Anyone agree? I love Malcolm so much, it's just too good to be true.

shonaspurtle Wed 11-Nov-09 17:54:53

I do love it but I'm finding it harder to get into this series than the last for some reason.

I love it - DH having a tricksy day at work and my advice was to channel malcolm.

nigelslaterfan Wed 11-Nov-09 17:58:52

interesting shona, I've only seen two so am not fully there, I just love it so much.

best thing on telly by miles

Isn't it though?

I particularly loved the 'punch' last weekend, genius in the mildly restrained panic afterwards.

nigelslaterfan Thu 12-Nov-09 12:33:01

I just love it, the punch was so glorious and all the torturous behaviour afterwards, it's just so brilliantly childlike isn't it?
I just want to find a truckload of rosepetals and dump them at A Ianucci's feet! And Peter Capaldi's too!

orangina Thu 12-Nov-09 12:43:59

I have always been just a little in love with peter capaldi...

Fantastic show!

Really like the new minister played by Rebecca Front.

Am finding Oli much less likeable this series though. He's always been twatish, but seems to have lost vunerability of being the new boy that made him a bit more tolerable.

I love this show sooo much.

Just cannot believe it is on the same time as the only other thing worth watching atm (Match of the Day grin)

Did you see it the other week [to the driver] "make sure you get that cyclist, I think he's shadow cabinet". SOoooo funny.

Apparently people go up to Peter Capaldi in the street and ask him to tell them to fuck off!

heartofgold Thu 12-Nov-09 12:56:45

anyone else spot archie the inventor?

Ooh! I missed that heartofgold! Where did Archie pop up?

heartofgold Thu 12-Nov-09 13:01:13

he was the guy in the hotel last week who wasn't any of the regulars. can't claim credit for spotting him, i was arguing with dp all the way through that it wasn't him.

Prunerz Thu 12-Nov-09 13:02:03

I love it too.....PC is absolutely fucking brilliant in it. In fact I think I might watch it now [indulgent]

Ah, he was the press officer! Didn't recognise him with the beard.

Agree it is the best thing on TV. Have been using the line from episode 1 "I've got a to-do list here longer than a fucking Leonard Cohen song" daily since.

Clary Fri 13-Nov-09 00:13:42

hehe strawbezza
we need a quotes list

"The only other candidate is my left bollock with a smiley face drawn on it" grin

Oh yes definitely the best thing on telly at the moment but if I'm feeding DS it's a nightmare because when I laugh he breaks off and starts giggling. I end up biting my lip with tears running down my cheeks and my stomach aching.

One of the worst bits for that this week was Terri going 'undercover' in the anorak and the whole 'She tweets' 'She tweets on Twitter'. They're all so brilliant in their roles and Melanie Hill was great in it I thought.

Am feeding now and trying not to think about it because it'll set me off again...

nigelslaterfan Fri 13-Nov-09 12:43:00

I do actually weep with laughter and watch with my hands over my mouth in shock! I haven't even seen prog 2 yet!

Is it on tomorrow night?

ZephirineDrouhin Fri 13-Nov-09 12:53:08

Yes, fantastic. (And was also delighted to see Miles Jupp.)

Did anyone see Alastair Campbell on This Week last night? Michael Portillo was recounting how he had heard him shouting obscenities down the phone at journalists and threatening to withhold stories if they didn't print what he told them to print. AC looked furious.

Nice to see how faithful a portrait Malcolm Tucker really is.

OrmIrian Fri 13-Nov-09 12:55:27

Brilliant!

When I manage to remember it's on hmm

policywonk Fri 13-Nov-09 12:57:32

I don't think it's as good as it used to be <whines> - the insults are starting to feel a bit try-hard I think. They should bring Jamie back. Apparently the Opposition are going to be in this week's ep again, so that's good cos the guy playing the Tory shadow is fabulous

Iklboo Fri 13-Nov-09 13:00:32

Loved it when PC called Archie a 'Richard Stilgoe jazzy bastard' grin and something along the lines of 'I'll rip your balls off, draw eyes on, sew them on a sock and use that as a mouthpiece'

CJCregg Fri 13-Nov-09 13:10:50

My favourite ever quote (from In the Loop): Allow me to pop a jaunty little bonnet on your purview and ram it up your shitter with a lubricated horse cock!

Bad Language warning!!!

• Responding to knock at his door: "Come the fuck in or fuck the fuck off."

• Tucker's Law (out-take from the Spinners & Losers special): "If some cunt can fuck something up, that cunt will pick the worst possible time to fucking fuck it up cause that cunt's a cunt."

• To a pair of rival advisors: "Laurel and fucking Hardy! Glad you could join us. Did you manage to get that piano up the stairs OK?"

• Dressing down MP, Geoff Holhurst: "You're so back-bench, you've actually fucking fallen off. You're out by the fucking bins where I put you."

• Commenting on Ben Swain's disastrous Newsnight appearance: "All these hands all over the place! You were like a sweaty octopus trying to unhook a bra."

• Bollocking a communications department employee: "How much fucking shit is there on the menu and what fucking flavour is it?"

• Advising minister Hugh Abbot to keep up with the zeitgeist: "You've got 24 hours to sort out your policy on EastEnders, right? Or you're for the halal butchers."

• Note passed to assistant Jamie during meeting with blue-sky thinker Julius Nicholson: "Please could you take this note, ram it up his hairy inbox and pin it to his fucking prostate."

• Admonishing junior adviser Ollie Reeder to respect government property: "Feet off the furniture you Oxbridge twat, you're not on a punt now."
