Just about to start on ITV.

(I need something to rinse Pat and Cabbage out of my brain. Crock of sh*t if ever there was)

Just came to see if anyone was watching!

They are calling it the new Broadchurch...we shall see...

upsidedownbacktofronttopsyturv Thu 05-Sep-13 21:10:51

I'm watching it. I never knew it was on the until I was flicking through channels.

Tee2072 Thu 05-Sep-13 21:13:57

Put an automatic latch on your fucking door!

Snazzyenjoyingsummer Thu 05-Sep-13 21:29:20

I'm watching

Snazzyenjoyingsummer Thu 05-Sep-13 21:33:15

The dad has been made to look quite sinister already. All those camera angles and lurking in hallways.

I've given up hmm I'm doing other stuff (MN and brew )
Might watch on catch up without the pesky adverts.

It's one of those jumping from one time to another dramas

Snazzyenjoyingsummer Thu 05-Sep-13 21:35:18

Ah, stepmother.

Tee2072 Thu 05-Sep-13 21:38:35

Still not sure who the girl is. Horrible nanny?

alpinemeadow Thu 05-Sep-13 21:47:39

Yes, she's the nanny, under the influence of the man prowling about. Who is the woman with blonde curly hair - has she had an affair with the dad in the past? The signs are there...

Tee2072 Thu 05-Sep-13 21:51:18

I think she's having an affair with the dad now.

MrsDavidBowie Thu 05-Sep-13 21:53:47

Enjoying this.

Bowlersarm Thu 05-Sep-13 21:55:03

Many similarities to Broadchurch.

Tee2072 Thu 05-Sep-13 21:59:01

It's only 3 episodes, gonna be a quick wrap up.

Clawdy Thu 05-Sep-13 22:18:58

Harrowing to watch,it plays on every parent's worst fear. I got confused, who is the Jason who killed himself?

Lexiesinclair Thu 05-Sep-13 22:25:20

I think he is the nanny's boyfriend Clawdy.

alpinemeadow Thu 05-Sep-13 22:28:49

What was the issue about the magnolia which meant jason couldn't have done it - was it that the magnolia was only planted in the garden after he died? Only if he was not working alone - cue switch to nanny sitting looking guilty...
So, obviously not them.

Tee2072 Fri 06-Sep-13 07:30:33

Exactly alpine. Deffo not nanny and boyfriend.

Although Nanny appears to be in some sort of hospital.

It was the dad. Or the big brother.

alpinemeadow Fri 06-Sep-13 07:39:18

You're right tee, i hadn't realised the nanny was in hospital - so that's why the woman came and gently led her away. Wouldn't the big brother only have been 6 though? The suggestion is that it was someone who cared about him though, so maybe dad..

girliefriend Fri 06-Sep-13 09:21:21

I watched this last night and was wondering if there was a thread!!

Seems very unlikely that the parents wouldn't have a secure front door imo, seriously it wouldn't take 5 mins to put something in place so that a 5 yo couldn't get out.

That aside I thought it was good although obv cashing in on the Broadchurch success!!!

I don't think it was the dad, why would he kill his son confused it has to be something to do with the creepy boyfriend, what did he want to show the boys? And why would he top himself if it was nothing to do with him?

AvonCallingBarksdale Fri 06-Sep-13 11:21:24

I watched and enjoyed - not as good as Broadchurch, but good enough. BBQ scene was excruciating!

MortifiedAdams Fri 06-Sep-13 12:32:40

Am on catch up now.

If it is Broadchurch mark2 then Tamsin Greigs DH did it.

MortifiedAdams Fri 06-Sep-13 12:49:45

Is mum an alcohokic?

Also, Luke was quite upset when she tried to come in at bedtime.

Ahhhhhhhh....just seen .... shes his stepmother.

MortifiedAdams Fri 06-Sep-13 12:51:52

Ehhh....I'm confused. Whos stepmother is she!

Tee2072 Fri 06-Sep-13 12:58:24

She's Luke's step mum, if Luke is the older brother?

Sounds like Dad and Mum met not long after older brother's mum died, she got knocked up and so they married and had Callum. Luke not dealing well with his mum's death.
