How violent would you say it was exactly?

I don't want to know who goes. I do want to watch it for myself but have seen two separate people now say that it was disgustingly overly violent and extremely difficult to watch. These people are pretty different so I'm surprised they're saying the same thing tbh. Neither are particularly sensitive people.

Is it awful? If it's extremely gratuitously violent I might skip watching it and just read about it instead. But if they're overhyping the situation I'll watch it. I'm not particularly sensitive but wouldn't choose to watch someone being tortured for an hour...

I can happily cope with a lot of tv and film violence/gore but I did feel at parts it was gratuitous and unnecessary. Probably a bit overkill to say I was traumatised but definitely a bit 😦 after watching it.

V gorey even by their standards but only the 'essential' bits of violence if that makes sense?

It is very gory but for a short period of time, it isn't the whole episode by any means. There are signs that the gore is imminent if you want to look away.

yes, it is hard to watch in places, and I do feel sad after watching it. It has affected me trying to not give anything away

It is gory, normally I can handle most things but I did have to pause it at one point (and put my crisps away). But it wasn't the whole episode.

For me it was the most violent episode so far. It's the 15 minutes after the first set of adverts if you just want to skip that part.It was so sad,I cried and I've never cried at the walking dead.

Tbh still think the season 5 opener, terminus, about to have throats slit. .. Was gorier....

Tho the emotional impact of the gore was far greater in this episode..

It was violent and gory but a good episode. My 16yr old and I watched it while eating dinner so not too bad. I can't watch body fixer type shows without closing my eyes but was fine with this, if that helps any!

I'm watching it as I type. It's pretty gory but not unwatchable - I'm just looking away when it gets too much. I think the sound effects are the worst.

It was extremely brutal and violent. I've always loved horrors and haven't been affected by TWD before, but I couldn't watch it or even listen to the noise of the bat. It's really upset me and I found it quite disturbing. They showed every single blow of the bat and what it did to the person. It was really quite horrific. I don't think it was necessary either. It was very gratuitous. I actually didn't finish watching it, and I'm not sure if/when I will. I also now really hate Neegan with a passion.

I found it very tense and, although it is violent, it was the fear of what was coming next that made it hard viewing.

I would read a synopsis before watching if you are nervous. If you know what is (or is not) about to happen it will be easier.

There are two occasions of extreme gore, as in it beats all levels of WD gore. One of these occasions was a 'look away' moment. It didn't last long.

Then there was a period of 'walker-gore', which I generally take with a pinch of salt, although it borders on being a bit too much.

And then a scene which had potential to be gory but it wasn't. It was more about suspense.

The episode was quite dark (as expected) and sad (I cried Blush) but it changes everything.

It was the tension that bothered me more than the violence. If you have a fair idea of what is coming (which I would assume you do, having seen the cliffhanger of s6) then the violence is only what you are expecting.

Gore wise, I don't know how anyone who has been watching people wandering around slowly rotting and eating others alive for six seasons can be bothered by a bit of ick Wink Grin

The throat slitting at Terminus freaked me out more than this episode. This felt more expected

Have people forgotten Noah being eaten alive?

Thanks all for your input. I'm just done watching it and agree it was really pretty deeply upsetting. If it were to continue in that vein I'd probably stop watching tbh.

Watching it now - so sad, feeling sick and I'm in shock - I literally just said to dh I can't believe the extreme graphic content this episode

I was almost about to go out of the room and I have been dying to see this episode. It was nerve wracking and desperate as well as gory, I couldnt stand the tension and watched most of it from behind my hands.

I really didn't like it. It felt gratuitous and unnecessary. It was uncomforable, for me, and I'm not sure that I want to continue watching... I don't think I need to keep watching something that makes me sad.

Something to ponder. Maybe I'll see how it goes.

I remember being VERY disturbed by that beyondreasonable

This did feel gratuitous at times and what was worst for me was the chunk of flesh hanging from the bat boak

And worst of all was the obvious total emotional breaking of the group. Being left all night next to the remains and not being able to do anything during any of it. I found it all quite upsetting as it takes a special kind of evil to deliberately do that to another human - more than the throat slitting as that was relatively swift and organised. Not this random selection then sustained, brutal bludgeoning Sad
