Does anyone else feel sick about the last season of Mad Men?

I just saw the trailer and got really excited then, I remembered Sad. I can't imagine Don in the 70's! Will he still be married? How old will he be now?

Ahhhh, Don. So wrong, but so right.

He'll just be a slightly older, silver fox version of himself. Hopefully they won't do some grim decline thing.

Fuckeroo · 03/04/2014 20:04

When is it on?

He had his fortieth at some point in the early sixties but was actually a few years older so in the seventies he'll be at least mid fifties, maybe even nearly sixty.

Lighthousekeeping · 06/04/2014 22:37

It must be back on any day.

Is it on Sunday or Monday?

Is it worth continuing to watch Mad Men?

I've always wanted to watch it (I love 50's and 60's fashion) but I'm a couple of episodes in and a bit bored Hmm i just cringe at all the sexism (even though I know this was what it was like) but I feel like I have to give it a fair shot!

I don't know anyone who watched it and I saw this thread and thought, who better to ask? Grin

Lighthousekeeping · 12/04/2014 08:46

Oh, yes. Honestly, it's fantastic. I admit that it took me three episodes at least to get into it and I couldn't do one after the other lime The Sopranos. It's so worth it. You just need peace and quiet. I think it's on sky box sets.

OP posts:
Lighthousekeeping · 12/04/2014 08:46

Like the sopranos not lime.

Peggy is wearing blue and green in those pictures.

I'm off to reread Tom and Lorenzo. Smile

I'm staying away from spoilers today. I hope it doesn't clash with Game of Thrones tonight!

I know. I've looked at nothing so far. I'm getting excited and already planning my drinks.

I've bought a bottle of gin. Five quid knocked off it in Tesco. Did you know it's being shown over two years? Prolonging the agony!

PeteCampbellsRecedingHairline · 16/04/2014 17:32

I've been googling Don's age. Blush No spoilers about tonight though thank god!

I'm not sure what year this season is set, I'm hoping we're in '69 rather than into the 70's.

Only 4.5 hours to go. Grin

thatstoast · 16/04/2014 17:37

I've just finished rewatching the first six seasons in preparation. I was under the impression that it was set in 69 rather than 1970. Season six was set in 68.

Hoorah! The long wait is over. Pete's sideburns are getting longer and Megan's skirts are getting shorter. I am very very excited.

I have resisted Tom and Lorenzo so far even though their recap keeps popping up on my Facebook. Are we all watching tonight?

PeteCampbellsRecedingHairline · 16/04/2014 18:18

It came to me last night that I should have watched the first 6 seasons. I watched the last episode of Season 6 instead. I had absolutely no idea what was happening. Confused

Good news about this season being in 1969. I have no interest in the 70's.

IdaBlankenship · 16/04/2014 18:28

I don't know Pete I'd quite like to see Don embrace disco Grin
