Did anyone else think Sue Perkins looked really annoyed last night on the Bake Off?

I was a bit surprised to be honest at how annoyed and angry she looked with Paul and Mary when they were sat discussing the judging. Paul and Mary were explaining why they had been particularly harsh but I thought Sue looked really really hacked off with them, I can even imagine they'd had a row off camera. Just wondered what anyone else thought?

I've come to the conclusion that it should all be blind judging. If anyone else had made a shed on the piss I don't think they would have reacted the same way.
Also I think judge feedback should be given separately. I feel that Mary waits for Paul to "judge" before she speaks.

Not that I'm that involved honest...Grin

Yes I think she did too. I've never heard her question their judging before. Tbh I think it was because she felt they were being overly harsh and nit-picky on Frances. And they were.

I didn't even answer your question.
Sorry. Yes she did looked hacked off. Smile

I did think they were overly harsh last night, I think Mary goes second as bless her cottons she does normally try to be nice cop. Even if it is just "that plates pretty"

and yet they didn't mention how poor ruby's presentation was when they hacked everyone elses to pieces.

Yes I thought they were overly generous to Ruby over the others. My DH said 'She'd look good on the front of a cookery book'. I like to think GBBO isn't as cynical as other reality shows. It would be a massive error if they took away the gentle innocence of Bakeoff for the sake of a merchandising opportunity.

Ruby plays a very clever game. Every week she points out all the negatives about her creations so the natural inclination is for Mary and Paul to say 'oh no, it's not that bad' when actually IT IS! It's a ploy I used when I sold my first house - it had small rooms so I said 'the rooms are a bit on the cosy side' and I got three offers - all from people who had replied 'oh cosy's great, much easier to heat' etc., She's a clever one, is Ruby. Kimberley must be P's off. She had a great wheat free bake when Ruby's was under proved and then she did the beautiful mushroom which they couldn't fault and Ruby still gets star baker for the wobbly shed because she tempered the chocolate! Arghhh!

Yes, i was thinking that about Kimberley too. Both times Ruby has got star baker, I've thought Kimberley was much better. She seems very genuine and lovely too.

I really like Kimberley even though I know she isn't universally popular. She was robbed by Ruby. There's no way she shoulsdn't have been star baker. I think Sue was quite keen on Ruby but the poor me act is starting to wear thin on her methinks.

Ruby right pisses me off with her combination game of 'Oh I'm soo bad at this , it's because I'm just a young student like James from last year'.

I really like Kimberly. She's so genuine and her bakes look so good.

They are taking the piss out of Ruby on the Wright Stuff! I suppose it's already been filmed, so we'll have to put up with her eyelid batting simpering until she inevitably wins the thing, but I wonder if she is looking at how she came across and has changed the way she is. Why doesn't she just put the food on the table, shut up and then say 'Gee, thanks!' when they say it's good?

Harry Hill would have a field day with her. I must admit I think the same but maybe it is the editing. There is definitely chemistry between Paul and Ruby.

Mary was mean to Francis last week.

The way everyone on set cheered when Ruby finally admitted that there might be something OK about her showstopper, made me realise that they all think she is being a PITA as well.

Ruby seems to have been given more air time. Of course she is beautiful and always puts herself down which the producers will find very appealing. She's a very intelligent woman who is playing a game. I reckon Kimberlys piss must be boiling every week. If only Kimberly had longer eye lashes and no self esteem! That would win her star baker for sure.

Yes, they all seem to get on so well together, yet she seems to be playing a game that the others aren't. Maybe that is a bit harsh and she is being edited wrongly but if I was in a competition and everyone was being so supportive but I could sense one person taking the piss, I'd be really annoyed.

I think this weeks show stopper was very poorly thought out.
Either everyone uses commercial sugar paste or no one does. Kimberley's looked great, but it was a shaped tin and bought icing. I can manage that.

Also it was quite clear they wanted rid of Christine, I'm sure they were all furious that Glen did such awful flaky pastry.

I think Ruby is lovely and I don't think it's much of an act, a lot of clever students still find grown up calm escapes them. My Dflat mate was a 26 year old mature student, but she still managed Ruby fluster at the words essay and deadline.

However, she was a psychologist, the other phycologist I lived with was even madder.

Ooh I've not noticed this chemistry between Paul and Ruby like a lot of people, will be watching out.

I really can't decide whether the 'I'm rubbish' act is genuine or not and therefore is downright annoying. Instinct tells me that someone studying philosophy wouldn't be into crafty playacting but who knows?

'I'm soooo rubbish please compliment me and prop up my evo' is a kind of standard thing. She probably is t doing it just for the program, but it's the way she has found works well in life... The non threatening yet talented yet needy beautiful girl. Kinda a classic.

I liked get up until this week but it's just got too old and pathetic, she sucks in all the attention and doesn't admit it's true so she can carry on being the 'oh poor little me' child/ woman she is. Ugh. Less air time on the 'I caaaaan't whining, I think it's become her trade mark and it's not doing her any favors.

When Paul said that the cheese cake was simple, Mel looked hacked off and shared a wtaf look with Sue. They were too harsh.

It was right that Christine went, although one of my faves, the other signature bakes were amazing. How's many times has Frances been told to deliver substance and style? She would be unstoppable if she did both, truly astounding.
