I'm probably being a bit thick but can anyone explain something to me. I know a lot of programmes aren't "live" e.g. Bake-Off and X Factor because we see a bit of next week's episode at the end of the current one. DP says every episode is pre-recorded, and he's probably right but if so, how is the winner kept a secret as I'd have thought it would have been leaked.

What stops the families putting bets on when the shows go out as they obviously know the result as they were at the picnic?
