I love Breaking Bad. The only other shows I like as much are Homeland and The Walking Dead.

I am halfway through the third series. I know I am watching it too fast as I will be sorry when it's over but it's so hard not to watch 'just one more episode'. What is bugging me is that Skylar looks so different in series 3, can't work out if it's just make-up though.

Late to the party too but I just love it! It's the best thing I have ever seen on television. I am slightly obsessed with it, never been like this before. We are half way through series 5. I will be devastated when its over. Yes why does Skyler look so different. ?

I gave my DH the whole boxset for Christmas. We haven't seen any of it yet but really looking forward to it. Much later than everyone else..

I had a baking bad apron for Christmas, and I'm seriously considering buying a Walt plastic figure...this is NOT normal behaviour for me, maybe I should be spending more time thinking about my Critical Appraial assignment that has to be submitted in a few days Hmm

skillsandtea, its a slow burn to start off with but once you get into series 2 you can't stop. I love how unpredicatable it is, with most shows you can usually guess what is coming but this has real 'gasp' moments.

I'm currently half way through series 2 and am addicted. I had though The Walking Dead was the best it could get series-wise, but I am enjoying this more.
We're watching one episode a night on Netflix but dh has the annoying habit (as the one who doesn't have a 3am night feed to do Hmm)of watching one more before he comes up. I can't stay up that long and am currently debating whether to catch up by watching an episode now on laptop while ds2 (2) is engrossed in Mr Tumble and d3 (13 wks) sleeps.
I would def recommend Walking Dead as a series to watch - waiting to start the next series that has only just become available (I think?). Is it series 4? Confused.

It's bloody brilliant isn't it? We had the box set for Christmas, and are slowly working our way through it. I don't want to go too fast, as I want to make it last. We're on about episode 20 of 64.

Why was it never on mainstream TV?

We've just finished the last series too. It really is the best series ever. Fact.

I'm a bit sad it's over now and i'm really jealous of those who have just started it!

Saw this the other day though which i thought was quite funny If Breaking Bad Had Been Set In The UK

I'm glad someone else noticed Skylar looked different.

I wondered if she'd had something done to her lips and cheeks because she looked puffier around the face Confused

We're really late to this, just watched the first 3 episodes of series 1 and not really getting it yet. Are we weird or does it take a while to get going?

I'm a sad git and watched all the Breaking Bad Bloopers/gag reels on Youtube because I missed it so much.

Its well worth a watch!

cranberryorange, I reckon she definitely has had her lips done. I can't stop scrutinising her since I saw the birthday cake one and her saying about them thinking she looked like Marilyn.

Oohhh we are watching it on Netflix, in the middle of series 3 at the moment (just watched the very weird 'fly' episode). I am spending far more time than is healthy daydreaming about Jesse Pinkman Blush

The problem is, everything else seems dull in comparison. We were halfway through Sherlock the other night and just couldn't get into it- had to give up and watch another Breaking Bad instead Grin

fwiw skylar was pregnant when that season was shot. i also noticed how weird she looked so i looked into it.....not that i am sad or anything. makes sense though, she had put on alot of weight. if you look carefully when watching that season she wears baggy clothes and her tummy area is more often than not hidden/camouflaged. best thing i have ever seen on tv. i often re-watch the odd episode as i miss it so much

Report
cranberryorange · 09/01/2014 14:23

Being pregnant would explain the puffiness!

blackandwhite Jesse was supposed to be killed off in the first season but thank goodness the writer changed his mind.

HettiePetal · 10/01/2014 00:03

Anna Gunn (Skylar) wasn't pregnant during BB - the woman who plays Marie was during Season 2. Her belly was sometimes used in place of Skylar's for pregnancy shots.

Apparently she (Anna) was unwell & medication made her put on and lose weight through the seasons.

OP - sorry to depress you, but there is no TV series to match BB :( I still miss it.....whenever I listen to Baby Blue on YT, I get that sinking tummy feeling.....'cos I miss Walter & Jesse.

However - I can recommend Orange Is The New Black, much, much better than the silly title suggests. House of Cards is good too - and I've recently been watching Parks & Recreation.

Emma I would really persevere. By the beginning of S2 you are very likely to be hooked....it gets a lot better.

Just finished it now
Watched season 1 to the last season in 2 wks I was hooked

The big boss Gus nobody found out who he used to be? When the Mafia killed his friend at the pool side he said to Gus "I'm only not killing you because of who you are". And Hank could not find him on the system before a certain date hmmmmm

This is an old thread, but needs resurrecting to discuss Better Call Saul which was equally brilliant!

Better Call Saul is very good. Slower than BB, which I kind of like.

Apparently they are doing a BB movie which will follow Jessie as he escapes Albuquerque. I’m so happy!
