After serious thought and discussion we have started watching Spin so for the first time in ages we are watching TWO TV series together (deutschland 83 as well).

We thought it was good. Any ideas? I love Prime Minister Evil who I think may turn out to be the good guy in the end.

Watched the first one. Quite stylish and nice and low-key, but I'll need to watch one or two more to decide.

Hmm, episode 2 was quite good but a lot of the female reactions do seem a bit as if they were written by men implausible.

Do women in their 30s who are being ignored by a boyfriend at work usually have a massive public crying fit? In the office? None of the women seem to get angry.

Also why do female politicians always have to have an older male mentor, without whom they don't stir a step? (cf Borgen)?

I wasn't so sure about it after the first episode -agree with annandale on this - but thought second was better.
I am a HUGE fan of Spiral, and I think France produces some stonking actors. Greg Fitoussi gorgeous in Spiral, more sweaty & seedy in Spin.
I think the portrayal of women improved a bit, but still tending towards the stereotypical. Nothing against the male mentor of Nathalie Baye - at least he will do it, many men won't.
I am sticking with it - at least I can understand the French - in contrast to Spiral, where they could be speaking Chinese for all I know!
