DH says he looks like the cat in the hat on CSI, we have great fun trying to do the sunglasses on looks he does at the end of every episode! He is such a terrible actor - but strangely addictive to watch (maybe the ginger hair has some hold on me?!)

I insist on trying to replicate his 'sunglasses' moment whenever it crops up (generally at the beginning as well, just before the credits roll).

Random example:

OTHER CSI-ER: They were just looking for a good time.
HORATIO: Yes. But this time. [sunglasses] It was murder.

Wwwwwaaaaaaah-credits.

Classic.

Did you see when his far too beautiful but strangely thick wife of convenience died? He sat on the side of the bed and angled his head to look at her in that weird way he does. PMSL, it was supposed to be a touching moment but it was so wrong in so many ways. Gotta love 'im! And if we all remember this far back - he was in NYPD Blue and left over a pay dispute (he felt he was worth more than they did), went on to have a terrible movie career, got panned by critics all over and then popped up in CSI. He's certainly no Grissom, but I do watch him religiously.

Ooh no, I haven't seen CSI Miami of late (kind of thought they were all repeats, but obviously not!) - have missed a classic head angling moment, gutting!

ginge - I have to say that he didn't look like a man in love to me at all.

It was this season's finale (love that term!) on channel five a couple of weeks ago. It went all Rambo (- he was obviously remembering those special days!) and him and the dead bride's brother (the Hispanic CSI) are going vigilante in the next series, because she was murdered for being H's wife (or some other stupid plot).

There was no love there, none at all! I agree Iota. Or maybe that was his love face?...

My dp is convinced i fancy him! I don't but he fascinates me with his weird acting ways

I have been watching loads of CSI (all three ) recently and haven't a bloody clue which episode goes in which series. The ones on living are obviously repeats as Speedle is still in them. The ones on 5 US are new - i think.
Anyway, in answer to the OP, i cannot stand Horatio. I think it's the sunglasses thing, and the way he stands. He never stands straight at people, he is always standing at right angles to them, with his head on one side, and his specs in his hand, a bit like a parrot who has fallen of his perch.
Now, Mac Taylor, from CSI New York, is a different matter, like him.

No, Five US are all repeats.

New seasons of Vegas and New York starting on 5 at the end of January.

Grisham from original csi is just a dorky geek and the new york guy is annoying, cant think of anything better than annoying!

I'm with you Saltire, totally lost track with Miami, everytime i watch one it seems to be one I've seen before!

He was also in Hill St Blues playing the leader of the 'Oirish' gang - he looked about 12!

Love CSI Miami though

Another sunglasses moment:

Criminal: I guess that's case closed [smug look]
Horatio: Here at Miami Dade [sunglasses] we never close!

Credits!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've also noticed how he assures every victim that he personally will track down the criminal.

No, no, no Horatio is AWFUL. I have to shout obscenities at the screen every time I see him. He can't act at all, loves himself far too much and generally seems to be a bit of a w**ker, singlehandledly solving every murder in Miami. He was crap in NYPD Blue as well, glad he left as the rather gorgeous Jimmy Smits then took over [drool].

I have to say Jimmy was a more than adequate substitute in NYPD!

I wept and wept and wept when Bobby died!

MIL reckons Horatio is a "stupid dum dum" (in appropriate chinese accent) - which cracks me up.
