I have just finished all of Good Wife and I'm not too sure what to make of the ending, would have loved some closure haha...

What did everyone else make of it?

Have not seen the last episode yet as it doesn't air in Uk until next Thursday.
I've starting watching from the start again.
I noticed how much of an ungrateful cow Alicia is to her MIL in season 1.
With Peter in prison and Alicia now at work, MIL was doing childcare. Alicia would phone and ask her to stay later - until about 11 o'clock! Then Alicia would be really rude to her and the kids would be pretty unappreciative too.
I didn't like Cary the first time around but am on second viewing.

I want to watch from the beginning soon!
I've always thought that haha...

I'm still not over Will dying but I'm loving this Jason/Alicia relationship, a lot of people have said they don't though

I'll be back once I've watched the last episode. Smile

I really lost patience with the show as the seasons went on. I never really "got" the supposedly great love between Alicia and Will, and thought his murder was cliché crap. Maybe I don't have a heart Grin!

All the back and forth of people moving between firms/who was partner etc got pretty tired, and Cary's storylines were really boring. I feel like the tone was pretty weird in the last two seasons.

Diane remains a total treasure throughout though, and I was really pleased she slapped Alicia! I love the episodes with Louis Canning and Patty Nyholm.

I've finished it, I hated the last episode, such a fucking cop out, I did not invest 7 years for them to end it like that.

The Will & Alicia thing was dragged on for far too many seasons, I was actually glad it ended. I had to force myself to watch S7 out of loyalty to how amazing S1-5 was. Alicia's always been a bitch to her MIL, but we're not suppose to care.

Cheeseinthetrap - I know, I felt really let down by the last ep as well... is it really really really the last one?

By the way, am I the only one that found Alicia dirty talking just a tiny bit cringy?

Crunchy, Alicia's dirty talking was just cringe, wish I'd never seen it. There are rumours of a spin off centred on Diane, but I don't think I can trust the Kings after that ending, so disappointed.

I really want to know what went down between the actresses that play Alicia and Kalinda, what could have been so bad that they refused to even film their final scene in the same room.

This season really felt like it was less of an ensemble show & more Alicia centric, Cary was amazing in S6, I really wish he had more to do, I didn't like how they wrapped up the whole David Lee & Cary v Diane storyline line, it never really gained any momentum or excitement but I was hoping they were going somewhere with it.

And I hate Peter, so focusing on his stupid case, was just painful for me but I preservered only to get that ending, I know I'm taking it far too personal.

The only good things about this season to me were Grace, who knew annoying Grace could be so damn resourceful & Eli Gold, I would kill to watch a show based on just Eli.

Any advice on where I can get Serues 1-3? Don't have Netflix so will I have to buy the DVDs?

You can get it on Amazon Prime.

There's also Kodi and the extension called Exodus. You'll have to use your laptop (or a device that plugs into telly or amazon firestick) Exodus literally has everything. It's probably not legal.

Apparently there is a spin off with Diane and the other lady who was Alicia's partner.
I didn't understand the ending until I googled it! It ended with Peter being disgraced standing at the podium with Alicia - exactly like the first episode. But in the first episode she stands next to him whereas in the last episode she walks off - this is supposed to show her journey from being 'a good wife' to becoming her own person.
Although I don't understand the slap from Diane. Or the purpose of that dubious private investigator that she was in 'love' with, really?

By the end of the series, Alicia was my least favourite character. I'd heard the rumour about a spin-off but it was on the radio just as I was waking up. I thought they said Diane and Eli but I suppose that was just wishful thinking. Sad

I liked Will and Alicia in the early seasons. They were both very passionate about the law and had great chemistry. Once it was over the whole back and forth got boring.

I've not really enjoyed it since Will died. The death was an interesting plot device, and it's not like I was so sad to see the character go. I think that was just a bit of a turning point for the show's quality. I do rather fancy Josh Charles too.

Diane is a bloody awesome character though. We need more strong, older women on TV. I was sad to see her so upset about her husband. She's better than that.

A few episodes ago we had Happy Diane.

Diane deserves some happiness.

The world will be sadder for her absence.

I'm now up to the end of season 4 - Alicia has just been made equity partner.
Lockhart Gardner are arseholes as an employer. The partners are complaining that the 4th year associates are taking annual leave! The assistants are upset that they don't get decent maternity rights and a bit of flexible hours and are paid less than other firms.
The partners are talking about firing them - meanwhile Alicia gets $10k to decorate her new office. Wankers.

I don't get the last episode of her making a choice between husband and Jason - I thought she was well over husband years ago?

I think this series really lacked some of the secondary characters because they were giving so much time to Lucca.

I'll miss Eli so much!

I kinda want to watch it over again to see the great years with Will, and when Nathan Lane was in it cos I love him!!!

dingdongdigeridoo · 25/06/2016 00:47

I don't think she would have chosen her husband in a romantic sense. It was more that she had to decide whether to leave him and lose the security that came with being married, or take the plunge and have a proper relationship for the first time in years.

The way it ended made me think she'll go back to Peter. It was a horrible ending. I wish they hadn't made her so unlikeable.

I was on her side for so long but this last series she went so hard it was difficult to care.

I kind of liked the fact that she was so difficult to warm too. The conversation she had with the prosecutor character when he said he had met her years before when her children were small, I loved that scene. When she said "shall I smile demurely" (paraphrase) and she put on that light up a room smile showed how she had been acting for years. She wasn't a Good Wife, she was as hard as steel and as ambitious as Peter. It kind of made me warm to her even more. There were so many moments of terrific acting in The Good Wife and that was one of them. It was a great scene in a wobbly finale.

I hated the ending. Alicia was awful . She obviously had Kurt, Diane's husband investigated and found out about the affair, or they just played fast and loose and gave it to Lucca to use in her argument . I don't think the old Alicia would have done that . Eli was brilliant ,I love how he was plotting to take Alicia to the dizzy heights in political life , as Peter was now a has been. Alicia should have been with Finn. The episodes with him in it were really "sparky". At first, I really enjoyed the flirting between her and Jason but in the later episodes it was embarrassing . He just had one look and that was smug. All in all a disappointing ending to a brilliant series.
