I'm low in mood, off work so have plenty of viewing time. I don't want anything too heavy/grim. I've just finished Call the midwife, that's about the level (obviously that's balanced with some sadness but overall is optimistic, unlike say Downtown which I started to dread!). I hate slap stick comedy!

I have Netflix and a ahem cracked fire stick. I've watched quite a bit like OITNB, How to get away with murder, Kimmy, PLL, Orphan Black...any little gems I've missed?

We watched The Fundamentals of Caring - a Netflix original film a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it. Maybe not exactly what you're after as not British or jolly hockey sticks but it was uplifting and a nice easy watch.

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is silly & fun but not slapstick. Pretty feel good stuff.

I've watched all of Kimmy Schmidt already! Love her optimism!

Another movie on Netflix is Brooklyn with ? Saoirse Ronan, Julie Walters etc. Based on novel by Colm Tobin? Set in Ireland and New York ?1940's. Nice simple story, bit of romance and period detail.

If you like dogs and are up for documentary then I can highly recommend The Champions. It doesn't dwell on the negatives too much and is lovely and uplifting.

Mmmm... do you like detectives? I love Endeavour and Midsummer murders. Poirot is fun with a very good period feel to it. They are repeating Upstairs|Downstairs, though it's towards the end now.

I loved crazy ex girlfriend, I didn't expect it to be so good. It's light and funny if that's what you want

Ooh plenty to keep me going!

Hello ppeat (tis, I, Faith from the Pauling threads). I do like detectives, I hadn't thought of going old school detectives but I like that plan!

jelly Netflix suggested that but I confess I'd dismissed it so I will have a look!

What about Agatha Raisin if you like detectives? Have you watched Suits - we've started it and are enjoying. We sometimes catch old Jeeves & Wooster (I think they're on ITV3) and I defy anyone to find anything lighter and more enjoyable than that.

Cannot believe no one has mentioned Jane The Virgin. It's an utter delight. Makes me laugh out loud but full of lovely feels.

I watched Agatha R because our friend is in it. IMO it's a bit glib.

Oh yes I lurrve Jeeves and Wooster with Stephen Fry (I don't usually like him but he makes a brilliant Jeeves Grin).

I second Jane the Virgin, hilarious and light but some really heart warming moments. I got through the first series in a few days!

Another vote for Crazy ex Girlfriend here. Great fun!

A bit different from what you said you like, but Stranger Things (on Neltflix) is bloody brilliant. Its a sort of homage to all those great 80's films like Stand by Me, ET, The Goonies etc. Its very weird, but in a good way! The acting is great and Winona Ryder is in it and is amazing. I binged it in 2 days.

At the other end of the spectrum is Grace and Frankie also on netflix. Gentle comedy drama about 2 older women whos husbands run off together! Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin. Great fun.

OMG Jane the Virgin. Season 2 finished here in Ireland the other week and I'm devastated that S3 isn't starting for months!

Sometimes I watch it with a big cheesy smile on my face, it's ridiculous.

Omg Crazy Ex Girlfriend is AMAZING. Really lovely and uplifting I think.

I don't think Stranger Things is at all, in fact I find the setting, era, clothes etc really dismal. I know loads of people love it but I'm only continuing to watch it because I have got this far (two more episodes to go). I think it's hugely overrated and Winona Ryder massively overacts.

Oops sorry for the derail! Yep CEG is the series for you op!
