Will they ever make as good a series again as Mad Men? I have just re-watched all the seasons back to back and it was just so great wasn't it? I found a fab blog called "Tom and Lorenzo - Mad Style" and it goes into how the set and costume designer dressed them to reflect their moods and current life events with colour themes and motifs.

And Pete was the best, though I know that is controversial Grin.

Ahh, Twas great wasn't it?

Tom and Lorenzo blog is brilliant. If you've only just found it, you have many happy hours of reading ahead of you! Grin

I have read it all. Have also found the tv reviewer for the NY times - Emily Nussbaum, she is pretty good on it as well, though didn't write enough imo!

"A thing like that!"

I think it was my favourite TV series ever. I loved everything about it. Would love to know how the characters turned out - how did the 70s work out for Sally. What happened to Pete in the end, I can't remember?

He got back with Trudy and they moved to Wichita with his new job for Lear Jets.

Ahh mad men, loved it, I lost a week watching them all back to back last month.

Pete camble, I swung from really hating him to liking him, like a pendulum.

I found the last episode so sad, Don sitting crossed leg on a hill Sad

But he is going back to create the Coca Cola ad campaign, I really loved that ending.

I know, but some how that made it sadder for me.

I went of and googled the add writer after mad men. it was written by Bill Backer and he worked for that add company. (I'd thought it would have been a fictional name).Sorry for the trivial drivel

Such a good show. I think Peggy is my favourite but Pete did become a likeable person towards the end which is testament to the writing.

Also, Jon Hamm!

I love how they turned it about. At the beginning his relationship with Don was very fraught and he was gunning for him, even though he always saw him as kind of a father figure. But at the end it was Don, Pete and Peggy - a little gang and Pete was always on Don's side.

Yes Peggy is my favorite, I was so glad to see her happy at the end.

The writing was so well done, in the way the put across, the way people thought and spoke at the time, but without it being 'in your face'
My DF was impressed with the level of detail put into the program, like the way you handed out cigs. He said with the old soft packets there was a knack to shaking the packet to get out how many cigs you needed to offer. So if you had two people in your group you had to shake it a certain way so three cigs appeared, you offer them then took the last, DF Said he could do 1,2,3 but for 4 he'd quite often end up with all the cigs flying out the pack.
I wonder how long it took the actors to master it?
