I have never managed to stay awake watching anything Brian Cox has been part of, his voice drones me to sleep everytime.

I was paying attention, and it was very interesting. In fact, I might have to watch it again as DH fell asleep during it and was snoring so loudly I missed some of the commentary.

Normally I don't find BC particularly appealing, but somehow, in this, he was! Blush

No I didn't watch, but I hate that his programmes are always dumbed down, he annoys me anyway with his face, but him constantly strolling along beaches going "ain't it brilliant" reminds me of that fast show character.

There was a really good documentary on BBC4 about basically the same thing Cox emotes about with his giant rubber lips, same time as his last series, but with rudimetary budget graphics, wonder where the money went Hmm.

I never did understand the physics language!

I remember really enjoying and feeling inspired by Horizon documentaries and the like as a teenager, things like string theory and what not, they are still going over the same ground (20 years later), but with more locations and flashy graphics now.

The BBC 4 documentary was good because it did introduce more recent research, I think this was the one I watched, but not sure.

Housewife, you don't need to understand the physics language, even the most highbrow documentaries on TV are dumbed down and understandable, I wouldn't have a clue about the intricacies of different theories, not having a degree in maths or physics, but surely the ideas are open to anyone who can read?

I think he is the fittest guy on tv and its a total bonus that I can perv and get educated at the same time. I prefer him doing physics though as i have a background in biology and kept thinking do you actually know what you are talking about?

At least he is happy to take the piss out of himself, and isn't all stuffy. He was incredibly funny on QI; chatting to Ross Noble about throwing Ewoks into lakes of methane and so forth.

Hes a nice bloke. But a TV critic did suggest that in the end Brian Cox will discover that he is god. Knows so much he has to be.
