I was actually more excited about Dr Who than my Christmas presents
Really enjoyed it and can't wait to see the next series after watching the trailers.
Donna cracked me up when the Doctor said about last Christmas (I was hungover )and the cybermen (I was in Spain )

So the Daleks are back, some rhino like creatures, the face of Boe(with his secret message for the Doctor ) and was that a cyberarm?

Oooh can't wait for Captain Jack. We recorded it because we didn't want ds to see scary Santas - dh and I were watching it all cuddled up at 10pm. Lovely. Dh recognised every creature from the trailers for the next series - he knows his stuff! Was a Dr Who addict as a child, new Dr Who has brought it all back... I've got a photo of him meeting Tom Baker in about 1978 when he (dh) was a very serious little boy in a blue anorak. Aw!

Why the vague "Doctor Who will be back next year" at the end of the trailer. WHEN?????

I Really enjoyed it. Was expecting an "Am I Bovvered" from Catherine Tate though or maybe a "what a f*ing libertine".
DH & I watched it after the kids had gone to bed, but have taped it for the boys to watch today.

Well there is nothing on the BBC Doctor Who web site about exactly when it will be back. I really liked it, even though I had dh in the background (who hates DT, because I certainly don't) looking grumpy!

Even he shut up at the trailer for the new series though, especially with the black Dalek (Sec?) making an appearance!

So excited!!!!

Brilliant episode. Was expecting Catherine Tate to come out with " I dunno" at one point.

We taped it as I don't let lo watch it. It would give him nightmares! Even DH thought it was good and he takes the P out of me for liking Dr Who!!!

p.s. I got a Dalek for Christmas.

I was 'allowed' to watch it at my sister's as we forgot to set the video and expected lots of moans and talking through it from the old biddies. Surprise! they all sat quietly and I even heard my Mum laughing at the jokey bits. (Well, I say 'all' but my stepdad sat in a place where he couldn't see the telly and every time someone asked if he could see ok he pointedly said that it was really not his sort of thing anyway. Talk about Bah Humbug!)

Anyway, was great. Donna wasn't as annoying as I'd feared, the Doctor was sweet and lovely and just the right amount of sad (about Rose), loved the visit to the beginnings of the universe and thought the Racnos thingy was a good monster. The only thing was I thought using the Santas and Christmas tree again was a bit lazy, I would have preferred something more original.

Did anyone else see the trailer for the Sarah-Jane adventures? flying K-9 and everything. I think it's on some time new year-ish as a one off special

Did you know the Racnoss was played by Sarah Parish (Cutting It)? (must have spent hours in make-up!)
