I watched it in iplayer. Really enjoyed it and found the differences fascinating. Cried with the Hindu girl though. She was so upset you would have thought it was an arranged marriage not moving an hour away!

Thought the party games with the Russian ones was funny and can't believe they weren't allowed to bring the bread cake in to the ceremony. Not like it was going to hurt!

Just tried to watch it on iplayer but the Sikh girl is just over-emotional, mostly unnecessarily IMO so I had to switch it off.

I too found her complete overreaction strange tbh!

It did make it feel like she was some little girl having an arranged marriage, not a grown woman who had a degree and had 'lived' a little and who'd chosen her husband to be herself Confused

I couldn't watch it. I was so irritated by the Sikh girl going into dramallama mode, and the Russian wedding with all the jokes just made me want to cringe. I could just imagine being a guest and having to pretend that all the ridiculous antics with potties and boxer shorts and boxing gloves etc were hilarious. Mind you if all the guests were also Russian, and this is the 'big' thing, then maybe they do find them genuinely funny. I didn't get to see either wedding because I'd switched off before either of them tied the knot.

Mind you, if they were all drunk on vodka, I suppose they might find it amusing Grin

I laughed my head off at the two guests at the end of the Ukrainian wedding doing the traditional dance with the underpants on their head.

The girl who's married the Chinese guy is annoying me. She's really rude about the Chinese traditions!

I thought his mother looked miserable at the Cyprus wedding.

That's true....neither of them are exactly respectful of the other's traditions.

Do you think the vicar is over the Nigerian wedding yet Grin

I love the couple who got married in Cyprus!. I don't think the bride meant to be rude, she just seems very shy. Her husband is lovely, I'm sure they will be very happy.

The Chinese/English wedding was interesting because of the two different cultures.

They've all made English weddings look a bit reserved. Smile

Loved it! The Nigerian wedding, especially the engagement party was amazing. The English - Chinese one was interestingly honest about people's values are both challenged and changed. I liked that the tea ceremony seemed initially for Cat to be just to please her MIL but she found it had more meaning.

I found it a really hopeful watch :)
