has anyone been watching Agatha Raisin on sky 1?

Just that really. I loved the books and not sure of the series. I really don't see Ashley Jenson as Agatha. To young, slim and blonde!

Yes, I'm watching it. Agree that Ashley Jensen is nothing like Id imagine Agatha to look from the books. I like her though.

Based on the books (I read eight or nine of them) I imagined Agatha to be closer to retirement age. And in the books she complained of feeling unglamorous. Which doesn't quite match.

Yes I agree. Thought she was more like late 50s after having a successful career. Suppose no one would want to watch it if not glamorous.

I've not read the books but I quite enjoyed it. Light hearted enough for me at 9pm (when my brain is a bit foggy).

Ive never read the books and quite enjoyed the one off episode but thought last weeks series opener was dire , not sure I will bother with the rest .

Yes I really wasn't sure about the casting still not Ashley is far too young.

I got in to the series by the radio series where Penelope Keith plays Agatha I just think the TV series has her to young to retire and play with cats (chivers)

Yes I always thought that Agatha was in her 50's, but I do like Ashley apart from that.

I read one of the books and thought it was dreadful. Have recorded the first programme in the hope that it'll be better than the book.

I've avoided it as although I love Ashley Jensen, Agatha Raisin is a Brummie! I don't get why they've got a Scottish person playing her.

I enjoyed the pilot too, but not really enjoying the series at all. Can't quite put my finger on why. I think the fact that none of the characters are particularly likeable has a lot to do with it!
