I'm resisting the temptation to watch the 2am airing this week. I'm in hospital for a GA and minor procedure tomorrow and being able to watch the new episode of GoT is going to be my reward for being brave Blush

It's going to be tough to resist though........

Thank you !
DO NOT read this if you don't want to know.

The Wights killed Summer and Hodor.
The nights king killed bloodraven.
We finally know why he only ever said Hod or Sad

We also now know that Bran can "speak" to people in the past for certain.

Trionic All the best Flowers

EverySongbird Thank you for the shiny new thread.

Is it too cheeky to ask those who have watched the episode alreasy which door the title refers to? Or is it too much of a spoiler?

Bloodraven Sad He was our only hope against the white walkers. The one man with his head screwed on the right way.

Who was blood raven?

Ah the dire wolves are dropping like flies..

Report
PreviouslyMal · 22/05/2016 15:13

Bloodraven = the 3 eyed raven/ Max von Sydow. The old man teaching Bran.
The storyline is really moving on now.
The net stream is very dark so I'll be watching it tomorrow on Now TV.

I knew those children of the forest were a bit dodgy, but creating the night's king ?

NeedACleverNN · 22/05/2016 16:04

I feel lost now

Nights King? Or is that shown in the new episode?

NuggetofPurestGreen · 22/05/2016 17:01

Oh god. I actually feel shakey after that. Summer! Hodor!!!!!!!!

NuggetofPurestGreen · 22/05/2016 17:08

I simultaneously want to watch that last few minutes again and never watch GoT again

Report
PreviouslyMal · 22/05/2016 17:15

I know !

Night's king = head honcho of the undead , the one who turns the babies into blue eyed wights and who eyeballed Jon Snow at Hard home.
I was surprised at the part that showed the Nights king being created - the legend was that it was one of the Nights watch who was turned by a "white Queen" ( he was a Stark iirc) .

NeedACleverNN · 22/05/2016 17:17

Aaaaaaaah thank you for clearing that up.

Do we know what happens to the blue eyed babies yet? Do they stay as babies or do they grow up to be white walker soldiers

Max Von Sydow!! Poor Tree Woman!!!

Loved Sansa in that episode. And Tormund giving Brienne the glad eye.

Report
PreviouslyMal · 22/05/2016 17:37

Yes, Sansa giving Little finger what for, I would love her to be the one who kills Ramsay, but I can't see it.

Brienne had some amusing lines, made me laugh anyway.

Can't wait to see what's going to happen with Arya, I just want her to go rogue and go and dig up needle, she needs to be with Jon and Sansa ( and team up with Gendry on the way)

NuggetofPurestGreen · 22/05/2016 17:51

Brienne was brilliant. "A bit brooding...I suppose it's understandable considering" Grin

EllaHen · 22/05/2016 18:08

Tormund giving Brienne the eye made me chuckle.

The Hodor scene was really, really emotional.

Thank you PreviouslyMal I went on Reddit and read the spoilers Blush Poor Hodor Sad

Bran, [sigh] I am trying not to swear, although I am not even sure what he did.

It does make sense that the Children of the Forest created the white walkers. They always seemed regretful and overly helpful in present day. It was quite a bloody war. Now I have to read up on it in World Book. The Starks and Winterfell were somehow the peacekeepers after the peace treaty I am sure.

The Nights King in the book is definitely not the same as the one in the show. The Long night was 5,000 (?) years ago and the Nights King was the 13th Lord Commander of the Nights Watch, so he was after the war and the peace treaty. Nights King was just a cool name to easily identify the baddie in the show.

But if the white walkers are going after the First Men descendants, does that mean that the Andal and Valyrian houses are safe? Or are they just going after anyone with a warm pulse?

I do not like the Sansa storyline. Did she only pretend to change to Jon, or is she protecting Jon from Littlefinger? If it is the first, she is dead to me.

EllaHen · 22/05/2016 18:24

Yes, the episode was a bit Bran heavy. Or, as dh said repeatedly - all Bran.

Report
TormundGiantsbabe · 22/05/2016 18:30

Ooh nice theory NorthRemembers re going after only descendants of first men. They let Samwell go - he's from the reach, not the north so presumably no (or very little) first men blood in his veins.

SerJorahsSecondChoice · 22/05/2016 18:31

I haven't seen it yet but am a weak, weak woman - why did Hodor only say Hodor?

Report
SerJorahsSecondChoice · 22/05/2016 18:35

Also, I'm starting to think Ghost's days are numbered (although yes, I know Nymeria's still likely to be alive).

SerJorah, PreviouslyMal said it means "HOld the DOoR" and it is to do with Bran warging him.

From the World Book p12
"How the Long Night came to an end is a matter of legend, as all such matters of the distant past have become. In the North, they tell of a last hero, who sought out the intercession of the children of the forest, his companions abandoning him or dying one by one as they faced ravenous giants, cold servants, and the Others themselves. Alone he finally reached the children, despite the efforts of the white walkers, and all the tales agree this was turning point, Thanks to the children, the first men of the Night's Watch banded together and were able to fight - and win - the Battle for the Dawn: the last battle that broke the endless winter and the Other felling to the icy north. Now, six thousand years later (or eight thousand as True History puts forward), the Wall made to defend the realms of men is still manned by the sworn brother of the Night's Watch, and neither the Others nor the children have been seen in many centuries."
