Yikes, I hope not, poor Sam looks so bewildered at the moment, wonder how long it will go on for, hopefully not that long that we will give up caring what will happen.

Please God not!
I'm sick to death of the selfish woman. Long to see her get a real come uppance.

Hopefully the now cured of his vicious tempter Declan will have a pang of guilt at some point and drop her in it.

Do we think Victoria and new farm boy will swap jobs?

What have I seen Val's holiday romance chap in?

Surely the law of soaps dictates that Charity and Declan will be found out for framing poor Sam. I hope this storyline doesn't run and run though. It would be just too frustrating. And our patience has been tested with enough long running and long frustrating stories over the last year.

Was anyone else as stunned as I was by the HIV revelation! I can honestly say I wasn't expecting him to come out with that.

Maybe Victoria will realise that she's not going to get the same opportunity's in the kitchen with Marlon (who seems to have turned into Gordon Ramsey lite) that she would at the B&B. And maybe farm boy will realise that the job of his dreams is as Marlon/Gordon's second in command. They could end up like Jamie and Jimmy or the Hairy Bikers.

I hope you're right about Val too hickory*. I agree it's a good story line as the amount of older people getting STD's is apparently increasing. A lot don't think they need to bother with protection once they are unable to conceive but obviously don't think about the STD risk. I hadn't noticed Rachel's tan. I shall pay more attention tomorrow.

Onesleep - Declan set Home Farm on fire as he had lost everything and could then make an insurance claim. Charity has talked Declan into framing Sam for it as he sneaked into Home Farm to nick the presents under their tree as he was aggrieved Declan had laid him off and couldn't pay his wages. Charity took Sam's Christmas jumper out the washing, doused it with petrol from the same can Decland used to torch Home Farm and planted it in the gamekeepers shed at the Farm. The police then found it so Sam is well and truly in deep shit.

Val apparantly had a fling when she was in portugal after she went there when she and Eric were having problems and had broken up. The guy turned up at the pub and told her he'd had other affairs and now was HIV positive. His wife had insisted he find Val and tell her as a condition of her letting him have access to his kids.

I don't like Rachel, I know I said it before but when she first came into it she was a real fiery character, she is so different now, but maybe the old Rachel will come back when she knows Charity has set Sam up and kick some arse.

I feel sorry for Ruby, she really wants a baby and it doesn't look like it will happen for her now.

Val needs to tell Eric what is going on

Lisa will figure out what Charity is doing and I reckon Charity will end up blabbing to either Jai or perhaps Rachel. She will feel justified until Debbie talks her around. Its no secret that Rachel is leaving so I reckon this is her exit storyline.

I hate the look of permanent moroseness (not a word but I know what I mean) that Rachel has going on. Face like a slapped arse.

nikkihollis · 09/01/2014 17:44

Oh the Ruby story is so sad. And so well done. Not over-exaggerated or dramatic. And when Amelia started saying her little prayer I really felt for her and Ali. They're none of them my favourite characters but I warmed to them for the first time. Didn't realise Rachel was leaving. On her own or with Sam do you know? The pair of them are pretty boring characters imo.

Oh so prya is anorexic? Am I the only one that didn't see that coming? Blush

Report
Hexiegone · 09/01/2014 20:51

I didn't either, Spotty. I may be being completely ignorant about eating disorders Blush but would it not be bulimia if she's vomming?

Emmerdale writers, if you're reading this, now would be a good time to get rid of Dom and Gemma pleeease.

Report
SpottyTeacakes · 09/01/2014 20:54

I think that's an excuse isn't it? She's not eating and telling everyone it's because it makes her vom?

Yes get rid of Dom!

Hexiegone · 10/01/2014 09:59

Ah, I didn't realise she wasn't actually sick.

Doh, I only coped last night that Priya was doing it to herself, even though I don't like her I feel sorry for her, this is her way of coping with everything David did to her, and he is an asshole, he wants to go the doctor with her but then expects her to wait while he picks up Jacob and they are already running late, I felt like smacking him, and why on earth is Leyla back, I swear to god if David ends up getting off with her I think I will give up on it altogether, poor Jacob doesn't know who owns him, people are in and out of his life like a revolving door, and where is his father, he seems to have been forgotten about

And yes yes yes to getting rid of Dom and his whiny daughter, they have no role in it anymore

I think Victoria is very pretty atm, v annoying character though

Report
nikkihollis · 10/01/2014 18:18

I wondered before if Priya might turn out to have an eating disorder. Her pain in the arse mother seems to have a big thing about her staying in shape (a pre-wedding personal trainer/spa thing and always going on about being in shape etc) and now that she's trying to cope with the David rejection/pregnancy, this would be one thing she can have control over. Feel really sad for her, esp as she cares whether the baby is growing and healthy but not herself.

They could have a real cul on useless irritating characters, but then there'd be hardly anyone left in the place.

Haven't seen this in about a month either so thanks for the recap up thread! I was coming on to ask what was up with Val and also to say Rachel is very pretty without that stupid bun in her hair. Didn't know she was leaving.

nikkihollis I agree that there would be no characters left, I don't know what's happened to it recently - full of annoying characters and silly storylines.

It used to be the only soap I made a point of watching but I am seriously doubting my own sanity watching this tripe for 2 and a half hours per week Sad

Report
nikkihollis · 13/01/2014 20:07

What was with David's incredibly low cut t-shirt tonight? Really yuk!
And poor Sammy! Eeeek.

BabyMummy sometimes I think why the hell am I watching this tripe. At the moment I'm working on the same principles as footy fans - that you don't just support your team when they're winning but through the crap times too. And trust that things will improve. But there are limits to this approach :)
