Any big Downton fans out there who can tell me what happened in the very last episode of series 2 and also the Xmas special? Tryin to get ready for the new series on Sunday but is there anything else I missed? (apart from Lady Mary and Matthew getting together that is)

Just need to get back into the breaks, it annoyed us last year I recall.

Why can't they bring a hottie in for Edith. That guy is a right wet blanket.

Oooooooh what a cad that Larry chap is!

Oh bless her she is desperate to marry.

I love Matthew even more for siding with Tom & getting him to be Best Man.

Excellent!! grin

US Grandma is going to be a match for the Dowager !

Nothing ever runs smoothly with those 2....

Nooooooooo Mathew & his bloody misplaced sense of guilt over weedy Lavinia. Grrrrr.

ScorpionQueen Sun 16-Sep-12 22:07:23

He should just be grateful people keep making him their heir.

MissMogwi Sun 16-Sep-12 22:08:24

Bloody Matthew and his bullshit principles. He's spoiling the game!

grin

Gah...too many breaks angry

Remember when Lavinia died, they were all eating their scrambled eggs, went to see her depart this mortal coil and then went back to resume their tea.

Run away from Matthew Mary, go be a Bright Young Thing in London.

ooh I would have cast tradition aside and taken him to my bed....
Mind you, remember what happened last time Mary did thatgrin

Loved the wedding dress - so romantic. Like Tom Branson too - interesting sub-plot.

Me fears trouble in prison.

awwwww sniff I do like a good wedding......never thought I'd see it!

Pmsl Scorpion I just got a text from my mum saying the same thing!

She is too much of a socialist to truly enjoy Downton though, she ruins it for herself focussing on the horrendous social inequality.

GeorginaWorsley Sun 16-Sep-12 22:36:36

Me too..
Tissues needed.

Message withdrawn at poster's request.

zamantha me too....Bates is going to lamp the cellmate & get into <even more> trouble.

Love the Branson sub-plot too I think the character could develop quite well.

Considering Sybil must be about 16 wks up-duffed she is still looks very svelte. I love the flapper bob she is sporting!

outtolunchagain Sun 16-Sep-12 22:42:36

Beautiful dress and they came in to the same music that I did . Really hope Bates doesn't mess everything up , fear he is going to be murdered whilst Anna is in Francesad

I reckon they won't make it through the reception with Lord Gs "exploding chest" becoming a full blown cardiac arrest.

Jf is nothing if not subtle.

Mama1980 Sun 16-Sep-12 22:45:14

I cried blush blame the pregnancy hormones

Northernlurkerisbackatwork Sun 16-Sep-12 22:45:16

Well that was fun. Loved the wedding dress and obligatory pre-wedding row.

Branston thoroughly rehabilitated as 'the son in law who's a radical but so interesting' grin

Schmaltzing - Sir Anthony Whatsit has a useless right arm thus apparently making him unsuitable to be a husband hmm
