Found you!

Really need to regain control of the laptop!

BagelwithButter · 26/06/2015 15:39

Are any of you going in next two weeks. I didn't get any ballot tickets but might try and get in by queuing.

We got Olympic tickets and had a wonderful day up there.

Wozni has just retired in Eastbourne - back problem.

Raahh · 26/06/2015 16:02

No, I am too far awaySad It's 21 years since I got chance to go.

One say, I will go back. One day.

magimedi · 26/06/2015 18:14

I am SO excited. Was just talking to DS & he said he'd check what matches were on before ringing during the next 2 weeks.

And, straight after it all finishes we go to see him and my precious first grand daughter, who I have not yet seen. (They live abroad).

My excitement levels are through the roof!!

Tennis

GrouchyKiwi · 26/06/2015 18:24

Thanks for the thread!

We live in Scotland so it's a bit of a mission to go. But DH's parents live close so one year we'll have to stay with them and go for a day.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 26/06/2015 18:26

And then you've got Turkey to look forward to as well, magi.

So far have only got this WEds and next Weds off work. The though of going and queueing is very tempting.

nancy75 · 26/06/2015 18:27

Very exciting , looks like good weather too. I'm going a couple of times in the second week, can't wait????

magimedi · 26/06/2015 18:33

Rafa - I'd forgotten about that - it seems a long way off.

Quite honestly I am just aching to see PFGC & have cuddles.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 26/06/2015 19:27

Aww. How old is PFGC? Obviously as granny you get to spoil her rotten.

Raahh · 26/06/2015 21:08

magi- that is so lovely. Hope you get to see PFGC soon.

And thank you for the reminder that the Goran/Pat match is being shown tomorrow. It is one of my very favourite matches.

And the Arthur Ashe documentary too- a fascinating man.

TheFutureSupremeRulersMum · 26/06/2015 21:10

Signing in. Can't wait and neither can DD! I listened to the singles draws this morning but didn't really pay attention other than Djoko has a tough first match against Kohlscriber (good) and that Nadal is in Andy's quarter.

MrsVamos · 26/06/2015 22:31

Awww, a new baby ? Lovely. Smile

Hello Lovely tennis peeps.

Gotta watch a bit of Goran. Wink

Wonder if we'll get the pleasure of THE Roger v Rafa match ? Its even better when you know whose won. Grin

I'm getting ridiculously excited.

magimedi · 26/06/2015 22:46

PFGC is 6 weeks - and 10 hours old as I post!!

Andy to win (again!!) - for sure!!!

DramaAlpaca · 26/06/2015 22:50

Signing in. Thanks for the new thread, MrsV.

As usual I won't get to see too much live tennis bloody work but will be checking in here to catch up.

Congrats on your granddaughter, magi. Lovely news Smile

MrsVamos · 27/06/2015 11:36

Oh, magi, lovely, just lovely. Many congrats on your granddaughter. I bet you can't wait for cuddles ! Smile

Missed classic match this morning. Angry

DD was absorbed in something on CBBC and I forgot it was on.

There are a few bits of matches you can watch on the BBC website. Much condensed, but still great to watch !

I have survived the village fairGrin

I am now skint.

Just watching the end of the repeat of the Dogs semi. He still lost. Sad
I never know what to think of Sam Querrey. He reminds me of Herman Munster.

Raahh · 27/06/2015 16:09

I don't think Istomin really wanted to talk thenGrin

magimedi · 27/06/2015 16:28

Today at Wimbledon will no longer have John Isner - now going to be Clare Balding.

Hooray!

Just watched the Eastbourne final - great match. Bencic was SO cool in the final set & came out to serve for it at 5 -0 & didn't falter once. Really nice girl (she is only 18) & I look forward to seeing more of her.

InDespair · 27/06/2015 17:21

I assume you meant Inverdale Magi and not Isner! Grin.

OMG, that programme about Arthur Ashe had me in tears! What a guy.
Knew he'd won Wimbledon but didnt know he won the US and Aussie opens too.

What did they maen by 'speculation' when he announced he had aids? (until he explained how he got it).did people think he was secretly gay and his wife was a beard? TBH I wondered when they said he and his wife adopted a daughter, and dint explain why. could have been medical reasonswhy they couldnt have kids.

As for Macenroe....no excuses for his behaviour. (in Davis cup and in life in general). What a vile man.

watched the Rafter Ivanisevic final on BBC2 this morning. wow, though I knew the result i was STILL shouting 'come on Goran!'. Best match EVER in the history of Wimbledon (in my lifetime, so far). The crowd were great, it was so emotional, and the whole story, that he was a wildcard, no one thought he'd go on to win (except Pat cash I think). Fab match.

can't wait for Monday. Tennis

Raahh · 27/06/2015 17:41

Grin

I did wonder what poor Isner had done. I mean, he's way too tall and a bit dull, but he's not that badGrin

TobikkoRoll · 27/06/2015 19:40

Thanks for the new thread, very exciting...

What no Inverdale?? Grin Clare should do a good job, although I do have issues with the highlight programme re-named "Wimbledon 2day" - have we lost the ability to spell correctly since last year?!?

Hi everyone. Thanks for the thread MrsV. Magi

I would dearly love to take the next two weeks off but seeing as they are the last two weeks of term I think my Headmistress and Govs would be like Hmm

Besides the Chairman is a cricket man, not tennis. I will just have to wrestle the remote from DH every evening and wistfully-yet-secretly follow this thread during the day at work.

I have a mahoossive girl crush on Clae Balding so am quite happy.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 27/06/2015 19:47

Unfinished thought there!

magi congrats on the new grandchild. How perfectly lovely.

Raahh · 27/06/2015 20:04

I don't understand (and I will repeat this again over the next 2 weeks I'm sure Grin)- but what is the point of the highlights programme being on at 8pm, sometimes before matches are finished? it has been like this for a few years now.

It made much more sense when it was on at 9.30. And Des Lynam did it. I miss Des Lynam about 10 years later I named a goldfish after him.

GrinTennis

I love Claire Balding. She is always so genuinely enthusiastic about stuff. And isn't patronising in interviews.

Can they get rid of Virginia Wade though. Her commentating (though I don't watch much of the women) makes Jim Courier sound exciting. Grin

Wimbledon 2day Shock

Dan Maskell will be spinning in his grave.
