I. Love. It! grin

Really, really well done, I thought.

I think I may be Rumpelstiltskin.

diddl Sat 14-Apr-12 13:17:44

Just watched the first two eps on 5 OD.

Really enjoyed it.

rhondajean Sun 15-Apr-12 21:58:33

I'm enjoying it too. I didn't think I would - I think it's much better than Grimm.

Eowyn Sun 15-Apr-12 22:20:08

I really like this, it is so mad. I'm not sure if it is complete nonsense or really cool, but I like it anyway.

CalamityKate Mon 16-Apr-12 13:43:21

I need to catch up - missed ep. 3.

I think it's far better than Grimm, which seems a bit "samey" every week. I thought that about Touched, too.

I do like the grumpy werewolf bloke in Grimm though grin

We missed it too but it's on on Thursday at 8pm if that helps.

The two older DCs love Grimm but I'm a bit meh about it - I watch it, but do prefer Once Upon a Time. Agree with you about the 'Big Bad Wolf' Blutbad, he's a good actor and one of those people that once you notice them you realise they've been in everything grin

LeBOF Mon 16-Apr-12 13:49:35

I love this too. And Prince Charming is very easy on the eye.

insancerre Thu 19-Apr-12 17:10:42

I love this too. I am strangely hooked.

bronze Sun 20-May-12 23:20:23

Is anyone else still watching this?

LadyKooKoo Sun 20-May-12 23:28:12

Yes, I am. Love it.

I have them all recorded - watched the 1st 2 episodes and thought it was fab! I shall watch the rest one evening with a large glass of vino!

MyNameIsntFUCKINGWarren Sun 20-May-12 23:45:36

Message withdrawn at poster's request.

Me too warren - wankum hahahaa

Love this - so much that I watched the whole season ahead of uk time online grin
Can't wait for season 2 smile

TwllBach Fri 25-May-12 15:07:19

I missed the first episode and don't really get it. Is there a proper with arc that will come to a conclusion or is it just different situations every week?

There will be a conclusion and some twists but with new stories every week too smile

DoubleLifeIsALifeHalved Mon 28-May-12 21:35:15

Found Grimm same-y & without imagination.... This on the other hand is AMAZING... Have watched ahead somewhat (access to US schedule lucky me!), & it's just sooooo clever & strangely addictive & like-able characters.
I like that it's filmed in a shiny & slightly 'magic realism' way, & the way each episode builds on the central story line, & also the way it jumps around in time.

BerryJubileeCheesecake Tue 29-May-12 21:29:22

I love it, it's brilliant!! Very addictive and like fairytales for grown ups grin

goinggoinggoth Sun 17-Jun-12 21:16:58

Is anyone else still watching this? Just wanted to know if I was weird for finding Robert Carlyle attractive as Rumpelstiltskin.

goinggoinggoth Sun 17-Jun-12 21:35:00

Maybe not so much after watching attack Belle's father

Eowyn Sun 17-Jun-12 22:14:23

Meeee, tho prefer him less mud-coloured. It's great, does no one else watch it, I want to go to Storyville & sort them all out.

anonacfr Sun 17-Jun-12 22:27:19

I still can't get over the fact that they killed off the sexy Sheriff... sad

I really like Henry which is odd as I normally find children characters really irritating on TV.

Eowyn Mon 18-Jun-12 09:13:38

I think the mysterious stranger is sexier than the sheriff. But who is he...?
I also wonder how on earth they will ever resolve it. Will Claire from Lost stay in a padded cell for the rest of her life, & just how many people has the mayor got in comas & padded cells? & what a shame Snow White has to end up with the useless Price Charming.

anonacfr Mon 18-Jun-12 12:11:41

I liked the mysterious stranger at first but am going off him fast- something about him bugs me. Give me the sheriff any day!

There's a theory that the curse has not only trapped the fairy tale characters but turned them into their opposite- gutsy Snow White is now drippy Mary Margaret, brave Prince Charming is now wimp James etc.

Which makes sense for some characters but not others. confused

fiftyval Mon 18-Jun-12 13:05:21

DD and I think the mysterious stranger could be the writer of the storybook - or possibly, specifically, one of the brothers Grimm. Not sure how this would work but we thought it as he is so interested in Henry's book and has a typewriter.

ALittleFallOfRain Wed 20-Jun-12 01:17:18

I'm enjoying it, although have got slightly behind... I need to catch up before the repeat on Thursday.

The scenery and costumes in the fairytale bit are fantastic, I probably like those bits better than the Storybrook plot.

I think I need to write the list of characters out though, I'm getting the 'real life' names muddled up!

Also, does anybody know how much longer it's on for? It just seems to keep going and going (not that I'm complaining grin).

savoycabbage Wed 20-Jun-12 04:33:02

I am finding the mysterious stranger a bit wooden.

LurkingAndLearningForNow Wed 20-Jun-12 04:44:09

I ADORE this show! One of my new faves.

I've seen the whole series, trust me the last episode will leave your mouth hanging!!

ALittleFallOfRain There are 21 episodes. grin

I totally love it but don't know anyone else who watches it so glad I found this thread.

Claire from Lost - I knew I recognised her from somewhere. I thought that was such a sad storyline.

And I've only just realised that the actress who plays Emma was also in House.
bit slow on the uptake

tadjennyp Wed 20-Jun-12 06:05:41

lol savoycabbage!

savoycabbage Wed 20-Jun-12 07:29:39

TotemPole Thu 21-Jun-12 10:00:11

Naughty savoy grin

lampwick Thu 21-Jun-12 18:38:21

we all love it in our house and its a great show for kids and adults to watch together, love all the references to disney too did you that see lookalikey nurse ratchett's hair was done like the clock's in beauty and the beast

ThatllDoPig Fri 22-Jun-12 23:05:41

We love it too. But Prince Charming, just sort it out. Why is he staying married and having an affair? Not cool, and wrecking everything.
That bit when he had the two valentines day cards and gave snow white the wrong one, well, that would have been it if I was her. However sexy he is. And the card said 'I Woof you'. Nice.

ALittleFallOfRain Tue 26-Jun-12 23:20:16

Thanks Lurking, that makes me happy grin.

And Valentine's cards with two different coloured envelopes? Man's an idiot. (Which is a shame, because in the fairytale I really like him).

CalamityKate Wed 18-Jul-12 08:52:49

Well I think this just gets better and better.

LOVED the Rumpelstiltskin/Belle episode - very sweet, funny and sad.

Had to cheat to find out who August W Booth is blush

sPortyBlacksand Wed 18-Jul-12 12:48:03

I am trying to resist googling him ... but i do have some theories. i'm really enjoying it ... the little boy's weird way of speaking is a bit annoying though. I like Jiminy and RC is brilliant as rumplestiltskin.

Charming is really irritating in the modern world isn't he? I think DH has a bit of a thing for the queen / mayor - more so in fairy tale glamour grin

DSs love it too (DS1 clocked the name at the end and sniggers every time <sigh>)

sPortyBlacksand Wed 18-Jul-12 12:52:13

Actually just realised it looks as if i'm talking about the little boy's lisp ... i'm not that horrid. i meant that he stops and starts in odd bits - like he's misread the fulll stops in the script.

CalamityKate Wed 18-Jul-12 18:55:27

Ooh tell me your theories!!

I hate myself for cheating. I'm terrible for skipping to the end of books, too sad

TonyMontanasGun Mon 23-Jul-12 11:13:53

Love Once Upon A Time, missed last nights, will have to catch up later.

Robert Carlyle is such a great actor!

diddl Tue 24-Jul-12 14:25:43

I can´t see how it´ll pan out tbh (no imagination!)

I mean if they get their "happy endings" back-do Snow & PC suddenly age to become Emma´s parents & Henry´s GPs?

Roger Daltry as the Blue Caterpillar "Who are you?"-classic!

CalamityKate Mon 15-Apr-13 14:47:30

Anyone watching series 2??

Still loving it smile

mixedmamameansbusiness Fri 03-May-13 21:23:48

Just watched Sundays episode so thought I would see what MN had to say and couldn't find a thread, so thought it was time for resurrection.

Really not sure where they can go with this series but am still loving it anyway. Captain Hook giving Prince Charming a run for his money.

CalamityKate Sat 04-May-13 00:45:06

Ooh Cap Hook is easy on the eye isn't he?!

mixedmamameansbusiness Sat 04-May-13 06:13:19

I am intrigued each week. Can't wait for Subday. I was devasted when I didn't realise it was on at 8 last week and then further devastation prevailed once I also missed it on channel 5 plus 1.

marciaoverstrand Sat 04-May-13 09:24:17

Loving this series, all the new characters and its a bit darker I think.
No naff blue fairy with inflated breasts so far either, although they were mining for fairy dust so she might make an appearence!

mixedmamameansbusiness Sat 04-May-13 10:27:31

It is definitely darker. They all have an axe to grind.

I really liked Rumpel as representative of the crocodile.

It does feel like they have forgotten about stuff though, but hopefully it will all come together. I feel like two great seasons has to be preferable to 6-8 where they just keep complicating and then tying it up shoddily.

mixedmamameansbusiness Sun 05-May-13 22:02:35

Hmmm, I am thinking Victor Frankenstein is not really a fairy tale character.

Figgygal Sun 05-May-13 22:08:57

Its utter garbage entertainment, makes little sense isn't well acted and the cgi is pretty shocking BUT I cant help but watch it every week grin

mixedmamameansbusiness Sun 05-May-13 22:10:35

I have an obsession with Regina's make up.

At first I thought he was going to be Merlin.

mixedmamameansbusiness Sun 05-May-13 22:11:01

What is cgi?

Figgygal Mon 06-May-13 07:44:49

Cgi = special effects

wintera Mon 06-May-13 09:30:33

Is it messing with anyone else's head that Hook is erm . . . Well you know . . . Fit!!

ClaraOswald Mon 06-May-13 09:43:48

We're watching trying to guess who the Character of the week is.

Seeing as we have just had Frankenstein, I wonder when Anne of Green Gables will turn up.

CalamityKate Mon 06-May-13 09:51:41

Tom Ellis is going to be playing Robin Hood. He said so on Celebrity Juice.

Hook is delicious.

wintera Mon 06-May-13 10:01:14

I thought it was fairy tales but is it just any story in general? Frankenstein isn't a fairy tale, and if Robin Hood appears well then that's a myth so it seems like any story can be incorporated.

mixedmamameansbusiness Mon 06-May-13 18:06:03

But I can sort of see how Robin Hood might fit, but really not Frankenstein.

Hook is very .... Fit and the Tom Ellis news has just made my day.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams Wed 08-May-13 19:45:15

I'm glad this thread has re-appeared (I'm on it with my old name actually). I'm enjoying it, although Frankenstein was a bit...weird. There are several fairytale characters I can think of that we haven't had yet.

Actually, I suppose it's Disney characters (has there been a Disney Frankenstein?), that's why we're having Robin Hood (not as a fox though, but I'm definitely not complaining grin). Actually, I thought Aurora's Prince was very handsome. I was quite sad they killed him off so quickly.

Also, there are a few bits from last series I want to know. What did happen to Abigail/Catherine and the P.E. teacher? Did we ever find out what had happened to Cinderella's prince who went to the well and never returned? Has Jefferson put a bit of weight on?

And is Cora the Queen who outwitted Rumplestiltskin by finding out his name? There was something mentioned the other week which made me wonder...

mixedmamameansbusiness Thu 09-May-13 19:34:08

Ohhhh yes, that is interesting about Cora being the Queen. I couldn't believe there wasn't a thread, so glad it was found.

Sparklymommy Thu 09-May-13 23:36:30

Rumpelstiltskin I think I am in love! Regina; does anyone else feel sorry for her?

CalamityKate Fri 10-May-13 08:37:35

Me too. And yes!

CalamityKate Fri 10-May-13 08:39:00

There's definitely something about Robert Carlisle. His bearing or the way he moves or something. As Rumpel I mean.

mummytime Fri 10-May-13 09:36:30

Frankenstein - came from "another world" to Regina (via the hat). So they could draw in any story via the "other worlds", which Hook can travel to on his ship, as can Edwin via the Hat.

mixedmamameansbusiness Fri 10-May-13 10:20:28

Yes, I suppose that makes sense. I do feel a little sorry for Regina now. I don't like him as Gold but as scaly Rumpel - I realise I may be weird.

mixedmamameansbusiness Sun 12-May-13 15:56:30

Bump in readiness for tonight.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams Mon 13-May-13 15:29:41

In that red room with the flaming curtains, do we think the lady Henry sees could be Aurora?

I'm trying to think of a fairytale where people are in each other's dreams but nothing's springing to mind, other than Beauty and the Beast when he's dying, so probably not that. Actually, I want to know what's happening with Gold and Belle and the library, I like their story.

diddl Mon 13-May-13 22:29:54

Who do we think that Neal is going to be?

The scruffy hair seems familiar, but can't quite think.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams Tue 21-May-13 09:05:29

I was right smile

Dodgy CGI wolves though!

HairpinsAndLacquer Mon 17-Jun-13 10:57:14

Anybody still watching? Last night's was good wasn't it?

I do like Belle, I think she's one of the most interesting. sad about the ending though.

I'm glad we had a bit more of Philip, he's very good looking grin

Quaffle Mon 12-Aug-13 18:19:03

I'm still loving this.

Who is Tamara??????

sneezecakesmum Mon 12-Aug-13 19:38:51

I've watched it from the very beginning and its weirdly logical and crazy at the same time. Love it. I tape everything with adverts so I can whizz through them! Not sure who Tamara is, there are so many characters....especially as they are duplicated, one for fairytale land and one for storybrook. grin

Reality Mon 12-Aug-13 19:41:11

Tamara is just human and knows about magic I think.

Just like Mark from Empire Records, they've both accidentally stumbled on it. He wasnt to find his dad but I think she's just eeeeevil.

Quaffle Mon 12-Aug-13 19:42:51

I go from hating Regina to feeling sorry for her, to hating her again..... I actually cried when August was redeemed and he and his dad got their chance again blush

Quaffle Mon 12-Aug-13 19:44:19

....and I have to say I have NEVER seen a more convincing likeness as there is between Snow and her younger self! Genius casting!

Reality Mon 12-Aug-13 20:00:18

Wants, by the way, not wasnt.

Regina is an absolutely brilliant character. I love the fact no one's really bad through and through, they all have reasons for evilness.

I'm glad August and his dad were back in it last night though, I was wondering if they'd just been forgotten.

sneezecakesmum Tue 13-Aug-13 20:02:25

ooo its so interveaving grin Ditto re regina going from good to evil again! I love the way the characters are not one dimensional despite being for fairy tales.

Is Hook good or bad? Is he the 'one' or will it be neal?

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams Wed 14-Aug-13 00:01:10

Yes, I wondered where August had gone! We haven't seen Cinderella for months either.

I feel so sorry for Regina most of the time now, but once or twice I completely lose all sympathy for her. They play with your emotions so well!

Quaffle Wed 14-Aug-13 08:16:37

Hook is bad I think. He isn't the one.

Emma will either end up with Neal or the Sheriff/Huntsman will be brought back to life somehow and they'll end up together.

Reality Wed 14-Aug-13 08:18:18

I think Neal is PP...he said he knew Hook and he said he'd been somewhere else before LWM or he'd be hundreds of years old.

I even felt sorry for Cora in her flashback. I love how well drawn they all are, for such a bobbins bit of telly.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams Wed 14-Aug-13 08:53:19

Oh, I thought he was a Lost Boy. But PP would make sense...

smokinaces Wed 14-Aug-13 19:43:27

I love this programme, great easy watching fantasy tv. And love all the twists of characters. Can't work Tamara out though. Though I dislike her!

sneezecakesmum Wed 14-Aug-13 21:35:48

Yes Neal was persuaded to betray Emma by Hook, so maybe he is PP.

I can forsee mass confusion eventually overtaking all viewers, bit like that purple cloud grin

smokinaces Thu 15-Aug-13 18:07:21

I thought it was august who persuaded Neal?

Reality Thu 15-Aug-13 18:51:12

yy, August told Neal to leave her by showing him his typewriter that had typed paper saying 'I know you are Baelfire'.

sneezecakesmum Tue 20-Aug-13 20:40:24

Lord, now I AM totally confused grin

Was August working for someone or just being a generally naughty wooden boy?

sneezecakesmum Tue 20-Aug-13 20:41:19

btw. Have seen a trailer with the gorgeous Tom Ellis in it with a bow and arrow. Am saving episode to watch at the weekend smile

So far the only good looking one has been Robert Carlyle. Love it though.

FindingSanity Thu 22-Aug-13 16:26:11

Love it! How good is Robert Carlyle! I'm wanting to figure out who Neal's fiancee and her actual boyfriend are. Such an intriguing show! There's also been rumors that the way the family tree works and Cora/Rumple having had a relationship = Regina is actually his child despite what's been said. Not sure how they'd work it though. But as I've been watching, anything is possible with this show!

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams Wed 04-Sep-13 22:24:38

Just bumping because I've got very behind.

I've just watched Lacey, and am completely confused. Surely she didn't know who she was before, because the last time she was Lacey she was locked up in the hospital and didn't know who she was at all? I did like the line about "apparently with more alcohol" though grin

And then some of them are off growing beans, August's a child again, Regina's determined to find out what's going on, and Tamara (with the mysterious grandmother) and Greg are ripping each others' clothes off and have kidnapped Hook for some unknown region. confused confused confused

Hopefully I'll see the next two before Sunday, so be ready for the finale. I can't get any more lost, can I?!

LittlePocket Sun 08-Sep-13 13:13:40

Finale of season 2 tonight. I think Neale's a lost boy...but then again he appeared on Hook's ship - could he be Smee? Loads of circles say he's Peter Pan but I don't think so because I'm sure I've read somewhere Pan's been cast already and is in season 3.

BOF Sun 08-Sep-13 13:21:48

If Regina is Rump's child, then what relation is she to her (adopted) son? Aunt?

LittlePocket Sun 08-Sep-13 13:33:35

Yes, I think so BOF as that would make Neale her brother. I know Ariel and Tinkerbell are to appear in season 3 too. My guess is everyone's probably related to each other in this in a round about way somehow.

LillethTheCat Sun 08-Sep-13 14:27:36

Ive been watching this from the start, but am now very confused with this thread.

Is Neale the one who was with Emma, ie Henry's biological dad? If so then he is Rumple's son who wanted to live in a world without magic so he came here. He landed in London and lived with the Darlings for a bit, then went to Neverland. We dont know how he came back to our world just yet, but he did and met Emma and ran away when August threatened to out him to Emma.

Basically Henry's family tree is: Henry has mother Emma and Dad Neale/Bae.

Emmas parents are Snow White and Prince Charming

Neales dad is Rumple, mum is dead I believe.

Regina is Snow's stepmum so Emma's step gran and therefore Henry's step great gran.

Rumple is Henrys grandad. So Rump and Regina are not related at all are they?

LittlePocket Sun 08-Sep-13 14:43:03

I think Sanity is referring to when Rumple and Cora (Regina's mother) had a relationship and Rumple asked her to have his child. In the end she said no but did end up then having Regina with Henry SNR? Am I right? Tres confused myself. That would mean that Regina's not really Henry's SNR's bio daughter.

Confused.com myself.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams Sun 08-Sep-13 17:15:11

Lor' I'm lost on the family tree!

He definitely isn't Smee though, we've had him already. Rumple used him to test his potion over the town line, by dripping a bit on his red hat. It worked, and then something else happened, and I think Rumple might have turned him into a rat around the back of Granny's diner... something like that anyway!

INeedSomeHelp Sun 08-Sep-13 17:35:58

Ok I wasn't confused until I read this thread!
Was really sad last week when Neal got sucked away - although that doesn't mean he's gone for good on this programme!
Can't believe it's the season finale tonight it seems to have gone so fast.
Does anyone know if/when Once Upon A Time In Wonderland is showing in the UK?

cocolepew Sun 08-Sep-13 18:07:01

DD is watching an episode the moment, I'd love to know what lipstick Regina is wearing <shallow>

LittlePocket Sun 08-Sep-13 19:43:48

I forgot we already had Smee Polka, I'll go back to a lost boy for Neale then. On the basis of Neale/Bae's mother left him with his father then Rumple went and had been searching for him. I think he went off to Neverland because he didn't have any parents (anyone who cared) so to speak. Thus ending up a lost boy.

Anyone else a bit put off that August is now a little boy? I liked grown up August!

BlondieBear Sun 08-Sep-13 21:03:14

Yes I really liked grown up August. Very sexy. Can't wait for season 3.

BubbleBathFoam Mon 09-Sep-13 10:25:35

Can't wait for series 3. Am I getting the vibe of an evil Pan? Misundertood? Where was Neale washed up? Henry's importance and being the core of everything. So many questions.

If anyone's interested there's a trailer for series 3 on youtube.

INeedSomeHelp Mon 09-Sep-13 17:26:49

Just watched the Series 3 trailer - it looks great. Also watched the one for Once Upon a Time in Wonderland. I wonder if that will come on in the UK now that series 2 has finished?

WiddleAndPuke Mon 09-Sep-13 17:29:11

Pan is sooooooo freaky! Genuinely sinister! Can't wait for season 3!

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams Mon 09-Sep-13 21:28:33

Ooh, it looks good!

(Are you a Gerald Durrell fan WiddleAndPuke?)

BubbleBathFoam Mon 09-Sep-13 22:38:36

I had no idea about Once upon a time in wonderland! Ooh I'm itching to watch especially as there's crossovers. I'm guessing the crossovers are with series 2 and not 1?

INeedSomeHelp Mon 09-Sep-13 23:31:32

There must be a crossover with Cora as you saw her as the Queen of Hearts in Series 2 but I'm not sure what else. But it's all so clever - like when you saw Neal being found by Moulan etc. How do people think up these things?!

TukTuk Mon 09-Sep-13 23:49:42

I stumbled upon the Wonderland spin off over the weekend . GeekTown have it listed as The Unknowns - TV shows not yet picked up in the UK or no exact air date info but I'm sure Ch5 will show it .

So looking forward to 3

WiddleAndPuke Tue 10-Sep-13 07:58:33

Ooh can't wait for the Wonderland one!

Polkadots - yes grin

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams Fri 13-Sep-13 01:59:56

Could somebody post the trailer for series 3 please? I've only seen this little mermaid one.

Here's the Wonderland one, it looks good!

TheWinterOne Sun 15-Sep-13 16:07:18

I've completely missed loads of series 2 because of stuff going on. I caught the first episode but then would catch say episode 7 and be so confused so I couldn't watch it at 5 pace.

Over the last 2 days I've been watching it online so won't read too much of this thread. I'm on episode 11 I think. Greg's come to town and knocked over Hook - Belle was shot over the line.

Series 2 has not disappointed - as good as the first. I love Rumple.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams Sun 15-Sep-13 17:48:31

I was hoping they'd be able to fill in with OUATIW, but it doesn't start showing in America until after the new series of OUAT, so I think we'll get them both together next spring/summer.

If I've enjoyed these, do you think I'll enjoy Lost? I know the writers are the same.

WiddleAndPuke Tue 17-Sep-13 09:46:05

OUATIW looks amazing!

I was addicted to Lost for the first couple of series but it just went on and on and I lost interest. Have to admit I got a bit bored with OUAT for a couple of eps in series 2 but it picked up and now I'm hooked again (not to mention Hooked - how delicious is he? So disappointed his real name's Colin hmm)
