redlac Sun 10-Mar-13 22:02:22

Cos they want it to be like The Killing smile

it's okay - will watch again tomorrow but the book is millions better (as they always are)

Not bad, pretty gripping, but i don't know why they have to make it quite so dark and gloomy looking! hmm

Selks Fri 01-Mar-13 11:54:26

Ooh yeah, looking forwards to this!

I always imagine Misha Collins who plays Cas in Supernatural when thinking of Jimmy smile

I'm hoping the Dougie can get across the stillness of Jimmy and I won't think about his lack of Spanish looks too much

The books are brilliant,I love the character of Jimmy Perez. But I agree - my mental image is not much like the actor chosen to play him, - am still looking forward to it though.

Whyriskit Thu 28-Feb-13 19:57:14

Really looking forward to it, love the books.

Clawdy Thu 28-Feb-13 19:54:08

Have read all the books and can't see Dougie H as Jimmy, though I like him as an actor. Jimmy is described as dark and Spanish-looking.The name Perez is a clue! What were casting thinking?

Iwishitwouldgetwarmer Thu 28-Feb-13 17:52:53

Oh great. I didn't realise it was based on the Ann Cleeves books. I loved the books so am looking forward to this.

redlac Thu 28-Feb-13 16:51:32

I would start at the beginning - Raven Black is the first one and is ace. There is a story thread that goes through the five books which I don't think is reflected in the TV series cos this programme is based on the third book

susiedaisy Thu 28-Feb-13 12:51:31

I'm waiting for this series as well I'm rather fond of Dougie!grin

redlac Wed 27-Feb-13 22:31:39

I'm dying to watch it and keep seeing 'coming soon' adverts

no sure Dougie Henshall will fit my Jimmy Perez image but willing to give him a chance
