Anyone watching Wentworth Prison?

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone else has been watching Wentworth Prison on 5*? No one I know seems to have heard of it but I'm addicted! It's a modern day remake of Prisoner Cell Block H and it's absolutely fantastic!

Yep have watched every single series and it's amazing, so underrated here. Much better than OITNB.

Yeah, I totally agree with you there! I think Australian shows struggle to get recognition over here, which is a shame because Wentworth really is brilliantly done. It's much more realistic than OITNB and I think it's a better portrayal of a prison environment.

I heart this programme. The season 3 finale was one of the most gripping and satisfying bits of telly I've ever seen.

Yeah the finale is best piece of television I've seen in a long time. Couldn't wait to watch it on 5 so watched it Australian pace. Think that's why the ratings haven't been great for 5 as most of the die hard fans download the eps screened in Australia. If they screened them on the same week I think they would find the ratings would be a lot better.

Does anyone have a favourite character? I absolutely love Bea! Danielle Cormack is a fantastic actress and Bea's character development has been so exciting. Ferguson is a great character too.

Ooh hello! I love Wentworth, one of my favourite shows! Looking forward to tonight's episode.
My favourite character is Boomer, she's hilarious, although the scene with Maxine last week nearly made me cry Sad

Love it love it love it!!! Love all the characters and Bernard Curry is in this series. Loved him from Neighbours when I was younger and he hasn't aged but his character seems to be a bit of twat! Glad it's moved to a Tuesday. I hate Tuesdays with a passion but this makes it slightly better. That and my other guilty pleasure - River City (don't judge!).

It was so explosive last night. I haven't really liked Kaz so far but now she's seen Ferguson's true colours I'm excited to see where it goes. I hope Bea is ok!

My favourite character is Vera, I just love her awkwardness, the actress plays her really well.
Did anyone watch the original prisoner cell block h?

Vera is a great character - she gets a lot of stick but I think she's a great governor. I wish she'd let her hair down a bit and let people into her life though! :(

I'm a massive prisoner cell block h fan.

Chrissie became pregnant after getting transferred to another prison after killing mr Jackson. He was killed in a riot right at the start like Meg was in wentworth. It was an officer at another prison who got her pregnant. Then she was transferred back to wentworth. And put in the block where Mrs Jackson worked...

Loved Prisoner Cell Block. Used to watch it with my pal. Rewatched them on you tube last year.
