I heard that John Barrowman was getting a Captain Jack series and now I read in In Style (of all places) that there's going to be a series called Torchwood.
Anyone know?

Torchwood is the Captain Jack spin-off series.

It is supposed to be slightly more "adult" in its storylines and hence wwill be going out after 9.

I'll be interested to see how they get him back to a 1950s Torchwood (which is when I think it is set) from Satellite 5!

And Torchwood is an anagram of Doctor Who! [geeky emoticon]

I think they are the same series, he will be starring in the Torchwood series. I'm looking forward to it, I hope it's good. If it's written by the same team who wrote Dr Who is should be great.

The answer, technically, is 4 - or maybe 5:

Doctor Who Confidential on BBC3

Totally Doctor Who on CBBC

Sarah-Jane Investigates (pilot forthcoming, probably on CBBC - updated version of K-9 and Conmpany, the original spin-off from the 80s)

and

Torchwood - BBC3

Another called Rose Tyler:Earth Defence was binned at cocnept stage, despite having been allocated a budget!

Torchwood has the same head writer, Russell T Davies, but the other writers are different. Doctor Who's script-editor Helen Raynor is writing one episode.
