Back next week on Sky Atlantic.

Loved series 1 apart from rubbish ending and so many loose ends.

Looking forward to it too, hope they move the story on and don't rehash stuff further.

Do you think Cole will become suicidal? He seems pretty depressed.

I think we are going to see that life after an affair is not always rosy for the new couple.

Does anyone feel up to a short summary of how it ended?? I loved it but really can't remember how they left it (was there no solid conclusion?)

It appeared (but wasn't 100% clear) that some time had passes and the couple who had the affair were living together and had a remarkably low maintenance baby daughter. Then Dominic west's character was arrested for murdering the bloke whose death the detective had been investigating.

The lead man is annoying. He's the definition of creepy.
and ever since a pp said that ''Cole looks like he could be Simon from Corrie's dad'' I can't watch him without wanting to burst out laughing. Grin I also find it difficult to see him as someone you would want to have an affair with. Confused

Who the helldid the casting for this?
Surely the hot husband should have been the affair partner?

I forced myself to watch it till the end, hoping it would get better, but it isn't doing it for me.
I will probably give season 2 a go, but they need to make it more interesting.

That should read ''Dominique looks like he could be Simon from Corrie's dad'' Smile

I can't wait, but agree that I began to find Dominic West creepy.

Is series 1 on anywhere? I have Skype.

Duckdeamon · 24/10/2015 09:47

But Cole and his wife have major issues. Affairs often not really to do with looks.

Cole's hotness is nice for viewers though!

I can't wait!

It went off a bit at the end of the last series, I thought. But I still found it gripping.

Disagree about Cole being hotter than the husband, though.

Cole is Pacey from 'Dawson's Creek' and still about 16 in my head, whereas Dominic West is the sexy copper from 'The Wire' to me Grin. I can't shake these two associations.

Are you saying you didn't fancy Pacey in Dawson's Creek, Crumbo? I know I did!

allwineismine · 24/10/2015 10:50

I can't wait. I still totally fancy Pacey and he seems to be like wine so has to mine and gets better with age Halloween Blush

SkyFoCrumbo · 24/10/2015 11:00

I only fancied Pacey very slightly... in relation to whiny, navel gazing Dawson he was sexy Grin

I find Dominic West creepy as I watched that mini series where he played Fred West and he was spookily disturbing in that, although I could kind of see how the 'Appropriate Adult' who was assigned to him might have ended up feeling drawn to him. Fucking creepy thinking about that in relation to the real Fred West though.

I also found duck face annoying, but I did enjoy watching the progression of the story even though most of the characters, especially the main two, were pretty unappealing.

The two versions of the same story line are getting a bit old hat. I hope they drop that, it's starting to get boring.
We get that they are both viewing things differently, but we no longer need to have it spelt out to us.

SkyFoCrumbo · 24/10/2015 12:09

I didn't even clock the 'different viewpoints thing' for ages

I found it very effective for a bit, but then it got far fetched, with them remembering completely different things happening...

I like the fact that the affair-era are both a bit unappealing, though. And that they both have really good marriages, essentially, with nice partners. It makes it much more realistic and psychologically gripping. It would be too easy and trite for her to have a bastard of a husband and him to have a sexless marriage or whatever.

people have affairs because of their own fucked up issues, essentially, and cause the ones they love pain because of their own unresolved pain...I thought this series brought that out beautifully.

*affair-ers (ie. the people in the affair) not 'eras'

as I said - dim! Grin
