This BBC show ran from 2003 to 2015. I heard about it only very recently – quite possibly it was mentioned here, but, if so, I can’t find who it was and Advanced Search isn’t helping me at all.
Since then, I’ve discovered that it’s all over the place – on alibi and Drama, and now on BBC1 tonight at 9 pm. I’m recording every episode I can find.
I love it. But I should point out that it’s not just because there’s good plots, but also that there’s a strong woman very effectively leading a team of men, who are all retired police detectives. As I’m in the same age bracket, it’s good to see characters who still have that essential spark despite the wrinkles.
Fascinating to see Nicholas Lyndhurst (Rodney of “Only Fools and Horses”) being all posh and knowledgeable and very smartly dressed. And Dennis Waterman still has that certain, ahem, “appeal”, as he did back then on “The Sweeney”.
