I'm obsessed! The Marnie episode and the shoshana one the week before were just so good. I can't really stand hannah now. What's happened to her? Am totally buying the adam and jessa combination though.

Yay! I am not alone! Hannah just seems so negative at the moment and I can't imagine she's going to stay with fran much longer, then she'll find out about adam and jessa....
Did you recognise Charlie in the last episode? It took me ages to work out it was him! So glad Marnie finally came to her senses about her husband, he was such an idiot.

Me!
Am loving this season, much better than last. How good was the first episode- the wedding? I'm team Adam, not team Fran...
Love Shoshana, she's my fave.

Yes! Am loving this series - loving Shoshana in Tokyo and how great was the Marnie episode last week? Glad she dumped the whiny husband

MrsJamin · 03/04/2016 20:54

Utterly agree jcee, it totally made me want to go to Tokyo! Her Japanese was very cute. What's going to happen with her and the guy she left in NYC? I reckon she'll be with him for a week and then realise he wasn't enough for her.
SO will Marnie get back with Ray and finally make him forget about the trendy new coffee shop competition?!
This series has been so good and everything else so bad on TV I've been watching every episode twice Confused

Argh I've been waiting for someone to start a thread (lazy me!). Love this show. That Marnie episode was great - actually made me like her!

I secretly hanker after a Shoshana/Ray reunion...

Do you have netflix, I've just finished watching love, which is great and very funny once you ignore that the female lead is Mimi Rose Howard

MrsJamin · 03/04/2016 21:21

I don't have Netflix, just sky. Ray is so lovely, but kind of dull, I'm not sure who'd appreciate him most, shoshana or marnie.
Is anyone else a bit confused about adam now he's been kylo ren?! I think he's a bit of a sweetheart now considering he was a right prick in the first season.

I just love this season. I actually like Hannah - I don't know if I could handle her as a best friend though, she is hard work but she is having a hard time with her parents right now. I thought Marnie was the worst but the episode with her and Charlie was just lovely (and heartbreaking).

Is everyone up to date and can we talk freely? Because episode 7 really made me feel for Hannah.

I'm up to speed now I have to watch it on catch up on tuesdays as I can't stay up that late on a school night and I agree when Hannah made the connection, I really really felt for her but to be honest she'd been irritating me up to that point

MrsJamin · 07/04/2016 07:20

I did feel for hannah. Especially as her and fran weren't seeing eye to eye. She's a very high maintenance friend, quite self obsessed but they all are. Surely shoshana will reappear next episode? She's taking a while coming back from Japan!

The end of that Hello Kitty Episode was brutal. I think everyone's had moments of heartache like that and Lena tapped into that well. When France patronised her earlier on I started feeling sorry for her! I think Jessa should have had the balls to tell her and not just be a bitch to her as a cop out.

I think it's well written. Sometimes I think it's not because they do the dumbest stuff but then I remember it reflects a lot of 20 something friendships I've witnessed Grin

*Fran not France!

I binge watched this series in one evening. Liking it more than the crap mimi rose storyline last season.

I don't really understand Jessa at times. Previously she'd breeze in, wasn't always very nice, always behaved a bit selfishly and now she's cut Hannah out... but why? Just to make life easier for herself and Adam, and she did it just by blaming Hannah for being the way she's always been. Some therapist!

I can see that she and Adam are really good for each other but I feel like Adam has already treated Jessa 100% better than he ever did poor Hannah. And Fran... I think he's just a bit mundane.

MrsJamin · 08/04/2016 10:28

Yes I wonder whether hannah taught adam to be nicer and jessa is reaping the benefits. Just seeing an ex with someone new even though they're not touching is awful, she encapsulated that feeling in that scene. Poor hannah. Lena's writing is brilliant, a really interesting device being at a trendy play in a building. They still seem young but with their gaining experience they are learning maturity. Turning into a woman is a slow process especially in big cities that suspend your youth.

That was Lena's best acting by a long shot but I couldn't understand that Fran didn't get what was going on, he knows all about Adam surely.

Not enough shoshana or Ray this season, i like the separate episodes but miss the silly interactions they had as a group.

Yeah they have hardly been together have they? I think one of my favourite moments is in the marnie/Charlie episode and she tells the shop woman all about her thoughts about Charlie and the shop woman totally doesn't care!

I love girls! This series is brilliant so far. Hannah is unbearable as is marnie but I love watching them. Hannah and Adam were sweet together but jessa and Adam are lovely.

MadamoiselleMango · 08/04/2016 15:09

Jessa and Adam totally work and I love them together but still, wot a shitty thing to do to your friend!
Even though Hannah is being extra irritating in this series.
I like her gay bf's relationship (agh what is his name??) with the older famous man plotline, it's interesting, I worry for him.

Report
MrsJamin · 08/04/2016 15:52

Yes it's not going to end well is it? Gay older famous man is very manipulative and yields all the power. Jessa should have done the right thing and told hannah outright. It was shitty for her to find out like that.

I love it. There's no happy ever after is there; just decisions that lead to more issues to sort out, exactly like real life. I loved the Marnie/Charlie episode - a resolution of sorts but really bitter sweet. I think Hannah is all over the place tbh and is showing that really well. Jessa is a cow and always has been IMO but that's real life too, we've all known people like that. I love Elijah, he doesn't get enough screen time.

Girls is by far the best thing on TV at the moment. Love Jessa, she is mesmerising to watch (think I've got a bit of a girl crush on her) and her and Adam are totally believable. Hannah makes me laugh, Lena Dunham is so unembarrassed at showing her figure off, when she wore that cut-out swimsuit at the retreat with her mum it was just great. Love it.

Girls has got better as its gone on which is unusual. I can't say I love the characters appart from Shoshanna and the nudity grates on me because it's frankly repetitive now. However I love watching New York and the surrounding countryside. I love the pretentiousness of if all and don't think I could be friends with them in real life, Marnies flat last week was in China town on the same block as my hotel. Conveniently a few doors down from WholeFoods where I'm sure she'll do all her grocery shopping! Although I love Shoshanna I think the ex was only saying what I think every weeks none of them are from exactly working class backgrounds are they? They are all from family money which is very different to the poor sides on welfare.

I absolutely hooked with laughter that the baby is called Sample!
