last week?
The girls had great singing voices, but I did laugh out loud about how adult and inappropriate the song was - empty bed sheets etc
And how many songs were about mascara!?
Ooh Lessthan, I hadn't thought of the possibility that Rayna might have come from the affair. You might be right! I was too busy thinking about whether her oldest is Deacon's!
Just caught up. Claire has a beautiful voice
I was wondering if Rayna's eldest is Deacon's too......
Doesn't Gunner look like Finn from Glee? <random>
I'm enjoying it in trashy sort of way- Love the fact that main actress is 44 and doesn't appear to have had any work done. Enjoy The Good Wife but hate seeing what Julianna has done to her face.
Same here. No brain drain easy viewing with a good ole lotta country music thrown in. I've always wanted to go to Dollywood!
I thought that Rayna's father had already hinted the the eldest wasn`t her husband's-or did I imagine that?
He mentioned "what we know about Maddie" (or something like that) so definitely a hint to something!
What has Deacon been in before?
He's appeared in loads of shows for just a few episodes (Star Trek, ER, American The Office) but he's best known for improv comedy. Mainly Whose Line Is It Anyway?
I love this so far, it's a bit Brothers and Sisters with politics and country music mixed in. The men are a little forgettable but the females are strong and hopefully the plots will be meaty.
Well this is suddenly getting dramatic! I kinda feel sorry for Juliette, she seems very close to the edge at the moment...and I might have yelled "WHAT?!" at the screen tonight when Rayna said she's firing Deacon
She better not!
I think Juliette's supposed to be a bit of a Britney character (only less extreme) - but her team seem rather more supportive and less openly exploitative than Britney's. It's good to see her realising that getting to the top is far easier than staying there! This is a well-developed plot line - not something as stupid and trashy as a sex tape but highly embarrassing
I'm glad that Husband (Teddy?) is/was having an affair - brings a reconciliation with Deacon one step closer.
So Teddy has been having an affair with Peggy for X years. Nice. He will do well in politics. Rayna could get back with Deacon whom she clearly still loves. I felt sorry for Juliette. I think she will get closer to Deacon, but then that could ruin the Rayna/Deacon relationship. The country club lot were a horrible lot.
I love that they've got Deacon helping Juliette's Mum now, makes the Deacon and Juliette relationship a lot more serious and gives it a whole new layer. When he met Coleman with the pills I really thought it was gonna turn out that he'd taken some. Glad he didn't and I hope we don't see him relapse at all...I love that we got him singing on his own as well, lovely voice!
Looking forward to next week, think it's gonna focus on Teddy and those photos, I wonder how Rayna and Lamar will react!
I'm very glad we're moving the Teddy story on to a revelation. Rayna refusing Deacon's call from jail was so sad.
Nice touch about Juliette suddenly deciding she fancies a new place - great way to introduce new sets.
Glad to see Clare standing up to wotsisname, Avery, a bit more.
"I wonder how Rayna and Lamar will react!"
I thought that Lamar was probably the one having them photographed!
Avery's girlfriend really gets on my nerves-as does Avery!
Keep playing the soundtrack album (it really is devil music
). Apparently it's outselling Les Mis!
oh wow, must get a copy. There's so much music in the series, though! I assume this will be the first of several...
I keep getting Deacon's Sideshow song from the last ep in my head. Nearly always followed by a mental image of Chip dancing around on Whose Line and I can't believe it's the same man! Still love If I Didn't Know Better from episode 1 as well.
The jealous little scrote needs sorting out- I can't bear him.
Just caught up. Did Claire tell her boyfriend to sod off for drowning her out with his guitar playing? I wasn't sure what she said...
Not really. She just bawled him out and said that she always backed him, and didn't want to be one of those couples who fight. That's what I thought anyway. She should have dumped his ass.
I got the soundtrack today- love it.
I watched it just for the music as I don't normally like that sort of thing (never liked Dallas or Desperate Housewives, etc) but am really enjoying it so far.
Watched Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood last week and the screenplay for that was written by Callie Khouri and realised that the actor who plays Deacon is in that too.
