As there are, seemingly, several of us who think alike!

Does anyone have any links to him performing in that band?

Euphemia Sun 18-Sep-11 20:52:29

I don't fancy him, but there is no doubting his talent. He's a very gifted comic actor.

Kniternator Sun 18-Sep-11 22:21:55

I'll join you, he is lush. I especially love him as Dick Turpin. Yum.

Also love him in those couple of bits of Gavin and Stacey. phwoarr.

Someone posted on the current HH thread in chat that he's married with a baby. It must be a very new baby, because when interviewed on the Beeb as series 3 was starting (so May/June 11) he said he didn't have children. I suppose he must like his privacy, as there isn't much information published about him. But does anyone (authoritatively) know eg marital status?

meditrina Tue 20-Sep-11 19:54:03

Meditrina, they did a behind the scenes at HH and we got to see the guys 'rehersing' and chatting about their favourite numbers. All very much tongue in cheek.

meditrina Tue 20-Sep-11 20:09:39

Do you mean the green headband one? Rehearsing what? (Mind boggles!)

Collision Tue 20-Sep-11 22:02:57

marking my place here

LordOfTheFlies Tue 20-Sep-11 22:58:20

You can keep your Mathew B as long as you leave the orange shorts one for me (He did the O2 advert - Thinking of You )

meditrina Tue 20-Sep-11 23:06:47

Ranty - that link is FANTASTIC. But he really is very, very skinny!

LOTF: the faun (or whatever he was in the ad) is also in that link - in purple headband, orange shorts and electric blue tights. Are you sure about this?

LordOfTheFlies Tue 20-Sep-11 23:11:57

His dress sense (in that clip) is a bit ,erm, dubious.
But you know the George 6th song:
^Loved more women than I've had pies,but,
I couldn't stand my wife^

He has got the loveliest blue eyes and is really cute.

He is a streak of nothing isn't he grin

Was perusing You Tube and it is amazing how many fan vids there are of him, popular man.

He's so popular on here! What about an online chat with him??

LOTF, I am assuming you mean George iv smile

pinkhyena Wed 21-Sep-11 08:13:20

Marking my place for later smile

pinkhyena Wed 21-Sep-11 15:50:19

Jim Howick is the O2 ad guy. Bizarrely I find him more attractive in that ad, maybe I have a thing for hairy legs?

Not sure if Mat B is really into his privacy or he's just not well known enough for there to be loads of stuff about him? Could be a bit of both I suppose. He is/was in a band called Special Benny who have some nice chill out style tuuunes. Off to watch the Dick Turpin vid its been at least 6 hours since I saw it last.

JaceyBee Wed 21-Sep-11 16:04:15

I have a thing for pretty much all the HH guys, probably Ben is my fave though. Mathew is fantastic too but Jim is the real talent, he won a bafta for best performer. Well deserved.

Am slightly obsessive about HH as are the dcs. We listen to the songs every day.

Euphemia Wed 21-Sep-11 17:33:54

Get your filthy hands off Ben. angry

meditrina Wed 21-Sep-11 22:06:59
JaceyBee Thu 22-Sep-11 11:17:40

"Get your filthy hands off Ben."

Haha! It's cool, I don't mind sharing if you don't! wink

Voidka Thu 22-Sep-11 17:08:16

God I would, I love Mat.
Love all the songs, especially the Georges song and as Dick Turpin he is especially lush.

Voidka Thu 22-Sep-11 17:10:04

Jim does have a great voice - and I really like him as Richard III and the Shouty Man.

LordOfTheFlies Thu 22-Sep-11 19:09:38

Voidka you can have Mat B but I've deffo got first dibs on Victorian Shouty Man.

Boast Battle!

Euphemia Thu 22-Sep-11 20:16:33

JaceyBee OK, bagsy I Friday nights, starting tomorrow. wink

pinkhyena Thu 22-Sep-11 20:20:25

Is HH still on the cbbc channel?

That Dog Ears song makes me melt a little bit, its gawjus!

EdithWeston Thu 22-Sep-11 20:28:57

The 3 series are repeated periodically on CBBC, and the songs are often on the red button - that's how the DCs learned the Kings and Queens of England in order (and something of what each did). That's given them a sweeping view of the progress of English history into which they can fit the topics they do at school - and has led to an appreciation of 1066 and All That too.

melpomene Thu 22-Sep-11 20:47:07

You can sign me up too smile

Mat has been in a few music videos - here and here, and then there's this operatic number.

Greenshadow Thu 22-Sep-11 21:26:22

Pinkhyena - HH is currently on at 7.45 weekday mornings.

My DC are at secondary school and leave around this time, so I get it all to myself before I have to get ready to leave for work!

That Figaro thing is interesting. Will show my lot tomorrow as I think they will love that.

EdithWeston Thu 22-Sep-11 22:27:33

I love the Figaro!

JaceyBee Thu 22-Sep-11 22:37:47

fine euphemia but don't wear the poor boy out too much. I expect him fresh for saturday!

scaevola Thu 29-Sep-11 17:29:37

[[http://www.fanpop.com/spots/mathew-baynton/images/24930990/title/mathew-baynton-photo WTAF???]

And we will try that again

WTAF???

Jim is mine! Been chatting on twitter and loving his pictures from the filming of HH4

Waltraut Thu 29-Sep-11 19:48:14

Ben Ben Ben Ben Ben
Ben

scaevola Thu 29-Sep-11 20:22:19

I would have posted thanks for that link earlier, but words failed me...

Why didn't they match the merkin to hair colour?

That's what shocked me. Old lady boobs and old lady merkin???? I mean what was he thinking wink

scaevola Thu 29-Sep-11 21:38:09

But evidence that here is a multi-talented man who cannot possibly take himself too seriously, and who can convincingly act the part in any fantasy you could possibly have. What's not to like?

Hear! hear! grin

pinkhyena Fri 30-Sep-11 08:41:09

The dick Turpin song was on yesterday. He's even nicer in HD smile

Any one else want to just run their fingers through that lovely mop of hair?

SausageSmuggler Sat 15-Oct-11 18:24:14

Just a little bump for this thread, Mat is in a show on sky 1 called spy. He's lovely smile

Oooooh! Will go and see if I can find it. Thanks for the heads up.

SausageSmuggler Sat 15-Oct-11 20:44:26

There may also be a scene where he's just in his pants. I will admit he does need a few cakes to fatten him up a bit. I'll be happy to provide!

scarevola Sat 15-Oct-11 22:48:29

Rats - don't have SKY!

Scarevola log onto the Sky website and watch it.

SPY

I'm reserving judgement for the moment.

Greenshadow Fri 21-Oct-11 09:13:36

Just tried to watch it via Sky website as you suggested Ranty, but you have to pay if you aren't a SKY customer. sad

Oh! damn! sorry sad

TBH it wasn't brilliant and you aren't missing much. I will watch it a few more weeks just to see if it picks up. It is bad British version of Chuck but not quite, it's channeling several other shows as well and MB is the kooky friend.

LordOfTheFlies Fri 21-Oct-11 22:38:04

DD and I watch HH and count how often Mathew B appears with his top half uncovered.

blush

EdithWeston Fri 21-Oct-11 22:39:17

It's a lot, isn't it?

The hieroglyphics song is a very pleasing example.

Greenshadow Sat 22-Oct-11 15:07:21

Episode one of Spy now available on Youtube.

Cheers Greenshadow smile

AlmaMartyr Sat 22-Oct-11 17:51:53

Mat Baynton is back on Twitter now if anyone's interested wink @realmatbaynton.

SausageSmuggler Sat 22-Oct-11 21:06:18

I had a rather pleasing dream about him last night wink

BatmanLovesRobin Sun 23-Oct-11 15:21:55

I lurve Mat Baynton. He Looks Good in Eyeliner, one of my prerequisites for crushes. Which is odd because my DH would rather eat his own eyeballs than wear eyeliner.

piratecaaaaaaaaaghhht Sun 23-Oct-11 15:34:54

my dd9 had a massive crush on Jim Howick last year (must admit I think he's lovely too). She'd had a rotten time healthwise, (and issues with her absent father) and we watched loads of HH on dvd and online.

I wrote to his management company and he sent dd a lovely autograph, and a little letter to me too.

Lovely man!!

NiceViper Mon 09-Apr-12 10:32:43

I thought this might be worth reviving today.

Do we think he'll be in exciting britches today? Or the slightly disappointing paisley jumpers again?

Greenshadow Mon 09-Apr-12 13:17:05

Hi Viper - been anticipating today for far longer than is appropriate for someone of my age!

Really looking forward to it, especially the songs. Have you seen the Greek Thinkers song that they have released early?

oh lordy yes, totally in love. You know, in a CBBC way.....

My top favourites are the highway man, Shakespear and Charles II
