The Brain Hospital

2/3

In the second episode of this series, both former athlete Oluyinka Ademuwagun and Ross Davidson, the one-time EastEnders actor, have brain tumours, while Lois Higgs has such severe epilepsy it dominates her life. All three hope that the surgeons at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery can help them. Documentaries about the incredible work of Britain's surgeons can lead you to believe they can cure anything with a scalpel and a bit of suction. But, of course, there are times when they have to admit they can do no more and sadly, one of these three patients gets to hear those words. It's one of many deeply moving scenes that nestle among the bloody sequences of surgery and occasional startling moments. When the surgeon about to excise Ademuwagun's tumour via her nostrils asked for a "hockey stick", I nearly passed out.

I've just noticed this on the UCLH website: "National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. Find out more about the hospital, and the doctors who are starring in a prime time BBC1 series, The Brian Hospital, starting transmission on 22 November at 9pm."
Do you think their Press Officer is a MNetter?!
