...but I've been pondering because I'm pregnant myself. Is there a moment when Phoebe discovers she's carrying triplets? Have I missed this? I think I've seen every episode and I'm sure it just goes from her finding out she's pregnant to suddenly referring to three babies.....

Yes there is when she goes for her first scan

I think because it was IVF she finds out that there's three at the same time she is told she's pregnant, but I could be making that up!

There's an episode called the one with the free porn. She finds out during her scan. This episode isn't always shown but it was on Comedy Central recently. Hth

Phoebe comes home from IVF does a pregnancy test and it's positive. That's actually always really bugged me.

Yes the whole pregnant within hours of IVF gets my goat! And the Monica/Chandler infertility story line though at least Monica doesn't 'miraculously' fall pregnant anyway!

I've seen a bit online of that episode and I really don't think I've ever seen it! Might have to hire that season!

Phoebe comments about how she's going to have three full grown babies walking around her in a few months and says it's going to be like one of those log rides when they just come shooting out.

She breaks it to Frank and Alice by saying something like 'you know when you're walking down the street and you see three people and you think, hey that's nice'.

Frank yells 'I finally got my band!'

I remember the episode well.

I read a post on Facebook the other day which said
" Monica and chandlers twins would be nine now
Emma would be eleven
Phoebes triplets would be fourteen
Ben would be eighteen"

Many years ago I was lucky enough to see Friends being recorded while I was in LA. Unfortunately it was the one where Phoebe had her triplets, which I think is a contender for least realistic birth on TV ever!

Ds who is 11 LOVES Friends and I am sort of re watching bits with him. I had no idea there were so many references to porn, quite shocked really, although I do realise that it's not aimed at 11 year olds

I always wondered why Monica and Chandler were so quick to go straight from their fertility issues being diagnosed to okay so we'll adopt then. Surely you would try fertility drugs or IVF first given how desperate Monica had always been to carry a baby of her own and they could surely afford IVF as two young professionals with good jobs?

Feckoffcup she had an 'inhospitable uterus' remember? They both had fertility problems and would never conceive even with fertility treatment. Chandler wanted donor sperm but Monica said no if she could have his baby, they would adopt.

Surely if she could have conceived and carried a baby with donor sperm then she could have carried an embryo which had been conceived outside the womb with that procedure where they inject the low motility sperm directly into the egg (ICSI?) though, although I am no expert and don't really know what inhospitable uterus is. It just seemed a bit weird that they were told they could keep trying but it would likely never happen without seemingly any mention of any other fertility treatments they could try to increase their chances.

Yes they abandoned any idea of fertility treatment ridiculously quickly (and adopted oh so quickly too). 'Inhospitable uterus' they never looked at the causes of Chandler's slow swimmers either - DH had that but it had an underlying cause and was reversed!

But then I find all infertility story lines are a bit crap on TV.
