Doctors Addicts Anonymous Continued - TBFE sees a SDTP wearing a waterfall cardigan and thinks 'WTF?'

MsNobodyAgain Sat 22-Sep-12 22:01:56

Welcome one and all to the fan club of the afternoon soap 'Doctors'.

For any newcomers <arf>, explanations as follows:

TBFE: The Bloke From Emmerdale (Ian Kelsey who plays Howard)

SDTP: Saddo Doctors Thread Partakers (which we all think know we are but we love it anyway).

Waterfall cardi: Apparently these are a MN no-no but it's a wardrobe essential to a SDTP.

Gobbyplods: Karen and Rob Hollins, aka 'the only plod in the village'

Beanbags: are now being Freecycled and will be passed on to other lentil weavers.

MildredIsMyAlterEgo Sat 22-Sep-12 22:29:33

Ooh ooh smile

Note to self, procure the following:
1) New waterfall cardi in beige
2) Killer necklace a la Elaine
3) A life grin

Many thanks for the new thread MsNA thanks

Sparklingbrook Sat 22-Sep-12 22:39:20

Fab new thread MrsN. Very new and shiny. grin Thank you.

I have a big pendant and a waterfall cardi at the ready.

BiscuitNibbler Sun 23-Sep-12 06:42:57

Lovely! smile

Was in M&S yesterday and they had a lot of waterfall cardis. I was giving knowing looks to all the forty-somethings browsing them, but no one offered to arrange a home visit, so I don't think any of you lot were there.

Thought you were hitting the town last night, MsN? Did you have fun?

MsNobodyAgain Sun 23-Sep-12 07:42:32

Biscuit it was a wedding vow renewal thingy so I left the house at 10.30am. By 8pm, I was done in. My days of pouring myself in a taxi at daft o'clock are over it seems. smile

Had a great time though.

MsNobodyAgain Sun 23-Sep-12 07:46:14

Nice to see you Sparkling and Mildred smile.

I've just realised it makes me a SUPER SDTP as I created this new thread after being out at a party all day blush

OodHousekeeping Sun 23-Sep-12 09:06:50

I'm here!

Are we all on waiting room chairs now the beanbags have gone? They are very busy after all!

May I join you- have recently been taking to going to bed early with my iPad to watch it on iplayer-sound low in case dh notices and mocks.

Sparklingbrook Sun 23-Sep-12 09:22:38

We must all buy ourselves one of
these and wear it to watch. grin

Hi Mary. smile

MsNobodyAgain Sun 23-Sep-12 09:29:14

Ood smile

Sparkling that waterfall dressing gown is so WTF it should be made compulsory.

Mary All newbies are very welcome! Nice to 'meet' you smile

MsNobodyAgain Sun 23-Sep-12 09:31:37

And yy, we are all now on waiting room chairs. We can make the Campus look busy and Howard will come dashing in to order people about. He could order me about any day of the week actually grin

blondiep14 Sun 23-Sep-12 10:19:28

I'm here.
Glad of the chairs to be honest, it's impossible to haul myself off that bloody beanbag nowadays.

BiscuitNibbler Sun 23-Sep-12 10:24:25

Sparkling! shock That is indecent! It is a tart's dressing gown! What would TBFE think??

Hello Mary - that is the best reason to buy an iPad I've ever heard. I tend to watch it in the evenings too, as DD & DH do not appreciate it for some odd reason.

Glad you had a good time, MsN. But keep your hands off TBFE, he's mine all mine. Otherwise I'll have to tell him you recently compared him to Eddie Munster.

BiscuitNibbler Sun 23-Sep-12 10:25:24

Blondie! Has baby Heston / Howard / Zara / Karen arrived yet??

OodHousekeeping Sun 23-Sep-12 10:56:54

Welcome to the mad house mary

Major WTF confused at the dressing gown sparkling, buying that is real commitment to the WTF cause.

blondiep14 Sun 23-Sep-12 11:05:56

No biscuit, it bloody well hasn't!
40+5 today sad

Sparklingbrook Sun 23-Sep-12 11:06:48

OMG Blondie. get on with it Baby blondie. angry

BiscuitNibbler Sun 23-Sep-12 11:24:51

I feel your pain (had to evict DD at 40+14 with CS). sad

But I see you aren't dismissing my name suggestions out of hand, so there is still hope of a Doctors baby name!

MsNobodyAgain Sun 23-Sep-12 11:33:26

Poor blondiep. I'm with Biscuit, we need Heston reviving as a baby name (if it's a boy of course).

blondiep14 Sun 23-Sep-12 11:36:17

I have a strange (hormonal?) fondness for the name Heston, and Zara is on our girl's list grin.

I don't care what we name it at the moment! I honestly feel like I'm going to be pregnant forever.

I won't be. Will I??!

BiscuitNibbler Sun 23-Sep-12 11:45:16

Heston is a lovely name. Cuddly and lovely as well as being strong and dependable. Definitely due a revival.

I really like Zara, too.

BabyBlondie is going to be a SDTP from birth! grin

MsNobodyAgain Sun 23-Sep-12 11:47:40

Bless ya, of course you won't. A SDTP needs to give birth in the next week and as far as I know, you're the only one that is pregnant (unless someone has got something they need to tell us??) hmm

OodHousekeeping Sun 23-Sep-12 13:29:08

I'm pregnant but only 14 weeks so a way to go yet!

I'll let blondie have the Doctors names though!

Sparklingbrook Sun 23-Sep-12 13:32:31

OOh are you Ood? Congratulations. x

MsNobodyAgain Sun 23-Sep-12 13:35:38

Congratulations Ood. Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! I love a baby I do. x

OodHousekeeping Sun 23-Sep-12 13:38:40

Me too but this is my last one sad

Sparklingbrook Sun 23-Sep-12 13:39:14

My last one is 10. envy

OodHousekeeping Sun 23-Sep-12 16:59:15

I had a 9 year gap between 2 and 3....

Sparklingbrook Sun 23-Sep-12 17:11:43

grin Ood. I think I am done and DH even more so.

OodHousekeeping Sun 23-Sep-12 17:52:41

I got myself a new dh grin

Sparklingbrook Sun 23-Sep-12 18:09:07

Drat. I really love my DH, so no chance of that. grin

OodHousekeeping Sun 23-Sep-12 18:26:32

Never mind. I didn't like mine so was worth getting rid!

madhairday Sun 23-Sep-12 19:29:14

oooh lovely new thread, thanks MsN!

arf at the waterfall cardis, I freely admit to owning one and loving it. It's black though, not beige, so do I still count as an SDTP?

I'm poorly so had a day catching up on the wonderful offerings of this week and the Red Button 'extras'. Jolly good. Do I take it we get to keep the lovely Immy for the time being then?

RaahhisOrangeandGold Sun 23-Sep-12 19:31:48

'ello 'ello
<channels Gobby plod>

<chucks flea-ridden beanbag into skip>

<wriggles on plastic chair>

<sits cross legged on floor>

I will miss the beanbags...

ooooooh babies envy

dd2 is 2 on Saturday<sob>sad

MsNobodyAgain Sun 23-Sep-12 19:52:26

Yeah! madhairday and & Raahh, ta for joining the thread.

I think Immie is written out quite soon, and there are no colour restrictions on waterfall cardis. You simply have to be able to swish, lol.

I will miss the beanbags too.

madhairday Mon 24-Sep-12 12:01:03

Oh phew.

<swishes happily>

Thank goodness for Immy being written out, could not cope much longer...with all this talk of beanbags leaving do I take it Elaine is going too? <not up with it, obv> grin

wednesdaygirl Mon 24-Sep-12 12:23:59

Big bean bag sale on at the mill (or maybe Mrs T will have a beanbag bonfire) Elaine is leaving this wk

BiscuitNibbler Mon 24-Sep-12 13:09:22

My local surgery has lost one GP they are struggling to replace. Their reaction? They have closed the list and intend to keep it closed for a minimum of six months.

The Mill has lost Zara, Freya (who?), Elaine is going and Daniel is worse than useless at the moment. Have they closed the list? Given more hours to the desperate part-timer? Worried about how they can continue to run not one but two surgeries? Thought about limiting the numerous pointless home visits? No. They don't even seem mildly concerned.

They must be the most efficient group of GPs in the UK. If they shared their secret with other NHS trusts they could solve the funding crisis overnight.

I can't wear my waterfall cardie atm. The dangly bits end up taking in unmentionable substances produced by both cats and baby.

I stood on a bee at the weekend. My foot has swollen up and is itchy-sore. What are my chances of a home visit?

*trailing in

BiscuitNibbler Mon 24-Sep-12 13:40:20

Do you live in Leatherbridge, Makes?

If so you are guaranteed a home visit. However, we cannot guarantee a doctor, you may get a nurse. Unfortunately our nurses may not be able to give you 100% of their attention, as one is recently bereaved and the other is worried her husband may discover she has shagged his best friend.

Alternatively we have recently been trialling sending our receptionists and even our Practice Manager. Do you think this could be of use to you?

Unfortunately, if you live in any other area of the UK you will just have to take a paracetemol and hope it gets better, or we can offer you an appointment in 6-8 weeks.

Sparklingbrook Mon 24-Sep-12 13:42:18

Failing that Biscuit, Makes could ring Mr Gobbyplod to come and look at it....

Sparklingbrook Mon 24-Sep-12 13:42:54

Is there Red Button again this week?

madhairday Mon 24-Sep-12 13:44:01

grin Biscuit they could always send GobbyPlod instead

madhairday Mon 24-Sep-12 13:45:06

Does this stupid thing start at 1.40 or 1.45? It seems to be different each day, today it seemed to be 1.43 hmm

anyway, getting distracted

Sparklingbrook Mon 24-Sep-12 13:46:40

Kingsley is such an arse, I wonder if the actor is too...

madhairday Mon 24-Sep-12 13:47:20

he is a tosser of the highest order, isn't he? When is Immy going to realise ??

MsNobodyAgain Mon 24-Sep-12 13:49:17

Awwwwwwwww, I'm late. Just off to read posts...

Sparklingbrook Mon 24-Sep-12 13:49:58

No waterfall cardi today. shock

MsNobodyAgain Mon 24-Sep-12 13:50:27

I thought Elaine was re-enacting 'When Harry Met Sally' then hmm

Sparklingbrook Mon 24-Sep-12 13:50:34

Bloody hell, I though Jack had left. angry

MsNobodyAgain Mon 24-Sep-12 13:52:31

Ouch makes hope you are ok.

As for the start time madhair, it's completely random. A bit like the storylines.

Sparklingbrook Mon 24-Sep-12 13:55:45

Is Gobby drunk?

Sparklingbrook Mon 24-Sep-12 13:57:11

Will someone explain the WTF storyline to me?

Sparklingbrook Mon 24-Sep-12 13:58:21

madhairday Mon 24-Sep-12 13:58:43

Ah, finally she'll see the light now? grin

MsNobodyAgain Mon 24-Sep-12 13:59:00

"You can stay and watch" shock

madhairday Mon 24-Sep-12 13:59:08

'immy sandwich' grin

Sparklingbrook Mon 24-Sep-12 14:01:50

OOh beefy in bed with no top on. grin

BiscuitNibbler Mon 24-Sep-12 14:02:07

Ok, just watching on i-Player, so about 10 minutes behind, I think.

Sparklingbrook Mon 24-Sep-12 14:02:20

What's going on with Cherry's home visit?

BiscuitNibbler Mon 24-Sep-12 14:03:24

Hypocritical Cherry strikes again.

Sparklingbrook Mon 24-Sep-12 14:04:10

Yay. Immie's going!!!!!

MsNobodyAgain Mon 24-Sep-12 14:05:28

Sparkling, you CANNOT call Gobby thin lips 'Beefy'. It makes me shudder.

Sparklingbrook Mon 24-Sep-12 14:06:51

Do you think Immie should go via the STD clinic?

MsNobodyAgain Mon 24-Sep-12 14:07:42

lol. yes!

MildredIsMyAlterEgo Mon 24-Sep-12 14:08:19

DS just pointed at GobbyPlod and said ''dada'' shock

(tbf he hasn't seen his dad (except on skype) for 5 weeks as he's working away, but even so shock )

Sparklingbrook Mon 24-Sep-12 14:09:38

But lola called him the beefy copper who takes no crap MsNobody

BeeGees? confused

BiscuitNibbler Mon 24-Sep-12 14:09:59

Haha! Love that Kingsley was in bed with a man and not one of the other women!

Sparklingbrook Mon 24-Sep-12 14:10:29

No red button? sad

madhairday Mon 24-Sep-12 14:11:34

Thought Cherry was going to tell all then...

MsNobodyAgain Mon 24-Sep-12 14:13:27

Mildred shock indeed. Very funny though.

Sparkling he isn't beefy, even if lola thinks so (no offence lola). Even Ian 'Beefy* Botham isn't beefy and I luuuffffffffffs him. And the Bee Gees are / were ace. Aren't 2 of them dead now? sad

BiscuitNibbler Mon 24-Sep-12 14:17:35

What was the older woman in? She looks very familiar.

MsNobodyAgain Mon 24-Sep-12 14:25:01

I didn't recognise her but I am notoriously bad at that kind of stuff.

RaahhisOrangeandGold Mon 24-Sep-12 14:39:42

Just getting chance to watch this. Don't have to pick the dcs up from school until 5pm.grin

it is very, very wet here.
Ooh, yucky, Kingsley is horrid.

RaahhisOrangeandGold Mon 24-Sep-12 14:42:25

So jack is still in it??

Oh ffs. What was the big goodbye on Friday for?angry

Sparklingbrook Mon 24-Sep-12 14:42:44

I expect the actor that played Kingsley will get snapped up by a big soap after showcasing his wealth of acting skills on Doctors. <arf>

RaahhisOrangeandGold Mon 24-Sep-12 14:55:41

Well, today's was really quite wtf.

and I feel something is missing without the red buttonsad

at least Immie is buggering off- and saw Kingsley for the sleaze he isgrin

RaahhisOrangeandGold Mon 24-Sep-12 14:56:58

although, I do wonder if the picture Immie defaced will end up as the masterpiece of his collection!

RaahhisOrangeandGold Mon 24-Sep-12 15:02:35

and I googled the Martha woman- and lo! she's bloody been in 2 episodes of Doctors before!grin

as well as Corrie, and a series called Medics, amongst other things.

blondiep14 Mon 24-Sep-12 15:09:46

Just watching now.

So glad we won't have to watch Kingsley anymore - he is gross!

That house is going to feel huge without the mini-plods and their disasters.

Still no baby - I'll have time to knit it a waterfall cardi and a bowtie at this rate - well, if I could knit!

RaahhisOrangeandGold Mon 24-Sep-12 15:10:53

I felt a little bit sorry for Gobby. But it can't take long to get to London from Birmingham (geography not my strong point) I've decided I am home schooling dd2 and she is not leaving home ever. I have BLS- besotted last-born syndromegrin

Actually- the whole car thing bought back memories- my parents took me on my first day at university, together, even though I knew they were separating (they didn't tell me, but I knew. My mum moved out that weekend). It was a very long, awkward journey to mid Wales from Manchester- in a clapped out Polo that didn't have a radio grin

(22 years on, all affected parties are very happy, btwgrin).

RaahhisOrangeandGold Mon 24-Sep-12 15:13:41

blondie- poor you! This time 2 years ago, i was entering my final week of being pg with dd2, i couldn't walk, I hadn't slept for weeks, and spent most of the time in tears. 12 hours post c-section, I felt fantastic, and practically skipped to the bathroom!grin

i can't knit either. i blame being left handed, and crap at anything craftygrin

RaahhisOrangeandGold Mon 24-Sep-12 15:14:42

waterfall matinee jackets could be a big thing- you should tell Myleene, she can get them sold in Mothercaregrin

blondiep14 Mon 24-Sep-12 15:51:42

I am a little emotional Raahh, and uncomfortable!
DS1 came at 40+6, DS at 40+2 so was hoping this one would be here by now.
Ah well.

Waterfall matinee jackets, bootiful. I reckon Jools could come up with something there!

BiscuitNibbler Mon 24-Sep-12 16:03:20

Raah - I knew I recognised her. Have they used every actor in Britain now and are starting again?

goldmywrath Mon 24-Sep-12 19:52:57

Raahh Oh that car journey must've been painful (&memorable for all the wrong reasons) Me & hubby just done 500mile round trip dropping youngest at uni. I'd always thought I'd have to go to uni with him as he's the baby of the family!
First priority was watching today's episode on catch up & I thought of "When Harry met Sally" too msNo
Anyway welcome to the new ladies (&gents if there are any).

MildredIsMyAlterEgo Mon 24-Sep-12 22:26:25

blondie haven't you had that baby yet??
<ducks from flying objects grin >

Joking aside, like Raahh I was heavily pregnant 2 years ago & I can remember all too well the last few weeks. Had DS at 40+13 after a 2-day induction in hospital, oh what fun shock to cheer you up I'll tell you how at 34 weeks I had to ring the hospital in a panic as I had passed a bit of my mucus plug by straining to get out a hard poo blush grin

My ds arrived on his due date, after 4 days of stop start labour, induction, emcs etc etc. can't believe 8mo months have gone already. Still not ready to contemplate no.2 yet though. Dots it happen all of a sudden?

Foot still itchy itchy. Thanks for the thoughts, I tried for a home visit and they actually sent me campus security - who knew Barry was so knowledgeable about insect stings?

BiscuitNibbler Tue 25-Sep-12 07:43:19

I'd rather have Barry than Cherry for a home visit, Makes. You lucked out there! wink

MsNobodyAgain Tue 25-Sep-12 07:56:08

Mildred you've put me right off my bran flakes and yoghurt sad

MsNobodyAgain Tue 25-Sep-12 07:58:56

Makes sometimes you know you're ready for number 2 and get numbers 2 & 3 instead. Just sayin' wink

blondiep14 Tue 25-Sep-12 09:05:28

Unsuccessful sweep attempted and induction booked for Sunday. [Sad]

Please send LOTS of labour vibes!

Sparklingbrook Tue 25-Sep-12 09:59:40

sad at unsuccessful sweep blondie. They are painful. It shifted DS2 but not nice.

blondiep14 Tue 25-Sep-12 10:13:00

You're not wrong sparkling! I very nearly passed out afterwards, that and not having eaten and I ended up spectacularly dizzy/sweaty/woozy! Nice.

Desperately hoping it shifts this little bugger, want to avoid the General and stay in the MLU.
Few days til Sunday yet I guess.

Sparklingbrook Tue 25-Sep-12 10:15:36

The midwife actually lifted my bum of the bed with her fingers IYKWIM blondie blush. Like a giant bowling ball.

Had the sweep 7pm and DS2 appeared after a 35 minute labour at 3.30am. shock

Come on baby blondie!

blondiep14 Tue 25-Sep-12 10:26:16

Good lord - that's horrendous!

Thanks for the positive story - just what I need. Will focus on that, go for a walk and stop blubbing!

Sparklingbrook Tue 25-Sep-12 10:27:29

A walk is a great idea, hope something happens soon. x

RaahhisOrangeandGold Tue 25-Sep-12 13:43:27

Mildred- DD1 was an emcs after a failed 2 day inductiongrin it was awful. I felt dreadful, as ds's birth was almost textbook (if such a thing existsgrin). I don't know how I was ever persuaded to have number 3, after that- but I wasn't having her any other way than an elcs!!

Ds was 8 days late, and the night before I decided to have a curry and wander round the Next sale. That shifted him!

Positive vives <<<<>>>> <-- that's a vibe.

Am I odd for feeling I missed out because I have never had my waters break naturally? I wanted the classic soap opera 'gush'grin

Don't like the sound of the Gobby's enjoying time togethergrin

RaahhisOrangeandGold Tue 25-Sep-12 13:48:44

Poor Elaine- a home visit from Mrs T!grin

RaahhisOrangeandGold Tue 25-Sep-12 13:51:57

Mrs T's bed-side manner leaves a bit to be desired.

Does Elaine leave this week? there will be no-one left!sad

RaahhisOrangeandGold Tue 25-Sep-12 14:00:38

TBFE is very handy.

RaahhisOrangeandGold Tue 25-Sep-12 14:02:18

MildredIsMyAlterEgo Tue 25-Sep-12 14:12:35

double eeeeww to post-coital Gobbies in bed envy <-- my sick face

MsNA Ah, sorry about that [oops]

Raahh Sounds like a nightmare, don't blame you for the elcs 3rd time around

MsNobodyAgain Tue 25-Sep-12 14:25:10

Sending <<<<<>>>>>>> vibes to blondie.

I'm settling down to watch todays episode after spending another effing 4 hours at the hospital today. Gah!

MsNobodyAgain Tue 25-Sep-12 14:34:36

Mrs T is a knob sometimes angry

MsNobodyAgain Tue 25-Sep-12 14:40:50

Kevin and TBFE are tying today in the phwaaorrr stakes - as far as I am concerned. smile

MsNobodyAgain Tue 25-Sep-12 14:51:00

I like Mrs Ts casserole dish...

MsNobodyAgain Tue 25-Sep-12 14:57:01

Well, that's it. Elaine's losing it and there is an actress that used to be in Corrie in it tomorrow. I finally recognised someone! or was it Emmerdale ?

She was definitely in 'Rita, Sue and Bob Too' blush

goldmywrath Tue 25-Sep-12 17:15:01

Yer MsNo in Corrie (behind the bar-was it Tina or something?)Eww to Rita Sue & the twice used condom.
Was thinking what the SDTP's would say about that afternoon delight Gobby scene ! I think Raahh summed it up nicely.
Wishing baby Blondie a speedy arrival!

RaahhisOrangeandGold Tue 25-Sep-12 17:58:21

I noticed the casserole dish- not that many people drop off a stew in their best le creuset, it's usually the crappy stained pyrexgrin

BiscuitNibbler Tue 25-Sep-12 21:00:01

That casserole dish - wasn't it Juuuliaaa's? I remember her putting the apple in it to test herself when she had lyme disease.

Agree with you, MsN about Kevin and TBFE today. Kevin is starting to mature nicely.

Mrs T should do more home visits. She'd sort out waiting lists in a few weeks.

Matesnotdates Wed 26-Sep-12 00:03:14

I am new to Doctors...but utterly addicted over the last month or two.

Can someone just explain though - wtf happened with Elaine (is that her name the bland lonely doctor who Mrs T serenaded with harsh words and a casserole) and the bloke what killed himself? And how was the other dishy (ish) doctor involved?

And why is this not on prime time - it is far far better than the other soaps....

Sparklingbrook Wed 26-Sep-12 06:27:19

Hi Mates. I watch every time but I still can't answer your questions. grin

MsNobodyAgain Wed 26-Sep-12 07:15:44

Hi Mates. I'll have a go at a summary for you smile

- The bloke that killed himself was called Harrison. He was a forensic officer
- Elaine and Harrison were dating/shagging
- The dishy(ish) doctor is Kevin hands off, he's mine grin
- There was a temporary receptionist called Lauren who was shagging both Harrison and Kevin
- Harrison killed Lauren. People thought Kevin had done it
- Eventually Harrison was exposed as the killer and got put away awaiting trial
- He killed himself last week so Kevins chuffed as he won't have to give evidence

I hope that helps.

MsNobodyAgain Wed 26-Sep-12 07:19:17

Biscuit you are so right about the casserole dish. I knew it looked familiar. It must be a fake though because le creuset is dead heavy and you'd need the strength of a german shot-putter to haul that round to someones house.

BiscuitNibbler Wed 26-Sep-12 07:57:49

I thought exactly the same, MsN, Elaine was holding it like it was weightless, when even empty they weigh a tonne, let alone full of stew.

Hi Mates, welcome to the weird and wonderful world of Doctors! It can't be on at prime time, as it is too WTF?? You may have already caught rather a lot of episodes where you are scratching your head in wonder, but let me assure you, you have seen nothing yet. Some examples of the truly bizarre - an episode where they were all dressed up like characters from a Bond film, a week where everything was based on Shakespeare, musical episodes... I could go on. grin

Sparklingbrook Wed 26-Sep-12 09:27:58

Mrs Tembe and the jubilee bus is my favourite WTF episode. It was like an episode of Brum. grin

MsNobody you will be kicked off the thread if you continue to display understanding of what's going on. grin

MsNobodyAgain Wed 26-Sep-12 09:41:29

grin Sparkling, It's my evil plan. I'm trying to keep the newbies and swell the numbers of SDTPs. Mwah ha ha ha!

<pats waiting room seat enticingly for Matesnotdates>

My favourite WTF episode was the 'Carry On' style one. Heston sampling Mrs Ts Red Bush shock

::disclaimer - we are all quite normal actually, honest!::

Sparklingbrook Wed 26-Sep-12 10:04:29

grin MsNobody. Um why have the Gobbys still got that house they inherited? Answer that one.

MsNobodyAgain Wed 26-Sep-12 10:16:12

Damn it... you got me! grin. they can christen every room (including the conservatory) now the kids have gone?

Sparklingbrook Wed 26-Sep-12 10:19:37

I think there's a really boring answer. I think the house they filmed in they couldn't use any more so they had to move them. as if we would have noticed. hmm grin

But they missed a trick with not having another family thinking they should inherit it. Plus shouldn't they be loaded after inheriting the house and selling the old one?

MsNobodyAgain Wed 26-Sep-12 10:24:22

Yep. I agree. It's probably the boring answer but they missed an opportunity there.

And at one point the Gobbys were nearly bankrupt and now NOTHING is said about money or selling the old house. Pah! Where's the continuity? Oh, hang on....this is Doctors. There is no continuity. grin

Sparklingbrook Wed 26-Sep-12 13:44:44

Hello all. <swishes brown waterfall cardi>

blondiep14 Wed 26-Sep-12 13:47:48

Wowsers - Elaine's necklace today is amazing!

Sparklingbrook Wed 26-Sep-12 13:49:06

POAS time Cherry.

Oooh it's her out of Rita, Sue and Bob too. grin

Sparklingbrook Wed 26-Sep-12 13:50:10

Blimey Jimmy's going to piss on it himself in a minute.

petitfiloser Wed 26-Sep-12 14:08:37

oh my god tbfe and elaine are nearly on that beanbag!!!!!

RaahhisOrangeandGold Wed 26-Sep-12 15:20:31

Pah! missed today as went shopping. Will look forward to today's going off the thread!

And yes, le Creuset is bloody heavy- i used to work at Jl in customer services, and one of my jobs was to send stuff out to lazy gits in Alderley Edge people who were unable to get to the shop. We never charged postage over £30. Every le Creuset pot we sent out probably cost more in postage than it was worthhmmgrinor even more cost effectively, we would 'put it on a van'. Jl customers do so love to see the green van on their drivewaygrin

(I remember one deranged woman asking us to put a FOOTBALL on a van, because her grandson loved to see the delivery drivers. Nutter. We didn't, and she complainedhmm).

Anyway- will catch up asap, if only to see the nearly beanbag actionshock

RaahhisOrangeandGold Wed 26-Sep-12 15:26:54

Haha at Jimmi tracking Cherry's cycle- that was how i ended up with dd2 (there's an iphone app for EVERYTHINGgrin).

RaahhisOrangeandGold Wed 26-Sep-12 15:29:55

bloody hell- Elaine is wearing a waterfall necklace to go with her cardi!

resists temptation to start singing 'we're having a gang bang' at sight of R,S and b2 actress

RaahhisOrangeandGold Wed 26-Sep-12 15:34:18

Princess Bubblegum is not very sparkly this weekgrin

and surely, if you ended up with a head injury due to an epileptic fit- you would go to a and e, not the gp?

ooh- mrs t and Babs clearly hate each othergrin

RaahhisOrangeandGold Wed 26-Sep-12 15:44:21

Mrs T won't be taking Elaine back to church. She said sexual and babs said all the things she should have said.

Today's wtf storyline is odd.

RaahhisOrangeandGold Wed 26-Sep-12 15:49:23

they arrested a coffin???

and where the all those police come from? Gobbyplod is The Only Plod in The Villageshock

and didn't I predict Jimmi would go ocd over ovulation charts?grin

MsNobodyAgain Wed 26-Sep-12 16:03:13

Why do I miss all the good ones? Sigh sad

MsNobodyAgain Wed 26-Sep-12 18:15:40

Raahh great story about JL and Alderley Edge. I can imagine that happening as I know the area.

Just watching now:
- Elaines necklace, shock
- Cherrys tummy is looking a little rounded to me hmm. Is she up-duffed irl?

MsNobodyAgain Wed 26-Sep-12 18:17:48

That's not a waterfall cardi, it's a waterfall jacket. It's got shoulder pads and a collar and everything.

<faints at new level of waterfallingness fashion>

MsNobodyAgain Wed 26-Sep-12 18:35:05

I must have missed something because I never saw Elaine and TBFE near a beanbag confused

RaahhisOrangeandGold Wed 26-Sep-12 19:26:41

I think there was a hint of flirty-ness between Elaine and TBFE, I'm sure when she leaves he will rue missed opportunitiesgrin

I've been thinking Cherry looks a bit gaunt - maybe she is up-duffed and has had bad morning sickness.hmm

Wonder how Blondie is getting on, baby wise?

goldmywrath Wed 26-Sep-12 19:26:47

Welcome to Mates MsNo is the one to go to for a comprehensive explanation of Doctors' goings on. But we all wonder about the Gobby plods house-they must be loaded!!

After today's episode I think I'm going to rename Elaine Droopy Drawers. I swear to god even her trousers looked depressed

Raah - I was induced and my waters properly went by themselves (eventually). It was like a ballon popping then gallons of water, my bowels went at the same time, then mucus from the plug...I didn't look and dh insisted on cleaning me up. I felt embarrassed at the time but now I'm half proud of him and half 'damn right he should clean it up, I was the one in labour!'

RaahhisOrangeandGold Wed 26-Sep-12 19:57:04

eek, Makes- I know when mine were popped with number 2, I was mortified as I flooded the room. I had polyhydramnios- it was messygrin. I was lying down, and there was really only a dribble with dsgrin

on second thoughts, maybe I'm glad that didn't happen in the middle of m & sgrin

I still live in hope that 'Gobbys lose house' will be the big Christmas storyline- when long lost relative appears and boots them out. They will end up with 'no room at the inn' and Cherry will give birth in the surgery reception.
ignores fact that would be a very short pregnancy

MsNobodyAgain Wed 26-Sep-12 20:00:26

gold I do think Doctors is actually improving my powers of recall after years of being a forgetful SAHM. grin

Raahh and makes my waters never broke with my first. But they went with the 2nd and 3rd. A great big whoosh! All over my bedroom carpet and half on the mattress. Ex-h made me sit on a towel in the car on the way to hospital. I was drenched from the waist down, and the midwife still asked me if I was sure I hadn't pissed myself. lol.

I had to get a new mattress after that. I just couldn't settle on the old one.

goldmywrath Wed 26-Sep-12 20:18:46

MsNo wins the award for most convincing reason for watching Doctors!

BiscuitNibbler Wed 26-Sep-12 20:20:14

Does that make you a patient at the Mill, MsN?

I had my waters broken by a midwife with a crochet-hook-type-contraption. I didn't see how much came out as I was too busy sucking on the gas and air.

I better go and watch today's episode I suppose, if only to see Elaine's latest weapon necklace.

OodHousekeeping Wed 26-Sep-12 20:25:25

Only watched Mondays so far in five minute bursts via iplayer cos my Internet is playing up

Re babies I was pg two years ago too! You lot must have been septembers though cos you weren't on Oct 2010 were you?

MsNobodyAgain Wed 26-Sep-12 20:30:13

Ood my babies are 9, 7 and 7. So quite a few years ago for me.

Although I think Sparkling is also in the old gimmers club where DCs are concerned. grin

Time to wander off to bed after insulting another MN member. Sorry Sparkling!

Sparklingbrook Wed 26-Sep-12 20:34:56

No, that's totally true MsN. I have a 13 year old and a 10 year old. grin

BiscuitNibbler Wed 26-Sep-12 20:35:38

Are those razor blades on Elaine's necklace??

My DD is 3, so a few years ago now. I'm in the old gimmers' club, but DD isn't. I expect she will grow up telling people I'm her granny.

OodHousekeeping Wed 26-Sep-12 20:36:53

I've an almost 13 year old and a 11 year old as well as the almost 2 year old. plus dc4 bump

RaahhisOrangeandGold Wed 26-Sep-12 20:48:40

I have a 10 in december, ds, 6 yr old dd1, and dd2 will be 2 on Saturday<sob>

I am having a broody wobble. Awkward, given that I had my tubes tiedgrin.

Ood- dd2 was meant to be an October baby, but I had her early-ish. In retrospect, October would have been better- I have 4 family birthdays this weekgrin

And Elaine's necklace did look lethal- I'd expect health warnings on it if I saw it in Claire's accessoriesgrin

OodHousekeeping Wed 26-Sep-12 20:56:09

Did anything happen on Tues/Wed episodes that I need to watch or shall I just read the thread?

Matesnotdates Wed 26-Sep-12 21:55:13

Thank you all for the welcome. I am now officially addicted.

MsNo - thank you so much. I get it now (sort of).

So it is Elaine who is the waterfall cardigan serial offender? So much is becoming clear to me.

I have taken an instant loathing to Cherry. I have no idea why.

BiscuitNibbler Wed 26-Sep-12 22:05:23

If you have taken an instant loathing to Cherry, Mates, then you truly are a SDTP!

Matesnotdates Wed 26-Sep-12 22:08:09

Thank you biscuit!

Her face just annoys me.

Matesnotdates Wed 26-Sep-12 22:11:00

Could she be preg by that streak of piss Daniel, I think his name is? Is that why she is avoiding the preg test (you see THAT annoys me, so illogical).

BiscuitNibbler Wed 26-Sep-12 22:24:18

I hope not. She is still on the pill, so I think that is why she hasn't taken it. Jimmy thinks she has stopped taking it, but she hasn't.

I am still harbouring hopes of her having a fatal accident at Christmas. That would be the best present ever.

Matesnotdates Wed 26-Sep-12 22:24:32

Sorry did not mean streak, I meant weak as. I want Zara to come back, I liked her.

MsNobodyAgain Thu 27-Sep-12 07:12:44

Ood I think the general rule is you can miss any episode and still catch up by reading this thread. grin

Isn't it funny how we all dislike Princess Bubblegum? And let's note how she didn't actually POAS yesterday, she ran it under the tap. Therefore they could still go down the pregnant by Daniel route...

Anyway, I have got a cold and need Kevin over here to soothe me. Someone sort his hair out and send him on his way, thankyou!

BiscuitNibbler Thu 27-Sep-12 07:45:41

Sorry, MsN, today Mrs Tembe is on home visit duty.

Expect to be told there is nothing wrong with you and for her to criticise your housekeeping.

MsNobodyAgain Thu 27-Sep-12 07:57:35

sad I can picture her indignation at my slovenly ways. However ... she may bring cake! grin

OodHousekeeping Thu 27-Sep-12 11:29:42

Watched both now. Need beanbag action before Elaine goes!

Sparklingbrook Thu 27-Sep-12 11:48:53

I won't be able to watch today's live so I will need a summary later. wink

me too- and dh has told me we are way above our internet limit (because of my sad habit of iplayer in bed)
The lady playing Barbara at Mrs Tembe's church came to view my house twice several years ago - she was very nice.

MsNobodyAgain Thu 27-Sep-12 13:34:12

Ohh Mary - claim to fame!

I've just stirred from my pit to watch todays. I feel awful sad. I need food.

RaahhisOrangeandGold Thu 27-Sep-12 13:46:14

they deffo keep starting this early

why has gobby got all this time? has she been sacked please

RaahhisOrangeandGold Thu 27-Sep-12 13:47:45

Jimmi is a bit dim- why woulld he actually pass on Harrison's things?

And isn't it funny how his death has affected everyone way more than Freya's?grin

Freya who?

MsNobodyAgain Thu 27-Sep-12 13:48:52

Summary so far:

Jimmi handing over Harrisons personal 'things' to Elaine who is looking surprisingly drab today. Heston is trying to comfort her.

Jas can't get money out of the cashpoint. Mrs T isn't impressed as she is late.

RaahhisOrangeandGold Thu 27-Sep-12 13:49:04

MsNobodyAgain Thu 27-Sep-12 13:49:47

'Ello Raahh. Karen wasn't in the opening credits...

RaahhisOrangeandGold Thu 27-Sep-12 13:50:14

I really dislike Jas. Can't put my finger on why. I think it's because she acts like a 14 year old.

RaahhisOrangeandGold Thu 27-Sep-12 13:51:37

'ello, MsN
Gobby wasn't in the credits? omg.

Will Gobbyplod finally do her in and bury her under the conservatory.

MsNobodyAgain Thu 27-Sep-12 13:52:14

A spoilt brat in the waiting room just used the word 'decorously' confused

Elaine 'can't wait' for the meeting. Watch out TBFE.

Jas bugs me too but that's because she is pretty

MsNobodyAgain Thu 27-Sep-12 13:53:07

I will rewind and report back after this has finished Raahh. I could be wrong.

<dons detective hat>

RaahhisOrangeandGold Thu 27-Sep-12 13:54:37

a brilliant job- one was a shop lifter, who regularly got kidnapped, the other nearly got killed.

MsNobodyAgain Thu 27-Sep-12 13:55:06

RaahhisOrangeandGold Thu 27-Sep-12 13:55:33

Jas is very pretty. And wears proper doctor-like attire. Unlike Freya.

MsNobodyAgain Thu 27-Sep-12 13:55:57

Tiffany has awful fashion sense

MsNobodyAgain Thu 27-Sep-12 13:56:47

Karen researching a family tree... could this lead to the loss of the house?

RaahhisOrangeandGold Thu 27-Sep-12 13:56:55

Family tree will un-earth true owner of house!

RaahhisOrangeandGold Thu 27-Sep-12 14:02:55

tsk, Jas - never judge a patient by their vocabulary.

And be grateful there was a patient!grin

MsNobodyAgain Thu 27-Sep-12 14:03:27

Listen to Heston!

RaahhisOrangeandGold Thu 27-Sep-12 14:06:36

aww, they are finally getting flirty, and Elaine is leavingsad

MsNobodyAgain Thu 27-Sep-12 14:07:26

She's off her nut though.

RaahhisOrangeandGold Thu 27-Sep-12 14:07:43

oi- don't dis Juuuuuuulia!

RaahhisOrangeandGold Thu 27-Sep-12 14:08:10

Yay!!!! snoggy snoggy!

MsNobodyAgain Thu 27-Sep-12 14:08:19

<cringe> she went at him like she was going to strangle him!

OodHousekeeping Thu 27-Sep-12 14:08:38

What happened then? Put dd3 on potty & Elaine ea

madhairday Thu 27-Sep-12 14:08:48

Elaine and TBFE??? grin

MsNobodyAgain Thu 27-Sep-12 14:09:49

TBFE was being nice in a professional capacity and Elaine leapt on him. Arf.

RaahhisOrangeandGold Thu 27-Sep-12 14:10:06

'did you keep the receipts'

romance isn't deadgrin

madhairday Thu 27-Sep-12 14:11:38

Jas is pretty but she is annoying.

MsNobodyAgain Thu 27-Sep-12 14:12:06

Sorry Raahh false alarm. Karen is still in the opening credits. blush

MildredIsMyAlterEgo Thu 27-Sep-12 14:15:30

<runs in and waves to everyone, been AWOL lately, boring RL stuff blah blah>

Just caught the last 10 minutes of today's:

Elaine with the worst screen kiss ever shock

'Did you keep the receipts' grin grin

MsNobodyAgain Thu 27-Sep-12 14:15:37

So summary is:
- Jas is skint. Overhears what she thinks is a posh/monied couple talking in waiting room and treats the male patient badly
- Elaine rescues the situation but Jas thinks she has gone to report her to Howard
- Elaine goes slowly off her rocker after getting Harrisons stuff and pounces on TBFE like a cougar, then she says she is leaving the Mill
- Gobbys are rattling round in the big house and missing the kids

There you go. smile

MsNobodyAgain Thu 27-Sep-12 14:16:25

<waves at Mildred>

Matesnotdates Thu 27-Sep-12 14:29:16

That was a marvellous episode. As a Doctors virgin, can I just say those Gobbys do far too much cleaning. And how did they get that enormous house?

And Elaine and Howard was classic - she was like a python going for a mouse.

Elaine gets her clothes in Marks and Spencers Classic section - only they would do that particular shade of terracotta.

MsNobodyAgain Thu 27-Sep-12 14:36:37

grin Mates @ python going for a mouse.

The enormous house is a bone of contention. Apparently a long lost Aunt died and left it to them so we think either:
1) the house they used to film in irl couldn't be used anymore
2) they will lose this house in some awful Doctors WTF episode

BiscuitNibbler Thu 27-Sep-12 18:05:56

OMG - I can't wait to watch this later.

<Realise I need to get out more if this is the highlight of my day>

Sparklingbrook Thu 27-Sep-12 18:11:23

I am yet to see it too Biscuit. DH and the DCs going out so I will watch it on my own in peace in a bit. <excited>

spanky2 Thu 27-Sep-12 19:05:34

I am abit behind, Daniel has just shagged prostitute and been rude to Jimmy. I am abit worried because the worse he behaves the more I fancy him. Should I get a life? Is it just me? Is he all mine ? Don't know what dh would say?

BiscuitNibbler Thu 27-Sep-12 20:45:30

Just watched. Have you watched yet, Sparkling?

"Did you keep the receipts?" is my all time favourite Doctors quote. I can't stop chuckling.

Spanky - you can keep Daniel. TBFE is all mine.

Matesnotdates Thu 27-Sep-12 20:52:53

msnobody - your synopses are brilliant. You are like a walking Doctors wiki.

Biscuit - it's fast becoming the highlight of my day too.

MsNobodyAgain Fri 28-Sep-12 13:44:31

Elaine is leaving today. Sob. I hope she has got a good necklace on.

Sparklingbrook Fri 28-Sep-12 13:45:13

I still haven't watched Biscuit. sad

RaahhisOrangeandGold Fri 28-Sep-12 13:46:21

I'll miss Elaine. It's a huge cull of characters in a very short space of timesad

MsNobodyAgain Fri 28-Sep-12 13:46:24

Oh, she's being a necklace shock

RaahhisOrangeandGold Fri 28-Sep-12 13:47:29

no necklace!!!

MsNobodyAgain Fri 28-Sep-12 13:53:24

'we are haemorraghing staff left right and centre' You're not kidding Heston. There will be no-one left in a bit sad

RaahhisOrangeandGold Fri 28-Sep-12 13:53:37

Jas is such a whinger!

RaahhisOrangeandGold Fri 28-Sep-12 13:54:19

don't tell us, Jas- you're having a bad day...again...<yawn>

MsNobodyAgain Fri 28-Sep-12 13:55:53

Jas mistaken for a fitness instructor. Yeah, stuff like that happens all the time hmm

RaahhisOrangeandGold Fri 28-Sep-12 13:58:12

it's like a beryl bainbridge paintinggrin

MsNobodyAgain Fri 28-Sep-12 13:58:46

grin Raahh

RaahhisOrangeandGold Fri 28-Sep-12 14:00:03

I mean Beryl Cook- bit of a differencegrin

RaahhisOrangeandGold Fri 28-Sep-12 14:00:57

I love Gobby's face!

MsNobodyAgain Fri 28-Sep-12 14:01:34

I knew what you meant. lol.

BiscuitNibbler Fri 28-Sep-12 14:01:54

Just watching now, about ten minutes behind.

No necklace! On her last day! shock

Are they trying to make Jas as annoying as Cherry?

MsNobodyAgain Fri 28-Sep-12 14:02:19

Mandy is an interfering cow.

BiscuitNibbler Fri 28-Sep-12 14:02:39

Ooh! Heston getting angry! Watch out, TBFE! He's got form!

RaahhisOrangeandGold Fri 28-Sep-12 14:03:15

Jas is possibly even more annoying than Cherry.

Wtf is going on?

'what am I doing in a bush' pmsl

BiscuitNibbler Fri 28-Sep-12 14:03:21

Do we actually like any of them now?

MsNobodyAgain Fri 28-Sep-12 14:03:26

'I'm a professional woman. What am I doing in a bush?' grin

RaahhisOrangeandGold Fri 28-Sep-12 14:03:39

I've had a terrible day, no money....change the record woman!

MsNobodyAgain Fri 28-Sep-12 14:04:16

I still like Heston, and Karen Biscuit and Mrs T when she isn't being a bitch.

RaahhisOrangeandGold Fri 28-Sep-12 14:04:26

Biscuit- i like mrs T, but she's been a bit mean of late, and i have a soft spot for heston...that's itgrin

RaahhisOrangeandGold Fri 28-Sep-12 14:04:45

x- post MsN grin

MsNobodyAgain Fri 28-Sep-12 14:06:15

Oh, Kevin. You could do something for me my dear... come closer my dear, I don't bite...

BiscuitNibbler Fri 28-Sep-12 14:06:37

Yes, agree with you both, like Heston, Mrs T, and even Karen. And TBFE, of course.

But everyone else just gets on my nerves.

RaahhisOrangeandGold Fri 28-Sep-12 14:06:40

Jas just sees a full time job in the offing. Bitch.

BiscuitNibbler Fri 28-Sep-12 14:07:12

Oh and Kevin I suppose.

Mandy has a really annoying voice.

RaahhisOrangeandGold Fri 28-Sep-12 14:07:43

This boy looks about 14. Where is he going to gosad

MsNobodyAgain Fri 28-Sep-12 14:08:12

Mandy = FOD (forehead of doom)

RaahhisOrangeandGold Fri 28-Sep-12 14:08:56

I do like Donnie Darko. Tis as WTF as Doctors.

is it a necklace? didn't they play this kate bush track the other day??

RaahhisOrangeandGold Fri 28-Sep-12 14:09:24

MsNobodyAgain Fri 28-Sep-12 14:09:28

She's donated her beanbags!

RaahhisOrangeandGold Fri 28-Sep-12 14:10:09

MildredIsMyAlterEgo Fri 28-Sep-12 14:11:36

grin beanbags grin

BiscuitNibbler Fri 28-Sep-12 14:11:41

Were you drunk? Haha! Love Doctors!

MsNobodyAgain Fri 28-Sep-12 14:11:50

Awww, I'm sad to see Elaine go.

(Did you notice Cherry had her hands over her stomach?) hmm

RaahhisOrangeandGold Fri 28-Sep-12 14:15:22

ok- doctors count- Daniel, Kevin, Heston, Jimmi and Jas. Across two surgerieshmm And Jimmi has 'police work' to do as well.

Good job they always outnumber the patientsgrin

BiscuitNibbler Fri 28-Sep-12 14:23:54

I always get sad when characters go, I even felt slightly choked up when Immie went, but Elaine's leaving left me cold. She never really got going as a character before she left.

I hope the new doctors (surely there must be some coming) will have better storylines.

MsNobodyAgain Fri 28-Sep-12 14:31:58

I wasn't bothered about Immie but I'd be gutted if Heston went, or even TBFE these days.

Definitely need some new doctors. I'm stalking Digital Spy on a daily basis but I haven't seen anything about new recruits yet.

BiscuitNibbler Fri 28-Sep-12 15:23:39

Don't get me wrong, I wasn't sorry to see Immie go, I just found her leaving scenes moving, probably because of the effect on Karen. I don't think any of the mill staff will miss Elaine, she just wasn't connected to anybody, was she?

I shall be looking at Digital Spy tonight, MSN, as Friday night is spoiler night! (That's if I manage to stay awake until midnight.)

MsNobodyAgain Fri 28-Sep-12 15:32:45

I know what you mean biscuit.

On Monday I will be waving goodbye to my boys for 4 whole days while they go on a residential school trip. It will be the first time I have been parted from my son since he got over his illness.

I will blub like Karen and wander aimlessly through my house, before pulling myself together and living it up with DD!!! grin

RaahhisOrangeandGold Fri 28-Sep-12 15:55:34

aaw, MsN- bet he's looking forward to it (even if you aren't). It's dd2's 2nd birthday tomorrow. Dh is on nights, so we will have to celebrate quietly in the morning fat chance. DD1 has insisted on decorating a cake with a picture of her sister's face- it involved strawberry laces made into curls, chocolate buttons and yellow glitter icing. If dd2 was one of the Simpsons it would be a perfect likenessgrin

MsNobodyAgain Fri 28-Sep-12 16:07:05

Thank you. I am having a major wibble about it but he will probably forget about me about 5 minutes into the journey smile

Happy birthday to mini Raahh for tomorrow. I love the sound of the cake and I don't even like cake. I do like the Simpsons though ... would the likeness be to Lisa, Bart, or Sideshow Bob? grin

Ooh can I join? Been lurking for a while- I have Doctors on series link and DP laughs at me when he catches me watching it!grin

MsNobodyAgain Fri 28-Sep-12 16:20:57

Wa-ha! terrywoganstrousers of course your can join!

Your name alone gives you access to all areas of the nonsense that is the WTF Doctors thread.

Now, do you own a waterfall cardi? Although that may not be compulsory now Elaine has left...

2plus2 Fri 28-Sep-12 16:33:50

Hi all I'm still around but only get to catch up at the weekend now I'm back at work sad. Anyway starting early and having a quick sit down with cherry and her pregnancy test, bet that wasn't her sample. wink

MsNobodyAgain Fri 28-Sep-12 16:39:12

Hi 2plus2 I was wondering where you were. <ticks register> wink

goldmywrath Fri 28-Sep-12 16:59:11

Has Blondie posted recently-wondering about mini Blondie arrival.
Welcome TerryW-did you get the name idea from the POV moleskin trouser episode?

Nickname is indeed from that memorable incident grin
I don't own a waterfall cardi but my DM is always trying to thrust one on me. Am strangely sad to see Elaine go, but so happy to see the back of Immie, I hate her and her hair and her 'wacky' ways. Is Jack gone for good too?

I also have to add that IMO it would have been a far better story if Elaine had actually got together with whatsisname practice manager.
My favourite character by far is Mrs Tembe.

fedupandfifty Fri 28-Sep-12 18:06:43

Glad I'm not the only one. I'm intrigued by Mrs Tembe's hairdo - sometimes it's a bob and sometimes a layered style - is she wearing a wig or what?

MsNobodyAgain Fri 28-Sep-12 18:12:11

It's getting busier than the Mill waiting room in here today but that's not hard grin

Jack has been written out as far as I know.

I love Mrs T. She does have an array of wigs. I like to take guesses on which one she will have on. But my life is pretty boring.

Sparklingbrook Fri 28-Sep-12 18:15:41

I am in the waiting room waiting to catch up with the last few episodes. FIFA 13 was bought today though so The DSs are hogging the TV. angry

MsNobodyAgain Fri 28-Sep-12 18:21:16

Poor sparkling sad

Not Fifa related but me and the DCs have just spent the best part of an hour on and off looking for the second Wii remote. Tempers are frrrrrrrrrrrayed.

We've found it. Behind a cushion. Queue lecture from me about 'this is why everything should be put back in it's proper place'.

I need wine

Sparklingbrook Fri 28-Sep-12 18:24:48

I think I may do headphones and I player in a bit.

We lost the TV remote last week MsN. OMG I wish they would look that hard for a lost school book or their house key. DH came home and joined in, it was a real crisis. hmm

It was found in my paperwork drawer. Phew.

Sparklingbrook Fri 28-Sep-12 19:43:43

Right I am all caught up. grin

I think the actress that plays Elaine will turn up in a bonnetty drama on a Sunday night next.

It was quite sad she left, she was a decent actress. grin

Matesnotdates Fri 28-Sep-12 23:46:00

I thought until the last moment that howard was going to say he had secretly loved her forever and then she would not go.

Quite hard to predict, this programme.

BiscuitNibbler Sat 29-Sep-12 00:02:12

Aaagghh! Digital Spy hasn't revealed the spoilers yet! They usually update at midnight.

BiscuitNibbler Sat 29-Sep-12 00:02:32

Ooh! There now!

BiscuitNibbler Sat 29-Sep-12 00:10:59

Well I've read them.

shock Wednesday! Mrs T!

shock Friday! Order more soap!

MsNobodyAgain Sat 29-Sep-12 07:17:45

Just read them...lovely!

RaahhisOrangeandGold Sat 29-Sep-12 07:49:07

just caught up with the spoilers. All sounds delightfully wtfgrin

The new locum sounds interesting.

TheAngelshavetheOod Sat 29-Sep-12 15:19:42

Mandy wasn't in the picture have they forgotten her!

Why would a Dr not call CS ? Even in the WTF world of Doctors!

goldmywrath Sat 29-Sep-12 22:05:58

I still don't read the spoilers & the news about Elaine was leaked on here! Ladies please can I ask that we preserve the mystery of Doctors. wink

BiscuitNibbler Sun 30-Sep-12 07:02:38

Sorry wrath.

When I mention the spoilers I try not to write anything specific, but I know a large number of us do read them, so we like to alert each other to their presence.

I think the Elaine spoiler slipped through because it became apparent that everyone talking on the board at the time knew about it, we forgot others may be lurking. blush

To be fair, even though I read the spoilers, watch the show and read this thread I still don't know what is going on most of the time. I think the mystery of Doctors will always be preserved! grin

MsNobodyAgain Sun 30-Sep-12 07:29:26

No problem gold .

I am still dying to know if Cherry in pregnant IRL though... They seem to be avoiding tummy shots.

I am usually not tempted but spoilers, but I'm going to my mums for a week and it might be fun to appear all psychic about potential happenings (yes, she's a doctors fan too)

blondiep14 Sun 30-Sep-12 18:15:57

Room for a mini bean bag in the corner?!

Baby Blonde finally put in an appearance!

And without being induced amazingly!

Had a quick (3 hours from phoning to baby)waterbirth in the MLU, no dramas, no stitches. Lots of pain and a flipping nightmare delivering placenta, but all now well.

Scarlett was 9lb 3oz and is currently snuffling away next to me .
DS1 and DS2 very happy with their baby sister too.

Omg! Congratulations smile

Welcome to the world of wtf baby Scarlett!

Ps - is her middle name Elaine, Julia, Zara or Winifred?

TheAngelshavetheOod Sun 30-Sep-12 18:29:23

Yay a thread baby!

BiscuitNibbler Sun 30-Sep-12 18:41:11

Wow! Congratulations Blondie!

Scarlett is a beautiful name although a bit disappointed at the lack of a Doctors-inspired name. Have you thought of a middle name yet? Hopes Makes is right about Doctors middle name

2plus2 Sun 30-Sep-12 18:49:49

Congratulations on the newest doctors fan bet she will recognise the theme tune. I'm all caught up now, ready for another week. Felt quite sad about Elaine going why I ask myself its only doctors wink

RaahhisOrangeandGold Sun 30-Sep-12 18:50:09

ohenvy CONGRATULATIONS!!! Blondie- and welcome baby Scarlett smile

Sparklingbrook Sun 30-Sep-12 19:06:17

Yay! Congratulations to Blondie and family. xxxx

blondiep14 Sun 30-Sep-12 22:20:04

Thanks ladies!

The birth was so 'woo' I half expected her to have an Elaine necklace on!!

goldmywrath Sun 30-Sep-12 22:36:42

Welcome to baby Scarlett & glad it all went well. Love the name Blondie Thanks ladies for your kind messages about spoilers, best wishes from a very SDTP.. smile

MildredIsMyAlterEgo Sun 30-Sep-12 22:40:49

Congratulations Blondie! Hurrah! thanks

Scarlett is a lovely name and would go very well with Winifred grin

goldmywrath Sun 30-Sep-12 22:42:55

Yes Biscuit the mystery remains preserved.
I think Cherry lost a lot of weight (perhaps the actress took up running in RL & the writers decided it would be an awfully good plot for the show)
So MsNo in a roundabout way I'm trying to say that I haven't noticed Cherry's tum-but I will certainly be keeping 'em peeled now.

MsNobodyAgain Mon 01-Oct-12 07:52:59

Blondie grin smile grin thanks

What wonderful news to wake up to this morning! Well done and welcome to Scarlett. I love her name.

MsNobodyAgain Mon 01-Oct-12 07:54:38

On a totally selfish note I'm waiting to wave my boys off to a 4 day residential trip. They'll be ok won't they??

<worry> sad

BiscuitNibbler Mon 01-Oct-12 08:01:48

They'll be perfectly fine, MsN. And so will you be after the first day is over.

As long as they are going nowhere near the Leatherbridge vicinity

MsNobodyAgain Mon 01-Oct-12 08:20:26

smile I know you're right.

They've gone now. DS1 cried, bless him. DS2 couldn't wait to see the back of me grin.

I wouldn't let them near Leatherbridge. It's a hotbed of crime and sin they can go there when they are older

Sparklingbrook Mon 01-Oct-12 13:37:23

Afternoon all. I am just warming the TV up.

MsNobodyAgain Mon 01-Oct-12 13:45:37

'Ello Sparkling. That takes me back...warming the tv up smile

Sparklingbrook Mon 01-Oct-12 13:46:58

grin MsN It's my MN birthday today-a whole year. wine

Raahh Mon 01-Oct-12 13:47:33

this woman reminds me of a slightly more deranged Auntie Mabelgrin

MsNobodyAgain Mon 01-Oct-12 13:47:48

'The doctors will come through and collect you' confused. They do anyway!

Sparklingbrook Mon 01-Oct-12 13:48:07

Nurse Gladys Emmanuel. grin

Raahh Mon 01-Oct-12 13:48:29

wine Sparkling.

6 years next month for me- I'm really trying to wean myself offgrin

Sparklingbrook Mon 01-Oct-12 13:48:46

Eww what was Jimmy suggesting?

MsNobodyAgain Mon 01-Oct-12 13:49:01

wine for Sparkling grin

<arf> at deranged Auntie Mabel. Reminds me of the legendary poo episode of Come Outside.

Raahh Mon 01-Oct-12 13:49:43

They have patients today? blimey, that must be a shockgrin

Raahh Mon 01-Oct-12 13:50:34

today was the equally legendary 'brown teapot' episode, MrsN grin

MsNobodyAgain Mon 01-Oct-12 13:51:48

I'm so glad my kids have finally outgrown that stage Raahh

MsNobodyAgain Mon 01-Oct-12 13:52:44

Oh Jas, that isn't the way to secure a job you silly young woman.

Raahh Mon 01-Oct-12 13:53:24

MsN- I made the mistake of spacing mine so that just as one grew out of Cbeebies, I had one just getting into it. 10 years on, I have seen the poo episode a lot grin

<yawn> jas whinging again.

BiscuitNibbler Mon 01-Oct-12 13:54:52

A waiting room full of patients! shock

Eww at Jimmi wanting to do the deed at work. Cherry should have said "Been there, done that!"

TBFE is looking mighty fine today.

Congratulations Raah! About 3 years for me, but I have only posted for about a year.

MsNobodyAgain Mon 01-Oct-12 13:55:51

Was that what Jimmi was on about? Ewwwwwwwwwwwww!?!?

BiscuitNibbler Mon 01-Oct-12 13:56:11

I love the poo episode. I think Aunty Mabel is fantastic.

Raahh Mon 01-Oct-12 13:56:48

how can TBFE say Jas is a good doctor, when she's hardly had any patients and been crap with all of themconfused

BiscuitNibbler Mon 01-Oct-12 13:57:20

I think so, MSN. envy (this is me feeling sick)

BiscuitNibbler Mon 01-Oct-12 13:58:08

Dealing with patients isn't a major part of a GP's job in Leatherbridge, Raah.

MsNobodyAgain Mon 01-Oct-12 13:58:22

Anyone that does that 'sssssssssssssss' "smokin'" things deserves to be shot.

Raahh Mon 01-Oct-12 13:59:07

true, MrsN <forgot what i was watching for a minute>

Raahh Mon 01-Oct-12 13:59:27

Sorry, meant biscuit

Sparklingbrook Mon 01-Oct-12 14:00:15

'I'll see her now, lunch can wait'. Happens all the time at my GPs. hmm

That's not auntie Mabel surely!

Sparklingbrook Mon 01-Oct-12 14:01:11

What is Gobby doing exactly?

Raahh Mon 01-Oct-12 14:01:25

is it compulsory for all young women in Leatherbridge to have chlamydia(sp)- seems to crop up a lothmm

Sparklingbrook Mon 01-Oct-12 14:01:37

Jimmy is having a pre-rude sandwich. shock

Raahh Mon 01-Oct-12 14:01:51

ahh, MrsT, love yougrin

MsNobodyAgain Mon 01-Oct-12 14:01:51

As do lifts by health practitioners to job interviews Sparkling hmm

BiscuitNibbler Mon 01-Oct-12 14:02:11

Jimmi just told a patient to get a housecall to check his blood pressure rather than buy a cheap monitor for self-use.

I can just imagine the reaction at my surgery if I rang up and asked for that!

Raahh Mon 01-Oct-12 14:02:43

It wasn't auntie mabel, Terry, but it looked a bit like her. Sort of.

MsNobodyAgain Mon 01-Oct-12 14:02:50

TerryWT I think it's Auntie Mabel larger cousin grin

Raahh Mon 01-Oct-12 14:04:13

I hate my doctors surgery more by the week. Last week, I ordered a prescription, and they messed up because the printer broke. This was obviously my fault. I had to go back 4 times in the same day before i got one.shock. if i didn't like my doctor, i would move.

BiscuitNibbler Mon 01-Oct-12 14:05:22

Thank God Cherry gave him the brush off.

Raahh Mon 01-Oct-12 14:05:41

is what Gobby is doing, strictly professional?

Daniel is becoming a baby boregrin

MsNobodyAgain Mon 01-Oct-12 14:06:08

Kevin is in bad clothes again. All mismatched confused

Raahh Mon 01-Oct-12 14:06:50

Have we seen Kev's 'red trousers of lurrrve' recently?

Sparklingbrook Mon 01-Oct-12 14:07:19

BAH today methinks.

Raahh Mon 01-Oct-12 14:08:37

very BAH, Sparkling

Sparklingbrook Mon 01-Oct-12 14:09:55

What is all this crap with the waitress and the pill and Jas and TBFE?

BiscuitNibbler Mon 01-Oct-12 14:09:59

I can't abide Jas.

'got to keep my strength up!! shockshock
To Mrs T as well!

Raahh Mon 01-Oct-12 14:12:00

I don't understandconfused

She had a pt job- it wasn't exactly lap-dancing.hmm

BiscuitNibbler Mon 01-Oct-12 14:12:51

I think he is angry because she was falsifying records.

Sparklingbrook Mon 01-Oct-12 14:12:59

No, sorry not feeling the sympathy for Jas. Yawn.

Raahh Mon 01-Oct-12 14:13:03

'I'm dead'

MsNobodyAgain Mon 01-Oct-12 14:15:08

Well, that was BAH. All that fuss over a waitressing job she had no need to cover up.

Tomorrows looks a bit more promising.

And they showed Cherrys belly so my 'pregnant IRL' thought is blown out of the water. Damn!

BiscuitNibbler Mon 01-Oct-12 14:15:21

I saw an ad for something like Ryvita earlier and Melody was in it. Not seen her in anything else since she left Doctors.

BiscuitNibbler Mon 01-Oct-12 14:16:33

Sorry, that was a bit random, wasn't it? Maybe I should write for Doctors.

goldmywrath Mon 01-Oct-12 15:10:24

Wasn't Melody in the Sun Bingo Sun Bingo ads as well(dot co dot uk). Haven't seen her in a proper TV show since Doctors. hmm dsn

Matesnotdates Mon 01-Oct-12 15:25:10

Sorry sorry sorry but I missed a bit - when i left the room, Jas practically had the job but when i returned she was crying on the floor - who vetoed her?

MsNobodyAgain Mon 01-Oct-12 16:19:17

TBFE vetoed her. Bit of a daft storyline (what's new)?

- Jas convinced TBFE to take her on full time
- Jas's old waitress 'buddy' talked her into prescribing her the Pill (she'd been with another Doctors Practice and said she'd always had it and it was fine)
- Jas wrote prescription but then changed her mind after finding out the waitress had migraines and shouldn't be on the pill
- She then altered the online medical records of the 'buddy' or didn't record it all all but TBFE had seen 'buddy' with the prescription in her hands so he said he would no longer offer her the full time job as she wasn't trustworthy / had broke the rules

I think that's right but don't quote me! confused

MsNobodyAgain Mon 01-Oct-12 16:21:04

at all

Matesnotdates Mon 01-Oct-12 22:06:43

Thanks msnobody, I did wonder where that Pill storyline was going...

MsNobodyAgain Tue 02-Oct-12 10:33:39

Can anyone do me a summary today please? I have bedrooms to re-decorate, duvets and pillows to buy and a DD that wants to go to Frankie & Bennys. At least I can read the update while we are waiting for the crap food. grin

Ta muchly!

TheAngelshavetheOod Tue 02-Oct-12 12:26:03

Just watched yesterday's. Wish I hadn't bothered

BiscuitNibbler Tue 02-Oct-12 12:47:37

Won't be able to watch today's until this evening. Would also appreciate a summary!

Raahh Tue 02-Oct-12 13:46:48

ok- how many times this episode is Jas going to mention she is skint?grin

Raahh Tue 02-Oct-12 13:48:30

Heston flirting with new locumgrin

Sparklingbrook Tue 02-Oct-12 13:49:30

This wtf storyline had better be good.....

Raahh Tue 02-Oct-12 13:50:11

ok- so far, a woman who appears to be an alcoholic, has woken up after a night out at the W.I. She's a journo. The paper printed her obituarygrin

new locum is an attractive older woman. We know where this is headed....grin

Raahh Tue 02-Oct-12 13:51:00

alcoholic's husband looks like Gandalf.

Raahh Tue 02-Oct-12 13:52:05

needless to say, Jas hates locum

Sparklingbrook Tue 02-Oct-12 13:52:53

'Not dead certificate'. confused

Raahh Tue 02-Oct-12 13:53:54

does such a thing exist, Sparkling?

Sparklingbrook Tue 02-Oct-12 13:54:59

Probably in Doctors Raahh. grin

Raahh Tue 02-Oct-12 13:55:48

So, person who proclaimed woman dead, is the woman's sister. grin

Sparklingbrook Tue 02-Oct-12 13:56:25

Hands up who cares about the not dead sisters.

Raahh Tue 02-Oct-12 13:56:43

Well we haven't had a bickering aging sisters story for a while, I suppose....hmm

Sparklingbrook Tue 02-Oct-12 13:57:36

Ooooh a duel. grin

Raahh Tue 02-Oct-12 13:58:11

<sits on hands>

Sparklingbrook Tue 02-Oct-12 14:00:42

What the bobbins is going on?

Raahh Tue 02-Oct-12 14:01:16

Jas is going to try sex lines...

Sparklingbrook Tue 02-Oct-12 14:01:40

Someone has to do a summary of this. Bagsy not me.

TheAngelshavetheOod Tue 02-Oct-12 14:01:47

Jas is just a walking disaster isn't she. It's getting boring now.

Raahh Tue 02-Oct-12 14:01:56

and the sisters are going to kill each other playing squashgrin

Sparklingbrook Tue 02-Oct-12 14:02:11

Oh no is she dead now?

Raahh Tue 02-Oct-12 14:02:54

oh, g'wan, Sparkling grin

'extra cash'- Jas Bingo!

Sparklingbrook Tue 02-Oct-12 14:03:36

Oh no- get the undead certificate back out....

Raahh Tue 02-Oct-12 14:04:34

the husband wrote the obit!

Sparklingbrook Tue 02-Oct-12 14:04:44

OOOh have these 2 got previous??? shock

Raahh Tue 02-Oct-12 14:08:56

The not-dead sister has borrowed one of Elaine's scary necklacesgrin

Sparklingbrook Tue 02-Oct-12 14:11:00

Bring back the funny WTF storylines FGS.

Sparklingbrook Tue 02-Oct-12 14:11:39

Health and safety wedding ring. [confusing]

Sparklingbrook Tue 02-Oct-12 14:12:34

<runs away from thread to avoid doing the summary>

Raahh Tue 02-Oct-12 14:15:28

So, in summary.

Alcoholic former journalist reads her own obituary in the paper.
This was written by her sister, in collusion with alcoholic's dh, to shock her into sobriety.

New locum is attractive older woman. Heston gets excited.

TBFE is concerned about locum being too attractive. Probably because all his staff are married/divorced/shagging each other.

New locum encourages Jas to take up sex line work to make extra cash, after- you guessed it- Jas moaned about having no money.

Raahh Tue 02-Oct-12 14:16:28

Sparkling- you cowardgrin

plus, I may have missed out something important as I wasn't concentratinggrin

Sparklingbrook Tue 02-Oct-12 14:17:01

That's very good Raahh. But not worth watching IMO. grin

Horsemad Tue 02-Oct-12 14:23:59

I got the impression that TBFE & locum 'knew' each other from way back when..? However, I wasn't concentrating so may have got the wrong end of the stick grin

MsNobodyAgain Tue 02-Oct-12 15:57:06

Thanks for the synopsis. I didn't miss much from the sounds of it, lol.

(Why is the food in F and Bs always cold?)

toldmywrath Tue 02-Oct-12 17:43:46

Yes horse I got that impression, too(that he 'knew' her) They used a military term, that I can't recall. ps hubby watched with me today(hmmm) & said- what's he doing there-meaning why was Kevin at the hospital. He don't get the doctors dedication in Letherbridge!

BiscuitNibbler Tue 02-Oct-12 17:59:01

Thanks for the synopsis. Will end up watching it tonight I suppose, even though it doesn't look great. If I didn't watch it every time it didn't look great I'd never watch it!

justbogoffnow Tue 02-Oct-12 18:01:48

lol at this thread! I'm in my 40's and would NEVER wear a waterfall cardigan, essentially because with a 36G bust, the waterfall drops from them and makes me look a size 26 rather than a size 14!!!

MsNobodyAgain Tue 02-Oct-12 21:19:09

just a lack of a waterfall cardi does not exclude you from this thread. We are desperate

Take a seat in the waiting room. A doctor will be with you shortly.

Raahh Tue 02-Oct-12 21:31:29

And just, we can arrange a home visit if you like...

(I don't wear waterfall cardi's either because I have massive boobs, curly hair and am only 4ft 8- I end up looking like a big frilly sheep)grin

MildredIsMyAlterEgo Tue 02-Oct-12 22:11:03

<Doesn't know whether to hastily remove waterfall cardi and stuff it behind cushion or brazen it out>

<leaves it on as there's a nip in the air>

Raahh Tue 02-Oct-12 22:19:51

We need a waterfall cardi emoticon.
That would be great, if a little niche <waves at mnhq>

justbogoffnow Tue 02-Oct-12 22:50:41

Sparklingbrook Tue 02-Oct-12 22:54:32

<swooshes waterfall cardi> Black one today. grin

BiscuitNibbler Tue 02-Oct-12 23:08:22

Just watched.

Poor Heston. sad He is just so desperate to be loved. If only he could see he has Mrs T ready and waiting for him if he would only look her way.

New locum - definitely a "past" between her and TBFE. Has she changed her name? Thought she said something about her being called Emma, as though it was a change, but was only half watching.

I think the new locum actually looks a lot like Mac's 2nd wife - thought it was her at first. She seems very familiar, though, so have just had a look on IMDB and she has been in 6 previous episodes as 5 separate characters! Most recent was mid October 2011, so not even a year ago!

I tried on a silvery grey angora lace knit waterfall cardigan today. Was beautiful, but couldn't justify the purchase, even with the excuse that it looked beautiful even with my LO in a wrap on my front... I'd just end up trailing it in poo or the after effects of blw <sigh>

The sexual tension that was missing between tbfe and droopy drawers seems to be there in buckets with this new bint. Emma is it? Does she warrant a nn yet?

Ok. Have just seen Biscuit's post. Perhaps we should call her Sixth-time-lucky ( STL ?6tl ? Lucky? )

Icelollycraving Wed 03-Oct-12 01:14:48

I thought the locum had been a call girl & tbfe had 'known' her from that. All the talk of chat lines with Jas when he walked in. That little fact would blow mrs t away cannot believe I'm thinking about this at 1am

Toldmywrath- yes why do the GPS all spend so much time at St Phils? This would never happen IRL

MsNobodyAgain Wed 03-Oct-12 07:21:33

I have a virtual waterfall cardi now as I've lost too much weight to wear my old ones (how's that for a stealth boast grin). Could do with one today though, it's freezing!

Seeing as our collective pervy thoughts didn't work on Elaine and TBFE, I agree with Biscuit and suggest we turn our attention to Heston and Mrs T. It's a match made in heaven surely?

Makes I like the 6tl nickname. It's new, it's funky, it's got a number in it!!

<I need a life, I really need to get a life> smile

Do you ever wonder how many people glance at this thread and then hide it? Arf.

BiscuitNibbler Wed 03-Oct-12 08:05:58

Do you think that Mrs T would allow Heston to call her Winifred after a few dates or would she make him wait until they got engaged?

6tl is a great nickname. Makes us look cool. Realises this is far from the truth and cool is probably a very uncool word

MsN - I expect people look at the thread and hide it, but I'm sure they take a note of our names first so they know not to engage elsewhere on the board.
