Bloody fantastic
What a genuinely nice bloke!
Makes a lovely change to see something with the feel good factor.

Bugger I keep missing this. I saw the first one and had tears in my eyes, and havent seen one since. Is it repeated.

I didn't particularly like the bloke this week: he really struggled to get on with normal people I thought. I also thought he was quite condescending at times, and I actually found it quite offensive when he said how he surprised that people had been so nice and friendly.

But maybe that's just a comment on how astonishingly well previous weeks' millionaires have managed to fit in with their undercover lives.

i missed the last bit of this last night as had to go to bed

what did he decide to do, and how did people react?

He gave £10k each to:
the hairdresser woman, who was very emotional and thrilled, and employed another stylist, and took on more trainees

the church lunch club group who were shocked and thrilled, and bought a minibus to take folks out on trips. (There was a shot of them going to a fireworks display singing the wheels on the bus - it was truly awful.)

the homeless shelter - specifically for the furniture fund I think. The guy was shocked, but quite coherent, and very grateful.

I thought he was v. goodlooking.

But I was thinking, in all seriousness how much difference "to the estate" is 10k to the hairdressers going to make? 10k would pay 1 hairdressers wage for a year.

Now if he funded a bursary that put someone from the estate through hairdressing college every year and made sure they had a training place at the hairdressers or something.....surely that would have been better?

I agree, that would have been better.

Tbh I think it's a deeply dodgy idea for a programme. Having said that, I thought the bloke and his son last night were really nice, genuine people. The son especially seemed to be genuinely moved by the experience.

If someone gave me £10K, I wouldn't give a fat rat's arse how condescending they were, b/c at the end of the day, they're going to LEAVE, and I'll still have the £10K.

I love this programme but it always makes me cry - sad I know - every week I have to pretend I have bad hay fever (in December!)or a bit of chilli in my eye or something
