Watch it.

I don't know whether it chills me more because I'm an atheist or not.

As for Terry Durham - he has a twin (Todd, same name as their dad - who also Terry's manager), who is utterly overlooked, it seems, because he's not been "anointed by God".

Well, I'm not going to watch it, but I'm familiar with the idea (and I've even seen things with some of these children before).

I'd just like to say that, as a fundy-Christian , I disagree with this kind of thing and find it completely unbiblical. Apart from anything else, the gospel is about the message, not about making much of the person giving the message.

Children are perfectly capable of having a genuine religious faith, but they should not be put in the kind of position where they can be exploited. My eldest daughter has a very inspiring faith, but there is no way I would be putting her in front of crowds and saying 'oo, look, isn't she anointed'. Because I'm many things, but I'm not mad.

It's scary stuff. Poor Terry is as much a vehicle for his dad and grandmother's greed as he is for God.

Why won't you watch it, Sue?

Hello Harpsi

Sorry Hunker I didn't think my post thru

Don't - I've only recently decided not to put it on here - you weren't to know!

It's a shocking programme though - anybody with a child a similar age will be appalled, I reckon.

I feel especially sad for Samuel - his parents believe to spare the rod is to spoil the child, so wallop him frequently - and he preaches outside abortion clinics.

It's child abuse, imo.

Only seen the ad for this on MN, but I'm glad I'm out and therefore unable to watch it.

I'm not going to watch it because I think it's on at the same time as Ashes to Ashes.

So I can combine saving my sanity and the sin of lust all at the same time

I find it absolutely sickening and I can envisage the whole show making all Christians - whether (normal) Evangelical or any breed (so to speak!) look like complete weirdos.

I am still in two minds as to watch it or not
