Embarrassing to admit but am quite enjoying this. Am laughing a lot. And the young Irish fella is hot.

Anyone else or shall I go and kill self?

DoodleAlley Sat 10-Nov-12 20:02:11

No me too.

Embarrassingly so. It's like a teen romance drama and I luff it!

BieneMaja Sat 10-Nov-12 21:11:20

Me three ! Loved the bit where Tom and Yason were getting trashed together smile

junkcollector Sun 11-Nov-12 00:32:44

God (secretly) me too. I find myself looking at the bits with Robert Sheehan on Iplayer. Him and Sarah Alexander have a lot of chemistry! blush

BackforGood Sun 11-Nov-12 00:35:46

There was a thread on here a week or two back with people slagging it off - but I like it too. Nothing you have to think about, just easy watching.... typical 'sitcom' fodder. Suits my brain power by the time I come to sit down at night.

InSPsFanjoNoOneHearsYouScream Sun 11-Nov-12 00:39:15

I only watch it for Robert. He is gorgeous and sounds gorgeous. I don't see any other characters, just hear bob the builder now and again grin

The minute Robert came out of the bathroom in a towel I fell in lust

nochipsthanks Sun 11-Nov-12 12:38:41

God, we HATED it when it first started. Then Dh and I were catatonic last time it was on and could not be arsed to find the remote. And found ourselves engaged....

I had the same thing with 'outnumbered'. thought it was shite initially- then got dragged in.

Like it now... blush

nochipsthanks Sun 11-Nov-12 12:39:30

although FFS- how does the mum manage to looks so good with children the age of hers?

[not fair. stamps feet]

BackforGood Sun 11-Nov-12 13:01:59

dd1 (14) watched it with me this week, and, part way through suddenly said "He sounds like Bob the Builder" grin.

AitchTwoOhOneTwo Sun 11-Nov-12 13:05:32

oh my GOD i think it's awful in so many ways but i CANNOT take my eyes off Robert Sheehan. He's absolutely magnetic.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud Sun 11-Nov-12 13:08:09

I was on the other thread. I was a bit ambivalent after the first episode, but we've been enjoying it since. Tom and Yason getting trashed was indeed very funny.

DD (in her pre-teenager way) likes Alfie because he is Young Leonardo on CBBC. I rather like Nathaniel Parker.

Fairylea Sun 11-Nov-12 13:11:00

Totally agree with everyone here smile

I will be so sad when it's over !!! sad

RedZombie Sun 11-Nov-12 13:12:30

Its easy to watch on a Friday night, bit like Miranda and Not Going Out
The son is a bit annoying because he camps it up too much and I can't watch Neil Morrissey without thinking of Bob.
Robert Sheehan is very lovely.

AitchTwoOhOneTwo Sun 11-Nov-12 13:18:55

btw i have seen last ep. <zips mouth>

snozzlemaid Sun 11-Nov-12 13:26:20

Love it too. Purely for Robert Sheehan though. He is delicious. Glad to hear i'm not the only one who has watched the bits with him on iplayer again. So glad they had a good snog in this week's episode!
I sooo would!

JoshLyman Sun 11-Nov-12 14:31:40

aitch How? Why? I'll give you one million pounds to tell me what happens.

At least tell us there's some kind of resolution and it's not all left hanging.....

AitchTwoOhOneTwo Sun 11-Nov-12 14:43:55

i wish i could. really i do.

InSPsFanjoNoOneHearsYouScream Sun 11-Nov-12 14:45:33

AITCH please tell ne you are Roberts relative and you are going to send him my number, we will fall in love and marry! grin

LineRunner Sun 11-Nov-12 14:45:50

I really, really like it.

trockodile Sun 11-Nov-12 15:01:35

Love Robert Sheehan-it is a totally different character than he played in Misfits, but he is amazingly believable as both.
I also really like the son, Alfie. I think he is doing a good job-and has to be very different to Billy I think (immature/womanising etc) to show just why the mum can fall in love with her son's friend. And Jonny Bailey is adorable!
Just can't work out why the other men are so irritating though!

wintera Sun 11-Nov-12 15:02:13

Thought the first ep was shocking! Total waste of good comic actors but then guess what? Watched the second one anyway and liked it, and have enjoyed it since really. Actually look forward to watching it. I do think the joke about the Mum character being a mess and a bit of a state doesn't make much sense when she looks like Sarah Alexander though. She's bloody gorgeous ffs!

Fairylea Sun 11-Nov-12 15:08:34

I love Inca (inga?!) ... she's really funny smile

ShipwreckedAndComatose Sun 11-Nov-12 22:03:23

Yes, it's really growing on me too!! The drunk meal was so funny and the snog in the bathroom, well, I so would too!! grin

Blondeshavemorefun Mon 12-Nov-12 12:58:50

i love it, and said in another thread it was a funny comedy and easy watching

LineRunner Mon 12-Nov-12 18:04:24

Inca is tremendous. smile

ByTheWay1 Mon 12-Nov-12 18:11:09

I like it - and either there is really good chemistry between them or they are good actors!! nice easy going brit-com...

JC777 Thu 22-Nov-12 20:05:41

Message withdrawn at poster's request.

LineRunner Thu 22-Nov-12 20:07:11

The last one hasn't happened yet because of CiN, right? Looking forward to tomorrow.

I very much am liking Inca.

MidnightKnitter Thu 22-Nov-12 20:16:19

So glad i'm not alone, it's my new guilty pleasure. I missed the first couple but watched on iplayer and am hooked. Don't know where a second series would take it but i'd definitely watch.

LineRunner Thu 22-Nov-12 20:44:28

Everyone in it has a story. It's just great.

Even Poppy is weirdly interesting.

Blondeshavemorefun Fri 23-Nov-12 11:57:27

I thought it finished the other well - the one with the meal and throwing up?

LineRunner Fri 23-Nov-12 16:05:54

The last one's on tonight.

What does Gemma do for a living?

HazelnutinCaramel Fri 23-Nov-12 20:17:48

I don't think it's ever been mentioned what she does.

Am looking forward to tonight but have a feeling it's going to end on a cliffhanger and leave us all unsatisfied.

snozzlemaid Sat 24-Nov-12 10:16:27

What a frustrating episode! No kiss and no answer. And what's wrong with the woman - she had Robert Sheehan in her bed and did nothing about it. Aargh!

LineRunner Sat 24-Nov-12 10:28:02

I think they filmed that ending when they realised they might be commissioned to make a 2nd series.

HazelnutinCaramel Sat 24-Nov-12 13:34:58

Well, I was right!

I don't really know why we're supposed to believe it's such a difficult choice between the two men when Tom has been presented as a kindly buffoon who still loves his ex and Billy as a sensitive and caring sexgod. It's no competition really, is it.

wintera Sat 24-Nov-12 20:44:33

Great last ep I thought. Aww I think Tom is lovely fella as well though, even though he's a bit wet of course! His daughter Poppy is great too! Really good little actress there. Billy is just so lush!

AitchTwoOhOneTwo Sat 24-Nov-12 22:11:01

i thought the episode felt like they'd written the final scene on the back of an envelope? head, heart, heart, head? seriously... fuck off. total cock-tease of a show.

of course i will be watchign series 2. grin

LineRunner Sat 24-Nov-12 22:47:33

I just watched it again on i player and loved the introduction of Selina.

mumdebump Mon 26-Nov-12 19:50:30

So do you think the start of series 2 will be her driving through the lights just as they've turned red & having a car crash so she doesn't get to the date with either Tom or Billy?

LineRunner Tue 27-Nov-12 14:40:17

Do luxury yurts really exist?

AlfieandAnnieRose Tue 27-Nov-12 18:14:54

I've just realised who Gemma's best friend Fran is - Kelle Bryan from Eternal! I thought it was June Sarpong all along.

LineRunner Tue 27-Nov-12 18:17:55

Do linky. Pleeeease. I know nothing.

Caerlaverock Tue 27-Nov-12 18:18:41

It is shit

LineRunner Tue 27-Nov-12 18:28:18

I know, but it has that weird air of 'To The Manor Born' about it, where you find yourself watching against your will ...

MissCellania Tue 27-Nov-12 18:33:30

Luxury yurts really do exist. In a field in Westmeath of all places.

Caerlaverock Tue 27-Nov-12 18:34:24

Pull out linerunner

LineRunner Tue 27-Nov-12 19:51:50

I'll try.

I do feel slightly ashamed.

Caerlaverock Tue 27-Nov-12 20:02:03

Only slightly?

LineRunner Tue 27-Nov-12 20:05:12

I've done worse.

LineRunner Tue 27-Nov-12 20:06:10

A Very Peculiar Practice, for example.

trockodile Tue 27-Nov-12 20:07:02

I'm now getting all defensive and thinking that she doesn't deserve Billy! His sweet little face as he waited on his roof with his scotch eggs-aww! He is the most mature of them all!
If there is a new series Sarah had better redeem herself and quickly!

Caerlaverock Tue 27-Nov-12 20:08:21

God I loved him in all creatures great and small

Caerlaverock Tue 27-Nov-12 20:08:56

Am going to you tube v. Peculiar practice, never heard of it

Caerlaverock Tue 27-Nov-12 20:09:41

Hilarious titles

LineRunner Tue 27-Nov-12 20:16:08

It is very old.

VicarInaTutu Tue 27-Nov-12 20:16:35

i seriously took the piss out of DH for taping this....but i watched and i scoffed and then DH said "well i can watch it without you if you dont like it".....

and i realised i am a bit hooked even though 'Yasen' is a frigging idiot and i have no idea why she tolerates him! and her son is equally stupid....

i like Inca.
i lke whas a face, the main character....(she is very attractive isnt she?)
and i lurve the flaming lush irish boyo, really tho - would it take anyone that long to work out whether they want young hot mature laddo or slightly wet yurt man?

LineRunner Tue 27-Nov-12 20:21:59

Gemma's entire rationale for not shagging the arse off Billy is 'It would upset too many people'.

LineRunner Tue 27-Nov-12 20:22:37

I don't remember these sentiments from Audrey fforbes-Hamilton.

Caerlaverock Tue 27-Nov-12 20:26:18

Audrey f h was a goddess, I adored the love interests mother

Blondeshavemorefun Wed 28-Nov-12 14:29:46

hmmmmmmm, wasnt impressed at ending -obv HAVE to wait and watch sereis 2 now grin

young stud muffin or old wrinkly man with nutter of ex wife

no choice smile

snozzlemaid Mon 10-Dec-12 18:38:16

Just seen on twitter that there's not going to be a second series. Ratings weren't good enough.
So no more Billy Delaney sad

WildWorld2004 Tue 11-Dec-12 14:51:12

They have to make a second series surely or the first series would have been a waste of time. hmm

snozzlemaid Tue 11-Dec-12 20:39:29

Writers are tweeting that BBC won't do a second series. I agree it does feel like a waste - it was building up to something and then it's over.

wintera Tue 11-Dec-12 21:30:20
wintera Tue 11-Dec-12 21:31:52

Years ago tv shows were given the time to grow and get a better audience. Now they just axe them straight away. It's crap really.
