This episode focuses onAmanda Lewis who was convicted of murdering her daughter on the sole witness testimony of her 7 year old son, who says he saw her drown his sister.

I'm watching it now. That poor boy, having to testify against his mum. It was so upsetting when he didn't recognise his mum.

He looks spaced out like it's all a dream, how crazy for him to do that! I don't know with this woman, she looks broken, but she didn't smile when talking about her

I can't believe they let the boy go to court
That wouldn't happen here would it ? It'd be by video link ?
I think she did it, there was physical evidence and surely they wouldn't just take the boys evidence I to account

I don't know what to think. Initially I thought...my god, maybe the little boy got all caught up in it and just went along with it....she did pass the lie detecter..

I cried when he realised it was his mum...he looked heartbroken

I feel for her too if I"m honest...doesn't seem as though it was deliberate (if indeed she even did it)

This is so sad. I'm in tears. Poor little boy and poor mum if she is innocent

At first I felt desperately sad for her, she looks like a broken woman, and I know 7 year olds, they don't always tell the truth and wouldn't always understand the seriousness of it. On the other hand the house was a state and stank, and if things happened how she said, she left them in the garden with a pool, so I don't know how I feel about her

I just hope that boy doesn't grow up to be a born liar. Not sure what to think tbh

But the marks on the girls face would be from an adult hand wouldn't they ? How reliable are lie detector tests ?

Report
gingerboy1912 · 18/05/2016 22:05

Was the hand mark done at the time of death?

Report
Lilaclily · 18/05/2016 22:05

Yes to push her down in the water :-(

Report
Lilaclily · 18/05/2016 22:06

He wouldn't be able to hold her down anyway ?

Report
gingerboy1912 · 18/05/2016 22:06

Just wondering if the marks could of been done at a different time of that day.

I also don't know how to feel about this one, I believed she done it but then she passed the lie detector so I really can't say either way! The bruises to her head would suggest something happened but whether it was what we think we will never know!
I literally cried when the little boy saw his mum in court and broke down it was so so sad, I wanted to give him a hug!
I wondered whether they would show him now he is older but I guess they can't as he was adopted!? What a scary life for him to deal with at such a young age, the condition of the house was awful too and as a pp said if her version was true she left two young kids around a pool alone, which questions her thought process that that time!

From the net
In her mind she may have held the child underwater only long enough to frighten and punish her and was shocked to find she had killed her. That might be enough to fool a lie detector.

Also says she had a 16 month old who died from an unexplained seizure Sad

Mmm not sure I believe Rhonda

They found no toys in the house, she said she took them away for a week at a time as a punishment and they were in the shed but when they searched the shed they weren't any

I can't really see the point of the show, obviously the women think it'll help them get out if people believe them but what are we meant to be getting from piers' interviews ? We're not really getting into why they do it as they're all saying they didn't
It's like a true crime documentary
