DH and I found ourselves watching this on the iPlayer last night after we'd been out drinking and we found it surprisingly funny. Alison Stedman is always brilliant but Stephanie Beacham's comic timing is superb and Paula Wilcox plays well against type.

However I was totally disconcerted to see Nigel Planer, who played a STUDENT on telly when I was young, turning up as an old gimmer. Made me feel very old.

Could have done without June Whitfield falling down the stairs in episode 2 though, the scripted humour is better than the slapstick.

I am also watching it via I player whilst doing ironing, it is very funny and Stephanie Beacham is excellent. I too felt the same about Nigel Planner, would not put him and Russ Abbott at similar age. Loving the one liners.
