Here Come The Romanians Channel 4

I'm catching up with this whilst cooking tea. Did anyone see it? I was a bit conflicted when they showed the men coming over and immediately being shown how to work the benefits system. Then they showed the men arriving in Liverpool and the one we'd seen back in Romania as a proud father just looked scared and in shock.

The human statute trade is absolutely bizarre.

The chap who lived in Canada was the most shocking for me. And then I was happy for the one that was so determined to find work, get off the system. hell, he even learnt basic English in a short time.

Knew someone would have started a thread on this! Saw this on catch up today, and I was bewildered with the fact they had no money yet were smoking cigarettes and had plenty phone credit to make calls back home to Romania - am I missing something???

I think when you have money, one of the first things you spend it on is A) being in touch with your loved ones and B) feeding an addiction?
