Did anyone watch this?

I really enjoyed the Getting On series and had high hopes for this, but it was a bit of a disappointment IMO. Omid Djalili a good choice for Dave, but he doesn't do gloomy and pensive very well. Utterly ridiculous scenes with the taxi being loaded up with Kim's client, son, grandbaby and dog whilst the passenger was still in there. But a few glimpses of the brilliant observational stuff about living life on a low income and how vulnerable people are looked after.

Only two more episodes, so I will stick with it.

I was watching Smile
I loved Getting On - the most accurate portrayal of working in the NHS that I have ever seen Grin and whilst I enjoyed Going Forward it wasn't as laugh out loud funny, maybe because Patricia Scanlon wasn't involved or maybe because it was away from the ward. I liked the 'using up the Internet' conversation but agree that them all piling in the car was just silly. I'll persevere though, I'm looking toward to the elderly mother turning up Grin

I agree, I quite enjoyed it but it wasn't a patch on 'Getting On'. I really missed a lot of the characters from that - Joanna Scanlon as Den(?) and especially the doctor played by Vicky Pepperdine.

I found it disappointing. The scenes with Omid and the other driver were rather boring, and although I didn't expect lots of laughs, there were too few amusing moments, and I'm not sure if I'll keep watching. Such a shame because I loved Getting On, and I really like Jo Brand.

Liked it a lot. Not quite as good as Getting On, which was hilarious but I think this was good in terms of showing the stress of looking after old parents and kids and trying to hold down a job. And then making it amusing.

I think Den and Dr Pippa provided a lot of the humour in getting on; I'm hoping Dave (and possibly Kim's mother) might fill that breach. Fingers crossed!
