It's almost time for 'The Big Four' which will reunite all the Poirot Characters. Anyone else tuning in?

I'm recording it to watch when DP gets home from work. I love Poirot!

SpottyDottie Wed 23-Oct-13 20:18:27

Strange start! I won't give it away Ralph

They are dropping like flies grin

I'm watching too. I've just realised the French woman is Patricia Hodge, I didn't recognise her.

SpottyDottie Wed 23-Oct-13 21:31:00

It's really weird!!!

difficultpickle Wed 23-Oct-13 21:33:38

It's Poirot on drugs. Clearly he isn't really dead as there are two more episodes in this series.

Well it bore very little relation to the book - not such a terrible thing as it's easily the worst Poirot story (also one of my favourites).

It did have all the characters but all jumbled up, I kept explaining to DH what was meant to be happening. I think he thought I was making it up.

Crikeyblimey Wed 23-Oct-13 22:08:02

Oh sad. Have I missed it? What side was it on and when please?

runes Wed 23-Oct-13 22:40:50

They usually stick to the book for the Poirots but this one is very different. Not really one of my favourites so I don't really mind.

MsJupiterJones Wed 23-Oct-13 23:23:24

I think it improved on the ending, but got a bit confused with itself. It was also confusing for anyone who knows the book trying to work out who Number 4 was.

It's itv, they are doing the final four adaptations with David Suchet over the next few weeks.

I hated the ending. I really enjoyed the book, it was a bit of nonsense but a rip roaring adventure. The tv adaptation was weak and limp by comparison. I was really annoyed with it, it could have been done much better. I also thought the return of Hastings and Miss Lemon was pointless, they didn't do anything!

It's on ITV Player (just FYI for anyone who missed it)!

Anyone watching the last ever Poirot tonight? [sniff] I may need a tissue. I can't remember Poirot not being on tv...since adulthood anyway.

CeliaFate Wed 13-Nov-13 13:30:11

I take comfort from the fact that it's repeated endlessly on ITV3 and have it on series link so I can always watch.
I feel like I want to watch Curtain on my own, in case I blub helplessly.

DH is away tonight so I'm watching alone. I know I'll blub.

OodaresingingoftheDoctorDonna Wed 13-Nov-13 20:08:45

We are watching. Recording for dd2 who is obsessed but at Guides!

Longdistance Wed 13-Nov-13 20:10:47

We're watching it smile

[waves] it's hard to even see Poirot in a wheelchair and frail

Longdistance Wed 13-Nov-13 20:16:24

I think he plays Poirot very well.

He does indeed.

runes Wed 13-Nov-13 20:36:45

David Suchet is Poirot. Love him! This is one of the best books and so far has been done justice. Brilliant smile

I had all the Agatha Christie books as a child. I think my mother threw them out when I left home. sad

I found the entire collection in hardback on ebay. Dh bought them for me, they're one of my most valued possessions!
