWPP again and the adoption storyline. hmm

we3kingsoforientRaahh Mon 26-Nov-12 16:08:13

I missed today, due to yet another migraine. I might have to visit a REAL doctorshock

Will catch up later.

I'm worried CWPP might decide to have a baby not with Gobbyplod. This bothers me, as she is about as maternal as a sprouthmm

MsNobodyAgain Mon 26-Nov-12 16:26:02

Missed it, due to having my hair transformed back to fabulousness. DD says I look younger hmm

MsNobodyAgain Mon 26-Nov-12 18:39:58

Just watched. Glad to see the back of Val.

Highlight for me was hearing an obscure song I know being played in the Icon. It is by Camper Van Beethoven, 'Good Guys and Bad Guys'. I am surprised I recognised it seeing as it must be 20 odd years since I played the album. Happy days.

LizzieVereker Mon 26-Nov-12 22:46:32

(rushes in, out of puff) hope I'm not too late to congratulate biscuit on the trophy - excellent work.

Also, I feel I should confess that I only watch Doctors, soap wise. (proud).

we3kingsoforientRaahh Tue 27-Nov-12 09:32:58

just catching up.

Was the Steve Mangan lookalike really called Craigg Smelling?

Very glad to see the back of Val.

we3kingsoforientRaahh Tue 27-Nov-12 09:35:55

The sister is not going the right way to get in Kev's good books.

But I'd stalk him, given the chancegrin

I felt sorry for the stalker guy, really- I worked in a call centre cold selling loans. Evil job. I walked out after a miserable 3 months.

MsNobodyAgain Tue 27-Nov-12 09:40:52

<Ahem>

I think you'll find that Kev is spoken for Raahh. Hands off luv.

grin

You can have Heston.

we3kingsoforientRaahh Tue 27-Nov-12 09:45:52

awww, i have a soft spot for heston, but I'll let mrs T have himgrin

Everytime stalker man says 'Valerie' i hear the Stevie Winwood song in my head. Not the Zutons/winehouse one.

'Call on meeeeeeee, Va-er-ie'

we3kingsoforientRaahh Tue 27-Nov-12 09:46:50

there should be an 'l' in there somewhere.
