Thanks whatever

Oh my actual....

Stannis is dead to me, I tell you Angry He's now murdered his brother, his brother/sister in laws and worst of all Shireen in the most horrific way Sad There's no redemption from this for his character, is there? Sadly I still think he may be the best bet for the throne in terms of ability, but what a complete thundercunt Angry

Well #teamstannis lasted long then You know things are bad when your struggling to root for somebody who wants to kill the Boltons. There's no coming back on this for Stannis

Thank you whatever. I really would not like to be in the middle of a working vs non-working on Monday mothers fight... I reported my post on the other thread and had it deleted.

So was it called Dance of Dragons, because it more or less focussed on the living Targs (Stannis, Doran, Dany...)?

I am warming to Ser Alliser.

And will Stannis die as a punishment?

narvine You did not think Shireen's life would pay for someone else's, but it is not impossible. Mel hardly ever achieves exactly what she intended / understand what she sees in the fire... I obviously thought that Theon will be burnt or Yara, but they did not go there. Yet. Or will Stannis die by a heart tree?

As distance does not matter in the show, does this mean that

  1. Jaime, Myrcella and Trystane gets back in time to see Cersei's punishment and another murderous character's return to King's Landing?
  2. Davos gets to the Wall in time to witness FTW? (this is a spoiler for non-book readers, that is why I use an anagram)

And will we not hear the "Fire and Blood" speech from Doran? I love that actor. He could deliver it so well. And are we meant to believe that Ellaria Sand turned into a vulnerable / understanding woman in just a minute?

  1. Shouldn't think so.
  2. Definitely not.

My feeling is that Ellaria was lying through her teeth and that we are about to see Darkstar (or his analogue) and Bron will go the way of Aerys Oakheart. I hope not. But I fear...oh I fear.

Marking place even though I can't watch it until tomorrow at the earliest.

Actually, sorry 2 should be maybe for some reason I read that as DANY getting to the wall and I was a bit WTF??? But I just temporarily lost my ability to read. Davos is definitely a maybe I'd say.

Unless there's something going. There were two things that...bugged me. One was something that was not said, and the other was something they have in reserve from the books. I'm not expecting either thing to be A Thing but...they continue to bug me. Especially that which was not said. Because - why wasn't it said?

Something going ON.

I think you are right, it is probably only Littlefinger who has his own helicopter in the show, Narvinectralonum.

I want Darkstar! He is "of the night..." Grin Him and Bronn could be a great team. With Jaime, they could set up their own sellsword company. Tyrion could be their treasurer.

And who sends the pink letter? Or will it now be in the show?

I agree. Show Stannis is dead to me. But I hope he kills Ramsey and Roose, and liberates Winterfell. Maybe he could also legitimise Gendry... He has no heir now.

gingercat12 · 08/06/2015 16:23

Could you PM what was not said and you expected it, please. Narvinectralonum

There were lots of things they did not say...

Surely something has to happen in Dorne ? No way I am buying Ellaria's change of heart. Will Bronn turn on Jamie and plot with the Sand Snakes. Doran is far too reasonable and fair - surely he's not for real.

Fewer.

Why make such a pain of correcting that and then...not? Was it to show he was in mental turmoil...or something else?

Julian Bashir is always good and lovely. Even if he slaughters all the children of westeros and drinks their blood I will still love him. I really hope they get Colm Meany in to do a cameo next year.

whatever I think you are right. Doran is too reasonable. Either way I would be really scared if I was Tommen, as Myrcella Baratheon-Lannister in herself has no political value.

ginger I'm a working non-mother, going's just been extremely slow today hence posting Grin

The 'nerdgasm' moment was Dany finally reconnecting with Drogon and riding him off in to the sunset. From what I understand book readers have been waiting for dragon riding for ages! That may just be my friends, mind Grin

whatever I'd still like to see him beat the Boltons and win back Winterfell, but I now officially hate him. How could he?! Shock I had a glimmer of hope that Davros was going to take her with him but he didn't and I knew she was doomed. I think even GOT baulked at making a young girl film that scene though, but it was almost more effective just hearing her screams and pleads Sad

Davros is going to lose his shit when he finds out. Either him or Brienne will kill Stannis, if there's any justice. Maybe even his wife will give it a go? I did find myself shouting 'Too late now!' at the telly when she finally realised the horror of what she was doing to her daughter.

This is the first time I enjoyed the Dorne scenes though. Loved the smack Bronn got Grin What a beautiful place they filmed those scenes in, that interior where they were all sitting and drinking was stunning. I liked that we finally got Doran showing a little bit of steel underneath the silk. The Sand Snakes have been completely pointless and useless this season. Jamie is still in love with Cercei, the fool. He does have a similar gift of the gab to Tyrion, in some ways, does he not? They both manage to talk their way into or out of things, just Tyrion with a bit more flair and Jamie with a bit more charm. More alike in a lot of ways than Jamie and Cercei?

Still bored shitless by Arya but I did do a big grin at Mark Gatiss's appearance, especially love him in his impatient yet polite grimacing mode. I felt the same as him towards Tyrell's singing! I was disappointed in yet another implied rape in the MT scene, haven't we had enough of that this season? I can see Arya's story going the way of O-Ren Ishii from Kill Bill.

Haha I've just realised I've written Davros not Davos - now a GOT/Dr Who crossover would be a hell of a show! Grin

Drumknott - I think it's just your friends! Or rather - it's certainly not all the book readers. We are all book readers in this house (the books are BETTER) and we really don't pull a hair for Dany on or off Dragons. The sooner she gets removed from the board the better, for us! Grin

Report
ChiefClerkDrumknott · 08/06/2015 16:42

Haha just my friends, then. It's not necessarily that it has happened, it's more that the legends that have built around the dragon riders got them all riled up to see it, or something. I don't know, I try not to discuss the books too much with them as I've not read them.

The CGI was a bit naff in the dragon scene, it must be said Grin But I thought they disguised the Harpies reveal well and I liked the bit where Jorah saved Dany. She'll be a fool not to forgive him now! Guessing Hizbah (is that how you spell it?) was not the leader seeing as he's now a bit stabbed. Unless he was also betrayed, but I doubt it

How does the greyscale get passed on? If you have it and touch someone at all are they at risk? Or do you have to touch them with the greyscale bit of your body? I ask because I noticed Jorah helped Dany down off the stage but I think it was his non-greyscale arm....would have to rewatch to check, though.

Report
whatevermaycome · 08/06/2015 16:48

Yes I thought Hizbah was in on it especially when he was late saying he was checking everything was how it should be. Then he was stabbed so bang went that theory.

Chief Your friends may have been interested in the original Dance of the Dragons, which by all accounts was amazing and very bloody (and ultimately resulted in the dragons dying out). I am Team Rhaenyra now that Stannis asked Grin.
Also a book-reader here, but I try to accept that the show is not about the books. Dany's story was so promising in the beginning, but nowadays... I'd rather not offend Dany fans.
A bit similar with Sansa. Lots of people see her as the main character of the story. Not for me. But I wish she was not suffering.

How will we have time for all the storylines to get an ending? Based on the preview, we will have the battle for Winterfell, Cersei, Jaime, Mereen. Arya needs to carry out her mission. The Wall is likely to be the main cliffhanger. Dany and Drogon?

Who will let the other two dragons free?

Report
Narvinectralonum · 08/06/2015 17:07

I wouldn't be surprised if the last scene wasn't the tinkle tinle of little bells. D&D do like ending on Dany. And that might be the only scene she gets (that would be nice). I don't think FTW will be the last scene. The other candidtae for final scene might be Arya waking up...

I don't think the other two dragons will be set free.

Jamie sent off by Doran to recriit Dany as support for Dorne and then possibly reunite with Tyrion ? Also stops Jamie from helping Cersei. Bronn to be left by Jamie to protect Marcella to Kings Landing but betray him for the Sand Snakes? Different characters in the book but same story-ish.

I know what you mean re how will they fit it all in? The last series will presumably be heavy in battling to save the world from the walkers, so realistically there's only a series and a bit to get the game for the throne sorted before all that kicks off. Maybe they really will do a massive cull in episode 10 so there's less to focus on next series Grin

I think they may leave Dany for this season now, it seems a suitably dramatic moment to do so. Unless she goes and frees the other two and creates more drama! I was beginning to worry for her sanity but hopefully she will listen to Tyrion, who is not awed by her and knows what he's doing. He's exactly what she needs.

I loved Sansa at the end of S4 but they've regressed the character this series. She outsmarted Littlefinger FFS and now she's back to cycle of cruelty she was in with Joffrey. I hope she gives up on anyone else saving her and kicks a right loads of Bolton arse before Stannis gets to Winterfell. Brienne is allowed to help so that she can be there to gut Stannis when he arrives. They have to have some sort of resolution to the Sansa/Ramsey and the Winterfell situation next week, surely? Although they can easily link those bits together.

They also need to sort out Arya's story next week. They may leave Jamie/Dorne as it is for now, we have a small resolution there so they could feasibly leave it until next season.

They do need to explain what Littlefinger has been up to and what he meant when he had a gift for Lady Olenna next episode, I reckon unless he really did me Lancel which would be lame. That could be linked to Cercei's trial though. Surely they have to tell us what happens to Tomman, Margaery and Loras before the end of next week's episode, too!

I don't think they will tell us what happens with Margery, Loras etc as I don't think it's resolved in the books. Cersei does a walk of shame and I think that's all you'll get of KL. Also agree re No Dorne or Bravos.

I think we'll get Winterfell with Sansa making a break for freedom. Hopefully Ramsey killed by Stannis and then Brienne kills Stannis for Renley. But that's probably just wishful thinking now I hate Stannis.
