Did anyone watch? Was a huge fan back in the day!
They haven't changed a thing. Same theme tune same gags. What do people think?

I liked it a lot more than the other new series a year or two ago.

What sorts of age you think it's good for? I've a almost 13 year old who I think would love it.

Bring repeated tonight at midnight on Dave

The new one I've seen felt like classic Dwarf, with slightly naff but enjoyable jokes and all :)

Is it called Twentica?

I'm not at home so going to have to use the ap to record.

They're very lovable, even now they're older! Smile
I always wanted to be as cool as the Cat.

Really enjoyed it. Have watched pretty much since it started back in the late 80s and it's still great Smile

There was a slightly cheap feel about the sets and the general quality, but the comedy is as good as ever. Liked Kryten's nipples.

Always good to have Kevin Eldon in anything. Even heavily disguised as a baddy.

There was some very clever dialogue in there - 'how dense do you think i am?'

The live audience is a bit annoying but i bet they had a lot of fun.

Sorry I can't bear it. I grew up with red dwarf and loved it (even passed the love to my ds who loves the new series btw)but it's run its course. It's old and embarrassing -please stop !!

Apparently Danny John-Jules can still fit into the outfit he wore in the first ever episode! I think he's got a portrait hidden away somewhere.

I loved it when it was first shown (back in the last century) but unfortunately I don't find it funny any more. I don't think that the series has changed, I just think that my sense of humour has changed since I was a teenager.

DH (43) and DS1 (16) still find it hilarious, so my hypothesis is that the accumulative effect of oestrogen has modified my sense of humour.

Love it!! Me and DH are total red dwarf nerds and we both grew up with it!

The first few episodes of season 11 are so far making us laugh and cracking an affectionate smile when the theme music begins Grin

Good first episode (all I have seen so far).

It is amazing that it is still going, and apparently they also filmed a season XII? No doubt that will be delayed so it can be broadcast to coincide with the 30-year anniversary next year.

P.S. What iteration of Rimmer are we on now? There was the original man, then the hologram who eventually left to become Ace Rimmer, then the nano-reconstructed one. Are we still on the third or has he changed again? Or have I missed one :)

Also hope Holly comes back at some point.

Much better than the last few series, feels like they've recaptured the original feeling and spirit.

VashtaNerada · 10/10/2016 06:47

They're clearly trying to recreate the early episodes and pretend the last few series never happened! I like it. It's not amazing and the jokes are a bit tired, but it's a nice cozy feeling watching it.

Huge Red Dwarf fan here, and several past names of mine on here have been Red Dwarf related! Smile
I'm really enjoying the new series. I've been watching it ever since it first started back from series 1.
Series 1 - 6 were amazing. Can probably still quote every episode lol.
Lost its way from series 7 when the two writers split up. Just wasn't as funny. Series 7, 8, and 9 (9 being that mini series thing) just meh.
Then 10 and 11 they're nearly back on form. Smile
I don't usually hog the telly as there's nothing usually on, but Thursday nights 9pm if you want to watch something, tough shit you're getting elbowed out of the way lol.
Last week's episode Officer Rimmer was on a par with some of the earlier episodes.
