This woman is a hero, 4 children under 3 including triplets, on her own. No wonder she's knackered!

She is amazing. How she's keeping a smile on her face I have no idea. I'd be on the floor with the kids, howling.

I'm not sure about pushing away a child that wants a cuddle, although I guess you just cant With 4 little ones

Cute kids too, and don't the dark-eyed, dark-haired girls look like her!

I agree Esmes... I'm not sure about it either ...The child is only little and the ratio is 1:4 parent to child...and it seems to go against the mum's instinct

NeedACleverNN · 10/08/2016 20:25

She can't carry them about all day though can she. Not with 4 of them all demanding attention.

Even a cuddle on the sofa is hard work. Two at a time yes but all 4? Impossible

No you're right, she can't. How tough for the mum

dancemom · 10/08/2016 20:27

She's not wanting a cuddle though, she wants picked up. When mum sat down she did cuddle her.

Can't imagine 4 under 3, even most childminders don't have that!!

Do the boys sleep downstairs?

Report
NeedACleverNN · 10/08/2016 20:28

If I had 4 under 3, I think I would skip drinking the alcohol and go straight to having on a drip. Especially as a single mother. Poor woman

I think she's doing brilliantly. Honestly, I'm in awe.

I have only two children, and my husband has always been fully involved and hands-on, but the first year of having two nearly broke me.

Oh his little face when he shows that bottom lip Sad

Good on you girl!

wow poor woman! I take my hat off to her! I've got to be honest, I was nervous watching her walking down the high street. It only takes one of them to run off into the road! I would get a double buggy or a buggy board at the very least! (i work in childcare so am used to these ages!)
but wow... fantastic mum

Report
EsmesBees · 10/08/2016 20:50

I can't imagine how tired she must be. Working in the evenings too!

The approach is just a bit black and white for me. No carrying while out with the buggy, fair enough, but never being picked up ever at 2.5? However, as said upthread, maybe that's what needs to be done with a 1:4 ratio.

Rosie is bloody brilliant. Respect.

I did have to stop carrying my eldest just after ds was born. I have a bad back and can't carry anything too heavy and she was just too heavy. She as just under 2 when he was born and we began to phase it out as much as we could. By 2.5 she wasn't carried. We pick her up for a cuddle or to help her up/down somewhere but she isn't carried anymore and she doesn't ask to be carried either

FIL annoyed me at the end of last week's episode when he made a judgy comment after the narrator said she was a single mum with 4 kids under 3, I told him he shouldn't be so judgementalAngry

I'm glad I was right. She seems so lovely. I struggle with my 2 dc, I have no idea how she manages to keep a smile on her face with 4. Regarding the picking up, I think it's more about breaking the habit, especially as it's only the one child she tends to pick up, it's not really fair on the others. I'm sure there will be occasions where they all get picked up at some point and the nanny never said anything about not cuddling them.

I thought it was quite a good episode, they seem like a lovely little family. I hope things work out for her in the future.

Why would you carry a 2.5 year old - They're heavy and you can do things like Need says - I may help her get up/down or give a cuddle but I don't do picking up or carrying!

This poor woman, looks so tough. I'm watching on 4 plus one. I'm guessing the 15 month old was a happy accident.
