if anyone is interested.

BBC2, 7.30pm tonight.

What has AH done to her boat race? She was plastered in slap! Wrong one through again

MsNobodyAgain Thu 07-Feb-13 22:51:52

Tony was robbed!

Also agree that Angela needs some make up lessons.

TennisFan42 Fri 08-Feb-13 09:15:17

I can't believe Tony only got a 7 (and that chocolate knot thing got an 8) and he didn't go through. That dessert was the first dish that I could really see working at the banquet and it looked delicious too.

TennisFan42 Fri 08-Feb-13 09:15:43

Do we know which region and chefs are up next week?

MsNobodyAgain Fri 08-Feb-13 10:00:16

It's the North West region. My favourite. I don't know which chefs are on though.

Tweedledeedum Fri 08-Feb-13 11:38:55

Tony was so robbed, I agree, what is the point of the brief, he ignored it and is rewarded, and you just know the judges will have none of it. Whereas they'd have had a laugh with Tony's dishes, plus he was so funny to watch. Crap!

TennisFan42 Fri 08-Feb-13 19:40:12

Thank you Matthew for pointing out the comedy element is purely window dressing!

Debra Stephenson is going to grate if she does impressions throughout.

[I'm still feeling bitter that Tony didn't go through]

MsNobodyAgain Fri 08-Feb-13 20:05:42

Good result.

TennisFan42 Fri 08-Feb-13 20:38:11

I'm glad Michael went through but I am struggling to see any dishes that could go through to the final so far.

Oodsigma Fri 08-Feb-13 22:39:17

There's part of me that would like to see waiters carrying huge trays of kilts with dangly doughnuts!

The chicken crossing the road thing was the best so far.

MousyMouse Sat 09-Feb-13 17:17:28

anyone tasted goat?
a market neat me sells carrabean goats stew and it smells delicious but am afraid to try due to mutton trauma

think the right one of those two went through, liked some of tony's dishes though.

will there be any women chefs? it's all a bit one sided...

Davros Sat 09-Feb-13 17:39:18

If you've eaten any "beef" products made with imported meat recently you've probably already sampled goat grin

MsNobodyAgain Sat 09-Feb-13 17:42:32

I haven't tasted goat. I wouldn't know where to get it round here. There are the main supermarkets and a lot of Polish shops but that's it.

Yy to wanting a lady chef to appear. It's all too macho at the moment.

MousyMouse Sat 09-Feb-13 17:42:49

at least not knowingly.
does it taste a lot like goat smells iyswim? or goats cheese? [vom]

MsNobodyAgain Sat 09-Feb-13 17:43:22

grin Davros

Oodsigma Sat 09-Feb-13 18:35:53

Dh likes goat. Was obsessed with goat curry when we went to the Caribbean

TennisFan42 Mon 11-Feb-13 08:44:33

According to the radiotimes website the chefs tonight are iden Byrne and newcomers Mary-Ellen McTague and Chris Holland (finally a woman cooking) and being judged by the loveoly Phil Howard

MsNobodyAgain Mon 11-Feb-13 09:19:07

Oh, I like Phil Howard. And a lady chef at last, yay!

TennisFan42 Mon 11-Feb-13 10:16:05

I would love to go to Phil's restaurant in Mayfair.

Oodsigma Mon 11-Feb-13 19:41:55

Not sure phil Howard & humour go together.

Oodsigma Mon 11-Feb-13 19:57:45

Felt they met the brief better today.

Raahh Mon 11-Feb-13 20:42:00

Ood I have just caught up with this and agree, for a Comic Relief brief- Phil really isn't your man!

Raahh Tue 12-Feb-13 19:57:04

I like the presentation of the 'gone fishing' one today. Sounds like it would taste good. I wouldn't want to be judged by Phil- and I think he let Mary Ellen off lightly yesterday given how late she was.

I really want some Dover sole though!

Oodsigma Tue 12-Feb-13 20:11:15

Think this week is going to be close.

MsNobodyAgain Wed 13-Feb-13 10:39:59

I've just caught up also. Mary Ellen should have been penalised for being that late with her starter.

I think this weeks chefs have met the brief better with the starters. Not so sure with Mary Ellen on the fish course though.

I'd like Aiden to go through. He's trying so hard and seems such a nice chap.
