It seems to have vanished from the tv ...

I know - I hope it's coming back. Dd hasn't noticed but she'll be gutted when she does.

Virgin/Sky have been having some sort of altercation and Virgin have removed some Sky channels apparantly - but we're with Sky and I can't see why that would affect us.

I've got two very sad dds here now - they watched it almost exclusively

Nothing on Discovery website about it either - a bit of info wouldn't go amiss would it?

Too right. It's one of those channels where you know they're in safe hands. I love it too. Especially Crash Test Danny.

They answer all those awkward questions that I can never seem to remember what the anwer was and they demonstrate it without making a mess in your own house. Result!

Hope it's not gone for good.

Discovery isn't owned by Sky.

Isn't it? Oh, hope it hasn't got caught up in the Virgin dispute.

Grown ups Discovery was on mine earlier just not the Kids one.

I'm with Virgin and have a Virgin Medis logo on the Discovery Kids channel with a message saying

"channel no longer available"

I wondered about this when DS turned TV on this morning - did wonder if it was to do with the Sky thing. Hope they get it sorted - he loved the crocodile hunter and CR-8 (better than endless scooby doo!!!)

Apparently it is gone for good. Discovery have "replaced" it with Discovery Turbo (all about big boy racing machines etc).

I am incandescent . It was the only decent channel on tv for kids. No more Croc Files, Big Bang, Cre8 ... . Dds are totally gutted.

That not good news at all. What a shame - it was one of the best things on tv for children. They're mad taking it off.

How did you find out Miaou? I feel like moaning about that but don't know where to moan to.

kslatts posted earlier that it's not owned by Sky so maybe it's not down to them.

Ooooo I'm really disappointed - dd doesn't know yet. She'll be looking for it after school today

I know what you mean TinyGang - it would be good to know who to moan to. It was great to have such a good educational kids programme that kids actaully liked and put on themselves instead of some of the other stuff.

I don't know TG - dh found out via the web but I'm not sure where he got the information from. I think from what he said Discovery themselves have pulled the plug - probably not a big enough audience - doesn't that say a lot about UK kids who would rather watch Dick and Prick (oh sorry Dom)

I'll see if I can find out ...

as far as I can see, looking at the Discovery Website - it's now Discovery Kids on Demand - ie you watch it via the web - but they are only offering three programmes at the moment (and none of them are the ones my kids watch). here

Oh thank Miaou. I think dd likes the website anyway, so perhaps she'll take a look.

It's not the same though is it

Still...'hooray' at least we've got Discovery Tubo now. I'm sure that's going to be a big hit

Oh why oh why can't they just leave things alone
