Strictly Come Dancing - too uncool?

I absolutely love this show and it just gets better every series. But I rarely admit to it in public and none of my friends watch it - they all watch X factor - which I love too but not as much. So would love to hear from anyone who loves it as much as me!

Love it. Unconcerned by lack of cool factor (I don't even know who most of the people on it are, so either they are super-uncool or I am!)

I like it. I don't like th female/male split this year though

I love it - esp Anton ahh, such a lovely ladies man!

Used to like Brendan too, and although still very sexy when dancing, is too full of himself.

Love watching the pro dances ahh, who cares if has no street cred - Spoony's a top DJ and he;s on it this year!

I just despair that I have never had and will never have a body like the professional women .

I'm not sure the split is permanent. I think they are having the men this week, the women next week and then will probably merge them. I think it's that they have more couples than previously and probably couldn't fit them all into one programme. Once the numbers reduce they'll probably all dance together.

I love it too, DH even found it for me last night so I could watch the catch up as I'd missed the Saturday show - without me having to ask him lol

Look away of you dont want to know

Nicholas Owen and Nicole Cutler - sad but right choice I think, he was a bit wooden.

and his trousers were like parachutes.
oh dear. I wonder if he thought he was going to do a Bill Turnbull.

thought he was quite nice. Only see him serious telling the news!! He had a good sense of humour!

I was wondering why Emma B and others were not in the proper competition

I was a bit lost, first time I have watched it

It's a bit different this year in that they are knocking out a man in the first show and a woman in the second - they'll probably bring it together again at some point and have a joint comp.

Agree Freckle I can't keep my eyes of the women esp the one that won last year. I just wish I could do what they do - can't understand why I can't get dh to watch it I'm sure he'd enjoy it if he gave it a chance - although maybe it's not such a good idea - he might enjoy it too much!

Love the weekday thing with Claudia Wincklemann as well - poor ds's have to wait for their baths while the series is on!

I love this too, I don't really know why, I just do. I particularly love to watch the professionals do the quickstep - it's just so amazing.

I don't like it: it's not my thing at all. But I am drawn to it this series because of Mark Ramprakash: he's my favourite cricketer of all time, and a real charming, polite bloke.

Unfortunately I think he's too nice, and rather quiet, to forge a career as a c'leb.

I love it, and am very sad to be in NZ and unable to watch it

I like Mark Ramprakash too

I surprise myself my actually liking it. It is not really my sort of thing - I detest X-factor and all the other talent show type things but actually like this. And DS enjoys it, guessing the scores etc and even DD (most untelly person ever) will get up and have a dance.

Why would anyone consider it uncool?? I think it's fab, can you imagine the nerve it must take to get out on that floor on live telly!! And as for the pro dancers, well they are just amazing to watch. Sadly my dancing skills are limited to throwing some dodgy shapes around the kitchen while making tea

I love it too

Even Brucie's cheesy jokes

Good old fashioned light entertainment for all the family!

GhoulsToo · 11/10/2006 09:58

love it - looks like a stiff comp this year and we've only seen the men!

I don't watch any of those other talent shows, Strictly is in a different league in my view!

I agree molesworth it is just about the only programme that we all watch mainly due to DD (2) not being into telly.

But my sister rang up on when I was watching it and said I was sad. Even though she was watching The Premiership's 50 best Footballers on Sky. A bit of pot and kettle there, methings.

Will it be on earlier next week?
